Guest Reviews
- Abdulla (10/5): - A perfect mountain retreat -- warm hosts, stunning views, and a breakfast to remember
We stayed in the Mountain View Room with two large double beds, a group of four friends, during our time in Haputale -- and it was genuinely one of the highlights of our entire trip.
The room was spacious and comfortable, easily accommodating all four of us without feeling cramped. Waking up to misty mountain views every morning never got old. The beds were large and very comfortable, and the room was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay.
What truly set this property apart was Sameera. From the moment we arrived, he went out of his way to make us feel at home. Whether it was recommending the best viewpoints nearby, helping us plan our day trips around the hill country, or simply checking in to make sure we had everything we needed -- his warmth and genuine hospitality made a real difference. It is rare to encounter someone so naturally welcoming and attentive.
Breakfast was included and started with tea brought right to our room -- a lovely touch. The meal itself was entirely local and freshly prepared, and absolutely delicious.
The location is ideal for anyone wanting to experience the misty beauty of Sri Lanka's hill country. Haputale itself is a gem, and Adidham Village puts you right in the heart of it.
We would not hesitate to return, and would recommend this property to any traveler looking for comfort, character, and genuine Sri Lankan hospitality.
- DMunasinghe (10/5): - Very friendly and welcoming service throughout our stay. The location offers a beautiful. Breakfast was well served and satisfying. Overall, a pleasant stay.
- Henrike (10/5): A must do when you want to travel the inland of Sri Lanka - The homestay is located a bit away from the city centre but that didn’t matter at all. Whenever I wanted to go anywhere, the owner would drop me and pick me up so I never had to worry about transport or getting scammed. If you want to experience local life or just see hidden gems this is the place to go. The owner takes the time to show you everything you want, that is if you’re open for that - he is never pushy, so you could easily do your own thing. But I really recommend to ask him about all the places you want to see and how you should plan your route, he will arrange everything for you and make your stay unforgettable. As the entire family grew up in this area they have a lot of connections and know their way around. So basically whatever you want to do or see, they will take care of it for you, which is incredibly nice. So much better than staying in Ella in my opinion, you still get to see all the sights if you want to, but it’s much cheaper in Haputale and more authentic too. Totally recommend
- Jens (10/5): - Lovely room, location was beautiful with lush mountain views and the family that reside the home are such lovely people.
Breakfast was amazing as well - we highly recommend the sri lankan breakfast.
We had such a great stay here. Highly recommended. Nothing.
- Dominic (10/5): Beautiful setting, great people. - Sameera and his family were fantastic hosts. If you get a chance to stay here, I highly recommend the room on the top floor, with its abundance of natural light and amazing views off of the huge balcony. The big heavy blankets were so nice to have up in that cold climate. The Room was well appointed, clean and comfortable, with its own little hot water heater, and coffee set up. The breakfast was excellent, and full of fresh fruit. I was the only guest staying there at the time, and Sameera hung out with me while I ate breakfast, and I was glad for the company. These are great people, maintaining a great accommodation and a great location. I love that it is away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Haputale, and very peaceful and quiet, with nothing to hear, but frogs, wind, rain, and birds. If I return to Haputale, I will definitely be staying with them again.
Ras
- Yasintha (10/5): It exceeded my expectations and the view is spectacular ✨ - One of the best homestays I've ever had. The view is amazing and breathtaking. If you're looking for a mountain view, this is the place. The owner, and his family is very friendly and helpful and they welcomed us warmly. We were planning to go horton plains next day and they adviced us to go early in the morning to see animals and they made us bed tea at 4.30 am and packed us lunch to leave at 5-5.30 am. The rooms were spacious and clean. Hot water was working fine, satellite tv was there with lots of channels. The beds were clean and comfy. Very much worth the price. And when we were about to go to adisham bungalow , they personally talked and checked the closing hours and whether we can go or not at that time (4pm). We went there for my mom's birthday and she loved it. A huge thanks to the owner and his family. A highly recommended place in haputale area for a family or a group of friends. The parking and the home is located at a elevated place, and had to climb a very steep hill but we could go there by a somewhat low and long wheel based car with 4 people in it. Nothing to mention
- Sergey (10/5): Рекомендую ! - Очень доброжелательные хозяева. Дали мне скутер съездить в город. Номер больший, чем я бронировал, так как он свободен был. В 3 км от Хапутале, зато рядом монастырь-музей есть
- Nicole (9/5): Homestay like a family member.
- Sanjaya (10/5): Hospitality - We had an excellent stay at Adisham Village Home, Haputale. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, and the food was absolutely delicious. The mountain-view room is a highlight — truly breathtaking! All the facilities were great. Mr. Sameera is an exceptional host; he’s very helpful with tour arrangements and time management. We really recommend this place to anyone visiting Haputale. Nothing to say
- Abdulla (10/5): - I had a great stay at Adisham Village Home. The views from the rooms are stunning, with a beautiful mountain backdrop. The property is very clean and well maintained. The room had a kettle and hot water, which made the stay even more comfortable.
There is also a washing machine available for guests to use free of charge, a kitchen with utensils, and a sitting room with games and activities that guests can share and enjoy.
It is a great location for those who want to do the Pekoe Trail. The railway station is not far and can be reached easily by walking or by bus in about five minutes.
Mr. Sameera, the host, was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Haputale. Everything at the facility was great.

- Chathuranga (10/5): Comfortable room - I stayed at Adisham Village Home in Haputale and had the best homestay experience ever! The Adisham family was so kind and welcoming. The food was delicious, the view was absolutely breathtaking, and the room was super comfortable with hot water and fast Wi-Fi. Everything was perfect — peaceful place, great people, and amazing hospitality. Highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a relaxing stay in Haputale! 🌿✨ Nothing.....
- Haputale (10/5): Wonderful stay at a fantastic place - The genuine hospitality and friendliness of the host family. I usually stay in hotels and this was a very different, nice experience. Meal prices were surprisingly low and the lady of the house who cooked for us was flexible enough to provide our requested choice of meats which is rare in local homes who normally provide only chicken and fish. We stayed two days here .we had more information and a popular tourist destination arrived. Mr sameera is the best person we met .he told us about the tour plan. He is also doing a hidden nature tour haputale and we travel with him. He is a very knowledgeable and very good local guide . The room was very clean and I think the best view in Haputale is here. Night time breathtaking views and the most beautiful seanary is the train moving . You can see the main city in front of the room. Service and hospitality is best here.. I really recommend it here . Try to visit again. I hope to stay in another beautiful room ( still not built) Nothing
- Daniela (10/5): Quiet family accomodation with great food and wonderful - We stayed at Adisham village home for 2 nights and were made very welcome by Samire and his lovely family. We were the first to stay in the newest family room and it was beautiful. Very spacious with our own dining table where our breakfast and dinner was served. The view from the balcony was spectacular and the place is away from the road so very quiet. Samire was happy to help us with any of our requests. We also used the services of their taxi with Mr Ajith who was a very kind and knowledgeable guide for our tour to Liptons seat. Highly recommended!
