Beverly (8/5): Quiet and peaceful - I had a spacious modern room and bathroom. The guesthouse is located close to the tourist beach and there is an excellent restaurant nearby. It was very quiet. A speedboat can be booked to transfer from the airport to the island for $45 each way - few run each day so you need to check in relation to flights. The island is very small and quiet - no cars, and you can walk around it in 15 minutes. There is nothing to do except beach or trips - prices range $40 - $90 depending on time and distance. Great for a relaxing holiday. I booked a deluxe room with balcony - expecting to have my own private balcony. It was, however, a small Juliet balcony 100x50cm. No rooms have private balconies and the rooms at the front lead directly onto communal terraces - these are the ones shown in the pictures. Breakfast was basic with no tea or coffee.

Cristina (9/5): Great stay - Friendly and helpful staff, we have done various tours with them and they were spectacular and well organised There can be a lot of difference between the rooms. We had two, and one was very small on the ground floor with no window in the bathroom. Others, however, are spacious and have terraces and spaces for hanging out clothes.

Hôte arrangeant et flexible pour le bon timing/visibilité « nurse shark » J’ai pris des nuits en plus. Le bateau retour réservé par l’hôte est parti avant l’heure sans moi…cela a été stressant mais ils ont rapidement trouvé une solution, merci Soyez prudents sur les horaires
Nico Djards (7/5): Cosy place by the beach - Spacious air conditioned room with comfortable bed, in a perfect location - Very close to tourist beach. Upstairs veranda is great for breakfast and chill time. Staff (Sunday and Zakir) were friendly and helpful, provided information on the island and transfers/transport. Ahmed the owner is very responsive and caring. Breakfast was generous and served within our preferred times. The bathroom could be cleaner on arrival, and the room could be cleaned more frequently. Duvets were not available - adjust the Air-conditioning accordingly!

Anna-Margrethe (8/5): PERFEKT ♥️ - Hold nu op, et dejligt sted. Skøn ro og afslappende. Ejer og de ansatte gjorde vores oplevelse på øen fuldkommen fantastisk. Vi fik besøg af sjove papegøjer på vores terrasse og kunne se flying dogs om natten. De folk vi mødte på øen var så søde og i mødekommende, det var en fornøjelse at gå på shopping i de små forretninger. Stedet ligger få meter fra havet og et par hundrede meter fra bikinistranden. Det er et af de mest fantastiske snorkel steder vi har været.. der er fisk i alle afskygninger over alt. FANTASTISK Ø ♥️ At vi havde booket det i forkort tid 😉

Dès la réservati - L’ile de Mahibadhoo est située à une distance raisonnable de Malé. Tout était parfait, de l’organisation en amont jusqu’à notre départ, en passant par les excursions proposées.

We joined a number of excursions with them eg whaleshark, manta, sunset fishing, sunset dinner in inhabited island, snorkeling tours All of them went above and beyond - very thoughtful arrangement, good food etc. - quiet room near to the sea, good location - good breakfast - very warm service highly recommended!

La camera era al piano terra non avevamo finestre, il bagno era cieco ma si affacciava su un piccolo pertucio. Le ciabatte si lasciano all'esterno della Guest house. La colazione basilare da zero a zero. L'isola ha una bella barriera, si può arrivare a nuoto dalla bikini beach. Le escursioni sono affascinanti Nell'isola purtroppo nel primo pomeriggio bruciano i rifiuti comprese le plastiche e l'odore acre arriva fino alla bikini beach. nella spiaggia ma anche in giro nell'isola ci sono tanti rifiuti lasciati sulla spiaggia. E' davvero un peccato l'isola potrebbero tenerla in modo migliore
Raquel (10/5): This cozy hotel and its owner, Ahmed, made our stay in the Maldives unforgettable. - Our best hotel in Maldives. It's a small, very welcoming, and family-run hotel. The owner, Ahmed, and his team made us feel right at home. They create a great atmosphere with the other guests, and we felt very comfortable. Mahibadhoo is a local island with a very good house-reef. We saw even some sharks just swimming around the island by ourselves! The trips have a good price and Ahmed does everything he can to ensure you enjoy the experience. They have free fins and mask if you need them. We took the whale shark and manta ray excursion with them, and they really did their best to make sure we saw them. I could swim alongside a whale shark and then with a manta ray, and it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Even after we moved to another hotel on a nearby island, we continued to book excursions with them. Ahmed truly cares about his guests and makes you feel at home. If I can go back someday, I'll definitely book with them again. I really think that finding this place made our holidays un unforgettable experience. Thank you Ahmed Everything was perfect. Just to say something, breakfast could be better. And the room is cleaned every three days (For us, It was ok, but maybe it would be nice to have clean towels every two days).

Paulina (10/5): - There was absolutely nothing to dislike about propriety nor people there. Atmosphere is slow and chill, rooms bright, very clean and specious. Breakfast were simple but tasty and we could borrow everything we need to snorkel and have a good time on the beach. But most important part of the stay was people who worked there - owner and two gentlemen who worked in Raalhu Fonu are really helpful, kind and sweet people, making you feel like home away from home. We all have really enjoyed time we spent chatting with all of them. I can’t imagine better place for family holiday and I’m already looking forward to come back to this fantastic place and people.
Laura (10/5): Soggiorno piacevole con vista! - Guest House in posizione perfetta, con vista mare a pochi passi dalla bikini beach e ad uno dei (pochi) ristoranti dell'isola (buono). Abbiamo scelto la camera al secondo e ultimo piano con accesso diretto sul terrazzo, molto comodo per stendere le proprie cose e ammirare la vista. Letto comodissimo e aria condizionata efficiente. Staff super disponibile, sempre responsivo via whatsapp anche in merito alla gestione del transfer in speed boat. Abbiamo anche partecipato ad un'escursione e sono stati davvero meravigliosi! La pulizia delle camere è migliorabile e non c'è una pulizia giornaliera, anche solo una passata veloce data la quantità di sabbia che si porta in camera sarebbe stata gradita! Il WiFi era poco funzionante, di fatto era quasi impossibile navigare ma solo mandare messaggi, ma l'ultimo piano era appena stato realizzato e credo che il segnale non fosse ancora stato potenziato.

The room was clean and very comfortable, and Ahmed’s staff were always attentive and helpful, making us feel at home from the very first moment. Ahmed went far beyond simply providing accommodation. He personally took us on a snorkeling trip where we discovered breathtaking marine life, and arranged an unforgettable excursion where we had the chance to swim with sharks and rays – a once-in-a-lifetime experience we will never forget. Zsolt Csikós (10/5): Lifetime memories with affordable costs - Beautiful small island (Mahibadhoo) with clean, white sand tourist (bikini) beach, coral gardens, all kinds of beautiful fish + rays, free sun chairs. We did not see sea urchins but sea shoes or flippers are recommended. . Sometimes we were alone on the beach, sometimes with two-three couples/families. It is good to know that there is also hospital on the island It is a fairly new, small, friendly hotel with few rooms. Our bathroom was modern with overhead rain shower and hand shower. WIFI was okay. Ahmed (the owner) promptly replied to all our questions. He booked transfer (speed)boat seats for us, We could borrow snorkelling mask and fins free of charge. He provides half day motor boat tours, e.g. to swim with nurse sharks and sting rays, to turtle point and sand bank, etc. Hassan is also very nice, helping guests, taking care of us during organised trips and making nice GoPro and DJI drone videos. As they say, and I agree, they are making lifetime memories for their guests. They have gorgeous videos on Instagram (raalhu_fonu). You can also watch (soon) my Youtube video. The hotel only serves breakfast but there is a small local restaurant (The Wave) few steps away, Nothing. Only few good-to-know information based on our experience: - Weather is not always sunny even in December. If it rains and wind makes bigger waves all day, you will probably stay in your room. There is no TV so you are depending on your books/laptop/tablet/mobile. It is worth checking weather forecast in advance. - Speed boat between Velana International Airport, Male and Mahibadhoo goes twice a day. It takes cca. 90 minutes if weather is nice. Delays can occur. - Maldives is a muslim country, so it is not allowed to be in bikini in public beaches, alcohol is not served, etc. - You can pay in local currency or in USD. Bank card payment is not always accepted on the island. Fortunately, in Raalhu Fonu Maldives hotel and in The Wave restaurant you can,.You easily find Bank of Maldives branch with ATM if you need cash, but opening hours are special.

Few more words by the property would have been nice - Don't know if It was just me catching a price drop but getting a room this close to the best side of the reef, with aircon and breakfast included, for less than 40 dollars a night was definitely good value for money. There's really nothing to complain about, but if anything, it would be the lack of communication by the property. When I arrived I was the only guest in the hotel, and given I was not taking any day trip because by my own they would have been way too expensive, I felt a bit left alone. Most of the time there was no one at the property... When I woke up I expected someone to be around to serve breakfast but there wasn't and I thought if I should have maybe helped myself With it. After I contacted the owner someone showed up and told me breakfast time was until 9. I was served breakfast anyways and it was ok, but he could have just told me before. The evening before check out the owner contacted me to tell me there was no spot left on the speed boat to Malè the upconing day. So I had basically no choice but to spend another day at the hotel. It was okay because I had 1 more day before the flight and the place is nice, but again... He could have just told me before. Speed boats being fully booked on weekends seem to be the norm so why not just telling me beforehand that they need to be booked in advance ?

We were also big fans of all the excursions they offer. We wanted to see whale sharks, mantas, dolphins, turtles, nurse sharks and explore the beautiful reefs and we were lucky enough that Mas’oodh and Hassan knew exactly where to take us to see them all. We also loved the sandbank, deserted island and sunset dinner they offer. Extra shout out to Mas’oodh for going above and beyond, not only being the loveliest guide but also to shoot videos and pictures during our excursions that we’ll cherish forever. We’re already thinking of when we could go back!
Petr (10/5): Exceptional - This is a new, modernly equipped hotel in a beautiful location... you can't use the entrance to the sea behind the huts, but it's a hundred meters to the bikini beach. The hotel owner and the guys from the staff are great, you feel at home and every word they say is true. I can't find anything that could be better...! Keep it up! ...I have nothing! Maybe just a little slower breakfast service, but I'm really messing around!

The turtle tour was excellent our guide took great drone and go pro videos for us included in the tour. Make sure to bring Euros or Dollars because if you pay the excursion in Rufiyaa they give a bad exchange fee. Many hotels do this so it’s best to bring dollars or euros.

We were made - -The wonderful staff who were so attentive and Ahmed :) -Breakfast was very yummy -Close to bikini beach -Nice excursions to see nurse sharks and turtles -Water filtration system so that we can fill up our water bottles (and avoid plastic bottles) -Lovely terrace outside on the second floor -SUP available to borrow -Clean rooms with beach towels provided Everything was so so wonderful but if I really had to share something is that if you are only two people on a trip you will have to pay more than if more people join. Again this was not a problem at all during our stay, Ahmed made sure we got to do all the excursions we wanted to do at a really good price (thank you!!).

They organize excursions, Picnic island is definitely worth going. Breakfast with 2 options: either omelet with sausage or omelet with Maldivian dish, also butter, jam and juice. By the way, the staff is friendly and they prepared the omelet for our 1-year-old child the way he wanted. You have to apply to clean the room. It can be said that there were no windows, there were 2 windows that could not even be opened, that is, the light did not enter the room.

And there is a place where you can relax and enjoy the seaview nearby. The time I spent here is comfortable and chill. Since the duration I stay is low season, the guest house offering me free tour guide for the whole island and free snorkeling plus GoPro video and photo. The boss and the staff here are really, really nice and kind.

Teejay (9/5): Wonderful hosts, lovely property well-placed to provide an experience of day-to-day Mahibhadoo life - The hospitality and homely level and service. Ahmed and his team (including Mashoodh and Wiam) went out of their way to ensure that our stay on the island was comfortable and fun. This included free snorkeling guidance and a cool excursion farther out to dive among turtles, and a snorkeling picnic at a picturesque sand bank. The property was also kept clean at all times. Not much, but the lodge is still relatively new hence inevitable growing pains that I have no doubt they will surmount and become even more exceptional over time... But this is just nitpicking, there was nothing that would stop me from staying there again in future (looking forward to it)...

Eminucer (10/5): Exceptional - First of all, I highly recommend you read it until the end. An excellent facility on a small and quiet local island full of underwater riches. As soon as you put your feet into the water at the tourist beach, you are surrounded by dozens of different species of fish, but swimming with the fish seen on Youtube is a priceless experience. Mr. Ahmad, the owner of the hotel, is a very polite and helpful person. He is very professional in making all the necessary arrangements for you when you arrive from the capital to the island, in welcoming you at the entrance and when you leave the island. If you want to participate in off-island activities, they will help you as much as they can. You have breakfast as an open buffet at the best restaurant on the island. You should definitely try the product made especially from fresh tuna. Among the 4 hotels I stayed in on 4 different islands during my Maldives trip, this was definitely the newest, cleanest and cheapest. I can guarantee that you will feel at home in this hotel. I would also like to consider that restaurants, off-island activities, and many other things on the island are cheaper than on many tourist islands. Also; Mahibadhoo may not be the best island in the Maldives, but it is a fact that there are better ones in terms of nature and tourism. But if you really want to relax in a quiet environment, this quiet and tiny island located in the natural wonder South Ari Atoll is definitely one of the best local islands you can find. Never mind that the tourist beach is smaller than some, because there are only a few people on the beach at most, so the beach is yours! I definitely recommend splitting your Maldives holiday across more than one island, as I did, and devoting at least some of it to this island and this hotel.

It helps to solve the issues related to the stay on the island - whether it is excursions, transfer or bbq from fresh fish. I definitely recommend to visit.
