The outdoor bath and fire were stunning even in cold and drizzly weather. The staff were so lovely and attentive, and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Couldn’t fault it!

From the moment we arrived, the team were warm, welcoming and genuinely lovely - nothing was too much trouble. We were so touched to be upgraded to the most beautiful room at no extra charge, which made the whole stay feel extra special and indulgent. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated, every space feels thoughtful, calm and effortlessly stylish. We especially loved the subtle scents throughout; it smelled incredible everywhere you went. And the Pelegrims soaps and body wash in the room were such a gorgeous touch - those little details really elevated the whole experience. The food was absolutely outstanding. On our first evening we chose the Garden Menu and every dish was fresh, vibrant and full of flavour, it was so good that we decided to treat ourselves to the more indulgent set menu on the second night. The rib of beef was sensational, perfectly cooked and one of the best we’ve had. It felt like such a treat from start to finish. A huge thank you to the whole team for making our stay so memorable - we can’t wait to come back. Thank you 💖

Staff fabulous and sincere, could not do enough to make sure that we were OK.upgraded to Spindleberry and omg what a beautiful room. Nice touch to have classical music playing on a radio, not the TV. Homemade mince pies amazing. Will be back! Nothing I didn't like. Personally a magnifying mirror would have been good in the bathroom but honestly everything else was so beautiful that it wasn't important!

Chloe was amazing throughout check in, ensuring we had a complimentary upgrade for my daughter’s birthday and gave us lots of history of the property. We stayed in the Blackthorne room which was spacious with a roll top gold bath, amazing views and smelt unreal. We dined for lunch in the upstairs restaurant, which we would 100% recommend. The atmosphere was great & I can’t wait to return.

Eten was koud, voorgerechten gelijk met hoofdgerechten uitgeserveerd, tweede drankje kwam überhaupt niet, bijgerechten waren koud, stukjes kurk in de wijn. Met ontbijt waren div dingen op/schalen leeg en besteld eten kwam weer heel laat.

Delicious cocktails and the chef clearly puts in special effort, the food was excellent. The included breakfast on the balcony was delightful. She we had places to go, we would have loved to stay longer. The room was a little small but well appointment and very comfortable for our needs.

The food is well cooked but the overall experience of dinner in the restaurant and cocktails-on-the-terrace was lacking in sophistication, (more pub than fine-dining), and so felt rather over-priced.

Overall high quality infrastructure, tasteful decor, thoughtful staff, tasty breakfast Oh so many messages ahead of arrival. Too much! What makes things worse is, when you arrive, no one seems to remember any of the repetitive communication that was carried out ahead of the time. So frustrating.
