Guest Reviews
- Agata (9/5): - Pięknie położone domki na plaża gdzie można spotkać mnóstwo rozgwiazd. Przemiła obsługa Bill i Cristina. Polecam też koniecznie wycieczkę do jaskiń , gdzie można się ochłodzić i popływać w słodkiej wodzie.
- Eric (10/5): - Location, super friendly hosts, comfortable, excellent breakfast.
- Barbara (8/5): -
- Gabriele (10/5): - Tutto; la posizione, la struttura e l'accoglienza Nulla da segnalare.
- Kelley (10/5): We loved every minute! - Camotes Cay Hideaway is a hidden paradise. We arrived tired, jet lagged and harried, and in our four days there felt the weight of the world lifted from our shoulders. The private beach was perfect for delightful dips and the breakfasts were yummy and substantial. The hosts, Bill and Christina, were attentive, helpful and overall great to talk to. The other staff were always smiling, polite and sweet. Our accommodation was beautiful and private, overlooking the serene white beach and turquoise waters.
- Alexandru (10/5): - One of the best places i stayed in, a truly memorable experience. I stayed the treehouse and beachfront. Both were great, the treehouse has 3 windows and a balcony right above the sea. I slept with the door open to feel the cooling breeze and to hear the ocean. It was like sleeping directly over the waves. There is a path directly to the reef for swimming and snorkeling. In the beach house the feeling was different, but still great. Every morning i had a beautiful white beach for myself for a refreshing swim. Cristina and Bill were great, helped us with everything we needed, we had good breakfast with fresh coconut daily. Everything went smoothly from port pick up to leaving. I am sorry to hear that this place will be demolished and a big resort will be built in its place. We were one of the last guests. I am sure Cristina and Bill will have another place to provide the best accommodation in camotes island
- Rupert (10/5): Perfect hideaway. Perfect hosts - This is an amazing stay. Tucked away in total peace and quiet. Bill and Christina could not be more lovely and friendly. It’s sad they are leaving as maybe the place will change. But if you like tucked away beauty this is the place. Nothing really. You do need to be happy getting your own transport to get around the island but that’s very easy
- Kathrin (10/5): - Our stay in Camotes was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived, Bill and Cristina made us feel genuinely welcome with their warm, attentive, and thoughtful hosting. Their care and hospitality were present in every detail, without ever being intrusive — exactly the kind of service that lets you truly relax.
Cleanliness was exceptional throughout our stay. Everything was spotless and clearly well cared for, which made the experience even more comfortable and stress-free.
Mornings were a highlight thanks to the freshly made pancake breakfasts — simple, delicious, they quickly became the reason for us to wake up in the morning.
Camotes Island itself is absolutely stunning. Peaceful, unspoiled, and beautifully laid-back, it’s the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression. Thanks to Bill and Cristina, our time there felt easy, personal, and truly memorable.

- Arianna (10/5): The most beautiful place I’ve ever been!! - This place is wonderful and charming, perfectly located if you are looking for some disconnection and wildness. Bill and Cristina are the best, they really care about the guest comfort and they make everything what is possible to you feel at home. We really enjoyed our trip there, people is really nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place! It’s a paradise 🤩🤩 Nothing to add
- Marie (9/5): Perfect place for disconnection - The hosts are wonderful people, they think of guests safety and they help with everything! Location is perfect: between jungles and the empty beach, a few minutes from famous Santiago bay. Rooms are well designed and spacious. Delicious pancakes for breakfast! The fact that it won’t be there next year.
- Agnieszka (10/5): Home away from home - Camotes Cay Resort truly feels like a home away from home. The Bill and Christina were absolutely amazing—so thoughtful, helpful, and genuinely caring, making the whole stay unforgettable. The highlight of the stay was the giant “TV” window in the room that overlooks the bay—it’s like watching a live nature show all day long. The view changes constantly with the light and tides, making it mesmerizing and at night, you can enjoy a stunning star show you won’t see anywhere nearer to town. The room was cozy, the breakfast was fresh and personalized to my liking, and the beach with good snorkeling spots is just steps away. Perfect for a relaxing escape with all the comforts you need.
Everything about this place makes you want to stay longer (and I actually did). Leaving this place :(
- Fredrik Andersen (10/5): Ett fantastiskt ställe att vara på! -
- Irene (10/5): Wonderful location, home away from home feel, kind hosts and delicious breakfasts. - Rare location with a beautiful view from our bedroom overlooking the water. We stayed in the 2BR apartment - a filipino style wooden house with comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. The reef was a mere several steps from our balcony. The house breakfast were delicious, Cristina and Bill always on hand ready with information, advice, help, even a loaf of bread and happy to organised transport for us. Thank you Cristina and Bill for a memorable stay. Can't think of one. On the rare night we stayed in to cook, we needed a few more kitchen items, but Cristina as always was happy to provide whatever we needed.
- Ruthie (10/5): - We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Camotes Cay Hideaway. It truly lives up to being a real hideaway — private, secluded, and wonderfully peaceful. The atmosphere is so quiet and relaxing, with the waves serving as a natural white noise while you sleep, and birds chirping in the morning as your alarm clock.
The hosts Bill and Cristina were perfect: always prompt in communication, attentive, and warm. Breakfast each day was great, and we were delighted by a free room upgrade with the best views which made the view even more spectacular. If you want somewhere peaceful with excellent hosts, great communication, and a setting that helps you disconnect, this place is perfect.
PS. The internet connection is great and did I mention that they have cute dogs too? 🙂 N/A
- Hjørdis (10/5): A wonderful experience!! - The breakfast was the best we had on the island. Bill and Christina were excellent hosts and the property was absolutely stunning! Highly recommend staying there.

- Cristopher (10/5): Thank you two for your kindness and openness to my gf and I. Perfect stay. - The view from our room was one of the best on the island, really enjoyed the boat ride with the locals. It’s so nice we did not want to leave the room. N/A
- Marta (8/5): -
- Mary (10/5): A little slice of paradise on Camotes Island. - Our hosts, Christina and Bill, were simply the warmest, most friendly human beings on the planet. They helped us whenever they could and served up a scrumptious breakfast every day. This is a beautiful property with a gorgeous outlook - peaceful and serene. There is much to enjoy on this island. Highly recommended!
- David (10/5): The treehouse is the best room you can dream of in the Philippines. - I loved my room in the treehouse it's decoration is beautiful. Stunning view on the sea and reef, a absolute wonder. The most beautiful room I've had on an island in the Philippines. The balcony with fire flies in the night was a marvel. The hosts were so friendly and helpful, we became friends quickly. I highly recommend the tree house. The other room are also good but don't stand out as the tree house room.
Good breakfast. Nice big motorbike for rent.
- Christer (9/5): Good place if you searching for a relaxing. I recommend that you arrive with motorbike. Only one kilometre to Santiago b - Perfect location, good breakfast. Quiet area, fantastic beach. Nice staff. Access road acceptable.
- Manolis (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed in the tree house for 6 nights. It has something unique, something special, something from the old ages.Wonderful view of the ocean, very very green.Christina and Bill are very accomodating, friendly and kind.Santiago is 15 minutes walk from the property where you can find restaurants. You can bring your own supplies and cook your own food surrounded by the nature. Unfortunately we had to leave!!
- Bronwyn (10/5): Honestly it was bliss. And the lovely dogs that live there made it even better 🐕 - The location is absolutely stunning. The photos don’t really do it justice. Places as beautiful as this are hard to find and the property has been cleverly designed to blend into the landscape and provide panoramic views. I stayed in the 2 bed property with my son and his girlfriend. Went to sleep each night with the gentle sound of the ocean lapping. Beach is very quiet, just a few local people using it. In the early morning you would easily have it all to yourself. The owners were very accommodating and genuinely friendly. Thank you Bill and Christina for a really lovely stay and your welcome. We didn’t cook there but if you did want to you’d probably need some more utensils. I’d imagine the owners would provide whatever you might need as they were very helpful.
- David (10/5): A gem, absolute must go, and especially to the treehouse bedroom - The location is gorgeous, with a beautiful reef + drop off(dive site, with turtles, fishes, lots of coral), white sand beach. I stayed for about 3 weeks. The treehouse bedroom is probably the most beautiful room I ever had in the Philippines, and I traveled plenty. Very big room.
Great interior design, old style wooden-Asian deco, amazing balcony right over the sea, reef and surrounded by trees, absolutely magical firefly’s tree at eye level during the night, flying to the room sometimes, whilst stargazing under a starlit sky. I tried the other room they are also very nice, but the treehouse is definitely the one to get.
Bill and Christina are very friendly and helpful hosts. Great breakfasts. Cool Honda HR Motorbike for rent.
I hope I’ll be back.
- Mark (10/5): Absolute paradise away from the hustle and bustle - Such a wonderful traditional Pilipino homely stay. Christina the host was so warm and friendly and helpful.
The location is out of this world as the breath taking views from the room balconies of the secluded beach, with its clear waters and lots of sea life (amazing array of starfish) we would love to return in a heartbeat
- Daniel (10/5): Paradise! - Property right on the beach! The unit is made from local materials.
- Andrius (10/5): Amazing stay - We had an incredible stay at Camotes Cay Hideaway! Bill and Cristina were wonderfully welcoming and always ready to help. Our treehouse had breathtaking views, and the bed was so comfortable. The beach was absolutely stunning, with crystal-clear waters that felt like paradise.
The location was perfect—just a short distance from the village, where we could enjoy coffee, lunch, or dinner. The friendly dogs made our stay even more special, adding to the warm and homey atmosphere. Every day, we treated ourselves to fresh coconuts and relaxing full-body massages—pure bliss!
This was truly one of the best holidays we've ever had. A well-deserved five stars!
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ana (9/5): Superb - Amazing hosts, unbeatable location, and possibly the best views in the whole country.
From start to finish we felt so at home at Camotes Cay Hideaway. We were picked up from the ferry for a small fee, moped rental was sorted to our door, and there are snorkels to borrow for exploring the nearby reef. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful with a few restaurants only a 20 min walk away.
Idyllic - we hope to return!! The bathrooms are very basic, but in line with what is to be expected on the island and for the price.
- Anja (10/5): It's a Paradise! - That was love at first sight! Only 2 hours after we arrived we extended our stay. We travel a lot and almost never stay more than 3 nights in one place. But Bill & Cristinas house is just paradise and so we stayed two more nights. The two are really nice hosts helping with everything, and our apartment was just stunning! (that the aircon didn't work was not a big deal for us - Bill had the trouble with the change - we just had a wonderful time :o) ) It was our first location on the Philippines and the perfect place to start exploring this wonderful country. The Beach ist almost your private place - you only have to make some steps into the sea, you can rent a scooter to explore the islands, and for the evenings the restaurants are in a walking distance. The Camotes are so beautiful and at the moment still kind of a hidden gem. Thanks again Bill & Cristina for having us and making our time on the Philippines so special.
- Annabelle (10/5): A paradise home away from home!! We will be returning ! - Breathtakingly beautiful!!
My son and I stayed in the two bedroom suite & the views of the ocean were spectacular! As were the hosts Bill and Christina!! Hostesses with the mostesses
They welcomed us with open arms. Camotes Cay Hideaway is a hidden gem!!
We enjoyed the private beach, as well as a private driver Cesar, toured us around the island.
We absolutely without a doubt, will be returning!!
Thank you Christina and Bill Nothing!
- Linda (9/5): A wonderful hideaway with some lovely food - Bill and Christina
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roland (10/5): Great! Excellent! Seriously, one of the best stays in Camotes. The place was like a hidden paradise and the apartment wa - The location is the best and the hosts were so accommodating. The space was so worth it to book. It’s not a dislike but the restroom door can be fixed and hopefully the way to the property hopefully would be lit up next time.
- Woodard (10/5): Bill and Kristina were generous and considerate hosts and very helpful. The place is gorgeous. Don’t miss the opportunit - This is an amazing property with fantastic hosts. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed in my life and definitely the best place I’ve stayed in the Philippines. Can’t recommend it strongly enough. It’s clean, spacious, convenient, outstanding views, quiet and welcoming. I had to leave 😢
- Shelley (8/5): Very good - We were meet by Bill & Cristina off the ferry and they drove us back | so that helped, esp when arriving at 5pm. They stopped on route and we were able to pick up a great cooked chicken to eat that night (Christina cooked us some rice to go with it, so we didn't have to worry on the first night).
The bungalow was lovely - great view sitting on the balcony.
Bills dogs were very well behaved, they come and visit most days - there was a cheeky one that snuck up from the beach and managed to get in before we realised and ate our pastries!
The bungalow had all the basics you would need for the week - a few pots & pans, drinking water and a rice cooker and Gordon the Gecko was above the sink most days!
There isn't much nearby - nice little beach next door for a morning swim or a 20-25 min walk to the main beach at Santiago Bay | here there is some food, drink and few small shops. Great pastry shop nearby and a shop selling essentials on the walk back (eggs, oil, coke, coffee etc).
B&C were kind enough to take us to San Fran for an hours shopping trip one day to get a few extras that were thin on the ground at Santiago - if you hired a moped then you could get further afield, but we preferred walking and staying local.
The bungalow was quiet and peaceful, wifi worked well - but there was no TV!
- Andy (10/5): Amazing location with superb hosts! - Outstanding accommodation. Hosts Bill & Kristina went over the top to assure our holiday was wonderful! Pick up at the dock, arranged transport and tours, recommended great restaurants, cooked great meals for us, the list goes on. It’s an outstanding location with tremendous value. We will never forget our stay in the tree top bungalow on the shore of a beautiful cove.
- Wakelin (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning place, 10/10 amazing place, amazing staff.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - We had a fantastic stay with Christina and Bill. Their place is like paradise. The staff is over the top, the food is at least 5 stars, the location looks like on a postcard..... it can't get better then this ! ....that we had to leave !
- Ferlyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent service and bill and his asawa made me feel part of the family from being to end..they even helped me purchase my return ship to the mainland, got me a island tour and driver set up and cooked amazing honecooked meals that were 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟. I am returning in 2 weeks again. Top notch facility and grounds on a private beach. Even got me fresh dragon fruit upon request. Ty Bill and your wife and staff for making this an unforgettable journey.
- Marta (10/5): My warmest recommendation. 😊 - The place is absolutely beautiful, hidden in a cove, with the beach just a few steps away and a lush and well kept garden. We had a large room with an amazing view we could enjoy both through the big windows and from the breezy balcony. The bed was big and comfortable, giving us excellent rest each night. Bill and Cristina were very welcoming and helpful, giving us tips on activities and places to eat. We had dinner at the house both nights, very tasty traditional Filipino dishes! The bathtub was a bit unpractical, but Bill informed us that the bathroom would be renovated just after our stay.
- Jure (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing view, location right next to the sea, friendly hosts. Nothing
- Werner (9/5): hope to go there soon again, beautyful island, beautyful place with seaview from every window. - Breakfast on demand, fresh and tasty... wonderful host, very helpful
- John (10/5): Fabulous, relaxing place to be. Highly recommend. Amazing hosts. - We did our own catering, although Christine and Bill offered breakfast and evening meals if we wanted. Good simple open kitchen, all clean, fridge, rice cooker, stove, all sufficient for our needs.
Christine and Bill are lovely hosts, present but not intrusive. We stayed in the treehouse, which was amazing, really comfortable, large glass windows looking out to sea, balcony to sit and paint/read/dream etc. Absolutely perfect. Scooters available to explore the islands. snorkel gear available, we added some to the growing pile! Can't think of anything we didn't like, except we didn't like leaving!!
- Ron (10/5): Amazing hidden paradise - Amazing place and very unique for the Philippines! Definitely one of the best experiences so far.
- Cattleya (10/5): Paradise - It feels like home but with a million-dollar view. None.
- Agita (10/5): Wow, what a hidden gem! - Wow, what a hidden gem! Our experience began when our host greeted us warmly at the port and provided a transfer to the property. This isn't your typical resort—it's a true hideaway with a spectacular view and a near-private beach shared only with local fishermen. The traditional-style house may lack some modern amenities, but that's part of its charm and the reason we loved it so much.
The rest and relaxation were exactly what we were looking for. Breakfast was a highlight each morning, with fresh fruit and tailored to our preferred time. Christina's fish soup and crispy chicken were delightful for dinner—highly recommended!
Bill was always on hand to assist with local tips and to rent us motorbikes, while also providing lovely conversations. We rented a room with a large, comfortable double bed that ensured a peaceful night's sleep. An added bonus was the excellent Wi-Fi connection, which allowed us to stay connected with ease.
Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return. Thank you for a wonderful experience! Can not think of anything.
- Kinga (10/5): Hidden gem😍 - Amazing view , friendly staff, quiet place, nice beach with no tourists, 7 min walk to the hostel with delicious food, we love it :) Thank you Bill and Cristina Nothnig
- Jackson (8/5): It's a great place to unwind and get away from the busy city life. - The room gives you a beautiful view of the beach in the morning and starry sky at night. The next hotel/motel is a bit far away so you'll get the entire beach almost for yourself.
The host are friendly and welcoming. They also have 4 friendly dogs which will keep you entertained if you are into pets. There watersupply was low due to lack of rain. In addition, the soap and shampoo not enough. It's better to bring your own in this case.
We were charged a total of Php700.00 for pick up and drive back to the port, which is 10mins away. There seems to be a miscommunication as this was not mentioned before and throughout the stay. It was not much considering we had a happy trip but we it came as a not so good surprized.
- James (10/5): Hidden gem and a must stay! - Amazing little spot, tucked away close to Santiago beach. The staff was exceptional, and the folks running it were some of the nicest you'll ever meet. I spent 8 nights here, and wish I had 8 more. It's beautiful, quiet, and close to a couple restaurants and bars. The beach surrounds the property on 2 sides and they have scooters to rent. I would highly recommend this place. The owners made a delicious breakfast each day, and was helpful in finding spots to eat on the island for dinner. It's really hard to find anything I didn't like, the room I stayed in met everything I had hoped for.
- Nikoline (10/5): Incredible!! - The kindest hosts! They made our stay much better than expected. The beach is amazing and the view really is breathtaking
- Boris (10/5): One of the best accommodations I’ve experienced - One of the best accommodations I have ever stayed in. The hosts are extremely welcoming, the place looks great and was recently renovated.2
The whole property consist only of three villas in the most beautiful part of the island, so you have enough privacy. Also it’s located not far to the port and ferries.
There is a private beach, where I was swimming every morning. Great breakfast is available in the property and If you have a chance to taste Caroline’s cooking, you definitely won’t regret.
Both of them are very considerate, they were filling the drinkable water for me every day and even prepared some beers in the fridge.
Bill rents motorcycles cheaper than you will find in the port and even taught me how to use a manual one. If you have a chance, don’t rent a scooter in the port, but rent a bigger one from him (they also have scooters though).
Also they gave me a full itinerary and I had a chance to check even places which I definitely couldn’t find just by myself.
The internet works great same as the AC and they even did laundry for me. The only issue of this accommodation is that they are almost fully booked all the time as it’s probably the best stay in the island. If you have a chance, don’t hesitate and book as many nights as you can. It’s really a rare, authentic find while you are on the travels.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Bill and Christina did everything to make our stay comfortable. They organized a motorcycle and fulfilled all other wishes. The rooms build with local materials merge perfectly in the most beautiful and peaceful beach at camotes. Just next by located is santiago bay with restaurants and some more life if needed.
- Paul (10/5): Significantly exceeded my expectations and I’m a fussy bugger haha - My only problem staying there was that it wasn’t long enough. Bill and his lovely wife were helpful without being intrusive, ensured I felt actually ‘at home’ rather than other times where you are told this but it doesn’t feel that way. I spent hours inside the room allowing my mind to drift over the stunning turquoise quiescence of the sea. It was blissfully calming and I can’t speak more highly of my entire experience. Much gratitude to the lovely hosts. I would usually find things such as plastic bins and towel rails, that overhang a door intrusively and lack of towel rails distracting. However, the stunning vistas and the interior design of the space being appropriately styled with quality antiqued negated this. It would be great to have some initial clarity about extra costs and services on some sort of list. The costs were very reasonable and the support staff very helpful so nothing was a problem. Just clarity would be helpful. The 20 minute walk to the local food places was a brilliant way to keep fit. For some this may be a challenge however, Bill I’m sure would gladly book a tricycle ride if needed.
- Zhen (10/5): Beautiful place, lovely hosts. - If you are trying to escape from mass tourism this might just be the hidden gem you are looking for. Bill and Christina are a lovely couple and made us imeadately feel welcome and at home. Breakfast was great.
Location is fabulous - very likely one of the most beautiful bays of the whole island. Since it's a bit secluded and away from the more popular dining options I recommend to rent a scooter for the time you are staying there. If that isn't an option for you Christina can call you a tricycle anytime you need transport.
- Danielius (10/5): Amazing. - Something truly incredible. Not in some extra poshy way - but the place is few of a kind, with amazing views, no crowds (just three bungalows - multi-room apartments), your own fully private white sand beach, with crystal clear water full of different sea stars.. and best memories go to fantastic, attentive, supportive hosts - Bill (also known as Ben, Edward and Hot air balloon captain) and Christina, and their wonderful dogs (especially Too Big). PS. Camotes Cay is just 15 mins by walk, 10 mins paddling by bangka boat from local fishermen, or 3 mins by scooter from another, wide Santiago beach and few tavernas / shops there. Camotes islands away from crowds of Cebu, El Nido, Bohol and similars - are not yet spoiled by tourism in all good ways. Hope to come back soon, as long that stays this way. Absence of heated rooftop pool and helipad? On the other hand, scooters and bangka boats are available for free (almost), so your travel around Pacijan and Poro islands is not limited by any means. Not sure about hot air balloon, possibly can be arranged on request.
- Dung (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (10/5): Absolutely exceptional - ABSOLUTELY EXCEPTIONAL
The large, cozy bungalow with a fantastic view from both the bed and the sofa. On the ground floor there is an open-air kitchen with all the necessary accessories and plenty of seating.
With Bill and Christine you have the feeling that you are at home here. They provide support with all matters, be it organizing a scooter, restaurant tips, boat tours.
They are unobtrusive but warm and always ready to help.
Anyone looking for peace and quiet and not the typical resort vacationer will feel very comfortable here and leave with sadness.
We really enjoyed our days here and would love to come back, thank you Bill & Christine for everything Nothing
- Jonas (9/5): The nicest stay at a hidden gem island! - Bill and Cristina are just the nicest people and their treehouse is magical! From serving breakfast and getting the rental scooters delivered to helping you plan the day. They even have a couple of snorkels for borrowing for free! The location, right by a beautiful white beach that’s not discovered by almost any tourist (locals are fishing from it) is worth the money alone.
Also appreciated the balcony in the treehouse, where you get some wind while looking across the crystall clear blue ocean! See photo for balcony view - amazing!
PS: Camotes is a super nice island yet to be discovered by most tourist, and not that hard to get to from Cebu. You get around by scooter (not a lot of traffic) and can snorkel with turtles for free (got to pay for a five min boat ride) at Tulang Diot, a 30 min scooter ride away from the Hideaway. The bathroom was okay, but don’t expect five star hotel showers. Hot water wasn’t working all the time, but we were kinda fine with a refreshing shower in the warm weather.
- Kym (8/5): Ask for Christina to cook local cuisine including lovely sinigang! - Stunning location, immersed in a natural setting overlooking beautiful beach and bay. Perfect location for relaxing. Bill is an excellent source for reliable information on ferry times as well as island attractions.
- Marine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (10/5): Off the beaten path haven! - The view was incredible & the hosts, Bill & Christina could not have been more lovely. They were warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay special. The place is off the beaten path but easy transport arrangements to go where you need can be made. Wish we could have stayed longer because you feel like you've lucked onto something really special. Literally nothing bad to say - everything was wonderful and as expected
- Anette (10/5): A hidden gem - We stayed 4 nights and just loved it. The place is awesome, remote, very calm. A few steps lead directly from the house into the sea. The beach next to the house is wonderful and swimming and snorkeling is great; you’ll see lots of starfish. Mask and snorkel are waiting for you. Bill and Christina are beautiful people, lovely hosts, very helpful and supportive. We‘d love to come again.
- Criss (7/5): Own walk way to beach skinny dip every morning vigorating !…Quality time with wife … - Private & close to water Properly the lounge room was open to insects a lot of bugs , mosquitoes, 1 crab which was funny was warned lol…
Spent most time in bedroom to avoid mosquitoes & lots of hutch droppings on lounges from rooftop. Suggest putting netting around top !.
Balcony’s was great to sit in rocking chairs …
Great views . Couldn’t believe one morning seen cows swimming in ocean very rare to see!.
Christine food was awesome & her fried chicken delicious with green beans yummy.
PS great hiring motto bikes to see the island…
- Jo19jo80 (10/5): Thank you Bill and Cristina for the warm hospitality, for making this my second home. Thank you for treating me like fam - The location, quiet and peaceful. I absolutely recommend staying at the treehouse.
- Shanta (10/5): Amazing tropical paradise, this will be hard to top! - Breakfast was great. The views from the treehouse (one bedroom unit) were amazing. We snorkeled right in front of the property with amazing visibility. Bill and Christine were amazing hosts and we would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay that isn't your ordinary hotel or resort. We were able to explore the island on a scooter as well as take a day tour to some caves, beaches, and a lake. Bill and Christine arranged everything we needed, all we had to do was mention something and they made it happen. We loved our time at Camotes Cay Hideaway and would love to return some day. Everything was great!
- Inke (10/5): A real hideaway… thanks Bill and Cristina. We really enjoyed our stay. - Great view and great hosts!
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! From the moment we contacted the hosts, the communication was quick and helpful. Upon arrival, they were more than helpful. They took care of us from the moment we arrived till the moment we left.
They interacted with our children. They picked us up and dropped us at the port. The breakfast was phenomenal. We had a stressful arrival and we found a bottle of wine on our table.
We asked for adventure and they arranged the best trike driver to take us around for some caves and ziplining fun! The next day, they arranged a boat so we could snorkel. The divers of this boat showed the kids a starfish a clownfish and a cave.
Also, the views are stunning, the area is peaceful, the beach is full of sealife.
If you want to be taken care of, this is the place to stay. It was like staying with family in all the good ways. Nothing
- Brian (9/5): Superb - Top spot hosted by top people. Do anything for you. They not far away to call upon as they stay nearby. Spacious tree hut style unit with private access to a warm dip in the ocean. Could do with a curtin or extra curtains. The door to the balcony is exposed at night for the world outside to see in, if a bit shy not ideal walking around in the nick.
- Iain (9/5): Paradise - Wonderful place with friendly welcoming helpful hosts.
Beautiful view and wonderful experience.
Lovely beaches and a secluded cove to swim in
The room is superb
The Internet was excellent, and I was able to stream movies and video chat back to the UK The track from the main road to the property is dire.
I absolutely loved the place, but to fully experience the island, you do need transport. The local "town" is very small, but you can easily get the essentials.
- Jure (8/5): right on the beach, perfect if you wanna be one with nature, it's not a sterile 5 star hotel - Very friendly and helpful American/Filipina owners, the location is right by the sea, next to a fishing beach. Traditionally built wooden cottage. I stayed in the cottage with 2 bedrooms. They can provide you with motorbike for rent and/or finding a trycicle driver for an island tour. The access from the main road to the property is very bumpy, rough path. There's a lizard dwelling in the rafters and dropping his poop on the floor or table below, not very pleasant. Also expect mosquitos, ants and other critters running and flying around. The cool thing about that is the fireflies will entertain you at night. There were a few small leaks from the roof during the storm and there was no electricity for about an hour or two.
- Richmond (10/5): Only wished we could’ve stayed longer. Loved every moment. Will definitely come back in the future. - The staff and owner great people.
And just the hospitality was immaculate.
Location was great.
Food was delicious.
Really made my experience of the Philippines one to remember. 10/10 for everything. Cesar’s driving skill up and down the drive way haha, that was a joke. Lol.
- May (10/5): A Home Away From Home - We liked everything that we experienced with our stay with Bill & Cristina's property. They made sure that we, their guests are their priority. If you love nature for relaxation, then this is the best place to be. Sleep and wake up with the sounds of the waves, freshest air and if you're lucky, you can definitely see some fireflies hanging around at night too (by which is the best highlight for me). They lived up to their name, "HIDEAWAY" because it surely is a hidden gem.
My family and I couldn't be happier so please do not hesitate to stay at this lovely property.
- Watchsmart (10/5): Perfect Private Getaway - A really wonderful property. The spacious room has huge windows and a balcony overlooking a secluded section of beach which is perfect for swimming and snorkelling. You'll enjoy beautiful views during the day, and the fireflies may put on a show during the night.
Well away from the main road, the property is quiet all day long.
Perhaps a 15 minute walk to some passable restaurants and shops.
Highly recommended. Nil
- Janine (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location, wonderful hosts, a piece of paradise! Bill and Cristina were lovely and very helpful (they organised scooters for us and drove us to the ferry). I can only recommend this place on this beautiful unspoiled island!
- Ordonez (10/5): Relaxing and fun family time. - We didn’t want to leave. Our plan was to go to Moalboal after, but we loved it so much, we wanted to extend a few extra days. Unfortunately, we were unable to extend. Bill and Cristina were amazing hosts, we felt we were staying with friends. Cristina even helped us hold our baby so we could eat breakfast. The place has the most beautiful view, it was nice to just sit in the balcony and look at the ocean. Everything was very clean, and the place felt homey. We all loved the breakfast that Bill and Cristina made. One of the days, Bill and Cristina took us around to see the town, and that was pretty fun. There’s a little private beach just a few steps away, but unfortunately it was a bit dirty at the time because of a recent typhoon. You can also go down some steps to a rock pool. My kids had a lot of fun there during high tide. Santiago beach is a short 10 minute walk from Camotes Cay Hideaway. There are restaurants on the beach. We will definitely come back. Not a deal breaker, but the little road leading to it is super bumpy as it’s not paved.
- Durieux (9/5): Superb -
- Shawn (8/5): Bill & Cristina were great Hosts. They were always available to help and provided anything we needed - Private & secluded compared to other resorts on Camotes. Very nice views from the House. Internet was reliable and AC units worked great. Enjoyed sitting on the back porch with coffee and enjoying the view
- Anonymous (10/5): We had a great time in Camotes, our hosts were so helpful and friendly, couldn’t ask for more. Thank you! - Secluded, scenic, traditional, very helpful and friendly hosts
- Mak (8/5): Very good -
- Dihiansan (10/5): Exceptional - a very exclusive area with very hospitable hosts, almost feel like family to you. amazing scenery to wake up to in the mornings. The property had really cute dogs that you get to play around with and an amazing beachfront with a trail you could walk. THANK YOU BILL AND CRISTINA!
- Kris (10/5): Amazing location for a relaxing break in paradise. - Beautiful location with mostly private beach and snorkelling right at the accommodation. Very quiet and relaxing. Private eating area with cooking facilities. Amazing views from the room (treehouse). Big room with lots of space. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Big, comfortable bed.
Host helped us with renting a scooter. No hassle for us. Nothing. All good!
- Peter (10/5): amazing hosts ,thank you for sharing your slice of paradise! - everything nothing
- Peter (10/5): The hosts did everything and more to make our syay perfect. Thank you - Very Very tasty
Couldn't ask for more Having to leave
- Beverly (9/5): Loved it there. Want to go back. - Hospitality, food, views, the room itself, privacy, location, nature Just a minor thing, already told the host
- Binna (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed in the treehouse and it was such a unique experience. The views were amazing.
The location is perfect for a quite and peaceful getaway. Only a stones throw away from the beach, and with a private entrance to the water.
Facilities are equipped with everything you need to make your own food, but also within walking distance to local restaurants and convenience stores.
Getting here from the ferry was also very easy, just let the wonderful Cristine and Bill know and they will personally come and pick you up.
Cristine and Bill made our stay a memorable one. They are such lovely hosts and we very much enjoyed their company over home cooked meals.
We would definitely come back here!
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - You don't get any better than this. The location, setting and room exceeded my expectations. Bill and Christina are great hosts. The place is private and peaceful. You have your own beach and can walk down to a swimming hole from your room. For the room facilities. All perfect. AC cold. Bed comfy. Kitchen well equipt. You can rent a bike. There is plenty fresh food at the market some 30min away. To save any confusion book the Jomalia ferry from Danau to Conseulo. I used online Barkoda booking platform. Summary. If one of the 2 rooms are available. Do yourself a favor and book it. You won't be disappointed.
- Frances (10/5): Exceptional - Comotes Cay Hideaway is paradise. We love it. We had planned on staying for one night in the two bedroom apartment but stayed for three. Then we came back and spent three more nights in the one bedroom apartment. This is by far the most beautiful place we have ever stayed.
Bill and Christina, the owners, are super welcoming and we immediately felt at home. They were on hand to help us with any queries we had, offering advice where to eat and even offered to collect shopping for us if needed. They are super hosts.
Both spacious apartments have superb uninterrupted views with huge windows and verandahs. Both are well equipped and very comfortable. Excellent wi fi.
The highlight for us was being able to swim on the coral reef directly from the apartment. Lots of colourful fish to see even saw a turtle. There is a little sandy cove if you want to hang out on the beach.
To top things off, as evening approaches, the garden is filled with twinkling fireflies. Oh and I didn't mention seeing a pod of dolphins swim past while we were having a delicious breakfast one morning.
Can't rate this place highly enough.
- Lisa (10/5): Amazing location, private and very peaceful. Memorable experience thanks to Cristina and Bill - Amazing location, private and very peaceful. The room was clean and spacious, and the view was fantastic. Here you can follow the sunrise and watch the sunset with a cup of tea. The resort has a smaller beach right next to it, which you basically have to yourself. Other beaches and restaurants are available by foot not far away. Cristina and Bill were very kind and helpful, let me ride with them to San Francisco and provided me with everything I needed. The breakfast was also very good, especially the French toast! Camotes Cay Hideaway and Cristina and Bill gave me a memorable experience. Will without doubt book Camotes Cay Hideaway again if I ever come back to Camotes!
