• Florine B. (7/5): Prettig verblijf, maar slechte prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. - We hebben 10 dagen verbleven op dit resort, met kinderen van 3 en 6 jaar. Het resort is groot en de huizen ogen prachtig. Veel huisjes zijn particulier bezit, waardoor de huisjes onderling verschillen. Wij hadden een townhouse met zwembad geboekt met drie slaapkamers en verbleven er in mei 2026. Grote voordelen aan het verblijf: het huis is heel erg ruim en ook schoon. Er wordt elke dag schoongemaakt (als je wil) en ook het park is prachtig onderhouden. Wij vonden het verwarmde zwembad een feest, ook voor de kinderen. Ook het restaurant bij het zwembad is heerlijk, ze bedienen je graag op je ligbedje. De prijzen vonden wij vergelijkbaar met andere toeristische horeca. De staff is - vrijwel overal - zo ontzettend aardig en vrolijk en willen je graag overal bij helpen. Er is één speeltuintje in het park, leuk voor kinderen tot de leeftijd van ongeveer 6 jaar. Het park ligt middenin Quinta del Lago, wat een soort gated golfdorpje is. Het park ligt ten midden van een aantal grote banen. Voordat je echt op de 'openbare' weg bent, is het ongeveer tien minuten rijden. Er is een strand op ongeveer 5 minuten rijden. Het strand vonden we niet bijzonder (er zijn veel mooiere stranden in de omgeving) maar er loopt wel een mooie boardwalk/wandeling langs. Wij vonden het geen luxe resort, hoewel Martinhal dat wel belooft. Hoewel het park mooi en groot is opgezet, vonden we het huis zelf best wel gedateerd (wel heel schoon) en achterstallig qua onderhoud. De bedden waren redelijk, maar ook duidelijk al versleten. Omdat ieder huisje anders is qua afwerkingsniveau, weet je van te voren ook niet goed wat je kunt verwachten. Bij ons was de buitenruimte bijvoorbeeld heel erg oud en vervallen (met een klein, koud zwembad) terwijl er ook huisjes zijn die een hele mooie buitenruimte hebben. De binnenruimte was prima, maar niet zo luxe als wat je voor 300 euro per nacht in het middenseizoen zou verwachten. Ook de voorzieningen voor de kinderen zijn heel beperkt. Er is een kidsclub (Engelstalig) waar je je kinderen tegen betaling kunt laten spelen. Verder is er dus alleen één speeltuintje en een klein glijbaantje bij het zwembad. Ook de gepromote 'spelletjeskamer' valt tegen. De kinderen hebben zich gelukkig goed vermaakt met het zwembad, maar hadden verder weinig te zoeken op het park. En dat is jammer, want daar hebben we het wel voor geboekt. We hebben een prima verblijf gehad, maar komen niet terug. Voor deze bedragen zijn er betere accomodaties te vinden.

• Maeve (2/5): Grim - Very little, It’s an over-built estate with zero privacy between the properties. The property we rented has clearly had no investment for years, is tired and the filth in the tile grouting was frankly, disgusting. We literally went back to property to sleep and got out for all other times we were there. Not good enough Martinhal. Our villa was filthy, The housekeepers did the best they could but this property has been over-rented with no renovations. Master en-suite was so grim, I felt dirty after a shower so took all other showers at my gym. I took photos to demonstrate. Kitchen is falling apart and was cheap in the first place. Dining table scratched and dirty.

• Jill C (5/5): We had a lovely family holiday, notwithstanding the faults already mentioned. - Very spacious. Living areas were very comfortable. Spacious bedrooms and very comfortable beds. Great wardrobe space and lots of clothes hangers. The housekeeping team were first class. Anything we requested was dealt with straight away. Fabulous towels for the villa and pool. Five stars! The bathrooms were very old - shower screen not fit for purpose- constantly leaking. The shower tap was coming off the wall. All bathrooms need updating. Lovely garden and excellent sun beds but like the bathrooms the pool needed refurbishment. So many tiles missing - it’s beginning to look very worn. Again in desperate need of modernisation. The concrete beams over the parking area were crumbling. In fact we had a fall of concrete, which fortunately, just missed hitting our hire car! We reported this to the Reception Office, but to the best of our knowledge, no-one from the Maintenance Department paid a visit and three weeks later, it was exactly in the same condition when we left. Unfortunately this happens when a property is not maintained. We did not take photos but suggest that someone on site visits Villa 79 to verify our comments. Also, there was a broken sunbed dumped on the balcony of the Master Bedroom. We have a provisional booking for next year, but would hope to stay in a Superior Villa, which we were given to believe 79 was.

• belinda (8/5): We have visited quinta do lago for over 20 years and usually stayed at four seasons country club It waa really nice to - We really liked the open plan downstairs and the small garden area was very pleasant. We liked the white ( Scandinavian vibe ) interior The place was bright and airy and had a very inviting feel I liked the fact that we could have the air conditioning on in the bedroom. We didn’t like the bathrooms. Felt they were tired and the shower within the bath was a little hazardous given my husband recently had a knee replacement. Our daughters who slept in the two single beds said that the beds were not comfortable and they did not sleep very well.

• Sean (9/5): Perfect family resort - The resort feels very private and homely. It’s quiet and safe for kids and the pool and restaurant facility are excellent. The staff are also very good, especially at the pool. The houses are very spacious. Maybe a little dated but still excellent. The resort does lack some entertainment for kids in the evening. Everything is closed up by 8pm. You’ll need a car. The resort is tucked away in Quinta but is a great hub to explore the local areas.

• Tony (7/5): Good location for golfers - The Martinhal;l resort is fine if you're a golfer and want a base to explore the local golf courses. It just didn't work as well for us. The villa (35) was a little cold (ask for a south-facing villa: the other two villas occupied by our party were better) and the beds just didn't suit us. On the other hand, the villa was well-equipped, had good internet access, and nice bathrooms. Not much, but we had a coeliac with us and the folks at the pool twice attempted to serve her with non-GF food. They know about gluten free and some of the staff there are more aware than others. Be careful!
• Lucy (9/5): A beautiful resort, we will return! - Our 2 bedroom townhouse was beautiful, traditional decor but very clean and comfortable. Parts of it had been newly renovated. Air con in living area and bedrooms. En-suites in both bedrooms and WC downstairs was a great addition. Stair gates installed so very family friendly. I requested an extra cot, cot sides and a high chair which were all in our villa when we arrived. Plunge pool was a great addition, but unfortunately it was not heated which limited its use. The main pool with bar and restaurant was great and within walking distance for all villas. The restaurant delivers to your villa and is very quick service and the food and cocktails were delicious. The kids club is great, our nearly 3 yr old went for 3 mornings and absolutely loved it, she was asking to go every day. Any staff we encountered at the resort were fantastic, in particular the bar/restaurant staff and the kids club staff. It is a quiet resort, we hired a car which gave us the freedom to travel to other areas and other parts of Quinta with ease. I would advise the hiring of a car if you wanted to get around to see other areas as anything outside of the resort is quite far away. We will return for sure! The plunge pool wasn’t heated. Some of the fly screens were old and not fit for purpose.
• Michelle (8/5): Lovely stay but some improvement needed to match the quality of its sister resorts. - The resort itself is well located and close to Faro airport. The staff were absolutely wonderful and couldn't be more helpful. Accommodation was spacious, and well maintained, though could do with a little updating. We had previously been in the Sagres resort last September and it is hard to not compare the resorts. There wasn't as much evening entertainment for children as Sagres and the playpark was a little tired. The bar/ restaurant and market on site closed very early in my view.

• Lisa (5/5): The good and bad - 1.Really friendly and helpful staff. 2.Pool area was nice, as was the indoor pool, especially with having a 4 month old. 3.Great services for renting baby equipment that was very much appreciated (cots, high chairs, bouncers, door stops, baby monitor, etc. 4.Well equipped houses with kitchen items and child friendly (stair gates, safety femcing in front of pool, etc.) 5. Townhouses are spacious with great wardrobes and storage areas. Overall good cleanliness except for ants. 1.We chose this resort as we have a 4 month old and an 18 month old so wanted a town house with it's own pool for handiness. Unfortunately, on day 3, the small garden area around the pool was dug up, and grass reseeded (fertilising pellets put all over the new seeds). This made the small garden and pool area unusable for us. To be fair, when I did explain how disappointing this was during our stay, we were told there may be a possibility of moving to another house (but the thoughts of packing up the house and 2 babies again after just getting them settled on our first family holiday wasn't appealing). They also offered to lay fake grass over the area for the duration of our stay however I didn't feel I could fully trust this with a baby and active toddler so we used the main pool for the rest of the stay instead. 2.Our 2 babies stayed in our room with us in their cots so we weren't really using the second bedroom however one night, my little boy was unsettled so I brought him into the second room (in his cot) and when i pulled back the blankets the bed had 10 to 15 ants crawling in it. Lots of ants in bathrooms too but thankfully none visible in the main bedroom bed. I did explain this to the maid service but the situation didn't improve and a couple of nights I had to bring the travel cot downstairs and sleep on the couch myself. 3. Found the fresh food very limited in the shop, very little selection of fruit and veg and most old and wilted. Asked if there would be fresher produce during the week and told no but was directed to another store less than 1km away that had a slightly better selection.

The kids club with Lilia was so good the children asked to return. The villa was clean and a lovely place to stay with children. The worst part was leaving to come home, we had no other dislikes!

Big screen to with Netflix Apple Amazon Prime. Shower didn’t drain well so water came quite a long way into the bedroom.

The standard of accommodation was not good - our townhouse was very dated and tired. We moved out after a week and stayed elsewhere as it was not what we were expecting. Pictures show a range of accommodation so difficult to know what you’re getting.

Villa has stair gates, pool gates and you can request cot, high chair etc. Really well set up for kids with an excellent kids club, heated communal pool with slides, trampoline and very nice restaurant for lunch (which you can also take away from). Car needed to get around. Villa is a little run down but has everything you need.

• Karen (4/5): Disappointed - The area of Quinta Do Lago have been several times but first stay in Martinhal Quinta No activities for children compared to Martinhal Sagres. We'd 2 bed villa with pool, our pool was freezing, the apartment was invested with ants, they were in the bedroom and even in fridge, moved to another villa after complaining. It is in need of an upgrade very dated, pool food over priced and accommodation not value for money, onsite supermarket way over priced €12 for standard multi pack of CapriSun.

Our villa was very dated, bathrooms need refurbing (mold on tiles), as does pool and furniture updating.....just needs attention in general...air cons need replacing and some damp patches in lounge (outside area needs refreshing too), microwave old and not working.i see some neighbouring properties have been updated, we obviously weren't lucky enough to get one of these....so beware of which one you get as on booking.com the pics are all different. We had no 33........

• Lisanne (7/5): Nice resort but overpriced. Unfortunately wouldn’t stay there again. - Great communal pool, nice restaurant and pool side service, staff very good there. Very well kept resort. Villa cleaned daily. Villa pool was small in a small garden and very high wall at rear which made it feel a bit claustrophobic. Small kitchen. Leather couch in living area not very comfortable. Noisy air to heat pump outside bedroom on balcony kept us awake at night. Not worth the money charged in July (E10k+). On site grocery shop very expensive and no supermarket in walking distance. Gym was very small. Photos of villa on booking.com is not what you get on arrival.

• Derek (7/5): I was disappointed the layout was not as advertised and the front desk staffs English was not great which made the check - Great location and plenty of space It was advertised as 1 double bedroom and 3 bedrooms with 2 singles in each and it wasn’t so it meant we had to put 2 singles beds in the TV area to make the layout work. We also requested an additional single bed which wasn’t there on arrival and a number of bathrooms had no towels
