Guest Reviews
- nick (10/5): - Just nice, people are very cool and good breakfast i like everything
- Alessandra (10/5): -
- Paula (9/5): - Las habitaciones son muy amplias y la piscina está muy bien. El desayuno era muy completo y muy bueno, pero siempre era lo mismo.
- Nahikari (7/5): - El lugar estaba bien y buena localización.
- Viviers (2/5): This place should not be allowed to have a 3 star rating. PERIOD -
- Angel (8/5): - Jardin magnifique, belle piscine.
- Katherine (3/5): I did not enjoy my stay in this place - Close to the beach and it had a pool It was dirty and uncomfortable..the bedsheets were rough and i couldn’t sleep on them. The toilet wasn’t clean and the room smelled bad
- Philip (1/5): Bad - Swimming pool was nice, when it was clean. The food in the restaurant was delicious, but took ages to prepare. Friendly staff, and a reasonable location, but so many issues. No hot water, water going off randomly, no water pressure. I really can't recommend it. The manager was drunk the first night we arrived, they tried to put us in a room with no water, the swimming pool not cleaned regularly. Compared with resorts nearby, where the price is similar, and which are a lot better, they should be charging half what they do.
- Joo (5/5): One night - The place is so quiet area nice for resting no activity around the staff only two nice guys very friendly soliman and yousf I enjoyed with them The staff nice and helpfully people
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Thembi (2/5): Very poor -
- Liliana (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, house surrounded by greenery. Beautiful view from the balcony. Everywhere is clean and nice. The breakfast was terrible, poor. The only good thing was lemongrass tea from the garden, delicious. The fruits are tasty, but very small. No vegetables. For a whole week I only ate eggs and fruit because the bread was terrible. We were given nothing more.
- Bronwyn (7/5): A pleasant stay - The staff friendly, accommodating our requests, making our stay comfortable The power cuts incovenient but not the fault of the guesthouse. A general problem in the area
- Delphine (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet place with a nice pool and welcoming staff, clean and very good breakfast
- Ioanna (1/5): Bad - The location was nice. Awful service, the worst ever in Africa. They have done double booking and we struggled for hours to find a solution. We were forced to stay in room under construction, it was really dirty and we
found cockroaches. Also we struggled to pay by card because they insisted that the pos was out of order.
- Anne (8/5): Very good - The quiet feel of the place. Nothing
- Alexandra (10/5): Amazing - The staff is simple the best, isacc and Lavinia were amazing, helping in everything and a Good company at night, Don’t have vigilante at night
- Mudzi (6/5): Pleasant - Liked the staff, breakfast and swimming pool When we arrived it was dirty. The place wasn't cleaned on the first day of arrival. It was like they weren't aware that we were coming yet we booked in advance.
- Maj (8/5): Very good - The room on the second floor was very nice. The breakfast was sooo big and plentiful. The staff was very welcoming. The pool, the garden and the whole area is so beautiful. There's an interesting cave beach just a 5 minute walk away. If you're looking for a peaceful and quiet location, this is perfect. The dinner was not suitable for vegetarians, as they only had a set dinner every night which had meat in it. On the first night when we arrived quite late, they prepared potato fries for us, for 10 usd per person, which was quite a horrible price for 2 potatoes 😂There was no menu, or even any drinks except warm beer or water available. Luckily there's a lot of other places nearby where we could eat.
- Dagmar (10/5): Exceptional - If you are looking for a small cute lovely place the Embe lodge is for you.
Wonderful staff, nice pool, lovely garden, very good food breakfast and diner.
Just paradise to chill
Thanks to Anita and Lavena and Issac
- Aura (10/5): Exceptional - Anita gave us the best breakfast ever! The swimming pool also enabled us to have some nice time after wandering the town, searching for beaches. And the beds were super comfy. It's a great place to stay!
- Rømer (10/5): Exceptional - Loves the authentic Cabin and loved the staff.
What a charming place. We was there a month, so we really experinced it all. Our hostes was a absolut dream. So sweet and helpfull. Extremely helpfull. The rest of the staff was always so Nice. The Food was so authentic and tasted amazing everytime. So If your looking for a true tenzanian experince, this is the place. Would highly recommend. The road to get there. But that has nothing to do with the accommodation
- Scheffler (9/5): Great accommodation with pool - We had a wonderful stay at Embe Lodge. Everything is very well maintained and clean. It's not far to the beach and you can go on lots of excursions. The place exudes peace and comfort. We liked it so much that we even came back a second time. Anita is the best. She takes care of us with a lot of love and joy. The food is also very tasty, everything is fresh and home-cooked. You can also make requests. A clear recommendation, great value for money. Nothing
- Annette (9/5): Superb - Fabulous location in quiet Kizimkaze, minutes from the beach. Water was not warm for shower
- Joe (8/5): Great value for money. - Breakfast was great. Next door is a lovely restaurant for lunch. Very helpful staff who helped organise a tour on short notice so very grateful for that. Swimming pool was lovely and the staff are very relaxed and happy to chat. Wifi didn’t reach bedroom but fine in tabled area.
Can’t be helped but our room had loads of ants both in the bedroom and bathroom.
Towels were stained.
- Brooke (7/5): Good people just getting started. - Staff did their best to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed on the second day of new management, very new to the whole endeavor. I trust they will work out the kinks and run a nice business.
- David (7/5): Not bad and ‘Kameleon Blue Lodge right next door is definitely a huge plus as a restaurant/bar hangout!! - I liked that it was next door to the extremely tasteful and warm ‘Kameleon Blue’ Lodge!! Toilet seat & toilet dispenser broken and there is No Air Conditioning other than a fan…. which went off with the power & as a result hard to sleep in humid 30°C weather..?!!
- Franz (3/5): i have no idea why this accomodation have this good rating - the staff was ok and friendly and hospitallity breakfast all day the same food, the bycicles was bad, only the picture in the homepage was good, not possible to ride normally without a brake or changing the gears , the bathroom was in a terrible condition, especially the shower and the toilet , the sleeping room was ok , only many insects was there all day in the evening, many times without electricity
- Gudrun (1/5): Bad - Despite a confirmed booking, our room was given to someone else. Another hotel was found for us. This took a very long time and our holiday was ruined. The next day there were discussions about 3 dollars when we were promised to pay the price difference
- John (8/5): Very good - The location was nice. The staff were friendly. It was very rustic. My bed was a little uncomfortable. There was no hot water.
- Margit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (7/5): Good -
- Simon (5/5): Passable - The staff was nice (they cooked us a nice meal)! The place is near to the sea but far away from anything else , our door room couldn’t close, our floor, towel and bed was dirty, there was spiders in the room, the mousticos protection wasn’t big enought to protect all the bed … etc. This place needs to be finished to be well enough.
- Jalil (9/5): Lovely people running a lovely lodge - Beautiful location and lodge garden. Very tranquil environment. It had been raining heavily and electricity was off for about 7 hours before generator was connected.
- Gosia_e (10/5): Exceptional - The pool, the food, the staff (thank you Lopez and Hadżi!!!) The beautiful beach walking distance. You can have such a relaxing time there, not like those crazy places in Nungwi and Paje...
- Maciej (10/5): Little paradise - The swimmingpool and the whole garden area of the place. The guys runing it are really keen on having guests, hard working and happy. They have an easy going style, it is a nice place to chill, relax, swim a lot in the pool, 10 min walking distance from the village. Very quiet at night, a paradise. Everything was good
- Laurin (10/5): Great lodge with wonderful staff! - The staff is lovely and helps, wherever they can. They made us (a wonderful) dinner, played us music from Tanzania (we were the only guests and they wanted to show us, what kind of music they listen to). They even offered us to organize a dolphin tour (we saw lots of them).
They are still building more houses for guests, I think this is a great project to support. The pool is already finished, so no worries about that :)
Breakfast was also great with lots of local fruits and juices.
The dog Juma also helps to keep up the relaxed atmosphere (he's very friendly and loves scratches)
- Steinheber (10/5): Exceptional - The room was very spacious and had two double beds in it as well as a ventilator. The owner is really nice and can provide you with a lot of information about activities not just for Kizimkazi but for stone town as well. The breakfast was exquisite with a fruit platter and lots of different food for you to try There was no door or curtain for the bathroom
- Alex (9/5): Overall very good price-performance ratio. - Very nice staff and always available for anything we needed! The place is also very nice and has a relaxing local atmosphere. Breakfast is really good. Overall very good price-performance ratio :) Warm water was not working but that is not a problem for us. The bar and restaurant is nice but it would be nice to see a menu for ordering. The swimming pool was not so clean in the morning but after 10 am it was perfectly clean.
- Martin (7/5): Good - Room had bathroom with hot water, balcon. There is nice swimming pool, in our time clean water. Breakfest was good, great juice, but without fruit. Is possible use bicycles. Kind staff. Altough there is close a little beach, is very dirty, and better beach is somehow far, cca 15 minutes in upper village by bad road. Also this place is isolated, not too much restaurant, which are expensive on local situation.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was nice. The place is great with a garden and à swimingpool. Breakfast was good. Thank you.
- Oscar (10/5): Great staff - Staff and quite for serenity and leisure
- Maria (7/5): Good - The staff is super nice, they were very welcoming. The reservations manager was super fast solving a problem that I had.
The room is really pretty, private bathroom with everything you need (towel, shampoo and shower gel) and a beautiful balcony overlooking a “jungle-like” area. Perfect for relaxing or reading in the evenings.
The breakfast is very complete, I was really fulfilled after having it. Fruits, crepes (delicious) and coffee or tea. They are starting so not many people there yet. Sure they will take off soon.
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff, good breakfast, compfy big beds, en suite, good value for money. Could use a moquito net over the bed.
Location accessible only via bumpy road.
- Houda (8/5): A little piece on heaven on earth, I would highly recommend - Cozy room with a balcony facing a beautiful garden. Free bicycles are available for guests if you want to discover the neighborhood.
The staff is absolutely great. Thank you Feisal and Hamida for making us feel at home, you are amazing! The swimming pool’s water level would often go down despite being regularly refilled so we could not enjoy it as much as we would have wanted. There probably was a leak somewhere.
- Cristina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (7/5): Lovely lodge stooped in nature with a quiet atmosphere. Good value for money but nothing too fancy! - Really beautifully done. The gardens are very well maintained and the hammocks and seats and plant-life are gorgeous. Feysal and Laurine were so friendly and helpful with kindness and excellent English. I felt very safe here. Nice hostel next door for food and atmosphere The pool wasn’t clean. The WiFi didn’t stretch to the rooms. The walls were thin so I could easily hear conversations between other guests. The breakfast was not very pleasant. No refillable taps for filtered water
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional - Embe Lodge is a hidden gem in Kizimkazi! I had a spacious room with a balcony and beautiful view on the garden. The garden is quite big, very pretty and has a pool. A stunning cliff side and a sand beach are in close walking distance and also the staff was very lovely! I’ll definitely be back when around!!
