- Mandy (10/5): - Beautiful property
Awesome location
Stunning views from master bedroom
Home from Home
Fantastic for walks
- Kate (9/5): This cottage was in the ideal location to leave your car for the weekend & relax in the lovely cottage. - Location was amazing. Perfect layout for a weekend for four of us. Facilities excellent.
- Julia (9/5): A comfortable stay for the family. - Location Steep stairs
- Karen (9/5): Brilliant comfortable stay. Would definitely come back - Lovely clean house well located -
- Louise (10/5): Great weekend - It’s quirky quiet with a central location and beautiful views
- Barbara (8/5): - Close to the coast No parking
- Caron (10/5): - Lovely location. Very cosy and comfortable. Clean, good size and good amenities. Would highly recommend and stay again.
- Charis (10/5): Lovely! - Lovely property - helpful and responsive when I misunderstood how to use door lock. Great location
- DAWN (10/5): - Perfect location with stunning views. A very comfortable stay.
- Natascha (9/5): Spacious, nicely decorated, and a lovely location. - Loads of space! Brilliant value if you're holidaying with multiple people.
- John (8/5): Exactly what we were looking for on a short visit to Arnside - Liked we could book for 2 nights in a location where we visit regularly Nothing negative to say, the guest information in the property was a little tired and could use a refresher that’s all
- malcolm (8/5): -
- Gillian (10/5): A comfortable relaxing stay with family in a lovely part of the world - Very homely, warm with everything you could need it was in a good, quiet position local on street not a problem for two cars. Nothing
- Mira (10/5): Great! - Location, sea views from 2 bedrooms, the fact we could rent out for just 2 nights, comfortable, spacious Could do with some more large bowls in the kitchen for fruit, salads etc. Also did not find any table mats.
- Martin (8/5): Relaxing stay - The house is very well situated, a comfortable home and great for a relaxing weekend break. Access to the property itself was quite steep. The description in the details does state that the stairs to the bedrooms are also steep, but does not mention that the third bedroom is on the second floor, via another set of (steep) stairs. The bathroom on the first floor, so whoever sleeps in the top (double) room has to negotiate them during the night! However, thankfully there is a loo on the ground floor for daytime use 😀.

- Grace (8/5): Great place to stay in Arnside! - Comfy bed, large fluffy towels and enjoyed sitting in the room off the kitchen. Also great view from the top bedroom. Some coat hooks in the hall would have been useful, as would couple more pans in the kitchen such as a frying pan and a small pan. Also a few more basics such as kitchen towel and pepper. Stairs were steep but we knew this before going.
- Richard (8/5): Lovely location, plenty parking, great house for a family, lovely scenery and some lovely walks - Very roomy and comfortable , washing machine, dryer Could have done with a better clean before we arrived
- Joël Henneghien (9/5): -
- Maura (9/5): Wonderful spot to stay - Super location. Lovely views. Property well maintained and very comfortable For a holiday let, it was perfect.
- David (8/5): We had a lovely time and Caroline the host was also very nice and kind to us and helped every step of the way it is a lo - Property is in a lovely location for the area it is well maintained and looked after to a high standard and a lot of thought and work has gone into it Biggest one for us would be no garden and nowhere you can sit outside with a family and a pet we found this quite difficult
- Gill (10/5): Great - Fab No outside space but so close to the promenade, so not a problem
- Sally (8/5): Very good location - Nice spacious house, very conveniently located for the shops, pubs and cafés on the estuary front. Of course the best part of Carr Garth is THE VIEW from the top bedroom - the estuary and the viaduct stretching out before you - wonderful. Stairs in the property are very steep and people with mobility problems might not find them easy. Nice shower room and good towels and helpful to have a second toilet downstairs. Sitting room comfortable and fine for four guests, although a bit dark in the daytime. We enjoyed our stay and would return. Recommended. As previous guests have noted, the kitchen would benefit from more equipment. What was there (in our opinion) was the minimum. No bowl for salad or serving vegetables and another medium saucepan would have been useful. Towels from the previous guests left in the washing machine. Just small things which, if attended to, would make the house even nicer.
- Louise (10/5): Excellent stay with lovely sunny weather - Great location. Lovely house. Everything we needed.
- Lily (9/5): Lovely stay - would recommend - Excellent location, lovely little village. Property was very clean and the bed sheets were comfortable. We only stayed a few days but had we been there longer I can imagine it would have been good to have a few more cups/bowls/pans.
- Eve (9/5): Great location, lovely house - Great location, well decorated, cosy lounge, good facilities - washing machines, TV, shower etc. The kitchen was slightly dated and unfortunately the fridge had food from previous renters in
- Louise (10/5): Excellent stay and have rebooked - Central location. Comfortable. Layout worked well. No keys required. Spacious for 4 adults. Nothing to dislike. No reserved parked but not a real issue. Would not suit anyone with disabilities as stairs steep and steep hill to climb but again no problem for anyone reasonable fit.
- Denver (8/5): We had a wonderful few days in Arnside - lovely location and property. - Carr Garth was a comfortable property in a beautiful location with amenities close to hand There was crockery, cutlery and glasses available but it would benefit from a few more dishes to go in the microwave and oven.
We couldn’t get the gas hob to work (but this may have been us).
- Lynda (10/5): Wonderful stay in a beautiful house and village. - Location was brilliant. Getting somewhere to park was quite tricky but in the end we found an excellent spot.
Good location and very spacious house with good amenities. Decor was tasteful and contemporary. Very minor niggle was that the pillows were very flat and better ones would have been nice and the cushions on the settee were spiky with the feathers coming out - these are just very minor points and on the whole was excellent.
- Ed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (9/5): Perfect! - Perfect location, lots of room, very quiet , host left tea coffee and small milks in a tray which was lovely. Towels and hairdryer available .
Instructions to get into the property were super easy and folder with manuals for all appliances WiFi etc to hand. The only thing that makes could be a dislike , which i knew this before going to the property but just not having designated parking . Although this really isn’t an issue as there is street parking and all of our cars found a spot very easily
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house, very reasonably priced , in great location Parking not on the doorstep, but this was not an issue
- Barry (9/5): Exactly what we wished for - and better. Even the weather was great. Happily return anytime. - Quiet street but just minutes from the promenade, pier, pubs and cafes. 10 mins to local convenience store-well stocked-and fish and chips (excellent). 15 mins to the station with hourly trains to Silverdale (station 5 mins from RSPB reserve and visitor centre at Leighton Moss. Trains also across viaduct to Grange, Ulverston, Barrow. Good choice of walks along the shore and through the miles of natural woodland surrounding the village (must National Trust). Great views from the pier, Arnside Knott, and the Top Floor. Perfect for those without a car. Better light for reading in the Library.
Perhaps a helpful explanation of the tide sirens. Another walker on the beach told us they were "just testing".
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Luc (9/5): Fabulous comfortable stay, ideal house, great views, in a great location, with a great host. - Very comfortable and clean house with fantastic views, especially from the master bedroom. Ideal house and location for our short stay. Booking experience was easy and out host was very easy to contact and very pleasant with their messages. Only slight comment would be that there could be more crockery, glasses and pans. When cooking and catering for 5, you run out quickly, but this is a very minor comment, the accommodation is fantastic, in an amazing location and well worth a visit.
- Yanmei (10/5): very nice - I booked room for my friends from China. Room is very clean and nice. Nice view from the top room. They had lovely time. We will come again. one bed in a single room a bit small.
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (8/5): Very good - The view is absolutely stunning and the location is perfect right on the front with shops and pubs. Comfortable and clean throughout. Everything you needed was avaliable ie hairdryer, pots pans, etc. Beautiful house and rooms. The roof was leaking in the dining room and soaked our coats. We had trouble getting the boiler on as it kept saying over run and couldn't get through to the owner after 10pm, despite an agreed later arrival time. Had to search for the cot and work out how to put it up when we arrived at 9pm rather than it already being prepared like other places have. We brought cot blankets but there was no available linen for it. It was brand new in a cardboard box and so didn't see it at the back of the cupboard under the staits when searching so had to ring the owner to find out where it was, but they didnt know either. Stairs to a loft room are quite steep to manage with a 1 year old but the room itself is lovely. Didn't realise the room would be in the loft.
- Lynn (9/5): A great place to stay! - Style. Well equipped. Not much
- Denise (9/5): Attractive comfortable house with great downstairs layout for dogs - Layout was good. Nicely decorated and very comfortable and clean. Comfy beds. A bit more kitchen equipment would be great such as mixing bowl, salad bowl, potato peeler etc. But this is a small point.
- Richard (9/5): Cosy and a bit quirky house in a great location. - The house had a cosy feel, but was spacious for five (and a dog). Furnishings and decoration were very nice, especially the bedrooms, the double room on the top floor having great views over the estuary. It's walking distance to two pubs, a chip shop and other shops. There is no private parking, although we always found spaces for two cars on the nearby road.
- Ray (8/5): Very good - Lovely accommodation and excellent location On street parking and blocked basin
- Graham (10/5): EXCELLENT. A really enjoyable stay. - Excellent location, Downstairs layout was perfect for dogs with plenty of space to dry off etc.
Comfortable and warm lounge perfect after a days walking. Very good WiFi with smart TV. Kitchen well equipped except there were not enough pans. With an additional two medium size pans and a small frying pan it would been fine.
- Rosie (10/5): Lovely property in excellent location. - Excellent location. Lovely property.
- Jane (8/5): Romantic views of trains crossing the viaduct - In a fabulous location with gorgeous views over the estuary from the top bedroom - even in the rain!
Well equipped with a clean bathroom and a great shower. Just could have done with a few coat hooks in the hall and a cafetiere for real coffee. The decor in the lounge was a little dark and the top bedroom heater wasn't very warm, but still a great place for a few days break. Some cute shops and cafes and a good pizza place just a couple of minutes walk down the lane. Parking on a narrow road behind the house. Walkable distance to Arnside railway station.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Redpath (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lindsay (9/5): Fabulous weekend chilling with friends. - Lovely. Downstairs space lovely. Bedrooms were spacious. View from top floor amazing. It would be nice to have a hairdryer.
Beds are quite firm. Too firm for some of my group to sleep well. Otherwise fabulous.
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Serena (8/5): Very good -
- Clare (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully furnished, everything you could need for a comfortable stay
- Joanne (9/5): A warm, cosy property in a beautiful unspoilt area - The property was beautifully furnished and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. We appreciated being able to bring our dog with us. The location is perfect, with lovely individual shops, pubs and a fish and chip shop nearby. Also, there is an excellent Booths supermarket a few miles away. The views across the Kent Estuary from the waterfront are incredible. We would recommend a visit to Leighton Moss RSPB reserve where we received a warm welcome. The footpaths and boardwalks are very well signposted there. It is a shame there is no dedicated parking for the property although we were always able to park on the street nearby. A small suggestion - we would have appreciated hand wash at the sinks in the property. Everything else was catered for though.
- Nina (9/5): Superb -
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (10/5): Very relaxing, beautiful views from the property. - Very central location, easy level walk to train station with trains to Grange-over-Sands. High quality bedding and soft furnishings, cosy and warm. Could do with a few serving dishes or larger bowls in the kitchen.
- Claire (10/5): Amazing place beauful scenery peace and quiet very relaxing - The property has everything you need. The location is amazing with little shops and pubs Jody a short walk away. The bedrooms have breathtaking view exceptionally peace and quiet amazing. Great train service just a short walk away Will definitely be re-visiting this place we didn’t stay long enough. Nothing
- Deborah (9/5): Superb -
- Tobias (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is pretty awesome. I think you cannot run too many appliances at the same time, then there is not enough power.
The top room does not have a door, and someone might turn its lights on accidently from the lower floor, which might wake you up at night. Even the corridor lights from below will light up this room a lot. Also, it is attached somehow to the lower floor, so that it can shake quite a bit if someone heavy is walking below.
There could be more dishware, but it is not important.
