Guest Reviews
- Dom (7/5): -
- Theodore (4/5): Poor - Bed was terrible
Had a hole in middle
- Li (9/5): Very comfortable and clean! - Great service and the room was very comfortable! The breakfast buffet was very good!
- Charles (9/5): Overall excellent - Excellent staff. Front desk very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. An elevator my wife post surgery had trouble with stairs
- Linda (6/5): - Good breakfast and nice facility overall Price too high and window blind was broken so very bright in the room at night
- Harvey (5/5): Did not stay here that night due to the staff being unfamiliar with Klarna - Check was friendly but could not run my card through klarna the clerk said they did not accept Klarna so unfortunately the room was canceled and I had to go to another hotel that night. The hotel staff did not know how to check in someone using Klarna through Booking.com
- Kevin (9/5): Nice place- would stay there again. - Breakfast was great- everything was newly remodeled- very clean. They didn’t accept cash for payment- we thought that was odd. But maybe that is standard procedure.
- Allbee (7/5): -
- Brandi (7/5): -
- Nelita (10/5): We had a wonderful stay. - The property is very clean. No elevator.
- Bernice (9/5): -
- Debra (8/5): All in all our stay was good - Breakfast was good The bed was very uncomfortable
- Evan (10/5): - Hotel was great rooms were clean. Breakfast was really good. Everything went great until we wanted to check out. We were staying at the hotel for a business trip. Our agency requires to get a printed receipt. We did book the hotel on Booking.com so i understand they do give a receipt, but our agency needed one from Ramkota. The gentleman that helped us was very rude and did not want to print us one saying he is not allowed too. He eventually did and took him 30 seconds to do it. The stay was great until we had to get a printed Receipt.
- Stephen (10/5): Would stay again - Bed was too soft for my liking
- Jason (8/5): -
- Kayla (8/5): - I was rather impressed by the remodel and upgrading of the rooms. The housekeeper I encountered was less than friendly and rather rude. Only 2 towels in the room and no restocking for a 2 night stay.
- Curt (5/5): Looks impressive online but doesn't deliver in person. - Breakfast was really great with lots of good options. Room decor was pleasing - netural colors. Pool area was warm and hot tube was really hot. Exterior looks like a cement bunker - inside is much better but not a great first impression.
Check in staff wasn't very friendly or helpful.
Phone in room didn't work. Shower not clean around edges..
Pool area is half the size it appears in pictures.
Poolside room: no exterior windows, opens only to very hot pool area. Room was roasting in Jan, had to run AC to sleep at night.
An amenity fee of $20 was added at checkout that I was unaware would be added.
Pool towels are more like hand towels - small, thin, scratchy.
Near a railroad track.
Paid $250 for a room I would say was worth $100.

- Louann (9/5): It was a very good stay in a nice hotel with kind and friendly staff. - We did not eat breakfast at the hotel. The staff was very helpful and kind. The event we attended at the Ramkota was very nice and we will stay there again if we need to stay in Pierre.

- Zachary (8/5): Decent stay, a bit expensive for what you get. - Pool and hot tub. 2nd year in a row people have their dogs in the pool area. Very pricey. Paid for a pool side room and expected it to be right at the pool, not down the hall from it. No breakfast included.
- Jeffrey (9/5): Very nice and just keep doing what you’re doing - Next door to our favorite Italian Restaurant Really can’t say
- Trudy (10/5): -
- Roger (8/5): -
- Priscila (9/5): Comfortable place to stay , good bar restaurants! - Like the updates with new furniture etc
Needs nightstands both sides of the beds though but we made it work with the family The breakfast not great but it is okay
Coffee needs to improve
- Donna (10/5): -
- Priscila (9/5): Pleasant comfortable - The facilities looks much better than last time we were there
Definitely we saw good upgrades Still some more remodeling to be done the bedroom needs a nightstand on the side of the beds
Had to put stuff on the floor
But we liked the new bed new fresh remodeling of the room

- Tammy (7/5): Good -
- Martha (5/5): Passable -
- Esslinger (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (6/5): OK hotel in a lovely little city but needs attention to detail and are welcoming reception staff - The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was better than the average for this range of hotel. We really enjoyed Pierre. The reception staff weren't particularly welcoming, the bathroom was tiny and there was no toilet paper, we had to go and ask for some. No elevator for upstairs room.
- Maryann (8/5): Very good - Nice updated rooms My coffee maker didn't work
- Mariah (5/5): Passable - The front desk crew was great. There was dried blood on the bathroom counter. There was a lot of hair all over the shower. The maid was knocking on the door an hour prior to checkout to see if i was gone already. She then chased me down as I was walking down the hallway to see which room I was in. The bartender was so rude that we decided to go eat elsewhere.
- Jay (8/5): Very good - Not enough towels
- Tasha (10/5): Exceptional - Pool and nice rooms Nothing
- Rhonda (10/5): Exceptional - The bar and band Don't get enough towels
- Arden (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lundeen (2/5): Very poor -
- Sue (5/5): It was ok just did not like to find out that I got charged 15 dollars on each room and no one could tell me why -
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Teresa (9/5): Superb -
- Bo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Halana (7/5): Good -
- Leon (10/5): Friendly staff and clean facility - Rooms were clean Can’t think of anything
- Bob (1/5): I would not have stayed but no other choices were available in town due to several different events taking place this we - Location!!!! The room was filthy!!! The blinds covering the sliding door to the pool were all but falling on the floor and couldn’t use. I had to jerry rig it just to close them! There was a ball of hair on the floor and a bottle of fingernail polish remover laying on the floor next to a chair and still sheet rock dust on floors and mop boards from when door stops were installed!!! In my opinion I don’t think this room had been cleaned since it was remodeled and I sure as hell know it hadn’t been vacuumed or floors mopped since the last time it was rented!!!! I have stayed at the property before and it was always immaculate then! The Ramkota was always the shining star of Pierre but not anymore!!!!!
- Heather (8/5): Very good -
- Susan (1/5): This was not the Christmas Holiday I wanted to provide to my family. - N/A The motel was a mess. Construction, dust, pool closed. Outside doors were not secured.
- Susan (1/5): Horrible, not what I expected. - The construction was not expected to the Pool was not open. It was extremely noisy. We had to move around the construction to get out of the building. The doors were not locked.
- April (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (10/5): We had a great stay and will be back over and over again - Everything! This place exceeds expectations. The staff was excellent, the room was perfection, the bed and pillows we live for!
- Melissa (5/5): Passable - Staff was friendly, good location, lots of space in rooms which were updated. Lots of construction going on, lots of messes. Our tile in our bathroom was very sticky to walk across and like a waxy feeling. No hot water in morning at 6 am.
- Kevin (8/5): Overall good experience - New rooms were great Older rooms showing their age
- Amanda (10/5): Go visit and stay at the Ramkota in Pierre, SD! - The front desk worker was kind and shared that the facility did what they could to keep the two rooms I reserved near each other and they did. 🫶🏻 The continental breakfast was amazing and the staff were so kind to my children which made me know they were safe. Thank you thank you 🙏
- Chuck (9/5): Ok - Comfortable beds 2nd floor, requested 1st floor with an outside entrance and was told it was available. Received a notice 24 he’s later stating it actually wasn't available 🤔
- Fred (7/5): Good -
- Bruce (4/5): Disappointing - Old mattresses were piled outside our door
- Ronald (1/5): Kind of a scam. We had a strict budget and the hotel charged us $60 more than Booking.com told us. They said it was for - Our whole wing was under construction which wasn’t disclosed at all! The pool needs updated BAD. The room was dusty and the carpet was wet in some spots. The other half of our family had to move rooms THREE times because of construction. The first two rooms were full of wasps and dead bugs.
We took our family downstairs for breakfast and it took about 50 minutes to get our orders. Most of them were incorrect, and all of them were cold.
- Trisha (8/5): Very good -
- R. (9/5): Superb -
- Steven (2/5): Very poor - Room was fine. Pool was great Restaurant was terrible. I can’t tell you how the food was because I didn’t receive any ! I think waiting over an hour when they are not busy is excessive.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Nathan (8/5): Very good -
- Deanne (6/5): Meh - Rambling hallways?? Hard to find the way around. The laundry was free but finding it was beyond a challenge. No free breakfast…. Such a disappointment for that price point.
- Lela (10/5): The gentleman that checked us in was amazing. He was friendly, efficient and had a good recommendation for dinner. - It was clean and comfortable. The staff was outstanding! Nothing
- Cheryl (6/5): I have stayed here before and coffee was always available, this time there was no coffee. - Swimming pool Some people were bothering me for money, this couple told a sad story and asked for money, they were in the parking lot watching guest.
- Peter (9/5): Superb - Nice location and very quiet.
- Sara (5/5): Passable - The staff at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms need updates really bad.
- Dustin (3/5): Poor -
- Frank (8/5): Very good -
- Jessica (2/5): I won’t be staying there again - I liked the location, some of the staff We got absolutely no room service, we had no clean towels or emptied garbage or anything!!
- Kenneth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anita (9/5): It was a good stay because my granddaughter loved that we were right across from the pool. - I didn’t eat breakfast there because I thought it was too expensive. Our room request for ground floor was honored, so I appreciated that because I use an oxygen concentrator at night which weighs 40 pounds. I’d have liked to made coffee in the room , but basket was missing. At check in, the clerk explained that the $30 deposit for each night to pay for incidentals would be refunded when I checked out. That’s not true. Gentleman who checked me out said it could be 24 hours or longer before the refund is showing up.
- Theresa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brandon (10/5): Nice place to call home for the night newly finished rooms - Had a bar and restaurant attached to property
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shawn (7/5): The hotel was good for the price. - Conveniently located, reasonably priced The room had an odd odor, possibly from the cleaning supplies??
- Laurie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jackie (4/5): Disappointed with staff and housekeeping. - Did not have breakfast at this hotel Booking.com provided a charge for two days at a rate of $296.34. We checked out and our invoice showed day 1 $125.10 plus other charges. Day 2 $143.10 plus other charges. Total $306.42. This hotel charges a resort fee, tourism tax, lodging taxes for each day. Don't stay here.
- Michael (8/5): Very good - It was conveniently situated to eateries and the river walk The rooms are very difficult to find and there is no lift.
It stated online that breakfast was included in the room rate when in fact we were told on the morning of our departure that it wasn’t. We were offered an insulting 3 dollars between us towards the cost of purchasing our own breakfast-needless to stay we found a suitable alternative outside the hotel.
- Koehler (4/5): Ok. Needs a bit of updating. - Lose the dilapidated couch in room 2125. It should be at the curb with a sign "free".
- Ashlee (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bryan (7/5): Good -
- Dennis (8/5): Very good - Staff you friendly and helpful. In the morning the Cleaning staff were very happy and helpful There is no Handicap parking in the backside of the building.
