• Monika (10/5): - Wonderful place with outstanding accommodations. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the living room featured a convenient sofa bed. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, and the bathroom was spacious and comfortable, with hot water and a selection of shampoos provided. We also appreciated the complimentary tea, coffee, and bottled water in the kitchen. What truly made our stay special was the owner. She is a lovely, warm, and genuinely caring person who treated us like close friends rather than guests. Her kindness and hospitality made us feel completely at home. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are returning next week with great pleasure. Highly recommended!
• Brigitte (10/5): Einzigartig und schön - Heiata war super hilfsbereit, holte mich vom Flughafen ab, fuhr mit mir noch zum Supermarkt, half mir phantastisch bei der Buchung eines Mietauto und war ausserordentlich herzlich. Die Wohnung ist geräumig und ist mit allem ausgestattet. Herrlich auch der super Blick vom Balkon .

• Florence (10/5): Joli coin de Papeete. - Emplacement de choix à Papeete, proche de tout. L’appartement est spacieux, bien équipé, propre avec une jolie vue sur les montagnes. Nous avons reçu un accueil chaleureux de Heiata et son mari. Ils nous ont rendu service et leur gentillesse a contribué à rendre notre séjour très agréable. Je recommande cet établissement sans hésitation. Tout était parfait.

• maureen (10/5): - Beautiful view of the mountains. Close to town. Heiata could not have been a nicer host. She brought us to the supermarket and also the airport for half of what a taxi charged. Her place is very comfortable and spacious. There’s a bit of a hill to walk if you don’t have a car but you need some elevation to gain a view.

• Doris (10/5): Light, Bright and Oh So Welcoming - Heiata's one-bedroom apartment is light, cheerful, airy (mostly natural, A/C in bedroom only), tasteful and very well-equipped for short or long stays. Situated on a hillside, the view and quiet are a refreshing escape from the hubbub of downtown Papeete. Heiata herself and her husband could not be more welcoming and helpful. They made us feel at home immediately and generously ran us in and out of town for dinner. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Because of its large, free parking area, the lodge would be especially practical for guests with a rental car. A rental (or reliance on taxis) also would overcome the challenge of the short but steep uphill walk to the lodge.

• Mark (10/5): Very nice property with a friendly host. - Wonderful fully-stocked 3 room apartment a 15 minute walk from downtown Papeete. Heiata is very friendly & helpful; she drove me to pick-up my rental car. While it wasn't a problem for me, the steep road up to the property may pose a problem for some.
• Mark (10/5): Superb 3-room apartment with a nice view of the mountains. - Large, clean, spacious 3-room apartment about a 15-minute walk from downtown Papeete with a nice view of the mountains. Heiata is a friendly & very helpful hostess; she kindly drove me to pick-up my rental car at no charge. The final stretch of paved road is a bit steep; it wasn't a problem for me but may be for others. Nonetheless, if I return to Papeete this'll be my first choice of accommodations.

She arranged for her husband to meet me at the Presidential Palace (where I walked from the cruise terminal) and give me a ride up the hill and keys to the room. She also arranged for a taxi to take me to the airport early on a Sunday morning.

Appartamento accessoriato di tutto il necessario in cucina, compreso te', caffè, zucchero e acqua. La proprietaria è una persona molto gentile come tutti i polinesiani che abbiamo incontrato. Nulla. Da sapere che se si viaggia con bagagli pesanti bisogna arrivare in taxi per la strada in salita che precede la casa.

Beaux petits chats très affectueux. L’hôtesse est très aimable et fait tout pour qu’on se sente bien. Peut être la pente très raide pour arriver à l’appartement mais ce n’est pas la faute du Airbnb.

• Janet (9/5): Most enjoyable. - There was no breakfast provided, but there were coffee, tea and water available. We had trouble finding a taxi to take us to the property as they said it was a dangerous road. We didn't understand this as, although steep, it was a properly surfaced road. We had no problem walking up it once our luggage was in the apartment. Heiata was lovely and very welcoming. She even got up to see us off when we left at 3.30 am! As all the tours we tried to book were full she recommended us to a friend who took us on a full-day tour for less than a tour company would have charged and included snacks and a lovely lunch. We covered much of the island, both Tahiti Nui and Iti, and Leonie gave us plenty of information and pointed out buildings and sites of interest, including the Olympic Village and the Fern Grotto. The apartment was very hot. There was aircon in the bedroom but just a fan in the lounge where I slept. Other than this the place was very comfortable with every amenity we could have needed.

It was close to the harbor, restaurants, and the airport. After having some less than desirable experiences in “French” Polynesia, it was nice to stay at a place the was very welcoming. Heiata Lodge is definitely worth the stay.
• Nicole (10/5): Perfect one night stay before an early morning flight! - Heiata’s lodge is the perfect for a one night stop over in PPT before heading on to another island. The hostess is delightful and the accommodations clean and cheerful. She set up airport transfer for us (it was pricey at $60 total, but maybe that’s the going rate?) which was wonderful to have arranged. Honestly the only drawback - the roosters. Holy cow! They’re crowing at 2 AM! And don’t stop. That said, I threw in the earplugs that the airlines provided and couldn’t hear a thing. So an easy fix.

• Anonymous (10/5): A pleasant way to start our Tahitian vacation. - The quietest accommodation we’ve stayed in. Very clean with full amenities, a complete kitchen and strong WiFi. The location is a bit out of the way but Heiata was extremely helpful in lining up a taxi from the airport and personally drove us to the market and to the ferry on our last day.

I rated this property with 10s because it exceeded our expectations for everything we needed for a night in Papeete. The host/owner was so helpful, picking us up at the airport and immediately answering questions via Whats App and giving us advice about cell phone service. She arranged taxis for us also. The apartment was well laid out, roomy, clean and comfortable. This lodge is not a resort; it is an apartment that makes for a very comfortable stay in Papeete located within walking distance of several restaurants and shops.

She helped us to organize a wonderful tour of Tahiti and early morning airport transportation. The apartment was very clean , very comfortable and good running water . We had the best sleep in all our two week vacation in FP . She provided us transportation whenever she can . She is warm and welcoming . We highly recommend her .
• Seiichi (9/5): One night is not enough - The host arranged for a taxi from the airport. The gate is remote controlled. Everything is provided except tissues. The cooking facilities are very well equipped. In this room, we are supposed to take off our shoes at the entrance, but this is the same in Japan, so it doesn't feel strange. The room is decorated with plant-based ornaments, which is excellent. I think the owner made them. The lodge is on a bit of a hill, so I had a good view of the mountain side of Papeete, but I had to climb a hill to get back to the lodge. Wifi is good. When I left the next morning, the taxi arranged by the host arrived right on time at 6:30. The owner also got in and took me to the airport. I received a shell necklace. When I go out and when I return, I ask the host to open and close the gate for me. So I am considerate of the host.

She regularly checked that we had everything we needed and even took us to shop for provisions. The location was excellent, very handy to all facilities and waterfront. The property was in an elevated position which was great for us but may be a little challenging for anyone with compromised mobility.

• Rowan (10/5): Heists Lodge - a great place in Papeete to allow you to easily get around Papeete. Super hosts with excellent communica - Great location - not far to walk to restaurants, supermarkets, and other attractions in Papeete. Hosts were A++ and kindly met us at the ferry terminal and kindly dropped us off at the airport early morning - really kind! Good communication with the hosts! Accommodation was well equipped, very clean, and a comfortable place to be. Nothing was really an issue. Just a heads up that there is a steep climb up the road to the property, gets the heart pumping a little…. but then hey you can have a desert with your dinner without feeling guilty😊

Up a little hill, so not great for people with bad knees or back. But also a great view up the canyon!

The accommodation was just perfect for Papeete, private, close to the town, very comfortable. It was great having our own facilities for cooking. An ideal location and set up for 3 days.

All amenities were very clean and tidy. We loved the cats that came to visit us too. The view to the mountains was fabulous. We highly recommend Heiata's Lodge and would stay there again.
• Laura (9/5): Delightful - The host is so so friendly and caring. She collected us from the airport and delivered us to the ferry terminal the next day. The room was big and comfortable. We only stayed one night but we could have stayed longer! The walk to town is only 15 mins and the views from the balcony are great. Highly recommend. The only tiny fault was that the air conditioning and fan in the bedroom is very loud! Otherwise no complaints.

From the flower chains on arrival to thoughtful little gifts upon departure, we really felt they rolled out the red carpet for us! Accommodation is super clean and evokes a feeling of being at home. • Nadine (10/5): Great place to stay with great value for money and a friendly host. - Perfect apartment whilst staying in Papee'te. Has everything you need and a superfriendly host. The bed is super comfy, soft pillows and bedroom has both Aircon and a Fan. Aircon is a bit noisy but with good earplugs one doesn't hear it, but we had the fan on anyways whilst sleeping.
• Barrie (10/5): Fantastic apartment in the centre of Papeete - Heiata was a really really lovely host. Nothing was too much trouble, she always responded really quickly and gave us recommendations for our time in Tahiti. She even left us some Easter eggs in the fridge as it was Easter weekend! The flat is really lovely, beautifully decorated with air con in the bedroom. The little balcony is great to sit outside in a morning or evening around activities and enjoy the great view. The bathroom had really lovely shampoo, conditioner, etc, the kitchen had coffee and hot chocolate etc which made everything feel a little more like home. There is all the equipment to cook yourself in the apartment too. The centre of tahiti is just a 20min walk. We hired a car and there is secure parking in the apartment grounds. We would absolutely stay here again!! We wish we could have stayed here longer! The apartment is at the top of a steep hill, so although it was not a problem for us, something to bear in mind, especially if you're driving!

• E (10/5): Home away from home! - Such a nice cozy little apartment. All decorated for the holidays even! I have never met a more caring hostess than Heiata. She was quick to anticipate my every need and helpful in connecting me with services. The spotless apartment had just everything you could think of, and a kitchen just waiting to be cooked in. The view of the hills was lovely with clouds ever changing. That I had to leave so soon. Such a cozy little nest, especially on the rainy days.
