The room we stayed in, as are all rooms, immaculate and luxuriously decorated. A delicious breakfast was available and it had a comprehensive choice. We would fully recommend staying in this accommodation. The windows were also easy to open and close and there was free parking. Nothing

Its rural setting has lovely gardens to enjoy and has amazing views across the river Wye valley and up to the mountains beyond. It was so peaceful there. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was large and comfortable with elegant decor. The breakfasts were generous and well cooked, with a good choice on offer. I was sad when the time came to leave as it was starting to feel like home! We would highly recommend this superior B & B. I should have read the travel instructions before leaving home to have avoided getting lost! Still, one phone call and they guided me in!

- Paul (9/5): Superb - We REALLY enjoyed our stay at The Skreen, a beautiful country house and gardens nestling in the picturesque Welsh countryside. The only external sound we were aware of during our stay was birdsong! After receiving the warmest of welcomes we were taken to the lovely Blue Ash room which is extremely comfortable and has a luxurious bathroom with a choice of shower and bath. Breakfast was delicious and although I would have quite liked fruit and yogurt to be included in the choices, the cooked breakfast was of excellent quality and kept us going all day! Foyles restaurant at Glasbury is a fantastic place for dinner and David was more than happy to recommend a variety of places to eat in the area. The Skreen is perfect for anyone who would like a comfortable stay in idyllic surroundings.

- Sue (10/5): An oasis of calm tranquillity - The Skreen is a beautifully restored manor house situated in the Wye valley, just outside of the historic market town of Builth Wells. On the approach you are greeted by the sweeping return of the gravel drive, leading into the well-tended lawn and gardens, all of which frame the surrounding landscape to perfection, capped off by the Black Mountains in the distance. The reception and main hallway are the first inkling of the exceptionally high standards you can expect throughout the property. This second only to the very warm welcome from your hosts, David and Julie. The dining hall is a sublime mix of old and new, beautifully blended to provide a comfortable and stylish room full of curios and personal touches. Expect a sumptuous spread at breakfast, the full Welsh is heartily recommended, well-prepared and served with convivial conversation by your hosts. The Green Room is nothing less than a lesson in sartorial elegance. Wonderfully positioned to overlook the lawn and gardens, with a décor that is worthy of a high-end London boutique. The curated furniture and furnishings are well presented in a clean and comfortable way. This is style with, not over, substance. If you do want to venture out The Skreen is ideally located for walking or cycling in the stunning scenery or to visit local towns such as Hay on Wye and Foyles at Glasbury is fabulous for dinner. A 2 night stay simply was not enough to fully appreciate this oasis of calm tranquillity - we have already booked to come back and stay longer! Having to leave!

The location is breathtaking , Davi and Julie are so welcoming and warm and the property is of the highest level. The breakfast was excellent. If you take the walk up to the view point and look down into the valley it is so worth it. I find it very hard to find fault as my partner and i thought it was superb and look forward to going back. Only thing i can say is we had a standard double bed and we are used to a king so found that did'nt suit us, but we took last available room which happened to have a double where as other rooms have king size beds. It was very comfortable anyway and a minor point.

- Anne (10/5): A very enjoyable break in a beautiful place surrounded by stunning countryside. - Stunning location with beautiful views. The house was exceptionally presented. The hosts were very friendly and spent time with us. Initially had difficulty finding the Skreen but when we called the host drove out to collect us and lead the way. Great full breakfast with options of cereals, tea and coffee. No fresh fruit on breakfast buffet like blueberries, for example. Initially difficult to find but the host very kindly came out to find us!
- Vikki (10/5): Excellent place to stay in Builth Wells!! 5 STARS!! - LOVED EVERYTHING!! The room was exactly like the photo, the bathroom was spaceous and the house was incredible! The bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower was lovely! The owners were amazing, friendly, attentive and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious!! There wasn't nothing I didn't like.

House and room were beautiful, so thoughtfully furnished and decorated, all deluxe and very spacious, alongside extremely comfortable beds. Breakfast excellent. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Could not have asked for more, highly recommend.

- Pumajka (10/5): This was one of the most beautiful houses I've stayed in - fantastic gardens and scenery. - I didn't go into breakfast but David made me a delicious bacon sandwich to take with me. Julie was very helpful, especially when I got lost on my way and she gave me very useful instructions to guide me. I was delighted with everything but if I had to nitpick, I wish the windows had been easier to open
