• Ruth (10/5): - Amka House is in a wonderful location, not directly to the beach but very close. From our terrace, we could see the sea and feel the breeze. The room was large, clean and very nicely furnished. Isai and his team are very friendly and helpful, so we had a wonderful time and wish to come again!

• Rosanne (8/5): Schoon, paradijselijk en heel vriendelijk personeel - Super vriendelijk personeel. Je loopt door een smal paadje zo het strand op. Het was laagseizoen en ik kreeg zomaar een upgrade naar een betere kamer op de bovenverdieping. Mijn kamer werd iedere dag met zorg schoongemaakt. Er is een groot terras met zitjes per kamer. Hier wordt 's ochtends het ontbijt geserveerd: vers fruit, sap, pannekoeken en eieren gebakken naar wens. En natuurlijk de gebruikelijke Africafe oploskoffie Ik wilde extra vroeg ontbijten, om 6.00. Ja, gaat lukken. Uiteindelijk kwam het met excuses om 6.45. Maar ja, Hakuna Matata, pole pole. Op Zanzibar is er regelmatig stroomuitval in de avond. De eerste avond hadden we stroom door de generator, de tweede avond deed deze het niet. Maar de stroom komt rond 22.00/23.00 altijd weer terug.

Eigentlich nur das männliche Personal, er war sehr freundlich und war immer bemüht mir mit allem zu helfen! Die Bettlaken hatten Flecken, die Steckdosen hatten kein Strom und die weiblichen Angestellten waren sage ich es mal so, nicht sehr freundlich!
• Sandra (1/5): - rien du tout j'ai pris un autre hotel pour vous dire je n'ai pas dormi a l'hôtel, j'ai visité mes chambres et ce n'était pas du tout ressemblant au photo il n'y a pas la climatisation vous avez un simple ventilo, la chambre de mes parents était a coté d'un groupe électrique qui faisait un bruit de tracteur, moi ma chambre avec terrasse était une terrasse passante les gens se posaient sur la terrasse avec de la musique entrain de fumer. je suis donc allez dans un autre hôtel qui m'a couté 200€ de plus mais qui était correct avec une vrai clime et dans le calme et ils mont quand même encaissé la somme d'argent c'est honteux.
• Valérie (10/5): - Allez-y ! Cet établissement charmant et très bien tenu par des locaux qui parlent anglais est une jolie et grande maison bien rénovée, située à 40 mètres de la plage. Il y a des chambres à l’étage et au rez-de-chaussée. Toutes sont pourvues de très jolis lits, de climatiseurs et de ventilateurs. J’ai séjourné dans la grande chambre spacieuse, très agréable et confortable donnant sur la jolie petite cour. La chambre de l’ami qui m’accompagnait était beaucoup plus petite mais tout aussi bien équipée. L’établissement dispose d’une machine à laver et le personnel est très gentil avec les hôtes. La propreté est irréprochable. Le petit déjeuner est servi dans un petit café situé à 50 mètres. Vous êtes à la fois dans l’univers de la plage et dans celui du village, où il fait bon se promener, même le soir, en toute sécurité. Allez vous restaurer "Chez Hassan" une excellente adresse, tant pour les prix que pour la cuisine. Il est facile depuis Jambiani d’aller au parc Jozani, visiter des fermes d’algues, la grotte de Kuza ou d’aller voir les dauphins à Kizimkazi.

Właścicielem jest wspaniały człowiek, który pomoże, doradzi, podpowie, zorganizuje co trzeba, rozwiąże problem, albo usiądzie żeby po prostu chwilę miło porozmawiać. Czułam się tam swobodnie i bezpiecznie jak we własnym domu, ugoszczona i zaopiekowana. Polecam z serca wszystkim, którzy chcą poczuć prawdziwy klimat Zanzibaru i wspaniałego Jambiani 💓🌴☀️

• Ale_BL (9/5): 5 notti a Jambiani, la vera Zanzibar - L'appartamento e bagno spaziosi e molto puliti. Bellissimo il terrazzo esterno con vista sull'oceano. L'appartamento veniva pulito quotidianamente e anche gli asciugamani venivano sostituiti tutti i giorni. Ottima la colazione servita nel vicino ristorante Lustiana (ad 1 minuto a piedi dalla Guest House). Sempre nel giro di 1 minuto si raggiunge la spiaggia di Jambiani. Nelle vicinanze ci sono ottimi ristoranti e nel lungo mare ottimi bar dove gustare un buon cocktail. Issa è davvero un ottimo padrone di casa, disponibile e gentile. Qualche black-out di troppo, ma non dipende dalla struttura. In ogni caso la Guest House è dotata di gruppo elettrogeno e quindi nel giro di pochi minuti le varie stanze/appartamenti avevano nuovamente l'energia elettrica.

• Julia (9/5): Een fantastisch verblijf die ik en mijn vriend zeker zouden willen aanraadde! heel erg bedankt Isa! - Locatie: 10/10 - Je keek uit op het strand en met een minuut was je ook op het strand. Personeel: 10/10 - je stuurde 5 minuten van te voren een appje en alles voor je werd geregeld & super vriendelijk. kamer: 9/10 - erg mooie kamer! je kon het zien als een eigen appartementje zonder keuken. Wifi & stroom : De wifi viel wel vaker uit maar dat is wat je simpelweg gewoon hebt in Afrika en in Zanzibar blijkbaar ook. De riolering: de geur daarvan was de laatste dag uit de badkamer wat meer aanwezig maar wij gingen diezelfde dag al weg dus niet veel last van gehad.

La struttura è in una zona un po' isolata ma tranquilla e silenziosa. A volte va via l'elettricità e non c'è né luce né wifi.

La casa si trova a 20 metri dalla spiaggia in un contesto africano che permette di immergersi nella vera vita degli abitanti del luogo.

• emm1f (10/5): Nice place and owners - It is a nice house close to the beach. The owner is very friendly, honest and helpful. The terrace has a nice view. I would stay there again. The breakfast is very simple, could be improved. They have fiber internet, but the speed was slow in the village, around 9 mbps. 4G was not much better either. Sometimes they have power cuts on the island. The house has a backup generator if needed.

Issa, le propriétaire, a un véritable sens de l’accueil : il s’occupe très bien de ses clients, toujours disponible, accueillant et généreux. J’ai été agréablement surprise par la qualité du séjour. Le petit-déjeuner est délicieux, avec une confiture locale excellente. La plage se trouve à seulement deux minutes à pied. La chambre est propre, spacieuse, et offre une vue incroyable sur la mer au réveil. Je reviendrai sans hésiter. Merci Issa Tout était bien.

• Tamta (8/5): - I advice to whoever plans to stay here pay more and only book second floor rooms. On our case unfortunately guesthouse didnt fulfill our expectations but still was okey cause of kind staff, nice breakfast and central location by the beach. Be aware that first floor rooms are not sound proof at all and many loud people passing outside, cats fight at night, so was nearly impossible to sleep both nights we stayed.. Aswell I would't call it a beach front hotel as its surrounded by high walls and few more buildings were ahead of us. Still it was only 1-2 min walk to the beach. I recommend improving corner room facilities and fixing sockets, adding more light bulbs. Based on our previous stays all over Zanzibar It felt like room didnt match the price at the end✌️😉 No beachfront as mentioned, broken sockets

• Sarah (9/5): Chouette séjour à Jambiani - L’emplacement à quelques pas de la plage, des restaurants et bars. La chambre est grande avec une salle de bain privée et une jolie terrasse. Personnel accueillant et sympathique. Petit déjeuner très bon. Difficulté à avoir de l’eau chaude, sur 3 jours on a du avoir 1 douche chaude. Petit déjeuner au plus tôt à 7h30, dommage si on doit partir tôt en excursion. Peut être qu’un petit déjeuner à emporter serait une chouette option.

Tout cela a remplacé le tips du coup.

• Mariam (10/5): Lieu très charmant et agréable à quelques mètres dune tres belle plage - L'hôtel est un lieu accueillant et familial, le personnel est très agréable, le propriétaire s'occupe bien de ses clients et donne de bons conseils, les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables. Et la magnifique plage est à seulement quelques mètres. Un très bon rapport qualité/ prix.
• laetitia (10/5): Un cadre idyllique pour des vacances inoubliables. - Les chambres vue sur la mer sont décorées avec beaucoup de goût. Elles sont propres et ont le nécessaire pour un séjour au bord de l’eau. L’accueil et la gentillesse des hôtes était très appréciable. Le petit déjeuner servi en chambre sur la terrasse copieux, varié et frais. Un délice! Des petits restaurants alentours très sympa, une école de surf balade en bateau et un cœur de village typique qui permet de visiter une école. Les émanations de fumée par la fenêtre de la salle de bain gênent un peu pendant le sommeil mais c’est un détail auquel on s’habitue.
• Elena (10/5): Asante sana! - La struttura è in ottima posizione davanti al mare. Il terrazzo della camera è stupendo e curato e qui viene servita la colazione. La spiaggia davanti è molto bella e ci sono vari ristoranti nella zona. La stanza è molto spaziosa è il letto comodo. Il personale è molto gentile e disponibile. Asante sana! La zona vicino all’alloggio non è tenuta molto bene e ci sono vari rifiuti.
• Léa (10/5): Logement parfait à Jambiani ! - Tout était absolument parfait ! Le logement est situé à quelques secondes à pied de la plage, nous avons eu une chambre magnifique, spacieuse, avec une grande terrasse. Le petit-déjeuner est excellent ! Fruits, œufs, crêpes, café, thé, jus de fruit… un délice. Le personnel est aux petits soins, c’était un séjour magique, nous recommandons vivement !

• Rebecca (10/5): If you want a quiet getaway overlooking the ocean, this is the place to stay! - This place was beautiful! We loved that it was set back from the beach so it was quiet, yet we had easy access to the ocean and we had a wonderful view of the turquoise waters from our large covered balcony. The balcony was an extension of our huge and pleasant room. A delicious and plentiful breakfast was delivered to our balcony each morning. The owner was very kind! He allowed us to stay extra time, since our taxi wasn't arriving until after check-out time. The only issue here was that there were power outages from time to time. This is not something the owner has control over - it affected many businesses in the area. The owner plans to buy a generator when he has saved the money needed to buy it.

• Wob. (9/5): Perfect Location - Amka House is a perfect place for independent travelers like us. The rooms are really nice and the wonderful breakfast, brought to our terrace in the mornings, included coffee/tea, fresh juice, fruits, eggs, bread and crêpes. Amka House is not first row, but so close to the beach that you can just go barefoot in your swimming suit. Some rooms have sea view. The beach just in front is suitable at high and low tide (you just go further to the sand bank). There are no sun beds, but in the afternoon you can sit in the sand in the shadow from the palm trees and watch the local kids swimming and playing football. There are bars just in front, too. The village: This part of Jambiani just behind the Amka House is a local Tanzanian village with some infrastructure like little souvenir shops and local restaurants with meals for decent prices starting at 10.000 TZS (if you don't want to pay the beach front). People are very friendly, and there are also plenty of little "supermarkets" to buy water, fruits, etc. You can walk 5min to the main road and take a Daladala (the common shared mini buses) and go for 500 TZS to Paje (or take a local Tuktuk for 5-7000 TZS) or 3000 TZS to Stone Town (Stone Town can take 2 hours though and you need to change Daladala). We also made our way from the airport to Amka House with the Daladala. If you are more into organized transport, the owner of Amka House Isaa is happy to arrange everything for you! He is very friendly and speaks good English and can also organize excursions for you to visit the island. Overall: Being locked in a "resort" would be a nightmare for us, so we found exactly what we were looking for at Amka House - the mix of comfort and local life at a wonderful beach. Electric cuts every day.....

• Solmoon (10/5): Beautiful Amka - The best place we stayed in in Zanzibar. We stayed in Kendwa in two different hotels and Stonetown at luxury hotel, and AMKA is very good and as good as the other hotels we stayed at. They owner and his wife ate very kind and always ready to help. We slept very well at night. We had two rooms with terrace looking out on a beautiful view of the sea. The bathrooms are very big and modern. The big rooms are very nice with big beds and good mattress and pillows. All very clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful week here and will come back soon. Thank you for a very good vacation. We liked everything ♥
• Solmoon (10/5): Exceptional - A very good experience so good we stayed extra time! The rooms are well.decorated and the cleanest Hotel we stayed in during out trip. We had 2 lovely balcony rooms with tables and chairs anf benches and a view of the ocean. The breakfast brought by Ramadan was excellent . I asked him if they had papaya and next day he served me papaya for breakfast . Thank you Ramadan. Very nice . Nothing !!!

• Dejana (9/5): Great stay and a feel of paradise! - I loved the location on the beach and the sea view. Also, the hosts were really amazing and at disposal for everything I needed, especially Leila! Don't miss out to go to Mtende beach with her! The breakfasts in the morning were also very nice, although the staff who does the service can tend to be a bit slow sometimes. I spent almost 2 weeks here! I would definitely come back here, I had everything I needed for a perfect holiday! I only didn't like that there were some power cut offs and therefore wi-fi issues, but this was out of the owners control, and I used the wi-fi from the beach bars in these situations. Also there's not a lot of street lightning in the area around the house, so it was a bit creepy to walk around at night with some of the locals who can be a bit pushy and too friendly.
• Tinyiko (1/5): Not worth it - I didn’t like anything about the property expect the location. Falsely advertised, the bathroom was leaking, the room was small, there is a lot of noise and there isn’t much privacy during the stay.

• Angela (1/5): Dont book here: unfinished property. Disappointing! - We booked for 3 nights. We didn’t like what we saw and they allowed us to leave after the first night and go somewhere else and only pay for that night. Unfortunately, the property does not match the description provided in the listing. We expected a completed house with quality accommodations, but upon arrival, we found several issues: the house is unfinished, there is no security fence on the balcony, some walls have visible humidity, the lights are not fully installed, among other problems.
• Aida (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful view and authentic feeling. The location is quiet but close to shops if you need anything. The staff is very helpful and welcoming! If you're looking for a relaxing stay this is it! Nice breakfast with fresh fruits is a definite plus!

• Mariona (1/5): Horrible, not as in the pictures - acceptable breakfast It was the worst experience in Zanzibar so far. Property impossible to find, wrong location and no sign. Property located in front of a cementery. Different room than booked. No bathroom, while room booked was supposed to have one. Pictures not matching the accommodation. Horrible service and no solutions or alternatives offered, claiming fault to clients.
• Chagit (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and quiet clean house. I only stayed for one night. The room was comfortable and the location is great right on the beach
• Alexandra (5/5): For people traveling on a tight budget this might be suitable but generally speaking I would not recommend staying at Am - Issa was friendly, the breakfast was good, and it was a quick walk to the beach. The location is in the village and very loud (roosters, other animals, the call to prayer from a nearby mosque starting just after 5 AM). At the time of our stay there was construction being done right next door so we also had to deal with hammering sounds. We stayed 3 nights and our room didn’t get cleaned. The room was full of ants that infested our luggage. When we told them about it they just gave us a spray but still didn’t clean the room, and it didn’t do the trick.
