Guest Reviews
- Silvia (9/5): Angenehmes Appartement in toller Lage - Wirklich tolle Lage.
- Melanie (3/5): Mediocre accomodation for a high quality price - Location Smelled of mold. Building under construction and covered in scaffolding which meant we couldn’t open the windows during a heatwave. Washer kept giving a fault or stayed locked post cycle. Host was not responsive. Booking.com was also unresponsive despite multiple attempts. I would not have booked this place for the price if I had known the issues.

- Chiara (9/5): Superb - Easy sell check in, clean and spacious apartment, comfortable for 4 people. Kitchen is clean and well equipped with appliances and coffee/tea/sugar. Bathroom is clean with big tub. Plenty of towels in the closet.
Amazing location near shopping and dining areas in Bayswater. Walking distance to Notting hill, Portobello rd, Hyde Park and Paddington station. The lock at the main door is not very sturdy and the bathroom furniture have seen better days. Those were minor issues and didn’t affect our stay.
- Olga (9/5): Excellent! - Our stay was very comfortable and Albert was an excellent host! The apartment is situated in a very nice and central place between three underground stations. The heating is easy to handle. I recommend it! The building is old and there is no elevator.
- Karthik (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was perfectly located, right next to Paddington Station, with quick access to tubes, buses, and even direct trains to and from Heathrow Airport. It’s in such a central spot that hop-on-hop-off buses also pass by. The apartment had all the basic necessities, and the heating system was excellent. Though small, it was cozy and met all our needs. However, there were some shortcomings:
The staircase was very narrow, which might be typical for central London accommodations. They were so narrow was dificult to carry the check-in Bags upstairs.
We could feel the vibrations every time an underground train passed by. This was slightly unsettling, especially at night if you’re not accustomed to it.
The bed lacked a topper and was quite uncomfortable, with the springs being very noticeable. For a few nights, we switched to the sofa cum bed for a change.
Before boarding my flight, I called the host as I hadn’t received check-in instructions. To my shock, he informed me that there was no booking in his system, the apartment was occupied, and he hadn’t received any payment from Booking.com. This left me panicked, especially as I was traveling with my wife and our 6-month-old infant. Attempts to contact Booking.com resulted in an automated message promising a response within 24 hours—far from ideal for such a critical situation.
Thankfully, Albert stepped in and saved the day. After I explained the situation, he quickly offered an alternative apartment at 15 Norfolk Place, W2 1QJ, near Paddington. He even sent me a video of the apartment to ensure it met our needs. When I landed in London, I was relieved to hear from Albert that he had already resolved the payment issue with Booking.com, ensuring we could stay at the new apartment without further hassle.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the host’s professionalism and swift handling of the emergency situation helped us overlook these issues and enjoy our stay.
This experience underscores the need for Booking.com to improve communication between customers, hosts, and their platform. My advice to travelers: always call the host directly after receiving a booking confirmation to avoid surprises.
Once again, a big thanks to Albert for his exceptional service and quick resolution. He truly turned what could have been a disastrous start into a manageable and positive experience.
