- John (8/5): - Property was well situated, and really liked the place. Lived the outdoor seating. The lack of storage from a hostel point of view for food and also lack of cooking facilities. I had considered booking here for climbing trip with my clients, but decided against it. It would have been difficult to sort food otherwise. Beds are obviously signed to last for groups of kids, but in honesty found the way they were laid out a bit of a pain to get in to. For kids this would have been fun in some ways.

- Sara (9/5): Good stay - Good bedroom size with private bathroom. we had access to a little kitchen with cups, plates, cutlery and a dinning area. Location was ok, with parking in the street and close to the beach. Check in was very smooth. There were 5 of us in a room for seven, so 2 extra beds made the room look less spacious, but that was not a problem.

Although they did not have a full kitchen offered to put up a gas hob on next visit if needed The kitchenette did not have a stove which meant we could not cook our food after a long day of climbing.

- Simmone (6/5): Great for a night - Room had a waterside view which was lovely to see in the morning. Bunk beds are too close together. Set of 3 in a small room. Mattresses are like crash mats, hard and quite slim. Thankful it was just one night. Really would struggle if staying longer.

- Muhammad (3/5): Not worth staying. - Location was good It is a budget hostel so there was no expectation but the cleanliness and hygiene is a must have thing if you are in hospitality. As soon as you enter the property you can see the carpet being dirty. The chairs in the dining area literally had cuts and foam popping out.
- Charlotte (6/5): It was okay. - Portland Hostel is fine for a no frills accommodation for outdoor holidays. The bathroom is adequate. The shared kitchen is clean, well stocked with utensils with a cute little outdoor area. Check in is smooth. One of the best things about this place is the ground floor cafe attached to the hostel. Great range of value for money breakfasts, good coffee and service. Mattresses a bit too firm. I piled one on top of the other. Dorm beds a bit claustrophobic - too close together and not much room to move legs as under another bunk. Each bunk would benefit from it's own light and USB outlet like many other hostels have now.

Decent cleanness Push button shower is rudimentary... inconvenient as you need constantly push it to get water for several seconds. Pls consider getting a cheapest decent mixer for shower. Would be great to have towels for inside usage.

- Andrew (6/5): Comfortable enough and perfect for groups - Quiet, almost empty, so easy to use kitchen and courtyard. Nice location with a WW2 tank outside our window! I can see why groups love it as it is set up nicely for that. Shower was a bit weak. A nail started sticking up out of the floor on our last evening, but not a real issue and the staff were cheerful when I mentioned it. Overall, everything was basic but exactly what we expected and we were happy enough.

- Sofiia (5/5): Great if you just need somewhere to stay for one night, but no more - Everything is quite clean, good location, convenient accommodation Other people living in the hostel were incredibly noisy until late at night (1-2 am). Due to the poor soundproofing it was as if it was all happening in your room. The bathtub is quite clean, but after the previous guests there was hair that was not removed. The beds are hard and not very comfortable.
