Guest Reviews
- Ken (10/5): 清潔! - 清潔、室温もよく快適でした。立地もよく何処のスキー場にも近い 朝食まぁ仕方ないですが、パンが好きであれば、まぁまぁかなと。
- Qurratuaini (10/5): -
- あよな (5/5): -
- Finn (8/5): - Nice host staff, clean and warm Photographs for the twin single option I booked showed an ensuite room.
The room given to us did not have an ensuite, instead a shared bathroom at the other end of the lodge.
- Matthew (8/5): -
- Chris (5/5): - Nice common area. Very loud.
No Wifi in our room.
- Lachlan (6/5): -
- craig (4/5): Very basic accommodation I would not stay again personally if you were just there to ski I am sure you would make it wor - Location is good Very basic accommodation no ensuite or tv and my room was very small also no fridge and also a very basic breakfast
- WanYIng (9/5): - 離巴士站票近,去雪場很方便,小幫手們也很親切 早餐可以多樣化更好🤣
- Jorryn (8/5): - The rooms were very nice and spacious. I also liked the common area and storage room for snow gear. The complementary breakfast was also good, and the location in relation to the ski resort I went to (Happo One) was really convenient.

Super clean Loved it
- Murphy (10/5): -
- Craig (9/5): Nice stay - Good location. Good community A little dated
- Brown (9/5): - Everything, Chris the owner is the biggest legend!
- Turpin (10/5): -
- Zoe (8/5): -
- Family Of 4 Summer (7/5): Just ok - This was a last minute decision and they were the only one close to my area We got booked on a bunker room not a private 2 person room
- Lloyd (9/5): A great place to stay in Echoland - Great chalet, clean, fun, warm, in great location and very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay there again.
- Todd (5/5): dont stay here with kids. - the place was warm, that's about it the reviews and description don't really match up with the experience we had. lots of review stating the place is good with kids. Definitely not little kids as others have stated. the ski and snowboard room is way to small for the number of people who stay. struggled to fine anywhere for our boards and boots due to people putting there entire snow get up in this area. The staff aren't really identified so you don't know who to speak to about the place.
- Tom (7/5): - Great location in Echoland with a short walk to shuttle buses and restaurants. The room was a decent size, clean and comfortable (with ensuite). Chris was super helpful and helped out with lifts for a small fee. The property is close quarters and you need to be prepared to share the space. This includes people closing doors and using hair dryers long after 10pm. This didn’t impact our stay, but worth noting.
- Farrsout (7/5): Great spot, great price, for a shared facility - Great spot in Echoland. A few minutes walk to the main area, and only a few more to the main hakuba valley shuttle stop at Spicy. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was simple yet plentiful. Nice communal lounge area to chill, and the showers were warm and powerful.
Chris the main host was friendly and helpful. Noise was a bit of a pain in the early hours and late hours as the walls were thin. Couldn't use the toilet in the morning a few times as children had locked themselves in to watch YouTube. One of the staff/guests would blowdry their hair late after showering and left hair all over the communal basin area each night. One of our group paid to use the washer/dryer machine (which took a very long time to dry), and when they returned to add more money to dry further, another staff/guest removed the wet clothes and dumped them to the side and started their own wash. This member of our group had to raid all our rooms for coat hangers and similar so they could hang all their family's clothes around the room. They had no pajamas to sleep in that night due to the inconsiderate move of this person.
- Noah (8/5): Was warm cozy and great place to go hit the slopes from - I liked the home cabin type feel it had , was a beautiful house with alot of cool ammenities was cozy and nice. Breakie could’ve been better I avoided it as it was mainly a cheap cereal/ a couple of hard boiled eggs and small sausages.
- Hanna (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Just a comftable - Clean , friendly, near to restaurants and bars , not far from bus.

- Hannah (10/5): Would love to stay here again - It was perfect for our short stay! Very warm, beds were relatively comfortable and the room was big. We had the only room with a private bathroom which was great. Staff were great, they gave us a ride to the station when no taxis were available (for a small fee)
- Luka (9/5): 👍 - A super cozy place to stay while skiing i loved it and the breakfast carried the whole day very nice staff also
- Ben (7/5): Good - Excellent location. Breakfast was adequate but not great. Bathrooms could be better.
- Shaun (10/5): great host! super friendly and helpful! -
- Nathan (7/5): Good -
- Rowland (8/5): Very good - Comfortable If you are not providing a full service, I think you should provide a commune kitchen, so people can eat on a budget
- Raymond (10/5): Exceptional - Great staff that were friendly and made us some authentic meals.
- Edward (9/5): Superb -
- Justine (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect place to stay in great location. Good sized room with great storage. Really helpful staff and all round a great place. Will be staying again.
- Dylan (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing stay, Chris was really helpful and accommodating. Went out of his way at the end of the trip to help me find a lost item. The chalet is awesome, has everything you need including a drying room and great breakfast. Short walk to the main street of echoland, really easy even after half a metre of snow over night. Nothing
- Reece (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kai (8/5): Very good -
- Liam (9/5): Superb -
- Mia (8/5): Very good -
- Sahara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (10/5): Perfect for a friends group stay and staff were helpful and super easy going - Excellent location and great facilities for a group stay N/A
- Ben (8/5): Very good - Comfy beds, easy check in and check out, nice foyer. Drying room was a bit cramped, Kamakura Room was a bit noisy being beside the internal stairs and the washing machine.
- Harry (9/5): Great people, great service, bedding was ok, shared bathrooms were clean, overall great for the cost - The location is incredibly cute, with slippers for all the guests and a great ski and snowboard storage area..
Our experience was that if you spend any time in the common area, the majority of the residents were Australians and were all quite lovely. Most people staying at the property spent most of their time out/in their rooms but there were about 3-4 parties who spent a lot of time in the common area with us which made the experience quite enjoyable.
Further we were late for breakfast on two occasions, in which upon asking staff they cook a few more eggs and re-set up the toasters which was so nice of them despite us telling them it was ok. Overall the spot was great! The only complaint / piece of advice I have is if you’re coming in winter for skiing or snowboarding etc. the walk from the bus stop to the property is quite cumbersome if you have a lot of bags as you’re dragging them through ice and snow. Thus I’d suggest booking a cab when on your way for check in or check out. That and irrelevant to the property but as a student local food joints are pretty expensive so if you’re on an especially tight budget I’d suggest packing some instant noodles or anything you can make with just boiling water and a knife…
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (8/5): Really great location & staff. The breakfast was exceptional - Woman’s shower downstairs & had to walk past everyone to get in there
- Kathryn (7/5): Nice skiing stay - Location - handy to shuttles, restaurants and convenience store. Included breakfast was good and set us up for the day. Some communal areas (e.g. wash basin outside men's bathroom) wasn't super clean (toothpaste splatters etc). Baths weren't very appealing (one was quite dusty and had a dead beetle).
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Renee (7/5): Good -
- Tomasz (9/5): Great location, friendly staff - Fantastic customer service. Nothing was too difficult. Chris, Chalet Manager, was amazing.
- Rachel (8/5): Great value for money - Good value for money, convenient location, helpful staff Breakfast is included so it is fine but very basic.
- William (10/5): Great spot with amazing staff would highly recommend - The staff are so friendly and helpful and can’t do enough to help you, the house is set up well with shared kitchen and bathroom and you are a short walk to bars restaurants and the bus stop for the slopes Bus times and availability’s can be frustrating and can take an hour to get to slopes
- Amber (7/5): Nice place - good value for money with friendly staff - Friendly staff easy location for buses to various ski resorts Bathrooms/toilets not regularly cleaned
Limited variety and late timing of breakfast
- Broadie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aika (6/5): Pleasant -
- Noah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jon (7/5): Okay - Good location. Not many bathrooms/toilets for the number of people staying and they weren’t cleaned often enough. Thin walls so got a bit noisy when trying to sleep. The drying room was really small.
- Shannon (7/5): Good -
- Rikki (8/5): Good short stop to see the snow. - Homely vibe. It’s a really nice place we just don’t usually have a shared bathroom (booked late - to be fair mostly my son who struggled with this!) so that wasn’t great for us but perfectly fine bathrooms if that doesn’t bother you.
- Mark (10/5): A magical place for the family - Family friendly place! Chris (the manager) was truly awesome. He can arrange pickups to and from anywhere in Hakuba Valley. He speaks English, Cantonese and Nihonggo. The place was really cozy and peaceful. Comfy beds. Room had a wooden smell which was nice. Walking distance from restos and gear rental shops. It was a magical place for me and my family. Nothing
- Britt (9/5): Overall great stay. - Great location in Echoland. Very cosy and comfy chalet. Always kept clean. No Complaints. Storage room was a little small.
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clark (10/5): My family of four kids and two adults had a fantastic stay here. - We enjoyed the breakfast and the staff were very helpful in all things going above and beyond to meet our needs. Chris even cleaned off my family van because he knew I would be leaving that morning. If you don't mind sharing a bathroom, that is kept very clean, then this is a great spot to launch off to skiing from.
- Meehan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nelson (10/5): Will definitely return - Very close to convenience store, quite and peaceful place. Nothing
- Chun (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful location
Very comfortable to stay None
- Chun (10/5): Exceptional - 1. 很舒服的空間,廚房有各式各樣的必須品,環境清幽
2. Great location, perfect place for family and friends
3. Convenient, cozy stay and well equipped, will recommend to all my friends
4. 離八方尾根雪場很近,周圍都是餐廳,很方便,屋子的空間很寬敞舒適
5. Clean and comfortable place, free parking, we enjoyed staying here.
- Chung (10/5): Exceptional - My wife was very satisfied with Chris's recommendation of places to visit and foods to eat. I have a reservation to take my child skiing this New Year's holiday. Thank you very much for your help. See you at New Year's.
- Alain (10/5): Excellent stay in this nice place - Good location and friendly staff. Very clean
- Alain (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (9/5): Great accommodation for a 7 night snowboarding holiday. - The manager Chris, runs a clean, tidy, well presented, comfortable chalet.
Nicely located in Echoland for access to restaurants, bars, convenience store and free buses to the ski slopes.
The double futon bed was comfortable. Room was simple with good heating, and the shared facilities were well maintained.
I would happily stay at the Moment Chalet again.
- Stuart (10/5): Amazing - Very chill and easy brekky, was really nice before hitting the slopes Nothing
- Lisa-marie (8/5): Very good - The staff was really helpful in everything we needed from how to go get rentals to which bus to take and extra blankets for the room. You could get breakfast for 200yen which I thought was great. Shower and toilets very clean and laundry facilities available for a little bit of money. Only a couple minutes walk to get ski rental and the free shuttle buy. Good value for money, and you feel very welcomed by the staff. We extended a night! The beds were a bit uncomfortable.
- Isabella (10/5): amazing property with great staff - Chris was the best! - Amazing property with great staff! Chris was the best and went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Good location too with easily accessible busses. Walls were a little bit thin so could hear noise easily
- Harrison (10/5): Great value for money in a beautiful ski town. - GREAT STAY! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. This property had a very homely feel and Chris and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The accomodation was very clean and warm and right in Echoland which was a great location. The snow was dumping when we arrived and our days snowboarding were great. Easy access by bus to each of the 10 Hakuba resorts, especially close to Happo.
- Cassandra (9/5): Beautiful accommodation, excellent location, and the best house manager you could hope for with Chris. We will be coming - The house is beautifully styled and in the perfect location to walk to ski buses and all the food stops in Echoland. The shared spaces were beautifully styled and functional. The Kyoto room was spacious and very comfortable. Chris the house manager was absolutely fantastic, providing breakfast each morning, giving support and recommendations for ski locations, transport and food. Everything ran smoothly thanks to Chris, he helped us with lifts back to the train station and providing us access to the staff washing machine for an emergency load of washing. We are very grateful to Chris for his fantastic hosting. Being a share house the walls were thin when people were using the shared space outside of your bedroom and you could hear people talking easily. This was supported by Chris who ensured people remembered to be quiet after 10pm so it wasn’t a huge issue but something to note
- David (6/5): Good location - Good location, good communal kitchen, staff were reasonable with breakfast and nice rooms. Dirty bathrooms
- Yi (10/5): Exceptional - The environment is really cozy, and the staffs are very enthusiastic, able to communicate fluently in English. The breakfast is very affordable as well , and the environment is clean and tidy.
- Tiffany (5/5): Passable -
- Rachel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Guy (7/5): Good -
- Samantha (7/5): We had a great stay, we enjoyed the shared common areas, breakfast daily was good before hitting the slopes, and the loc - Great location, easy to access shuttles, not far from the main gondola and town, restaurants close by The shared bathrooms weren’t super clean
- Henry (7/5): An enjoyable chalet for anyone looking to experience skiing in Hakuba - Great stay with perfect location near echoland Bathrooms could have been slightly cleaner but otherwise was sufficient
- Jiau (8/5): Good location - Spacious , clean , friendly staffs None
- Sven (10/5): Exceptional - Our host Chris was the most helpful host we ever had. He assisted us if we had any problems, showed us the best onsens, helped us to get around Hakuba whatever the time, fixed us the necessary equipment to go backcountry skiing and so on... He even took us for a morning ride in the backcountry of Happo One.
Definitely THE most helpful host and person!!
