- Vivien (8/5): Super convenient. Pleasant for two nights. Not enough space for longer. - Very convenient Short walk to Lavendar MRT on EW line from airport and to the city. Close to supermarket with fresh fruit and salad veg etc. Code for night access. Tea and coffee all day. Basic toast jam and peanut butter breakfast at 7.30-11am Kitchenette and microwave and small fridge. Table chairs and pay to use washer and drier. Dorm rooms have very small space between bunks so air does not circulate well though air con is continuous. Showers clean and new. Need a second hook as space to change is communal and very limited. Small out door area beyond night time security doors restful between activities! Dorm rooms are stacked three night with cramped space. Mini storage under bunks but most luggage in common area. Seemed safe enough though.
- juanto (1/5): - La ubicacion dentro d ela ciudad no es mala .El desayuno es pesimo Vende una habitacion de 12 metros como una de 30
- Sean (5/5): Would have been fine for cost if walls not wet - Location That the walls were wet against the bed, seems air on pipes leaking condensate into wall
- Rebecca (9/5): -
- Wan Xin (7/5): Overall acceptable - The staff is friendly, we actually late check in but the staff still there waiting for us. The capsule is not that small, at least can rolled over when sleep. The location is fine, there is a fairprice nearby, mrt station need 4-5minutes walk. The aircon is quite cold. They do provide luggage storage but it's at an open space. No locker provided, the staff told me the previous user haven't give back the keys to them, they will inform me once they give back, but no until next morning. I sleep at the second capsule, and there is one more higher than me, it's quite hard for me to get into my capsule.

- Deyber (3/5): A garage converted into a hostel, on the cheap. Over 16 people per room, in triple bunk beds. - This is a garage converted into a hostel, on the cheap. It has two bedrooms, each with over 16 triple bunk beds and two double/triple bedrooms, where the staff who work there live. You could not help but feel pity about them. This hostel shows everything that is wrong about modern society: housing crisis, exorbitant prices, and modern slavery. The location is good, as any other location in Singapore, it is well connected to public transport, malls, and restaurants. The ladies who work there are so kind, albeit their living conditions. It's inhumane. Over 16 people sharing the same room, all in triple bunk beds. The breakfast is not worth it. Most of the guest go just to sleep and work during the day. At least it is clean.
- myhe (5/5): - I booked a 1-night stay at Codes Hostel Lavender through Booking.com, expecting it to be convenient and comfortable based on the photos and description.
What I liked:The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. The location felt farther than expected compared to how it was presented online. I was not given a locker key because, according to the staff, it was not returned by the previous guest who stayed in bed #2 in the female dormitory, so I couldn’t safely store my important belongings. The beddings did not seem new or fresh. The hostel is also quite small, with only two showers and two toilet/bathrooms available for all guests, which made it inconvenient at times.
Overall, the facilities and services did not meet my expectations based on the listing.

- Viviana (6/5): Excellent cleanliness and location, but security and facilities need serious improvement. - The location is excellent, very close to both the bus stop and the train station. There are also many supermarkets and restaurants nearby, which makes everything very convenient. The beds were super clean, very comfortable, spacious, and overall everything was impeccably clean. Honestly, cleanliness was 10/10 and one of the best parts of my stay. The breakfast is included but very limited, with only coffee or tea and toast as options. The main issue for me was the locker security, the keys are not unique, meaning my key could open other lockers and vice versa. I even found my locker open on my first day. This made me feel that my belongings were not safe at all. I strongly believe this is something that needs to be fixed urgently, as it does not provide real security.
- Lighteliese (7/5): - The cleanliness was great. Open lounge space was great too. Keeping suitcases in the common area is a bit of a hassle when changing and getting stuff you need.
- Herron (9/5): -
- WENLIANG (7/5): - good location, near the subway, clean, friendly and helpful staff 1. too many beds in a tiny room, even triple beds vertically
2. there is no window in room
3. there is no shelf on the bed
- Supannee (8/5): -
- itorresm (7/5): - Very close to the subway and stores. Bed very comfortable Only 2 toilets and shower for everyone, and in the middle of the hostel
- Klaus sed (1/5): -
- W. William (9/5): Great value for the money, and great mutual respect for each other among the roommates. - I have sort of lower expectations for being a hostel, but was pleasantly surprised. My original bed was in a tight corner, but I managed to take the place of another gentleman from Sri Lanka who was checking out as I was checking in, and had a much better spot. The aircon is too cold at times. A tub of butter or margarine for a small investment would have made the free breakfast much enjoyable for the hostelers.
- Angela (8/5): -
- Rut (9/5): -
- Christabel (7/5): - Location is so near the train station.
Privacy curtain, light and charging point by the bed.
Friendly staff Breakfast was super modest. They place a loaf of bread and jam at the table. Help yourself.
- Cindymydear (9/5): - Cecilia the lady at the reception she so helpful and kind. I like this place cause quiet in the night but safe to walk and don't have to go upper floor. Aircon is never turn off good to sleep long.
Walking distance have big supermarket food court and mall with many food shop open late near to Mrt. lavender
Only one thing not convenient that have only 2 toilets and 2 shower rooms which have to wait in the morning. Toilet and shower not enough when has many guest
- Mara (10/5): -
- Jesse Lito (8/5): - Friendly staff, clean hallways There was a strong smell in the room
- ALVINAH (9/5): - Easier access..and its a strategic location for me. For food and mrt Nothing
- Vicky Lyn (6/5): - Homey We were mixed with male guests without prior notice
- Nothando (10/5): - It is close to MRT, convenient stores, restaurants. Cecelia very helpful, open and patient. Comfortable beds! Towels can get better ones.Breakfast haha bread, peanut butter, jam! Guests can be more friendly,it's a hostel!
- UDAYA (9/5): -
- Vicky Lyn (7/5): Ok but hopefully no more mixing with male and female in one room. It’s scary for the ladies - its comfy and homey feels I am a female but we were mixed with the males without prior notice
- UDAYA (9/5): -
- Soh Yoke (3/5): - Budget hostel, suitable for urgent one night stay The room is smelly, too cramped, no place to hang the clothes or towel.
- Joline (5/5): Cheap but I would not recommend - The check in was easy and uncomplicated. Staff was friendly. Relatively cheap. Everything was quite unclean, the sheets and towels were all stained. Neither the women’s dorm room locks, nor the main entrance door of the hostel (the door code is written outside, so the electric lock makes no sense). In an area where I as a women did not feel the safest, this seems like a safety concern. Breakfast is very simple with only toast, peanut butter, strawberry or orange jam. Only powdered coffee available, that already includes milk powder and sugar - no black coffee.
- Nicolas (8/5): -
- Korinne (7/5): Good for quick stays or day trips - Staying at Code Hostel in Lavender was a good choice since it's near the train station. It's a bit of a walking distance, but the area is safe. The shared room was simple and quite clean. Friendly and helpful staff. It's quite small and a bit cramped once you're inside. You're not allowed to carry your luggage inside the rooms, which is valid, but somehow a bit of a difficulty considering some valuable items might be there. The shared bathrooms and showers, although clean, is also tiny, sort of being squeezed in. I highly suggest there would be some sort of overhead shelf or another hanger so guests can keep their clothes dry or high up when showering.
- Cari (1/5): AVOID AND SAVE YOUR MONEY - The location of the property is good. That’s the only positive. Doesn’t look like pictures - they need updating.
This morning I tripped over a bag in the middle of the dorm floor - Bags aren’t actually allowed in the dorm - which is super inconvenient having to pack and unpack in front of everyone in the common area.
People are loud at night, phones going off and inconsiderate of other guests. Banging outside. No staff around and no posters to show quiet hours.
1.5 hour wait for a shower in the morning!! 2 toilets and 2 showers for over 20 people. And couldn’t even wash my hands after the toilet because the 2 sinks were occupied by people drying hair and make up.
Bed sheets all stained. Asked for them to be changed.
“Breakfast included” is a bag of bread with 2 slices left to toast and peanut butter or jam. Nice idea but poorly executed.
I chose this hostel because despite the bad reviews, on everyone the hostel acknowledge it and say they will make changes - all lies. None have been made.
Customer service poor the lady just smiled at me and said empathy when I mentioned this to her.
Waste of money. Will not be back…. It did ruin my Singapore trip, I contemplated moving after 1 night because I would be better sleeping on the floor in Changi airport.
- Evelyn (8/5): Homey vibes! - Bedsheets are comfy, most facilities are clean, staffs are very friendly! It will be great if the private bedroom comes with a basin and mirror. Only one hairdryer is available but for sharing use only in the common area.
- Felipe (10/5): Great stay - Excellent stay, comfy, clean, friendly staff, it hits all the marks. It's close to two metro stations which is nice and close to Kallang Riverside Park. It's an hour walk away from the Merlion. It's a bit too pricey, but considering Singapore, it is all right. The toilets and showers are a bit cramped but very clean and taken care of.
- SokuShen (8/5): -
- Dominique (10/5): -
- WILASINEE (10/5): Staff super friendly and helpful , good location near MRT , clean and quiet I will come back again - Staff SUPER FRIENDLY , she always smile and helpful, good location easy to access downtown and airport Have only 2 bathroom , need to waiting to use it
- Wajira (9/5): Smart - Average B'fast
- 悦 (8/5): -
- Jonathan (10/5): I would 100% stay again; in fact, probably next week, haha. - The vibe is nice with opportunity to meet lots of people. The staff weee lovely and really chatty. Mixed dorm room was great and all for very cheap price :) It’s hard do dislike anything when the cost is so cheap.
- Ma Jesusa Roque (10/5): -
- 宇桐 (8/5): -
- Silvia (5/5): Ok for 1 night, not longer - Friendly receptionists, clean, quiet neighbourhood The dorm is really narrow and claustrophobic, the “locker” fits just a small bag, no space for backpacks so they ask you to leave them in the common area (open to everyone).
No soap in the showers.
Breakfast is only bread and jam + tea/coffee
- JIANJUN (10/5): -
- 静 (9/5): -
- Nadiah Natasha (10/5): - Was in mixed dorm and the person above me snore really loud i could not sleep till 6.30am😭
- Yichen (10/5): -
- 媛 (10/5): - 工作人员很热情,我英语不太好 但她很耐心。而且这里有个很帅的外国人 超级帅 要是能加个WeChat就好了 可惜我离开了 nothing
- Nadiah Natasha (10/5): - Everything was beyond my expectations. Staffs are friendly, welcoming and makes me feel like i'm home. Finally get to meet lady boss. Bless her. She is well spoken, kind as i had a chat with her. If i had a boss like her, i'll be the most lucky staff ever. 😭 Nothing. This lodging place is perfect.
- Mehmet (7/5): -
- Ernawati (8/5): - Tempatnya Koridor sempit
- Ammalaashini (9/5): Good for a night stay and clean - Privacy is good Not enough dinner table
- Jonathan (10/5): -

- Ceciliammah (10/5): I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality home. - This is my 2nd booking. I had a wonderful experience here. The location is convenient and peaceful. The facilities are well maintained, and the staffs are friendly and responsive. Overall, it’s a comfortable, safe, and welcoming environment. Unlimited coffee and black tea. Nothing
- Noronha (10/5): -
- Minqi (6/5): - the cleanliness of the hostel the breakfast is terrible....
- Parvati (4/5): -
- Dewi (8/5): - Near mrt so easy to go everywhere
Clean Toilet small
- g (2/5): Bad - Only the location Staffs unable to speak English.
Communication very poor.
This is shocking news
- Giulia (7/5): - Location was very convenient, comfortable bed and air conditioning was very nice with the heat outside. It is a very small hostel, there is no room to keep your luggage inside the room with you - might need to put it on your bed or leave it outside in the lounge.
Toilet and showers are right next to the kitchen area which is not private space at all.
- Ivan Claude (1/5): it was a good layover stay place but dont stay there for your whole trip - nothing, its good for it price or maybe they need to lower it everything, nothing to like about there
- Priesh Prince (9/5): -
- Cheryl (7/5): -
- Simon (4/5): No space at all! - Good location, comfortable beds. No space at all! There are 15 people living in boxes in a small room. Only 2 toilets and 2 showers for around 30 people at the same time. Showers, toilets, kitchen, laundy - all in the same room. Thats crazy! All the luggage has to be stored outside the dorms. No space for dressing up. So you basically stay half naked next to people at breakfast.
- Catherine (9/5): - Cleanliness Breakfast a.little scanty
- Sitraka (10/5): - Les personnels sont accueillants et souriants
- Sergio (4/5): -
- BANGYONG (6/5): snore night - the first floor, easy too found, nice staff, give me the card needle a bit narrow, foot odour
- Lesly (6/5): ok for an overnight, very tight! - it’s basically a garage turned into some rooms without windows. the beds are comfortable and the room has good ac and wifi. but that’s about it. . we booked the private quad room, the toilet paper was outside the toilet room and the sink was shared . There was no space for any luggage, so we had add to put it on top of the bed to open it.
- Dana (9/5): Comfortable - Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms, bathrooms and common areas were clean. Beds very comfortable. The airconditioning was set to be a little too cold in the female dorms.

- RUBIALES (5/5): None - Staff is friendly No resting area
- Irfan (3/5): -
- Marco (8/5): -
- Mariya (10/5): -
- Pek Yee (7/5): Budget stay - Location and ease of check-in Will be good to have a partition to separate the toilet area and kitchen area.
- Cheah (8/5): Overall is good & recommend people who travel alone, clean & value for money. - Very convenient & easy to access to mini market (NTUC Fair Price), food stall every where & just a walking distance to mrt. Staff are very nice & helpful. Bed is firm, bedsheet smells fresh & room is very clean. The door always has a squeaky sound when open & closed. The bed next to the door can be heard & it's disturbing my sleep. The staff did put some oil to make the sound goes away but it came back after 3 hours later. Breakfast bread always runs out & in the picture it shows that there's eggs & instant noodles but when i stayed there, the eggs & instant noodles wasn't available. It would be best that to update the pictures, so people didn't miss judge what Code Hostel provide.
