- Alina (10/5): - I really enjoyed to stay at the Takapuna Guest House. It has everything you need and it's very cozy, you'll feel immediatly at home. Karla is a very nice host and always there if you need something. The location was also perfect, supermarket and beach are only a few minutes away. I'll be happy to come back.
- Chris (7/5): Location - Great location close to Takapuna, though be aware it is right on Lake Road so there will be road noise. Greater attention to cleanliness required... Although the place was well presented, we didn't feel like it had a proper clean for some time; e.g. stains on cushions and the back of roller blind clearly hadn't been cleaned in some time.
- Yeats (8/5): Lovely and clean. Host was quick to answer questions and was very welcoming in her communications. - Vicinity, privacy.
Easy access to Auckland city from Takapuna via ferry or car. No laundry facilities or iron available but there is a laundromat down the road.
Quite a step up into the bathroom that might make it difficult for those with mobility issues- not a concern for me but good to be aware of.
- Sue (7/5): - The close parking, private access and quick response from the owner. The accommodation was called a 'guest house' but was just one suite attached to a house.
- Catherine (9/5): Tidy, warm and modern with a convenient location and outside parking. - Handy to the location I needed to travel to over two days - limited morning traffic. Parking could be tricky on road, as near a corner, but I managed to have parking right outside the whole time. Safe, secure and warm. The hosts in home next door were very accommodating and friendly. I would consider staying again if I needed to be in that location again.
- Kim (9/5): Great stay, at Takapuna Guest House, loved the sunny, comfortable guest suite. - We liked the privacy, great facilities, spacious unit that was well equipped. We also liked the location close to the beach, and the secure setting. It was excellent that we could also bring out small dog with us. The only thing we would change is the bed and pillows as we found it small and uncomfortable.
- Jack (10/5): - Clean, comfy, easy to get to, great communication N/A

- Mark (9/5): A nice place to stay to go to the beach and to visit Auckland, too. - We were very pleased with the accommodation and the location; we wish we had the time to stay there a few more days, actually. Nothing, really.

- Dean (7/5): - Location and cleanliness were good but main road next door made it quite noisy especially at night. Also no intro letter or normal tea bags. Otherwise pretty good base for North Shore
- Priscila (9/5): The cosiest little beach house at Takapuna - I was really in need of a whole place close to the beach to rest and this place welcomed me with open arms.
First I was totally in love with all the decoration and the details of the little place. The bed is really comfortable and warm, with really nice sheets and a heating system that is nice to turn on a little before going to bed. It saved me in cold winter days! Also a nice tv with lots of options that was good for a heavy rain day, just to stay in and chill. The bathroom has a really nice shower, and the kitchen has everything you need to make some nice meals, I’ve stayed almost a week and was so nice to cook to myself after one month traveling. The market is pretty close. Actually, everything you need is pretty close.
Also, Takapuna beach is just a short distance walk, and I’ve had beautiful views over there, with sunsets, moon rising and even rainbows.
If you walk a little further you’ll arrive at Takapuna center, where you find some really nice shops, cafes, restaurants, vintage shops, a nice book store, and so on. Became totally enchanted by this part of the town and definitely need to come back to try more cafes and restaurants.
Karla was really kind and I felt save being close to her home. Loved it. As it is close to mais road, in the pick traffic times can be a little noisy (also I was unfortunate to have a construction close by) - but nothing that some music didn’t help (and I didn’t even needed speakers, just let on my phone). And was not the whole day, so for me was not a big disturbing. At the sleeping times I felt really quiet and slept really well during my whole stay.
- Cikoratic (8/5): Very good -
- Nesia (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely, clean little gem of a house. Nice secure outside space for our puppy too. Great communication thank you Karla.
- Sylvia (9/5): Very cute, cosy, clean place, great location, and dog allowed which was great. - Great location, very cute place, had everything we needed, were lucky enough to be able to bring our dog, clean and cosy.
- Jason (10/5): The place itself feels like a warm welcoming home - I had an absolutely fantastic stay at Karla’s Airbnb! Karla is an amazing host truly one of the best I’ve encountered.
She went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed, sharing insider tips about the best cafes, restaurants, and shops in the area. The location is unbeatable, right next to Takapuna Beach, which made my trip even more special.
The place itself feels like a warm, welcoming home I loved every moment of it. Karla’s thoughtfulness and hospitality made this an unforgettable experience.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a perfect getaway!
- Stacey (9/5): Great stay, great location! - Great stay, very tidy and close to the beach! Karla was very kind and friendly. Definitely recommend!

- Ari (10/5): Great place, highly recommend! -
- Peter (5/5): Great location but all of the above - Location was great No Off street parking after phoning to confirm that they did have it.
Very noisy location corner of Lake road and Bayview road. One of the busiest roads in Auckland.
We could not connect to NZTV not sure why.
- Alana (9/5): Everything you need for a short stay and lovely private terrace area. - Clean and tidy lots of small touches.
- Susan (10/5): Great stay - Very accommodating and comfortable would recommend to anyone 👌

- Susan (8/5): Karla was very friendly, welcoming of our large dog, and was available for any problems. -
- Carole (8/5): Short, comfy stay - The accommodation was really affordable and so neat and tidy. Everything you need and more for a comfortable stay. Being on a main road, it was a little noisy.
