• Tanja (9/5): Außergewöhnliche Unterkunft mit perfekter Lage. Jederzeit wieder! - Einfach alles! Wunderbare Lage, es war alles vorhanden auf kleinstem Raum , super Kontakt zum Vermieter.

• Majbritt Lykke (6/5): Sørg for at få løst problemerne på toilettet, da det fortæller meget om standarden. - Beliggenheden var god. Værelset havde en hyggelig atmosfære. Udsigten var god og med en terrasse, som gav et godt overblik over en del af byen. Værten var kontaktbar og svarede på spørgsmål og løste nogle af de ting som vi var utilfredse med. Sengen var alt for hård, man blev øm af at ligge i den. Badeværelset var småt, særligt brusekabinen hvor man dårligt kunne bade. Brusekabinen var beskidt og det lignede skimmelsvamp i kanterne. Toiletbrættet var gået i stykker og der manglede lys på badeværelset. Spejlene var sat i en højde, så de passede til små mennesker. Morgenmaden var ikke noget særligt, da udvalget var dårligt. Der var en proptrækker til rådighed, men den var knækket og kunne ikke åbne vores medbragte vin.

Der Gastgeber bemüht sich sehr um seine Gäste. Wir haben viele Informationen über Unternehmungen, Restaurants, Parkplatz usw. bekommen.

• Delphine (9/5): Belle localisation - Emplacement au top, les indications pour trouver l’appartement étaient impeccables. Plein centre, très proche des restaurants et visites à faire. Nous avions l’appartement “la Grotta”. Propre mais très très humide. Le coffre fort et les parties métalliques des luminaires étaient rouillés à cause de l’humidité. Une toute petite fenêtre, peu de lumière et quasiment pas d’aération. L’humidité m’a gêné au niveau respiratoire au réveil le lendemain.

Fantastiche le info per l'accesso, il self check-in e per il soggiorno con ottimi consigli per sfruttare il meglio di Matera. La terrazza è mozzafiato e dona all'appartamento una location da sogno per un'aperitivo o una colazione. Non ci sono aspetti negativi, l'unico difetto è il bagno molto piccolo e se si può dare un suggerimento sarebbe comodo avere in camera uno specchio a tutta figura ed un piccolo scrittoio.

• Nicholas (7/5): Nice room for a one night stay - The location is really the best part, which helps to overcome the other problems of a steep stair access etc; You never get to meet the staff, you are given very good instructions even a video on how to park, get there find the key and unlock, by someone called Claudio on WhatsApp, so good was he, I suspect that I might have dealing with an AI generated response rather than a human, is this the future? You are basically living a vaulted stone room with a bathroom. The floors and towels were damp probably as result of the air conditioning running in a somewhat humid room, it's not really a problem in summer, just feels bizarre under foot. The breakfast is sub contracted out to a nearby café, the choice is limited and the number of cups of coffee and pastries is limited to one, which is pretty mean when your pretending to be a hotel.

The beds were comfortable and it was perfect for our family of three. The host was responsive and helpful. The location was perfect for exploring the old city. We stayed for one night in a cave room - the property itself was in the best location just within the old town with easy access to street parking in the new town. I wouldn’t stay in a cave room again. I’m sure if I had a room upstairs with an outside view I would have given 10 out of 10. The bathroom was tiny but that’s to be expected in a cave. Breakfast was a pastry and coffee which is all that is needed. Very great value.

Check in was seamless and contactless, with clear instructions. Room was very clean with a wonderful view. Also appreciated the water bottles and coffee machine! The instructions were only available in video format which was a bit tedious, but otherwise nothing to complain about.

Giovani came around when issue with wifi and aircon. Very small shower and bathroom, only skinny people will fit. Shower had a bit of mould.

• Stephanie (10/5): Most epic stay of our trip - This was one of my favorite accommodations ever. The view is STUNNING and the location is amazing! The room comfortably fits 3, and the stone interior stays nice and cool. The bathroom was super clean and the shower was bigger than most you find in Italy. The stay comes with breakfast at a local cafe and the host is super communicative. suggesting parking nearby, local restaurants, and more. This was also one of the only places we stayed that came with free toiletries. We absolutely loved our stay and would come back in a jiffy.

• Diane (9/5): Loved the place but have not YET gotten over how we were treated by the owner/manager. - Being able to experience a special place like Matera was wonderful. The accommodations themselves were fine. The location perfect. The neighbors helpful. CAUTION: The owner/manager is out of touch with what tourist travelers need. The address given does not exist due to it being in a former cave, for real. And he sent information while we were enroute that we could not access while driving. He assumes everyone is on a cell phone 24/7 and he should sent info a week ahead where it would have been useful. He was also unwilling or unable to help us on the phone or designate a place to meet him since cars are Not Allowed in the old city ... we circled the new town for 2 hours searching, while tired after driving from Naples for 3 plus hours. We only found the place via a helpful taxi driver. And the owner/manager was not available for any follow up.

• Lorena (9/5): Lovely place for a weekend stay, great terrace to enjoy the views! - The terrace has great views on the city, the area was peaceful and quite, the dates of our trip probs helped on that :) Great views at night also from the room, with all the tiny lights in the sassi area. Good breakfast in a cafe very close to the appartment. We took it to go and had breakfast on the terrace :) If I have to point something out it'd be the size of the bathroom, it was OK for me but it might feel a little small for a tall/big person. My partner is 1.90m and he struggled a bit at the begining. Nothing that would stop us from coming back for a short stay anyway!

Matera is a stunning city and this property is perfectly located just in the old town near a large piazza. Hosts were great, gave lots of info and recommendations. You have to walk to it because it is in a limited traffic zone. There is a large parking lot about a 10 minute walk away. Lots of difficult stairs throughout the old town Stairs to rooftop terrace were steep and difficult.

Nice views from the tiny terrace at the entrance. Very responsive host. Our room had a door leading to the next room, where the light was on throughout the night, the walls were thin, so the sounds from other rooms was heard. Hard mattress and flat pillows were not the best to sleep on.

Giovanni is a great host with proactive communication and recommendations for the neighborhood. It takes a little walk from parking to the apartment over on-even streets - recommend to take the backpack only. The bathroom is very very small, almost impossible to turn yourself, lacks of areas to put your necessaries.

We had the pleasure to view both of the biggest rooms the house has. The superior one was our favourite as it is bright and more intimate. The view from the window of both rooms is spectacular. Both have private, splendid terraces. If you are looking the perfect spot in Matera, this is it. We highly recommend it.
