- Mariana (10/5): An incredible experience to both adults and kids - This was by far the best hotel we stayed in our trip. The property is amazing: clean, spacious, comfortable, staff soooo friendly. The restaurant is really good, the pool. Overall an incredible experience. Nothing honestly
- María (10/5): - Beautiful place at a very nice location. Service was great, they were very kind and helpful.

- Rachel (10/5): A beautiful place for a respite. - The surroundings were stunning, Neri was wonderful to speak with and took great care of us, the breakfast was great and dinner at the ristorante was incredible! We loved the pool as well. It was a respite. I suppose the only thing was it was a bit on the high end of pricing for us but still wonderful.

- Laura (10/5): A dream stay at the Castello - Castello di Gargonza was a dream stay! A gorgeous complex of historic buildings with incredible vistas. A restaurant with delicious, gourmet food and extensive wine list -- at very reasonable prices. And a staff that is genuinely excellent -- helpful, welcoming, etc. The owner himself was lovely and made us feel at home. We extended our stay, we enjoyed it so much. If you're looking for peaceful countryside, relaxed elegance, and Tuscan history -- I'd stay here!

Location, cleanliness, friendliness of the owner and staff, the hospitality, the history of the place
The restaurant very good - nice wine and dine !
Relaxing at the swimming pool. Maybe the fact that our room had not enough light

- Christian Goth (10/5): Excellent place! - Excellent place! Friendly service, nice facilities and great, original Italian food.
- Tjasa (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful stay at Castello di Gargonza! The property is charming, the staff exceptionally welcoming, and our great room made the experience even more special. The food at their restaurant was delicious. Highly recommended—we look forward to returning soon!"
- Diane (8/5): Charming hamlet on the hill - The location is stunning!!! Perfect for a fairy tale wedding. So quiet and peaceful. Our bathroom was beautiful. Finding the reception desk was a bit challenging. There was only one sign at the bottom of the hill, but nothing at the top to say where to go. I walked around the entire building before I found someone who could help me find it. The breakfast was sadly not much. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on Tuesday’s (as was most of the town), so that was also a bit disappointing. Both these things aside, it was a lovely experience and we’re glad we went.
- Trudy (10/5): Exceptional - This was the coolest accommodation I have ever experienced. The castle was so authentic and absolutely stunning but with all the modern comforts of home. The host even gave us a little tour of the tower which was a highlight for my 10yr old son. Food at the restaurant was great. Long winding road to get there but well worth the effort.
- Yuan (6/5): Rustic getaway in famer’s houses (the rooms are not in a medieval castle, as the name suggests) - Beautiful landscape, swimming pool, friendly staff Insects in the rooms that got into my suitcase. Very hot and clammy rooms, makeshift air conditioner with pipes leaking water
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucyamico (10/5): Exceptional - Castello di Gargonza is a very special place. The views from our suite were sublime and my morning swim was heavenly! Our room was extremely comfortable - air-conditioned, with an enormous, super-comfortable bed and a huge bathroom. Decor-wise, it all looked newly done. The breakfast was great and we had a delicious lunch - homemade truffle pasta (which would have cost double in England!). The staff are all lovely and everything is extremely good value for money. The journey from Florence airport was easy and the drive up to Gargonza is breathtaking. It is very well positioned for visiting all our favourite places in Tuscany. We are already planning our next visit. Nothing - we had a great stay.
- Gökhan (9/5): Superb -
- Howard (5/5): Passable -
- Jacob (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marija (10/5): Exceptional - Everything..amazing location,beautiful castle village where we lived..rooms so charming..breakfast very good Niente
- Chris (9/5): Amazing! - The location and ambience of the castle. I love the surroundings and how peaceful it is. I also like the people that work at the castle. They are very helpful and supportive in every way. Nothing really.
- Andre (10/5): Love it! - One of the best experiences for a stay. If you are seeking for some peace of mind, this is a place you should stay in. Also the breakfast and the dinner in their restaurant was amazing.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohammad (8/5): Little heaven - Breakfast was absolutely delightful, the cozy fireplace added a wonderful touch, and the location was simply fantastic. It's a remarkably tranquil haven, perfect for those seeking respite from the hustle and bustle of a bustling city. The quality of the restaurant's food could have been better, and the prices are a bit high.
- Tim (10/5): Magical place, a step back in time - Perfect setting and we had the whole place to ourselves
- Linda (10/5): what a wonderful experience. - it was an amazing property, beautiful setting, great time the pool was chilly but I still jumped in
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was excellent!
- Luc (10/5): Exceptional - Very unique location. Antique houses turned into very comfortable apartments.
Members of the owning family take great care of their guests.
- Frank (5/5): Passable - Unique historic question To basis, no airco in rooms (only mobile units who make enormous an out of noice and cannot keep up with heat at night), quite uncomfortable matresses. The location has al the potential to be waw, yet to date misses the coziness that this could offer.
- Brittany (10/5): Very memorable. Grazie! - Beautiful grounds, pool and staff! We loved everything.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robinson (7/5): Wouldn’t stay here again - Charming property with a lovely pool. The breakfast was great and the restaurant had great atmosphere. The rooms were nice but a bit musty and no AC which became an issue during a heat wave. The pool is great but it was really far away from the rooms down a steep hill. The coffee bar looked permanently closed and the bodega only sells drinks so you can’t really make a day of the pool without food or snacks. The location is out of the way from many of the towns we visited in Tuscany and it didn’t feel built up enough food/amenity wise to spend a day relaxing by the pool.
We also had a rude waitress at the restaurant. Despite having reservations she wanted to seat us inside (where it was 15-20 degrees warmer) instead of the charming courtyard where literally every other table was seated. I suspect this was because we were the only family with kids (who are well behaved!) She got quite frustrated at our request but eventually the rest of the staff intervened.
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kris (10/5): Very accommodating hosts, rustic Italian location, beautifully clean, perfect location for visiting across Tuscany. Woul - Beautiful location and facilities. None.
- Leonid (10/5): Perfect place - Everything
- Oskar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valerie (10/5): Beautiful and serene - Beautiful, serene property away from the hustle of Rome. It was all so beautiful. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming.
- George (7/5): Good -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (9/5): Nice 1 night stop on the way from Rome to Florence. Wish we had booked another night - Wonderful staff. Very helpful. Clean and beautiful property. Peaceful.
- Henry (9/5): Charming and relaxing place to stay - Lovely old village with beautiful surroundings The room whilst pleasant was smaller and not as nice as the room in the photograph shown on Booking.com
- Mark (8/5): Great place to stay while in Tuscany. Very nice staff! Breakfast was very good and even had several gluten free options! - Beautiful castle In beautiful Tuscany Not within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. You need a car to get around. No public transportation options.
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helena (10/5): Exceptional - Very good! Great experience, lovely, amazing, romantic Everything great
- Anonymous (6/5): good option to visit Tuscany - the view, the scenery the bed were comfortable but the living room of the family room was quite precarious.
- Yaniv (10/5): Exceptional - Great experience in a lovely historical castle. Our room was wide, well designed and we enjoyed the wide comfort bed and the heat of the classical fireplace. Breakfast was rich and tasty. The staff is very kind and friendly. No wifi and no cellular service at the room. The wifi worked Only at the public areas of the accommodation.
- Rohit (8/5): Very good -
- Palarak (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valeria (7/5): Good -
- Charles (7/5): Nice castle. Fair warning – some aspects of the accommodations are quite rustic. - Castello di Gargonza is exactly what it promises to be – a somewhat remote medieval castle complex, complete with thick defensive walls and a tall tower. Views of sunset and sunrise are striking, staff speak English well, and parking is easy. Our meal at their restaurant was excellent. Daily breakfast includes an extensive array of meats, cheese, yogurt, and pastry, as well as some options like scrambled eggs. When we wanted to book a cellar tour in nearby Montepulciano, the front desk very kindly called for the reservation on our behalf. Fair warning – some aspects of the accommodations are quite rustic. In our room, the air conditioner was not functioning, the bed felt quite hard, and chinks around the windows allowed some bugs inside. In our friends’ room, there was no shower (only a tub and a spray wand), and the refrigerator had been removed.
- Janet (10/5): Beautifully renovated historic setting. - Beautiful historic setting. Very quiet but centrally located between Siena, Cortona, Montalcino and the Chianti region. The rooms were more than ample. The historic setting was beautifully preserved - modern conveniences but a view to the past. The only issue was that the reception desk was not always staffed.
- Balenter (9/5): Superb - It was a great experience to stay at the Chateau agriturismo in the Tuscany area!
- Joan (10/5): Amazing stay at Castello di Gargonza - This was one of the highlights of our trip to Tuscany. Such a unique property to stay in that takes you back in time. It was so interesting hearing how the village was restored over time by one family. The breakfast and dinners we had were wonderful and authentic. We really enjoyed walking around and exploring the property. It was a perfect location for exploring other areas in the region. We visited a wonderful winery Felsina, and a tour of the beautiful La Foce gardens. I would recommend both.
- Jamesmuraro (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was great, Views from windows could have been better.....maybe typical for a castle though
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ziggy (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely location, unique property, food and services excellent.
- Janneke (10/5): The most amazing location we have ever been to! - We travelled the whole world, but this is by far the most amazing location we have ever been to. The swimming pool can use an update
- Molgan (10/5): thank you it was great - I liked that there were gluten free options
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bjoern (5/5): Passable - it’s beautiful staff overworked and without a clue. room under rooftop without aircraft’s ndition. they brought a portable one which did not work until I cleaned the filters. restaurant staff totally out of their league.
- Zoja (4/5): Disappointing - splendid location portable airconditioning, extremely hot at night. really really small bathroom.
