• Mandy (10/5): Heerlijk verblijf - Top locatie, op loopafstand van het centrum/ strand. Onwijs leuke eigenaresse, vriendelijk personeel. Mooie en grote kamer. Ook voorzieningen als water, fruit en koffie/ thee, wassen, is in de gemeenschappelijke ruimte. Niks!

• Marcella Angeliene (M.A.) (9/5): Fantastisch! - Heerlijke kamer met goede sfeer, in mooie tuin gelegen. Fijn dat er een keuken is waar je water kan pakken en thee en koffie kan maken. Hele aardige behulpzame mensen. Had graag langer willen blijven. Aanrader!
• Ladina (10/5): - The staff were super friendly! We accidentally booked a room without AC, but they were very understanding and helpful, and because of the heat, they let us switch to an AC room.
• BUSE (10/5): - I had a really lovely stay here in Hiriketiya. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and the room was spacious, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. I especially loved the location—just outside the busy center, so it was peaceful and relaxing, yet still within walking distance to everything. They also helped me easily arrange a scooter from a neighbor nearby, which was very convenient. Overall, a great place to stay if you want a calm atmosphere while still being close to Hiriketiya’s main spots.

• ROB (10/5): Tropical House - Very relaxing sat on our balcony amongst the trees which gave a lovely tropical feel.We were woken by the Monkeys and Parrots playing in the trees which was fine by us...Very friendly staff with free fruit, cofffee and tea. Only a 5 min walk into the town . We had no air-conditioned just fans but we were fine but some may suffer from the heat .

Wir konnten einfach die Türen offen lassen und haben uns nicht gestört gefühlt - es gibt einen Waschraum, da konnten wir unsere Wäsche waschen - es roch immer etwas modrig, wenn wir zum Zimmer zurückkamen, was wohl an der hohen Feuchtigkeit liegt - das Zimmer hatte keinen AC, war wir jedoch empfehlen würden, dies nachzurüsten! Es war teilweise wirklich unerträglich in der Hitze und die Feuchtigkeit war fast ungenießbar

• Alexandra (10/5): Highly recommend if you want a beautiful place to stay that is slightly out of the hustle and bustle. - A truly beautiful large old home that has been thoughtfully renovated with an aesthetic flair. Cool and peaceful inside and out. Our host was welcoming and knowledgeable and really made it feel like she was welcoming us into her very special home.
• Charlotte (9/5): Sehr schöne, moderne und saubere Unterkunft - - sehr schön eingerichtete und moderne Unterkunft - tolles Haus - sehr nettes Personal - super sauber - eine AC wäre toll gewesen, da leider alles etwas klamm war nach unserem Aufenthalt - etwas außerhalb vom Ort, hat uns aber nicht gestört, da man mit den Tuk Tuk für 200 LKR in 2 Minuten da ist

• Tina (10/5): The best stay in Sri Lanka - I loved being here. It was so nice, green and quiet. I just booked 2 nights and prelonged for another two nights. The Stuff is very nice and helpful. And the facilities are very esthetical and spacious. I want to come back again.. very recommendable.

• Kay (7/5): Almost great - Wait House is a beautiful, grand property with a nice design aesthetic. The beds were very comfortable with nice linen. It is an easy 20min walk to the beach or a short tuk tuk ride. We booked 3 rooms expecting them to all have air conditioning which was not the case and was not clear during the booking process. We were not greeted by a host who might have been able to switch our rooms. The family room was very spacious but there was no ventilation or fan in the shower room which meant it was extremely hot.

• Julia (7/5): Overall, we enjoyed the spacious, modern Suite and the welcoming atmosphere. However, noise from barking dogs, thin wall - We stayed in the Suite facing the garden and really enjoyed our time there. The room was spacious, modern, and minimalistic—perfect for us as a couple. The bed was comfortable, and everything was clean and well-maintained. The location is great, just a short walk (around 15 minutes) or a quick scooter/TukTuk ride (about 3 minutes) from cafes and shops. As a thoughtful touch, they offer one free TukTuk ride, which we used on our first day in Hiriketiya. The internet connection was stable and reliable throughout our stay. We also appreciated the community kitchen, which provides drinking water 24/7, along with a kettle and tea. Laundry service is available in-house, with a turnaround time of 24–48 hours, depending on the weather. The owner and staff were kind and welcoming. While we enjoyed our stay overall, there were a few downsides during our almost one-week visit. The biggest issue was the noise at night. There are several dogs around the property that bark for hours, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. I have to mention that after two sleepless nights, they kindly offered us a room on the other side of the building, farther away from the barking dogs. Unfortunately, the walls are quite thin, so you can hear your neighbors talking—which isn’t a problem during the day but can be disruptive when you’re trying to sleep at 11 PM. We also experienced a few inconveniences with utilities. One day, there was no water for several hours. Additionally, there were daily power outages lasting an hour or more. While this seems to be a general issue in Hiriketiya and not the property’s fault, it’s something to be aware of. Another thing to note is the proximity to a temple. One day, ceremonies started very early in the morning and lasted late into the night. For everyone who’s sensitive to noise, it’s good to be prepared.

The wifi was fast which was a big plus for me. The staff were exceptional, always responsive and genuinely helpful, they made sure I had everything I needed, even helped me score a great deal on scooter rentals. I highly recommend staying here!

• Candice (9/5): Welcoming hidden gem - Exceptionally helpful staff, offered complimentary tuk tuk to Hiriketiya. The main beach is 12 minutes away, making it accessible whilst being in a quieter part. I enjoyed the view from the shower and the window that opens up to the lovely garden. Also like the shared kitchen with coffee and tea available and the friendly dogs. Would definitely stay again

The guesthouse is walking distance to everything in Hiriketiya, but in a very peaceful & quiet area. Maram (the owner) can give you all the best recommendations nearby. She’s so warm and welcoming, and really made my stay feel so special. The garden is what really makes this place stand out. It’s really peaceful and natural. Such an oasis and I loved waking up surrounded by so many plants and hearing the birds. I was only planning on staying for one night but I ended up extending! I definitely recommend coming to stay here
