- Bernard (8/5): -
- Edgardo (10/5): - Buenas instalaciones, excelente atención del personal. Muy atentos y disponibilidad para ayudar Todo bien
- William (10/5): - Everything was very clean, with kind staff and really comfy private bedrooms. The cleaning service was available when requested by the guests. The drinks were at a reasonable price. The location was good. There was free coffee during the day. There were really nice spots to work if you are a nomad or remote worker/student. The internet connection is stable and reliable. Overall, it is a very nice place to stay. In our private bedroom on the 3rd floor, there was no AC. The bad thing is that the sun’s direction was towards our side wall. Medellín tends to have rainy and sort of fresh weather seasons, but we went on sunny and hot weather days (during the day), so during the day we felt the heat so badly. Minor disadvantages: there were not enough wall sockets close to the beds and no shelves to put the clothes on.

- Lina (10/5): Recomendado sin duda - Es central con excelente relación calidad precio Las almohadas
- Rebecca (10/5): -
- Federico (9/5): - The place is excellent: very cozy, not too big, and perfect for meeting people but also for chilling. That really feels like the main vibe of the hostel.
Another major strength is the staff, especially the receptionists. I met all of them and chatted with everyone — they were absolutely helpful, pleasant, funny, and buena gente (as they say in Colombia).
The place is clean and overall I highly recommend it, especially if you are traveling alone. The level of the bedrooms was not adequate compared to the standard most hostels have nowadays, especially the beds. Mine had very old sheets and the beds looked generally old, not very sturdy, and quite basic.
In my room it was difficult to get good ventilation, even with the windows open 24/7, and this is something I also heard from other hostel mates.
- Caroline (10/5): A wonderful stay in a very friendly hostel with great helpful staff too. - A wonderful hostel in every way. Clean, modern and well laid out with several different common areas to chill including a roof terrace. Very friendly vibe and a big table ensured everyone was included. Staff was so helpful as well. All good, no negatives
- Rylan (10/5): - Great social hostel with kitchen and great facilities Location is a bit random but you can get cheap Ubers

- Lale (10/5): - This was my second stay at this hostel—my first was almost 9 years ago! It’s a super social place without being a full on party place and the location is great too. The room and bed is really comfortable, and the whole place is spotless. The staff are always friendly and helpful, just like last time. Plus, the beers are cheap, which is always a bonus!

- Jacob (10/5): Great loocation, friendly people, plenty to do - Well located in Poblado, a smart end of town. The metro is in easy walking distance as are a couple of nice little restaurants and supermarkets close by..The South Bus Station is a short taxi ride away. The neighbourhood is safe and leafy green. The staff are friendly and helpful with advice on where to go and what to do. There are different common areas to meet fellow travelers or to sit quietly and relax. There's a good kitchen if you want to cook. I ended up staying here much longer than planned. It's great. All good, really. I enjoyed everything.
- Nikolaus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabella (9/5): Good value for money & social - Staff were super lovely, kitchen was decent (although some of the hob rings didn’t work very well!), location felt very safe and there were lots of different areas to chill out in. Beds were comfy and room I was in (6 bed dorm) was a decent size with lots of lockers and a nice bathroom. Hostel was very social but felt like there were areas I could hide away in if I felt like I didn’t want to socialise. Only 1 small fan in the room so bedroom was pretty warm at night
- Charlotte (9/5): Superb - Super social. Great for meeting people.
- Elin (10/5): Stay here - A very social hostel with a nice kitchen, located in a safe area not too far from supermarkets and restaurants. Receptionists were awesome and very friendly!! Easily one of the best hostels I stayed at during my 9 week trip through Colombia :) No curtains for the bunk beds.
- Dan (7/5): Comfortable stay in Poblado - Really comfortable beds (private room) and good sized, clean kitchen. Great communal areas including rooftop and sofa area. Little walk from the main area of Poblado and also we found it to be a little less social than we expected
- Silviaronc (9/5): Nice hostel to meet people - The vibe in the hostal, the bed and rooms were comfortable and bathrooms clean. The showers very big. The location is a bit far from bars and restaurants, there are a couple nearby but not much choice
- Bhav (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Max (9/5): Superb - It's a well located and very decent hostel option in Medellin. Staff were very kind and helpful in the main. Very sociable and close to metro and some good food/drink options.

- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olga (9/5): Great place, accessible as is near a metro, friendly staff - Confortable room with agood window N/A
- Hiram (10/5): This is my 3rd time staying at the Blavk Sheep Hostel. The Staff is amazing. Also explain very well how to get around Me - The property is clean, in a great location. The Metro is a short walk. Parque Lleras is a short walk away. There’s not much NOT to like. I had none complains.
- Alberta (10/5): Exceptional - Very excellent place. Great staff, llovely neighborhood Nothing
- Rebecca (6/5): Very clean, excellent kitchen facilities, quiet location in El Poblado. Very young crowd so as a solo traveller in early -
- Eve (7/5): Good -
- Christian (9/5): Superb -
- Carolina (8/5): Great location - The hostel is located 10 min walk to restaurants and supermarkets and 15 walk from the metro station.
As a solo traveler in my 40s I really appreciate the room in 3rd floor, as I could go down to socialize when I wish.
The common kitchen is well equipped and clean.
The hostel offered regular different tours. I recommend the Guatape and walking tour.
The hostel is a bit of a party hostel in the sense that people will be chatting and drinking in the front garden and in the terrace upstairs but is not in your face and everyone is out by 11.
I end up extending my staying by 3 extra days. The room is very basic with a desk, chair and armchair. It does not have a closet or hangers. The only light is very dark, and there is not a full mirror. I had to use the shared bathrooms to apply a bit of makeup as it was too dark to see in the evening.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lumsdon (10/5): Exceptional - Great big private rooms with ensuite I wanted to stay longer but they had no availability
- Peter (10/5): another great visit to my 2nd home - the team are still the same which made it feel like home, knowing everyone there and them remembering me is fantastic. the place is always clean and the staff can't do enough for you. always on hand to help, advice or just a chat, the weather, but that's in gods hands!
- Marianna (8/5): A great hostel (with nice facilities) in a very good location - Our room in Black Sheep was so nice (and I don’t believe the photos on Booking.com do it justice).
The facilities were perfect and the staff were super lovely. A great stay. Nothing to report
- Katie (8/5): Very good - Clean, quiet, comfortable Location is on quieter side of El Poblado - not a bad thing depending on what you like!
- Dominic (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice place, great location in a quiet area of El Poblado, friendly social vibe and a nice size (not too big or too small). Friendly and helpful staff. Free coffee and cheap beers! Good facilities. Dorm beds slightly basic but it’s still great value for money. No breakfast - part of the deal but worth being aware of.
- Mcmanus (8/5): Very good -
- Lisanne (8/5): Very good - Really kind staff, clean and good location. It is noisy since it is kind of a party hostel
- Wayne (8/5): Very good -
- Moritz (10/5): Exceptional - We had a really good time at the Black Sheep Hostel. The neighborhood is quite and safe and you can easily walk to the center of El Poblado and the metro, the rooms are clean and quite. The staff is super friendly, they answer all your questions and give you nice recommendations. We could even store our luggage for five days while we flew to the pacific coast. So from our experience, we can say it’s a 10/10
- Zachary (10/5): Exceptional - Clean with friendly and helpful staff.
- Beau (10/5): Exceptional - Staff are really welcoming & informative
Properly was clean
- Julien (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tadej (10/5): Fancy place to stay in Medellin - Nice, clean, super comfortable, friendly and helpful staff. Quite close to metro and located in quite neighbourhood. The place is popular (for a good reason) and it’s getting crowdy when it’s crowded. The price follows the popularity.
- Jiří (9/5): Really good hostel with everything you need - Really good location with all important facilities nearby - shop, restaurants, fiesta zone, metro station… Great and experienced staff which explains everything in detail. It was hard to ventilate the room.
- Luke (9/5): Superb -
- Sorcha (8/5): Nice and comfortable - Really chilled hostel in a quiet part of El Poblado. Private room was comfortable and everything worked well. Social areas were social and there are daily tours but no night events organised by the hostel. The hostel is a 5 minute uber from the party area and a 10 minute walk to the metro station. I was able to get a really a good night's sleep but the walls are a bit thin if you have noisy neighbours in the private rooms.
- Mark (10/5): Better than it looks online - Great hostel in poblado, one of our favourites in Colombia. Staff are really helpful, good location and rooms, facilities and the kitchen are kept very clean and are much better than shown in the pictures. Good social hostel also. They also sell beers for£1 which is nice. Nothing! They should update pictures as it's been renovated since the pictures on booking.com and doesn't do the hostel justice.
- Zaky (9/5): Awesome - Amazing social vibes, staff was unbelievable. Showed was great A bit pricey for what you get
- Darcy (10/5): Exceptional - Great hostel, friendly staff, good outdoor areas and showers. Social hostel but also can have a good sleep if you want Need to update pictures is better then what it looks on internet !
- Alice (7/5): Good - Well located! Staff lovely. Quite overpriced for the basic facilities offered.
- Colby (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (8/5): Very good -
- Hannah (9/5): social, nice clean stay - Good wifi, big clean rooms, workspaces and free towels etc. Easy to meet people and then go to activities at the other bigger hostels if you wanted only reason I put lower was curtain in the bed and other hostels with a pool were cheaper
- Yakoob (10/5): Best hostel in Medellin - Extremely nice location, great social environment and amazing staff that are always there to make sure your trip is a blast
- Bernd (10/5): All good -
- Rain_l11 (10/5): Highly recommended - Friendly staff, top location The lighting in the room needs to be improved
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Matthias (7/5): Good -
- Jackson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fisher (8/5): Very good -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Great location and super nice staff - I stayed a total of 4 nights in a private room with a private bathroom. Lovely rooms and nice, updated bathrooms. The staff is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location was about a 10 minute walk to the metro and I felt comfortable walking there alone (along a well traveled road). The neighborhood is really pretty and quiet. I had my laundry done at the hostel - quick turnaround and beautiful job. Everything was wonderful. As to be expected in a hostel, there is some noise from people using the facilities. I wore earplugs at night and slept well.
- Paige (10/5): The best hostel in Medellin by far! - The staff are SO welcoming and friendly. Great kitchen and chill areas. Cheap and quick laundry service too. Cute neighbourhood with GREAT local cafes. Nothing! It was great.
- Barbara (9/5): Superb - Good location, helpful and knowledgeable staff, very clean rooms, well equipped, very comfortable bed. Sociable if you wanted to be! Had room with private bathroom. Nothing to dislike, but more availablity of rooms with twin beds would be nice
- Lorenzo (9/5): Superb -
- Jared (9/5): Great staff, great location, and all you'll need for your stay in Medellin - I stayed in a private room, so cannot speak for the dorms. I found the room to be simple yet comfortable. The AC worked wonderfully and the shower pressure was great too (actually the best I had in all my Colombian hostels). The place itself is very peaceful, super well located but hardly any outside noise. I was able to get a good night's rest each night. The staff, as you'll see in other rooms, is amazingly kind and helpful. I liked as well that the hostel itself could be both peaceful yet social at the same time. The door locks on the private rooms were quite basic (had to lock the door from the inside and then close it when you leave). I didn't have any problems and the place itself felt safe and secure, but if you're looking to improve something, perhaps improving the lock system on the private rooms or adding safes.
- Keegan (10/5): Exceptional - Close to both the metro station and many restaurants, bars, etc. of Poblado, Black Sheepo Medellin exceeded expectations. A clean and comfortable space with many places for remote work. The atmosphere was always social The kitchen was busy at times and the room was a bit warm, but people made space and the fans helped!
- Colby (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harrington (10/5): Lovely staff, felt very welcome. - Lovely staff
- Danielle (8/5): Very good - Best sleep we’ve had while travelling. Big kitchen. Staff were helpful. Quite a few social areas Room didn’t get cleaned/bins weren’t emptied during our stay
- Brett (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bogdan (10/5): Exceptional - Very good location, close to everything and also "far" from the noise. The hostal is very clean and tidy. Comfy beds. One of the receptionists had a very bad attitude one night, but eventually it got sorted. Even though no excuses were given, his mistake was acknowledged by his co-workers. Still giving a "10" because i had a very nice stay there and overall in medellin.
- Aoife (10/5): Great value for money in a good area. - Really clean, spacious rooms & friendly staff
