Guest Reviews
- Olivia (4/5): Noise from neighbours every single night kept us awake - The flat is in a central location, spacious and nicely furnished. It is convenient for supermarkets with M&S and Lidl nearby. The shower is big. The two bedrooms, one in the attic, are both cosy. It is an easy walk to all the Sheffield attractions and the theatres. The flat is well equipped and we appreciated the toiletries, washing up liquid etc. A colander would have been useful.
The owner is helpful and responsive.
The fans were a godsend in the heatwave. We were disturbed every single night by loud hammering, drilling, voices and shouting every single night from 11.30pm until 1.30am, 2.30am or 4.30am. By 3am the flat stank of weed which had wafted up. We reported to the host who said it was new neighbours in the ground floor flat but apart from reporting to an agent, there was nothing he could effectively do. This had a really detrimental effect on me as I couldn't sleep and it was also quite scary the first time the drilling started in the middle of the night as we thought someone was trying to break into the building.
The area is also full of drug addicts who are openly using in the doorways all around Bank Street, the Job Centre, Meeting House Lane, Fig Tree Lane and round the Cathedral. There is no way to get to the town centre without passing them either using or lying comatose on the pavement or in doorways. It meant we were pemanently on edge especially coming back from work in the theatre late at night. I don't know if they are always there or if this was unusual. Single men were also sat in cars along Bank Street which added to the dodgy feel as we have no idea why they were there.
These were the main issues. Minor issues with the flat were we couldn't get the oven to work properly, it was too dark to cook or apply makeup, the microwave was very high up and hard to reach, there was no working lamp in the living room/kitchen. Had to use phone torches to check our cooking.
- Sonia (3/5): Not the best place for a good night’s sleep or a proper shower to start the day - Spacious flat in a prime yet quiet location, just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre. The digital locks add a sense of security, and parking is available in the bays right by the front door. The bed in the first-floor bedroom was quite springy, and it felt like the bedsheet had been washed far too many times — time for an upgrade! The blinds in the ground-floor bedroom let in a lot of light, making it difficult to sleep. The bathroom lacked even basic shelves for toiletries, which was inconvenient. We ended up having a freezing cold shower in the morning because the boiler was off, and we weren’t informed that it needed to be switched on. It’s surprising this wasn’t mentioned, especially considering the number of reminders we received about the non-smoking policy and its associated penalties. I’m struggling to understand how this place has received so many positive reviews.
- Rita (7/5): It was good location and suited our needs - Location excellent Entrance could do with a bit of updating
- Nettleton (10/5): Great - Bedrooms Hall way and entrance dated and old but for money it was good and functional
- Ian (9/5): Superb - Location, easy to find, clean good value. Stairs.
- Brian (9/5): Great apartment close to the centre of Sheffield, would recommend. -
- Dylan (8/5): Very good - Great location, refurbished to a high spec
Top floor bedroom was very comfortable, with excellent blackout blinds Bedroom on ground floor (same level as bathroom) - light was shining in at 5 am so need to invest in blackout blinds. Also was cold so an extra blanket would be appreciated
WiFi needs upgrading as cutout during BBC i-Player
Need to wait 1 minute for the shower to warm up
- Terri (8/5): Nice apartment. Good location. Would be improved if slightly warmer and cosier. - Great location, spacious and had majority of items needed throughout the apartment. Quiet area though near to city centre. Downstairs bedroom was cold (despite having heating on in the evening) - had large windows and thin blinds rather than curtains. There was a blind in upstairs bedroom (on velux window) but no step ladders/pole/instructions to reach it. In the end, found a broom handle to reach and close it.
- Marco (8/5): Quiet spot in a convenient central location - Central location yet quite, top floor, no lift. Good sized shower with good water pressure, soap and shampoo provided.Washing machine (no dishwasher) , plenty of pot, pans, plates, glasses.Compact kitchenette . Comfortable sofa, good wifi byEE. Lighting could be better. Oven showing its age.
- Hannah (8/5): Good, little flat for a short trip. - The property is very centrally located with easy access to and from the accommodation. The host is extremely response and very friendly. The top floor bedroom has an extremely hard mattress, so it was a bit of a struggle for myself and friend to get more than a few hours or so sleep during the night. I’d also say that the property was more for five rather than six people due to the sofa bed being pretty small. There is evidence of possibly a prior leak throughout the place too with patches located around the flat.
- David (8/5): Very comfortable accommodation is a convenient location in Sheffield close to all central attractions. - Great central location.
Clean and well appointed. Some basic provisions - tea, coffee, milk - would have been a nice touch.
- Ezdiani (10/5): The house with a blue door - The location near to tram station castle square and LIDL. Walking distance to many attraction spot - sight seeing and shopping. None. But just need to note that you need to climb 3 level of stairs.
- James (9/5): Superb - Large amount of room, comfy beds. No complaints at all
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alfred (9/5): Superb - Ample living space. The location was right in the city centre as well and that was very convenient. One of the 4 towels was bleached.
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sophie (10/5): Excellent stay, will return if in the area again. - Perfect location for Christmas markets but far enough away that there’s no noise. Beds really comfy. Towels provided. Clean, modern and well presented. Great shower. Easy to access with the key pad and instructions. Excellent communication from host. Highly recommend. Only 4 mugs, plates and bowls but advertised for 6 people. Didn’t make much difference to us but we just had to wait for the first people to finish morning brews so we could all have one 🙈
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (8/5): Great location. Very helpful owner - Great location. Very clean. Plenty of space Some hand towels would be nice
- Julia (8/5): Convenient, comfortable and well-priced - The apartment was in easy walking of the train station and town centre, and the check in process was excellent. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay very much, including visit to the wonderful Christmas market and other attractions.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Bed was super comfortable. Place had room for both of us to relax together and apart. Location was quiet enough and near enough to the city centre. Check in and out was super easy. Definitely stay here again. Not a fan of blinds but that's a personal thing. Partner had no issues with them!
- Chanoch (4/5): Lucky we didn't all turn up as there wasn't enough room for the number of travellers we booked - Property smelled of stale smoke. Information on heating was missing or non obvious. Booked the property for 6 people but there were only enough beds, sheets and pillows for 4.
People coming out from clubbing were loud and woke us up shouting, playing loud music and singing along.
The center of Sheffield is now a low emission zone which wasn't clear - beware if your car doesn't qualify.
- Alan (9/5): Great stay & will definitely book again on next overnight theatre visit to Sheffield - Mattress protectors advised as mattress’s look brand new & would be a shame to get any stains on them. Some wine glasses needed
- Jackson (8/5): Value for money . Close to city centre - Very close to the city centre. Pets allow which is hard to find. Some of the things on listing isn’t available but host did try to resolve
