• Lena (6/5): - Die Unterkunft ist super gelegen, bietet einen Parkplatz und jeder hat auf dem Dach einen mehr oder weniger privaten Pool. Auch werden über das Hotel Touren angeboten die man wirklich empfehlen kann. Es ist immer erreichbar und super freundlich. Man hat einen einzigartigen Blick vom Dach. Leider war die Unterkunft sehr dreckig. Die Küche ist schlecht ausgestattet mit verkratzten Pfannen. Jedoch bekommt man frisches Wasser. Leider hat es sehr komisch gerochen und es gibt viele kleine Mitbewohner vor Ort.
• Alexandra (7/5): - Good AC, access to its own dock. Victor, the property manager, is very available and took us on a boat ride and to the beach one day. He also brought us fresh towels and washed a pair of stained pants when we asked. Easily accessible walking and via car. Sometimes the music from neighboring Hotel Rio Lagartos was quite loud. Sometimes late into the night which made it hard to sleep. The pool up top was not very clean and had a layer of sand on the bottom. The pictures show a few different bedrooms but in reality, it’s just one bed and two pullout couches. It also was marketed as having a washer which it does not.

• Lucy (10/5): - Location is amazing! The property manager Victor was very attentive and even took us to beautiful Maya Beach by boat (available to guests staying 2-plus nights). The apartment is located within walking distance of restaurants and shops. It’s well appointed, and is 3 stories with narrow stairways. Sunrise on the rooftop was stunning! We scheduled an early morning boat ride with Ariel and he picked us up at the apartment dock. We were there during flamingo season and the excursion with Ariel was stunning. Highly recommend the property.
• Joyce (10/5): Verborgen pareltje in rustig vissersdorp! - Prachtige duplex appartementen met elke een privé verkoelende hot-tub op het dak. Zeer goede bedden en kussens. Uitzicht op de zee en zonsondergang. Bij het appartement hoort de toegang tot een privé-strand in het natuurgebied waar je met de boot naartoe gebracht wordt (wit strand, blauwe zee en snorkelopties). Conciërge Viktor staat steeds paraat en jonge gids Ariel voorziet prachtige tours per boot. Kortom een aanrader! /

He also took us—at no extra charge—to a stunning beach. If I were to choose accommodation in Rio Lagartos again, I would definitely choose this place.
• Biedjee (8/5): Most comfortable bed in Mexico - the most comfortable bed we have slept in in all of Mexico. The apartment is very well equipped with a complete kitchen, roof terrace, hot tub and most important: an espresso machine! We also loved the garden with the birds and would have loved to have stayed longer than just the one night.

• Lydia (10/5): Stunning nature, comfortable and clean apartment, and friendly hosts - The apartment was clean and well furnished. The area is beautiful, and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. They even took us out on their boat to show us around the lagoon area and beaches. They also helped us arrange a boat tour of the nature preserve with a local guide. We saw flamingoes, crocodiles, and a huge sea turtle. We enjoyed our stay in Rio Lagartos very much, but please note that it is a small, quiet coastal town with limited options for groceries, ATMs, etc. You also need to be prepared to speak at least rudimentary Spanish to get around.

• Anne (7/5): Enjoyed our stay. - Rio Lagartos is a fishing village that is refreshingly immune to tourism except for nature tours. The location was excellent. Both Victor and Ariel were wonderful taking us on boat rides and nature watching tours. Ariel's English was pretty good and he was always available to help. I really enjoyed being with him. It's really close to the restaurants and the one next door has a fabulous sunset views. I enjoyed just sitting down by the dock and watching the water. The deck has nice chairs for reading. Plumbing issues that resulted in changing rooms (which wasn't a problem at all when we asked). The kitchen lacked equipment - there was one pot and one frying pan. No kettle. Espresso machine not appropriate for our morning coffee so we ended up buying instant. The property was utilitarian; the kitchen had a plank about ten inches wide that served as a table but there was no table that 3 or 4 people could sit at. The living room could have used a coffee table that would have worked. Given what's available I assume that it is pretty good in comparison
• Catherine (7/5): Good location nice view from roof basic accom - Good location Good aircon & shower. The guy greeting us tried to sell us a tour before he even located the keys. It was a bit tense as he spoke no English & our Spanish is shaky, so we had no idea what he was going on about for a good 20 minutes. The apartment is basic without much comfort. The TV Didn’t work and the WiFi was sporadic. The kitchen had an induction hot plate, but most of the pans weren’t induction so were useless. The rooftop pool was cold & grubby. Washing machine and dryer was around the back closely guarded by the guy who lives on site.
• Lois (7/5): Good visit. - Location great,hosts very helpful and pleasant. Had a small issue in bedroom but it was quickly resolved.
