Guest Reviews
- Daniel (10/5): Nice stop and off the beaten path! - Travel without a hotel destination, I can always find a hotel somewhere through Hotels.com on my phone app., this was a great place to stop and not too crowded! Had a small swimming pool and a hot breakfast! Nice customer relations!
- Daniel (8/5): - Meet my needs for the stay.
- Chad (2/5): - Staff was very unaccommodating and unfriendly, the place was dirty run down in very much need of some updates it doesn't even have an ice machine the pool is disgusting and not maintained air conditioners don't work worst hotel I've ever stayed in and I will never stay there again
- Suzette (10/5): - The manager and staff are always very helpful. The meet the clients always go above and beyond. Excellent staff.
- Donna (2/5): - Terrible place to stay. It was not marked as a Comfort Inn. In fact I don’t think there was any signage. Rooms were dirty. Breakfast area had roaches crawling on the counters. Would not recommend.
- Chris (4/5): - Crap hole
dirty
no blankets
Came back in the afternoon and door was unlocked
Would not recommend
- Suzette (10/5): - If you have a problem or something is wrong management is quick to fix it. The bed was very comfortable. They do have a breakfast unfortunately i leave out for work before it is served. But it smells delicious. Everyone is very friendly.
- Earl (6/5): - The bathtub/shower had been repaired in a very poor manner. The smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling by it's wires. The safety door lock was broken.
- Inez (2/5): - When I was looking for a hotel this one was rated "Very good" 8.2 so I expected it to be OK. It was not. When we checked in the room we were given was hot and dark and dirty. The A/C was blowing hot air (it was 90 degrees outside), the entry light was not working and at first we could not see the state of the room. We left our luggage in the room while we went to meet family. When we returned the room was still not cool. The desk person did offer to give us a different room; we declined the offer. We went to another hotel - the last room in town. We did not demand a refund as the desk person had told us he had only worked there for ten days and had had a hard time checking us in. I don't believe any of this was his fault. Yes, I believe we are owed a refund.
- Doug (6/5): - No ice machine on premises. No cups or glasses in room for water or coffee.
- Janice (2/5): - Be careful booking with Expedia. Sent us to wrong location. No reservation there. We were reserved at a different hotel. Address on site was not correct. What a mess!! Very frustrating and can’t get money back.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Could have been better - The motel obviously has low income tenants living there.
Older property and not really updated.
An example: The toilet was an elongated style with a round toilet seat that did not cover the porcelain completely. Yuck! Especially for a female.
The fiberglass bathtub was dirty looking but I think it was just stained . I feel I would have had to wear flip flops so my feet wouldn't touch the the bottom of the tub, had I used it.
The white microwave & refrigerator were both a dingy yellow. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were completely flat and hard.
I feel I was way overcharged. I paid almost $78 for 1 night, in a small town. Definitely not worth it.
- shawn (10/5): - I've stayed there 3 different times when coming back to visit Iowa. The staff up front at the desk very approachable always takecare of me. The pool is up and running and the air conditioning feels great.

- Verified traveler (2/5): - Hotel was in bad shape. Paint missing from walls, bathroom door knob was extremely loose, screws in walls with nothing attached or covering them, room had bad odor. Would not stay there again, hotel needs total renovation.
- Branson (2/5): - The first room they put me in had a live tick on the pillow. The second room reaked of cigarette smoke. The bathtub was either extremely stained or dirty!!

- MARIA (2/5): - Locks to room where broke, asked for a different room and the manager told me the locks and the other rooms were broke. Also, I wanted to know if I would allow him just to go fix it. Did not feel safe did not end up staying there.
- Kurt (6/5): - Efforts are being made to improve this property. The person who checked me in was polite and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable enough. The WiFi did not work, which was annoying. Breakfast was short on healthy food.
- Carol (10/5): - Great breakfast lots of options. Cleanliness, helpful staff.
- Carol (10/5): - Great breakfast, friendly staff,
- shawn (8/5): - My stay was comfortable at the motel. Had a friend that I grew up with that happened to be a manager there. He really went out of his way helping me get the best rates for my stay. I was bummed out that there swimming pool wasn't filled, and the ice machine wasn't working. But I would recommend staying in that motel to a friend.
- Carol (10/5): - Love this place. Staff is great. Awesome breakfast.
- Carol (10/5): - This place is amazing and the property manager is amazing. He fixes any problem with ur room.
- Carol (10/5): - The breakfast is amazing. Staff is super nice.
- BRANDY (2/5): - I was in room 101 i showed staff a bedbug.. no refund no room switch. She stated we have a lot of bugs.. im covered in bed bug bites
- Corine (4/5): - It was very run down outside. The lobby was clean. Rooms were ok until I looked closer. Hair in the sink and shower also on the floor and even on the wall in the shower. Linens has some stains and the mattress were horribly stained. The pool was out of order and there was no ice. The breakfast was limited. I would not stay here again.
- Carol (10/5): - In general, this is just a nice little town. But about this hotel, I love the different breakfast options.

- Christopher (2/5): Go somewhere else - This was one of the absolute worst stays I have ever had. We were promised a pool via phone before even booking. Get to the hotel, the indoor pool has been drained since winter (Staff lied via phone.) The beds were covered in animal hair and very outdated (had to buy a lent roller,) holes in the wall, paint chipping and the door did not latch unless it was lifted to the point of latching. Hard to entertain young children with no pool, and then we spent 24 hours with no internet or television because the owner did not pay the bill (staff confirmed this). Don't expect to have a working fridge or ice machine, they are broken down too.
I was able to speak to the owner who encouraged me to get a refund and find another place to stay because he did not want a bad review or for me to look for other things wrong with his hotel with a super confused identity.
The issue is there is nothing around comparable, he was more worried about his review than the hotel, or our actual stay.
The saving grace were the afternoon and evening staff. Both were the same both nights we stayed and both were excellent, understanding and super accommodating.
The employees care more than the owner, the place is a dumpster fire waiting to happen and has an identity crisis.

- Eric (8/5): - At first glance, I was not sure if the property was open. I went inside to ask and found the person behind the front desk to be very helpful. I was looking at the listing on Expedia and he told me to book from there as it would be less expensive to do so. That information saved me about $35.
When I got to the room, it was fine. Clean with no weird smells and quiet. There were a few things wrong but they were minor. The bedside lamp wouldn't stay on and I could only get 1 station on the TV, but I think the later was due to operator error. The bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. The HVAC unit worked like expected.
The bathroom was clean and when I showered in the morning, the tub was NOT slow to drain. That was nice as I am not a fan of standing in dirty, soapy water while I shower. Two things about the bathroom: 1- I was not a fan of the soap. Bring your own. And you might want to do that with hair care products as well. I have very short hair and the provided shampoo was fine with me, but I can see where it wouldn't be for others. 2-The toilet bowl is an elongated one, but they installed a round toilet seat. It did its job, keeping my tushy out of the water, but it did look funny.
The provided breakfast was minimal. Apple and orange juice, 4 different kinds of cold "kid cereals", individual slices of bread, biscuits, and muffins, sausage gravy, and a waffle maker. There was a coffee machine offering a variety from its touch screen.
Overall, a very good experience.
- Troy (2/5): - Picture are lies, had hair on my towels, ac smelled like Freon, guy lied at desk, had to find him to get our room, did not stay and u should not either
- Trent (10/5): - Easy, cheap
- Lee (2/5): Avoid even if zombies are chasing you. - The night started with an employee walking into our room right after she checked us in. Breakfast in the morning was annoying, and the complaints from staff did not help. The blood (at least I hope it was blood) on the wall and door and toilet paper in the peephole were amazing accents.
- Carol (10/5): - Love this place
- Allison (2/5): - Roaches, dirty shower curtain, holes in the walls, ac unit falling off the wall, blanket for the bed is paper thin and like a curtain material.
- Clyde (2/5): Only if you're desperate - Not many options in town but I'll try to find something other than this place. The room was clean and that is about the only good thing I would say. This place needs a major major uplift. I'm not even sure what it was a super 8, comfort inn or a quality inn. I think each hallways was a different hotel. The door to my room was not even secure. I told the front desk guy about it and he said yeah I'm aware of that, lol. Awful!
- Rich (10/5): - Spent the night here for work and the staff was very kind and courteous Will stay here again
- Roger (2/5): - The door for the room did not lock unless you picked up on it. We decided to leave early and could not get a refund.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great service and great price - Can’t beat the prices and the front desk is incredibly helpful, Alex went out of his way for help on multiple occasions, even after checking out.
- Greg (10/5): IA Comfort Inn - Friendly and timely staff. All was great!
- Jack (10/5): - It was a great time and all the staff were great.. we was sad when we saw the pool closed and there were no ice machines... Other than that it was great....
