Catalin (7/5): Good property if they sort out the condensation in one of the bedrooms. - Very friendly and helpful host. They arranged a taxi to collect us from the airport and drop us off at the property. We met Rey there who showed us the house and even guided us to a nearby mall for some shopping/groceries. They also sorted out a taxi on departure, really convenient. The property is spacious, the beds comfortable. The location is good, quiet at night (before 10-11pm there's some restaurant that plays loud music), not central but easy and cheap to get to city centre or the nearby mall with tuk tuks. It has a swimming pool which we didn't get a chance to use but it was clean and had just been filled when we arrived. It could have been cleaner and some rooms need repainting. Being very humid and with the aircon on, they got mould on the walls in some of the bedrooms. It wasn't a pleasant sight and not healthy either. Only one of the showers has hot water but even the cold one was fine for us (not that cold). Just be careful with leaving food or spilling some juice on the table, small ants quickly gather in numbers. Not sure what the host could do, I guess it's just the Amazonian climate. Some mosquito cloths repellant around the edge of the table seemed to do the trick for us.
Dana (8/5): Very good - We loved the apartment in Iquitos. It was nice for the area that it is located in. We had some difficulty with the power at night and could not keep the air conditioner running. This was not the host family's fault but just the power grid in Peru that you should be aware of. It was very clean and comfort as expected.
