• Alexandra (9/5): Cute cottage on the hill, great owner but loud dogs at neighbors - Very cute local cottage which has everything you might need for a few days: a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, terrace Mosquito net around the bed was useful (surprisingly, many accommodations in the Seychelles do not have them) The owner gave me some fruit and coconuts from her own garden, so appreciated They have 3 giant tortoises living in the garden right next to the hut Many birds and trees around the hut The owner is a very nice, caring person and she helped me with many things. She even provided mosquito coil at the terrace to keep the mosquitoes away but sometimes it still wasn't enough as mosquitoes love me I'd give the accommodation a 10 if there were no dogs at the neighbors barking a lot during the day and night. For a light sleeper like me, it was difficult to sleep even with ear plugs with the dogs barking so much. But nothing you can do about it as it's not the dogs directly at their property. Keep in mind the hut is on the hill so if you take a bus and then need to walk up the hill with all the bags like me, it's not very easy. The same to go from the hut to the beach and back, it's partly uphill on the way back.

Sono stati disponibili anche nel trovarci un auto a noleggio che ci è stata portata direttamente a casa !

From the moment we arrived, they created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel instantly at home. They were always available with thoughtful advice, helpful recommendations, and genuine kindness that went far beyond what you’d normally expect. The conversations we shared added a personal touch that made the experience even more memorable. To enjoy Mahé you definitely need a car and guess what! They have Jean-yves, a very nice and decent person who will get you a car wherever you are. If you’re looking for a place where you feel comfortable, cared for, and genuinely welcomed, this is it.

• Elvira (8/5): we felt well taken care of - Even though breakfast is not offered, kitchen is available and fresh fruits were provided in the morning. Also, bread, milk, jam, butter was provided in the fridge. We had booked a pick-up from the ferry, which worked very well and was cheaper than taking a taxi. Marlene and her husband are very helpful hosts, she especially helped us in arranging to have our rental car being delivered to Garden Hut. Many thanks for that as the rental agency was not easy to contact. We did not know that upon booking the room but you can book a rental car through the host, which would have been a lot more convenient. you need a car
• Heidrun (10/5): - The Garden Hut is much more than a Hut. It is a lovely, charming place to stay, near to a nice snorkeling Spot, Fairyland Beach, nearby Anse Royal. The hosting family is very heartly and helps with everything. We got a lot of fresh fruits and transfer to the ferry. Marlene did our laundry too. We felt like home. Everything was fine

• Björn (10/5): Ein schöner Urlaub durch die Herzlichkeit der Gastgeber noch versüßt! - Wir waren bei unserem dritten Trip auf die Seychellen dieses Mal für 7 Nächte in der Garden Hut und von der Gastgeberin äußerst positiv angetan. Wir wurde zuvorkommend behandelt und Marlène und David waren tolle Gastgeber. Die Garden Hut liegt hinter ihrem Wohnhaus und bietet alles was man für die Selbstversorgung auf Mahé benötigt. Bei Bedarf kann ein Mietwagen vermittelt werden, der zu empfehlen ist. Die Lage auf der ruhigeren Seite der Insel ist sehr gut. Es ist ruhig.

The apartment is located in a picturesque area on the hillside, surrounded by lots of greenery, right in the hosts’ beautiful garden where three friendly, domesticated turtles roam freely – such a lovely touch! 🐢 The apartment itself was spotless, fresh, and everything worked perfectly, including the air conditioning. There’s also a fully equipped kitchen, which made our stay even more comfortable. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming – they greeted us warmly, showed us around, and explained everything at the start of our stay. As a lovely surprise, we were welcomed with two fresh coconuts and a basket of local fruits. The location is great too – there are several shops and restaurants nearby, and the beach is just a short walk away. We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!

Sie haben uns auch gegen eine kleinere Gebühr von der Ferry abgeholt und zum Flughafen gefahren - wirklich nett! Außerdem gab es Trinken und Essen aus dem eigenen Garten, einfach toll! Marlene and David were great hosts and we were well looked after with plenty of fresh delicious fruits. We were picked up from the airport (much cheaper than taxis and also hired a car for the day from their don). Very short walk to the supermarket, easy 5 min walk to the nearest beach and 10 mins walk to restaurants. Great location.

• Janis (10/5): Excellent stay - worth more than one night! - Everything! A lovely reception from Marlene and David and their family. A spotlessly clean ‘garden hut’ with a covered patio, a comfortable bedroom, a well-equipped small kitchen and a bright, clean bathroom. Marlene and David’s hospitality is second to none! The location is a 10 minute (max) walk to the main road and on to the beaches, a supermarket and bus stop just 2 minutes away. We walked to the Takamaka Rum Distillery which was 30 minutes away. Fine other than it was hot and humid, but worth the walk. There are a couple of good restaurants on the main road less than a 15 minute walk. We were fortunate to have 2 nights here as I’m sure lots of people just have 1 night as it’s near the airport but we had a really chilled time relaxing on the patio and enjoying their garden. Marlene provided welcome pack with breads, butter, milk, fruit and jams.

• Holger (10/5): We‘ve never felt at home abroad like this before! - The quiet, comfortable, cosy and well-equipped Garden Hut is conveniently located near the beaches, shops, takeaways and restaurants and just a 20- min drive from Victoria and the stunning beaches at the West Coast. A rental car was conveniently organised by our host family. But what made our stay really extraordinary was the warm-heartedness of our hosts, who did not only welcome us by organising the pick-up from the airport but also with fresh flowers, coconuts and fruit and a basic supply of water, coffee and foodstuffs etc. They are such nice and considerate people always ready to share information and give valuable advice of all kinds. We got on with each other so well that they finally invited us to their Christmas dinner with all their family, the most wonderful and impressive experience we’ve had so far in Seychelles. We came as guests and left as friends - thank you so much Marlene and David!

We were arriving late and Marlene kindly provided provisions for breakfast the next morning and local treats throughout our visit. Close to the bus stop but in a quiet location, the hut is spacious and features a nice veranda. The tortoises in the back yard are so cool. But the hosts are the best - Marlene and David go the extra mile to make their guests feel welcome. They welcomed us with coconuts and a basket fruit. Tea, coffee and toast for breakfast are also provided. Their service was really 5-star. The only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Thank you for your hospitality!
• Paolaschia (9/5): Last night in Mahe - We spent one night at Garden Hut before catching an early flight back home the morning after. The owner were super helpful, Marlene gave us some fresh lemongrass to prepare a tisane and left fresh bread and fruit in the kitchen for a quick breakfast. They helped us to book a car with their son’s rental company. Marlene’s husband took us to the airport. The review is more about the people rather than the place!The room was clean and private. The bathroom and kitchen (even if it was small) were modern and clean. If you decide to spend more than one night at Garden Hut you really need a car to reach any type of service.

Had some snacks ready for us in the garden hut. Have us a recommendation for a great dinner delivered to the hut. It was all perfect. A little garden paradise. Nothing. It was all very nice.
• Valerie (10/5): Cute bungalow in a beautiful garden - This is a single bungalow surrounded by a beautiful garden. If you are seeking peace and tranquility this is the place to go. Marlene and David are a lovely couple who go out of their way to make your stay as wonderful as possible. When we arrived we were greeted with two fresh coconuts, basics in the fridge and fresh papaya from their garden. They have two lovely (slightly shy) tortoises roaming freely in their garden and if you look closely enough you will see hummingbirds all day long. There is a shop about 3 minutes walking distance which has everything you need. The beach is a 10 minute walk down hill. The bungalow is basic, clean and has a nice patio with deck chairs. Bed is very comfy and aircon works well. The Takamaka distillery is also very close. If you need transfer from the ferry pier or airport then I recommend you get in touch with the hosts, they offer transfer at much cheaper rates. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
• Blinkova (10/5): Exceptional - First and foremost, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality upon arrival. The check-in process was smooth, and I truly appreciated the attention to detail as we were shown to our room. Speaking of the room, it exceeded all expectations. The decor was tasteful, the cleanliness was impeccable. It was evident that great care had been taken to ensure a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Marlene and David and their family are such incredible hosts! We even received fresh tropical fruits upon arrival which was awesome, but also the days after. We were invited to traditional Creole Seychelles's diner at their house. And the garden...amaizing with two friendly turtules. We had the pleasure of staying at Garden Hut. I reccomend to everyone :)

The apartment was comfortable and nothing we missed. The nice beach is 10min downhill ( not to steep) and the food from the takeaway ( can be deliverd to the apartment!) was very delicious. Thanks to David and Marlene who makes our start on the Seychelles so easy and enjoyable!

Also they have a beautiful yard with plants and flowers all around. It's fun to watch their 2 turtles eating the grass in the yard. We really appreciated everything.

Host are extremely helpful with all the questions you have. If you need any guidence they will certainly go an extra mile trying to assist you. They can help you with the fruits you bought for example opening the coconut properly and even share some of their own fruits from the garden. I certainly can promise you will miss them so much!
• Jonny (10/5): Beautiful family home stay - Marlene and David and Jluc couldn’t do enough to help us. They have a beautiful house and separate cottage in the back where you will stay. They left some food in the fridge for us on arrival, they arranged the car hire and are just very friendly and the perfect hosts for our 1st place to stay in Seychelles nothing but you are better to hire a car here (which the family can arrange)
• Tom (7/5): Good - Turned up at property and host was there to meet us. Had a fridge with food left for us which was nice, grill, stove, microwave. Supermarket nearby. Hosts drove us for free to our next destination which was very nice. Don't forget to ask if they can pick you up from airportjetty for small fee to avoid extortionate taxi prices Have to walk about 10 mins uphill from beach to get there. Slightly far from Victoria/ferry port and taxis there and back can be expensive
• Petr (10/5): Exceptional - Marlene and David are the best hosts we have ever met! They are both very kind and we felt here like at home. You are in their garden, but you have your privacy. They even left there for us some fruits, bread, eggs and milk and David bring us fried jackfruit one day in the afternoon which was super tasty. All in all a lot of small things which makes our 3 nights here very special. This is great choice for a couple. Car is recommended. The nearest supermarket is actually very close same as good take away.

• Leonard (10/5): Great acommodation for the money with amazing hosts - Great place to stay during your trip with everything you need (including two giant turtles). The best part however are the hosts, Marlene and David were very welcoming and helpful during our entire stay. They provided us with all kinds of fresh fruits and even vegetables from their own garden, after mentioning that we love to cook.

Little self catering holiday home is located in their back garden, with very pretty outdoor sitting area. Two cute pet turtles are roaming around the garden. Hosts left many nice goodies in the kitchen for snack and breakfast. Due to a very early morning departure to the airport, hosts brought a fresh baquette to the door, which was such a nice touch. Location is great, right off the mountain road leading to the west coast, and just minutes from the beach, takeaways and the rum distilliery. The seychelles have the best guesthouses and apartments to stay due to the hospitality of the locals - far better than any resort.

• Lourecyr (10/5): Exceptional - best accommodation in Seychelles, owners are really friendly and nice people, we can feel the good atmosphere and culture from Seychelles. They have giant turtles in the gardens, with a lot flowers and fruit trees everything perfect
• Pamela (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely friendly hosts who went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home..... Very central to all amenities as well as great value for money would highly recommend 😃 A bit small but we managed extremely well
• Samantha (10/5): Fantastic hosts, lovely spot. Highly recommend! - Wonderful! David and Marlene made us feel so, very welcome. It was perfect for the one night stay, prior to our early flight the follow morning. We found a good restaurant, about 10 minutes walk, just opposite the beach. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable. They will also arrange airport pick up and hire cars, if needed. A lovely stay, we were sad to leave.

• Niko (10/5): Exceptional - The family of owners are absolutely lovely, very friendly and will ensure you enjoy it your stay. They also run a car rental service and will meet you at the airport with the car and drive with you to the hut. Me and my girlfriend were very pleasantly surprised of how friendly they are. The woman owner even filled the fridge with some food and prepared a small local fruit platter from their own gardens. The kitchen is stocked with most of the things youll ever need. The place is nice and away, so you'll enjoy piece and quiet most of the time and will be hearing the birds chirping away whilst you have your coffee. To not forget, they also have 2 of the local islands giant turtles roaming the garden which is absolutely awesome. Highly recommended. There's nothing I didn't like. Maybe just as a recommendation to move the sign a bit down the road to make clear which of the two turnings is the one to the hut.
