Guest Reviews
- catherine (10/5): -
- Oliver (5/5): - Hole in floor no dish towels or washing up liquid or hoover
- Simon (8/5): Clean and tidy with. Friendly host - Clean and tidy and ideal for our one night stay Nothing all good
- Line (8/5): Lovely - Lots of space for our family. Nice to haves garden. A bit worn but ok.
- Stephanie (9/5): - Super central location and very nice hosts. Easy to check in and all the info we needed was in a folder plus message we received. Parking round the corner on Bath Car Park was easy and affordable. As it's an old house with single glazing, the top bedrooms get fairly cold at night but there isn't much that can be done about that.
- Nicole (9/5): Great house, lovely location and charm. - Gorgeous house, with character and charm, comfortable, warm and spacious. Location is great. Beds are great, sofas are great. Parking is a bit tricky, we had 3 cars between 7 of us. We pre-booked 2 spaces on JustPark and parked one the other side of Bath Rd where it’s free.
Saturday night and Sundays are free in the car park around the corner. But Mon - Sat times are restricted. Permit parking only in front of the house after initial 2hrs.
- Lisa (4/5): Wouldn’t come back - The house was dirty and tired. I contacted the owners and they did respond but I was told it had been cleaned. The bed covers were dirty, it hadn’t been hoovered properly. The toilets had stains. There is definitely some maintenance to be carried out too.
- Nicholas (10/5): Perfect month-long family stay - Travelling with little ones can be tricky, but this place is genuinely family-friendly. A crib was available, and the thoughtful touches—even a small kids’ book collection—made our toddlers feel right at home from day one. All told, this home strikes a lovely balance between period charm and everyday comfort. We’d happily return and recommend it to any family looking for a comfortable base in Cheltenham—and for exploring the wider Cotswolds when you have the time.
- Emma (10/5): Fabulous - Fantastic property. Beautiful house. Close to town centre and places to eat.
- Christina (8/5): Perfectly Adequate - The house was big, the beds and sofas were comfy, and as we could adjust the heating warm, in freezing temperatures. Well located with everything you might need a short walk or very short drive away. There was a dirty tissue on the bed side table, and peanuts and dirt under furniture, that my grandson found and nearly ate. There was not enough loo roll for the weekend, which was annoying. A coffee machine and tea bags provided would also have been nice. Maybe some little touches to make the house feel more homely . I did message the owner in the week before asking for a cot to be set up, but had no response, and there was no cot.
- Ann (7/5): Lovely property, nice architecture features, loved the light switches, the bath and bathroom sinks. - Nice location, easy to get to the town centre, pubs and shops. Because it is an old house it lacks insulation so unless a very heavy sleeper you might be disturbed by the traffic. There was a dish washer apparently but we couldn't use it as the drawer knob was attached with blu tack and it fell off when we tried to open it. The wine fridge was great as was the ninja fryer although we didn't use it. Lovely dining room. All rooms spacious. The car park is very nearby. It was great for five of us. We liked the architectural features. When the heating and hot water stopped working on the last day late afternoon I contacted the property manager who came over and sorted it out which was very much appreciated. Nice touch to have the Christmas tree up. Property had lots of character and was comfortable. Personally I would have appreciated a mat in the actual shower as I found it slippery. We had to wash up some of the plates before use they were not clean. Apart from a child's plastic bowl I couldn't see what else we could use in the microwave so we didn't use the microwave. Nice sized fridge and freezer. I personally found the towels on the small side.
- Kathryn (1/5): Very disappointing, weekend spoilt by state of house. - N/A How long have you got. I have a list of 27 complaints about the property and will be looking for a refund on the price.
The boiler wasn't working, no heating or hot water, my brother fixed it with a bitvof telephone help from Keiran but no offer of anyone coming out to look at it.
We never got the TV to show terrestial channels, with no help from the managers.
The whole house was dirty or more honestly, it was filthy. We had to clean the fridge before we could use it.the floors and rugs were dirty and we couldn't allow the children to play on the floor. I cannot describe the filth behind the sofa, we had to keep it hard against the wall to protect the children
Your lovingly restored floor has holes in it by the since and was stuck together with blue gaffer tape.
The fully equipped kitchen was anything but. 2 usable saucepans both filthy and caked with burnt on crud. I was providing a meal for the 7 of us on the Friday night. Luckily I had cooked it at home and came ready to reheat. If I had bought all the ingredients to cook there we would have gone hungry. Honestly 2 saucepans for a house that can house 8 people? There were as many dog bowls as saucepans. There were no cooking dishes. We couldn't get the oven to work, only the grill, which was as good as useless. There were no kitchen towel rolls, there were no tea towels. The know on the dishwasher fell off and couldn't be fixed on and only with much pulling did we manage to get it open. We had to prop it open using the filthy towel that was left there. There weren't enough mugs, 5 in total, for up to 8 people. There were loads of odd wine glasses but no tu.blers. there were some expresso cups. All the crockery was dirty and had to be washed. There was food packaging that was best before 17 Dec and a box of biscuits left on a shelf. There is a water stain on the kitchen ceiling. There was totally insufficient cleaning materials. I will put the remainder in an...
- Andrea (8/5): Enjoyed our stay even after card scam , nice house , good location - Fabulous location , lovely house .owners very informative and pleasant . Needs two proper bathrooms , more attention to cleaning ( rubbish found under bed ) , need instructions for cooker . Main bedroom fab , but other three had no mirror and no mirror in small toilet . For 6 guests it would be problematic. Also a note to say don’t use QR code in carpark - it was a scam .
- Maaike (8/5): A very lovely place, we would definitely come again! - The house is beautiful and the location is great - it was a nice walk into town and things like chip shops and supermarkets were just around the corner. The recliner sofas were a big hit with everyone as well! The host was excellent, we felt really welcome and at home. We loved the kitchen with its range cooker but found there weren't very many pans, cutting boards etc., so we had to improvise a bit when cooking. Also lots and lots of wine glasses, but hardly any water/ soft drink glasses - although we understand the priority there. ;-)
- Donna (9/5): Perfect location for a short stay in Cheltenham - The location was great for accessing Cheltenham We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return
- PAUL (9/5): Overall a wonderful stay and would have no hesitation in returning to this property again - location was perfect to attend the County cricket match at Cheltenham college less than 10minutes walk away.
In addition there were numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants within similar walking distance Nothing I can honestly think of
- Rachel (9/5): Great accommodation and location - The property had a mix of rustic charm and boutique accommodation. The bedrooms were fantastic and comfortable. We loved the reclining sofas and the tiny courtyard garden was great. It was great value for a 2 night getaway and the location was fantastic for independent eateries and coffee shops not forgetting super charity shopping! The kitchen was fitted out with the basics but not kitted out for people who come to cook, however the area has lots of choice for eating out. We had a little trouble with the range oven not working & couldn't find an instruction manual but the host did their best to help out.
- Nicky (10/5): Again really really happy with our stay 5 star ⭐ - Every thing about this property
Excellent
Would highly highly recommend Nothing we didn’t like
- Hasini (7/5): A lovely getaway with my family and got to explore Cheltenham. would visit again - The house was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing stay. I especially appreciated the separate dining area that opened up to a lovely outdoor space great for enjoying meals or just unwinding. The property is pet-friendly, and my little cat loved exploring the greenery outside.
The kitchen was well-equipped with cutlery, pots and pans, washing liquid, and other essentials, which made cooking easy and convenient. The location is also excellent, right in the city, making it ideal for wandering around and exploring Cheltenham. There were plenty of shops, all within walking distance.
I’d definitely love to visit again! There are just a couple of small things that could make the place even better, adding mirrors and a bin in the rooms would be super handy.
- Lm (9/5): Superb -
- Lesley (10/5): Beautiful and comfortable Georgian Town House, would Highly recommend! - I would highly recommend this property.Good location, excellent communication with the owners beforehand and easily understood instructions for entry and parking. Rooms and beds were comfortable with excellent storage. Kitchen very well equipped with everything you would need. Two local car parks literally 1 minutes walk away for which you can use the ‘PaybyPhone’ app, cash or card. We were in Cheltenham for a specific reason so we didn’t do much exploring but there appeared to be various shops, supermarkets, petrol stations and eateries nearby. There was nothing that we didn’t like about the property.
- Lisa (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (7/5): Good -
