Guest Reviews
- Caroline (9/5): A delightful spacious cottage in a quiet secluded location, well equipped and comfortable. Good location to explore Nor - It was very spacious and well laid out. And everything was there. The location was lovely and quiet although the very potholed access road was tiresome. The property was self contained and secluded with ample parking. It was fun being in the grounds of a castle! We appreciated the clean half way through our stay with new bedding and towels which was unusual but lovely to have. The cottage was warm and comfortable. We were surprised that there was no welcome manual/ information booklet for the property. We worked out most things but a ‘ book of words’ would have been helpful, perhaps with suggestions about where to eat out, what particular sights were recommended etc - this is fairly usual for holiday cottages. There were tourist information leaflets( although out of date) and other books but theses don’t really match the usefulness of recommendations .
The private access track beside the castle is so potholed that an incautious driver could wreck their suspension or puncture a tyre. It is especially hazardous in the dark. This should be addressed as a matter of urgency.
The microwave was tiny and could really do with replacing with a bigger one. A pack of microwave rice didn’t even fit in it! There are a couple of health and safety issues- when first used the shower water is scalding hot and that is a danger. The doors have shiny brass knobs which are entirely in character with the property...but persons with weak or arthritic hands might struggle, indeed the warped lounge door if fully closed/latched, could trap a person inside the room unable to open the door. It nearly happened to us on a couple of occasions
I saw in the pictures that there were lots of DVD’s provided for a rainy day which was helpful UNTIL we discovered every single DVD was opera!! and there were a lot of them!,,we left some of our own for future guests and some books.
- Alan (9/5): very clean, very quiet, very warm, comfortable beds with heated blankets, everything we needed was s - Slightly pot holed road on access
