Guest Reviews
- Fabíola (9/5): Staying for visit to Vatican - Very comfortable, clean, well equipped and spacious. Communication was good and clear. There are some restaurant options open late nearby and good transportation. It was a little noisy when people are taking on the streets, some clearer instructions on the shower would be helpful as it can burn you!
- Elisa (10/5): Excelente ! Maravilloso lugar - Muy lindo y cómodo. Todo limpio. Lástima haber estado tan poquito tiempo. Cristiana espectacular!
- Davide (9/5): -
- linda (10/5): La proprietaria disponibile - Molto pulita Nulla
- Daniel (10/5): Nocleg transferowy z całodniowym zwiedzaniem Rzymu (kolejny raz) - Mega wygodne łóżko. Kompletnie wyposażony aneks kuchenny. Świetna okolica, blisko dworca Trastevere, skąd świetne połączenie kolejowe na lotnisko Fiumicino. Bardzo sympatyczna Pani przekazująca klucze
- Scott (10/5): Fantastic property in a peaceful neighbourhood in Trastevere - The apartment was beautifully appointed with great facilities that ensured all the comfort of home. The location was also great with it being only a short, pleasant walk to reach the old Trastevere district as well as the key.monuments of Rome. Nothing. Everything about my stay was superb.
- Francesco (6/5): -
- Valentyna (10/5): - Tutto perfetto!!
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- Fiona (8/5): A quiet place to enjoy Trastavere - Good communication with the host made for an easy check in and we were able to ask for recommendations.
A good way out of the centre of the city in a very quiet area but easy to walk to buses and other public transport. The apartment is located in a basement down some very steep stairs. Would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
- Will (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely - calm, clean, great location. I’d recommend it!
- Povrženić (9/5): Superb - The apartment was very clean ad comfortable and location is safe and quiet.
- Mariam (10/5): Exceptional - It’s so cute, every detail at home is chosen well and the equipment is good quality.
The district is calm, after seeing touristic spots in Rome it’s good to take a little walk in this neighborhood to feel how calm Roman people lives.
Host is cutest❤️❤️
- Lizeth (9/5): Great place to stay! Good value of money! - The host was nice, helpful, and the place was clean, comfortable. None
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Great apartment for a couple. Noises from apartment above due to the nature of how sound carries in the building not that neighbours were being overly noisy
- Cristinaphoto (10/5): Perfect - I've stayed at Gianicolo Sweet Home before, so this time I just came straight here and I wasn't disappointed! Cristiana is always a kind, enthusiastic host that can't do enough to please and assist her guests. I checked out on a Sunday, when the big flea market (Porta Portese) is on and I had a problem with my ride. Cristiana was happy for me to check out much later in the day (they didn't have any check in that night) allowing me to spend a great day with my brother, do some shopping and have a nice meal without rushing.
The place is incredible value for money. It's a very good size, newly decorated. The kitchen has all you could possibly need including my beloved kettle (not sure if it was there last time, if not thanks for the addition!). It is a basement flat, so I would advise if you have a shower to open a window and allow to dry properly. It won't take long with the towel racks always nicely warm!
Location, location, location: although in a quiet residential street, if you take a right just coming out of the flat you'll have a majestic view of Rome right beside the building! Keep walking that way until where the road seems to end, and a few steps further you'll find these big antique steps taking you right in the middle of the action: on a Sunday, that means on what is in my opinion one of the best spots to start your visit of Porta Portese market (If you're into vintage linens, nightwear etc you can't miss Delia's stand!). On any other day, you'll find restaurants, shops, pubs and trams taking you to the Colosseum and the Centro Storico in minutes. If you're taking the steps back up, make sure you walk back and look up at them from a distance to see a beautiful graffiti of Frida Kahlo.
You can walk to the centre of the Trastevere Movida, the old heart of Rome; Statione 4 Venti for the Vatican, Trastevere Station for the airport. Nothing
- Sebastian (9/5): Superb -
- Alvina (9/5): Experience Rome without the chaos - It was very roomy and walkable to many places. Had everything I needed, especially since I stayed with my border collie. the kettle can use a little cleaning
- Elena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (8/5): Pretty good - Quiet and clean. The stairs are extremely steep with no handrail so be very careful. The Nespresso pod machine was a life saver. Good wifi. The host was very responsive to my questions which I really appreciated. The stairs. Also, a washing machine is listed as one of the amenities but there isn't one.
- Ekaterina (9/5): Superb -
- Edit (10/5): Helpful and flexible host. Nice flat in good location. - It was in a good location. We could easily access all the attracions by feet. The batroom is really nice. The kitchen is well equipped.
There is a luggage storage in front of the flat which was really helpful. The flat is half in the basement.
- Karen (10/5): Comfortable, clean, host is super nice. - The apartment is beautiful, comfortable and quiet. The WiFi was very good, strong enough for me to work. The host was very accommodating and has a space to store luggage if needed. It was a little further from things than I thought it would be and also up a steep hill - not at all a deal breaker, just something to know if you have heavy luggage or mobility challenges. But everything else was amazing, so I would stay again if I get back to Rome,
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Lg (8/5): Great location, peaceful, convenient - Very wonderful location near Trastevere, and there were great restaurants in the immediate area too. It was quiet and safe. The decorations were tasteful, can tell the host has an aesthetic eye :) The AC also worked amazingly, which helped during the heat wave. There is a bus route nearby (ATAC 75) which takes you directly to Colosseo. Washing machine was not in good condition and the bathroom had a dank smell sometimes. This might be due to being a basement unit as well as the heat wave that was happening at the time. Some of the kitchen ware could do with a replacement due to wear & tear.
- Oliver (8/5): Very good -
- Neilands (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shaun (9/5): Via Francegina Rome - Very clean, beautifully decorated with tasteful artwork. A pleasure to stay there. Can be a little noisy in the morning as there are other apartments nearby.
- Michelle (9/5): Loved it! - Location was great
Really enjoyed our stay.
Very respectable area, we felt very safe. This is been very picky but a couple of tea towels in the kitchen would be great 👍
Not suitable for someone that has trouble with stairs as they are very steep and the gate opens towards you from the top when leaving the property which feels unsafe to step backwards to move out of the way of the gate.
- Cristinaphoto (10/5): A hidden gem in the heart of Rome - I can't recommend Gianicolo Sweet Home enough! The flat is a half basement, a delicious perfect size for one person or a couple. The way the place is arranged is lovely. Smart use of space, quirky and tasteful decor. There's a small balcony at street level with a little bench if you fancy taking your coffee in the sun. The host was really nice, she was there waiting to give me the keys and she said she would be nearby if I needed anything. The kitchen had pretty much everything, and a nice coffee machine with a few capsules. But the best thing to me is the area. The street where the apartment is located is a hidden gem. Quiet, with an amazing view of Rome from the Gianicolo Hill, and if you walk to the very end, down the little alleyway with no pavement, you'll find some hidden steps taking you to the top of the Ugo Bassi steps, another secret Rome treasure with a beautiful portrait of Elena Sofia Ricci, and down the end of the steps you will be right in the middle of Trastevere, with all the trams you need to be anywhere in minutes. If you're not familiar, make sure you ask the host to point you out to the steps. A fantastic experience, can't wait to be back! Thank you. If I have to be picky, it would be nice to have a microwave. I don't use one at home, but when you're away you don't really want to spend time cooking and Italian supermarkets offer plenty of tasty options ready in minutes. Then again, you're in Trastevere so you'll probably eat out every day and night!
- Walker (1/5): Bad -
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Justyna (9/5): The host is very kind person, always willing to help, apartment is very cosy and locality is just the best. - We really appreciated the localization of the apartment and hospitality of the owner. Place is very cozy and there is everything, you may need during a stay. Apartment is situated slightly underground, so there is not much sunlight, but we still consider this place as great place to stay.
