Guest Reviews
- Matteo (9/5): -

- Zafar (4/5): Disappointing - It looks nice but. It has lots of stairs and some of the stairs are broken It looks nice but. It has lots of stairs and some of the stairs are broken
- Marek (6/5): Pleasant - While the hostel’s best days are behind it—some areas need renovation, and improved cleaning would be welcome—the staff was helpful and attentive. Unfortunately, the walls between rooms are thin, so you can hear everything going on. For the price, there are definitely better options available.
- Monteiro (7/5): Good -
- Santos (8/5): Very good -
- Daniela (1/5): Bad - When we arrived it didn’t feel like a safe place to stay. There was a homeless camping right in front of the hostel with several tents, so we decided to find another place to stay.
- Adolphe (5/5): Full privacy and good Nepali restaurant - Took a room with 2 individual beds, there were so few people with that kind op room that it looked like we each had our own shower and toilet. €30 per night per person not too bad I saw a cockroach casually crawling from beneath one bed to under the other bed. Cockroaches were even walking among the people on the streets day and night so I’m not sure who to blame to be honest… but they were barely noticeable in the streets.
- Natalia (8/5): Very good -
- Bredvik (6/5): Pleasant - It's a fully functional Hostel, with a Kitchen, multiple bathroom options, our room had a (much needed) fan, a Balcony, and the room was clean. We were able to check in without problems at a rather late hour. Because the hostel is by a main street, it can get very, very loud, and the door to our hall also slammed, which could result in issues if you're a light sleeper. Our Room was somewhat less nicely furnished than we had hoped.
- Amine (2/5): Very poor -
- Jana (4/5): Disappointing - The staff member on reception was welcoming and so nice. Lots of charging ports. Close to metro. Has coffee and tea available. Pretty rough area and no aircon which meant open windows with lots of fights and drunk people outside. There’s no elevator, and lots of stairs. Bring an eye mask, the lights are motion sensor so they go on anytime someone goes in the hallway to use bathrooms etc. Was overpriced, but somewhat okay if you only need a bed to sleep.
- Rocío (6/5): Pleasant - The hostel is very well located, about a 15-minute walk from the historical center.
Beds were really comfortable and the check out was at 12.00 pm. Room's AC was out of order (in July) and the corredors had a very unpleasant smell.
- Marie-soleil (7/5): Good -
- Martin (2/5): I should have checked better what a hostel is I guess :D -
- Nic (4/5): Dodgy men outside - The room was nice and very comfortable Outside the street is full of dodgy men who are staying in tents and high in the street. Do not stay here if you're female traveller.
- Thomas (5/5): Acceptable. - The room was clean and we had access to a bathroom and shower. The location was not good. We did not go out for dinner or breakfast. It was very noisy in the middle of the night.
- Mohsan (1/5): Bad - Unfortunately nothing
- Mariam (7/5): Good -
- Md (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nduta (7/5): Good -
- Gregor (1/5): Worst place I’ve ever been - It’s so noisy that it’s impossible to sleep.
- Thalassa (1/5): BED BUGS!!!!!! - BED BUGS!!!!!! Terrible experience, health hazard
Poor internet connection
- Anthony (1/5): Bad -
- Ismile (5/5): Passable -
- Tamas (7/5): Clean hostel - value for money - Great value for money Booked a room with balcony which was not available upon arrival but we got one the first morning. Maybe it’s better to cleify before
- Lurdes (9/5): Perfect property , location and price for a short to medium stay . Will definitely stay there again - Fantastic location , love the old building and the balcony in the room . Love the great price . Lovely hosts . Would definitely stay there again . The only thing that could be improved is perhaps the showers . Boiling or very cold water in the shower , very hard to mix to correct temperature . Otherwise absolutely perfect .
- Kiran (1/5): Thank you very much - I don't like anything...very bad Service
Stuff
Staff
Bathroom
So many thing
- Kola-aderoju (6/5): Pleasant -
- Paolo (5/5): Passable - Locations Bathroom - No lift
- Victor (4/5): Disappointing -
- Phil (1/5): Everything went wrong and staff were unhelpful - It was a really bad experience overall First day, police investigation of the entire hostel. No explanation from staff. Second day the hostel failed a fire safety inspection and we had to me moved from a private room to a dorm with no lock on the door. Third day I found bed bugs. I requested a refund for the fourth night. They were unhelpful with the refund so I called the booking.com team who tried to communicate with the hostel. The hostel kept telling us to wait for another few hours before we could get a refund. We decided to leave as we did not expect to receive a refund.
- Paova82 (6/5): Does the job - great value for money especially considering the area its in. - I liked the location and the fact that the room included a fan already, and having a little balcony was very sweet. It was near a really nice breakfast place called BRICK! Very much would recommend :) I didn't like that it was in front of the main road, which isn't the hostels fault, but it meant my friend and I were in a bit of a scary situation the first night where a guy kind of shouted as us in entering. But that's being a woman unfourtunately -- just watch out as main roads are indeed better lit but more suspicious characters around.
- Sean (8/5): Very enjoyable and would definitely come back and recomend for cheap pleasant stay as a couple visiting lisbon :) - Great view, very clean, friendly staff, good facilities which were all very clean. Room was very pretty and whole place was great value for money. Little bit loud but was not really a problem.
- Rafael (2/5): I'd find somewhere else to stay if you can afford it. - - good mattress
- it is close to the subway.
- the kitchen had microwave and toaster
- wifi was ok
- towels and a bottle of water - I could not communicate with staff (they did not speak English or Portuguese very well)
- the room does not have a key
- there is no safe place to store luggage
- the building is very old and it is not well preserved
- kitchen did not have any water purification system
- room is noisy during the night due to the road in front
- neighborhood does not seem very nice
- Rsasha96 (5/5): Passable -
- Clara (1/5): Bed bugs and bad hygiene - I think i brought back bed bugs to my country because of this hostel
- Zeynep (1/5): At any moment police can come to your room suddenly (at 7 am) without even knocking the door, and make passport control -
- Adelina (1/5): Bad - Location Today I've been to a dermatolog because of an extreme rash with itching all over my body that started during my stay in this hostel and developed two days after with extreme itching and the diagnosis was bites of bedbugs. The friend of mine that stayed with me in the same room has the same symptoms but not that worse as mine. Although at a first glance seemed cleaned, apparently wasn't and I really hope that the Hostel will remediate de problem.
Beside of that there is a lot of noise from outside but also from the inside/corridor and everything is old, things that I've expected after reading the reviews, but the bedbugs are no go. Couldn't go to work because of this situation.
- Liam (3/5): Poor -
- Davide (7/5): Good - We liked the location and the cleanliness. The extreme noise that kept us from sleeping in the morning. Plus the fact that we could not communicate to the staff - neither in portuguese or english.
- Armando (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ance (5/5): Passable -
- Ilias (5/5): Passable -
- Anonymous (1/5): terrible DO NOT STAY HERE! - nothing unclean, no security, could walk into the room from the street with no door lock, suitcases everywhere in the room (overcrowded), no lockable storage, no storage only a shared cupboard, we left immediately then we’re refused a refund for the night as we “had already checked in” even though we did not even sit on our beds.
- Rathnayake (5/5): Normal - Closer to the place where I wanted to visit Crowded
- Paul (1/5): Bad - Noise - couldn’t sleep for two nights - room next door were playing loud music all through the night
- Sofia (4/5): Disappointing - Comfortable beds No privacy. You can hear everything from the rooms and bathroom and some other guests were rude to respect that privacy
- Sanjeev (7/5): Good -
- Cecilia (7/5): Good -
- Jannatul (8/5): Very good - It was an excellent experience to stay at the place. The receptionist was always available and so helpful to us. We are so satisfied with the cleanliness and their service. I would definitely like to stay in the same place again during my next trip to Lisbon.
- Florina (5/5): Passable -
- Robert (4/5): Do not stay in rooms 2 or 3 - Price is good, neighbourhood is lively, reasonably clean The bell for the door rang all night long (it sounds like an alarm clock), and the motion sensor turned the light in the hallway on every time someone passed. Did not get any sleep at all.
- Sunar (1/5): To booring - No more I don’t like that hostel
- Aashika (3/5): Poor. - The colour of the adjacent room wall, orange, was nice.
The location. Did not look like the photos.
Expected a lot more.
Walls were too thin.
- Singh (8/5): Very good -
- Pramod (7/5): Good -
- Jagat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ruta (9/5): Superb -
- Supattra (1/5): Bad -
- Victor (5/5): Passable -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Thomas (4/5): Strange cameras - Location was good, next to subway There was a shared bathroom across the hallway, which was fine, however it was very weird that there were two cameras in that hallway, of which one had a view inside the bathroom when the door was open.
- Singh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Husam (1/5): Very bad experience - Location Everything was not really good ,, much noisy, the hostel in the main road, many cars, also the metro line,, , also too noisy from the other rooms. Light in the hallway lights the entire room at night. it was not good for sleeping,,hard to get hot water,,,There is no wardrobe in the room,,, man can get something better,, the only good thing is the location,,, ,,,, also was not really clean,, I really found Bud bug,,, it's OK only one or two nights,,
- Mike (6/5): Pleasant -
- Cesar (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ram (1/5): Bad -
- L (7/5): Good -
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Moa (7/5): Nice, worth the price. But i think you can get something Nicer for the same price - I liked that the room had a balcony ☺️ Too noisy from other rooms and dors
- Ken_suziki (3/5): Poor -
- Viktoria (7/5): Good - The free coffe and tea, furthermore the location. The room was comfy and safe Not clean bathroom, noisy flatmates
- Usman (7/5): Good -
- Tadiello (7/5): It was a good experience! hosts were nice and bedrooms were clean. 3 different bathrooms to use on our floor which was n - We really liked the location of the property! it was super close to the subways and it had nice shops, coffees and a supermarket close by. On the other hand, because it was super close to the subways, it was also very loud. the kitchen was super small so you couldn’t really have a meal there if you wanted, had to eat in the bedroom. if someone was walking on the hostel’s hallway’s you could also hear everything from your room.
- Matteo (3/5): Poor -
- Erkin (4/5): Disappointing - The only thing I liked - it is not too far from the center and the subway is nearby. 1. Dirty and filthy bathroom. This is the most disappointing thing.
2. Hot water is unstable - taking shower is a little pain.
3. There is no wardrobe in the room (we booked individual room with shared bathroom) - only a few shelves.
4. The room is not clean and smells unfreashy.
5. Very thin walls, noisy. Very intensive traffic outside window.
- Giulio (5/5): Passable - position noises
- Julien (1/5): Very bad - Bud bugs, hostel creepy
- Samfira (5/5): Passable -
- Sanz (8/5): very nice place to stay, specially for single bedroom -
- Vlad (5/5): Passable - The bed was comfy but it made a lot of noise. The doorknob was broken which turned out to be extremely annoying.
- Artur (8/5): Very good - Good price, well connected and with restaurants close as it is an old building the stairways, because I travelled with my mom with some mobility issues
- Abdullah (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - Very nice and friendly people working there. In the morning tea was offered, which was also very nice
- Dennis (6/5): Pleasant -
- Henry (7/5): Good -
- Amanda (1/5): flea infestation! - Was terrible! the building is not in the location that is on the record, the employee goes to another building, which is more than 10 minutes away. plus I have been sleeping in a bed with flea infestation! I woke up with stings all over my body! I spent a lot of money on medicines, due to the lack of cleanliness in the environment. I think it's a lack of responsibility on Booking's not to verify the accuracy of the hostel's location, and the lack of hygiene.
- Adrian (8/5): perfect for backpackers and super central - doesn’t reflect the bad marks on booking. super central, big room, good fan that doesn’t make noise. Very helpful staff they left us check in early upon arrival stored our luggage when we were leaving and helped us book our bus ticket online. the room was quiet considering it is on a busy street. it has balconies. FYI we stayed in a twin bed room with shared bathroom. we are backpackers so this was a perfect option for us. if you are looking for a modern super confortable hotel this might not be your first pick. the price is way too expensive though but considering that it seems like Lisbon has gone crazy on accommodation prices it might be normal. place is a little run down but nothing bothering
- Saud (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kamran (2/5): Very poor -
- Carlos (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (10/5): the Peopel are very kind - the facility of the hood, also the Kindness of the staff the building
- Alessandro (4/5): Disappointing - Balcony of the room Place is leterally scraping away by it self
