- Jaishanker (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility and superb hospitality! - Clean place, welcoming and accommodative hosts, provide help and guidance to prehistoric sites on Indus River. Provided lunch and dinner in pure Ladhaki style that was delicious.
Would highly recommend this serene location by an absolutely pure glacier fed mountain stream. Enjoy the tall peaks for a perfect R&R. Nothing.
- Simar (10/5): Warm hosts, beautiful location and a comfortable stay! - We recently stayed at Domkhar Homestay, not expecting much, as we’re familiar with how homestays usually work. But to my surprise, it was more than just a place to stay. The love, warmth and excitement shown by the host and his family upon our arrival made our stay truly special.
It was heartwarming to see them cooking local food for us and sharing stories about life in these harsh terrains. The view from the room was the cherry on top—we could see mountains surrounding the house and villagers going about their day in the fields. I would definitely come back to stay here, most likely during the Apricot Blossom season, as the host mentioned that’s the best time to visit. There is nothing that I would say was not up to the mark. The linen was clean, the bathrooms and amenities were all clean and fresh and food was served in a traditional dining area. We loved it. That said, it would be nice to have some books in the room or board games in the common area.
- Vishaljeet (10/5): Exceptional - Tucked on the other side of Ladakh, away from all the hubspots, Domkhar was on our list for a while.
The homestay proved to be a perfect choice to experience the local culture and understand their way of living.
The hosts were lovely and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable and the food was good. Highly recommended to stay here if you are looking for Homestays!
- Paras (10/5): A perfect Gateway. Its very close to Lamayuru and the family is extremely warm and welcoming - The breakfast was locally made and i think the vegetables were sourced from their green house. Very fresh and tasty They were too nice
- Giulia (10/5): A great experience to get to know ladakhi culture! - We had the chance to interact with the hosting family and it was great!
