Guest Reviews
- John (8/5): Good Value an every friendly. - This is a basic room in pub - entirely adequate for what I needed. The staff and customers at the location made it a pleasure to stay - they were all friendly and obliging. The stay was excellent value. Only issue was no phone signal in the village, but the free wifi was very good and covered the whole premises easily.
- Jane (1/5): The owner needs a cleaner that can clean it’s disgusting - Absolutely nothing. The landlord was pleasant when I told him we couldn’t stay because of how dirty the room was. However, I’ve had to chase the refund that was agreed. Building is in a derelict, semi refurbing state downstairs. Said check in was 3pm but all locked up with painters in pub. Landlord came 30 mins later and showed us to the room. Dirty, mouldy, damaged bedroom furniture. Rotten window frames, controls without batteries in. No channels programmed on TV, long black hair on bathroom floor, flies and pubic hair on and in toilet. Carpet dirty and grubby. One of the worse places to stay I’ve encountered so far using booking.com. carpark at the back of the pub has abandoned rusty cars to the point we thought it was a scrapyard. Chacewater is a run down dump and needs some money throwing at it. Booking.com will only allow you to put 4 photos so go to Trip advisor for the rest.

- fiona (7/5): Cornwall - Friendly bar staff. Room clean and tidy Downstairs bar and toilet bit shabby
- Jamie (9/5): Made very welcome and would definitely return if in the area - Brilliant sized rooms Stairs
- Alistair (7/5): Good location value for money - It was fine for what I needed No milk in the room for tea & coffee
- Beverley (1/5): Keys that work would help - Not much The radiator wasn't working and I was provided with a small heater instead.
Singlepane glass window meant the noise from the garden was clear as day in the room until long after 11pm. The drunken singing was worthy of 4 X's on X-factor.
The shower was mouldy and barely had any pressure. I might as well have washed in the rain.
But most concerning of all was the fact that the door key to leave the premises didn't work and when I tried to call to get their assistance my calls were ignored.
Even now they haven't bothered to reply to my messages to apologise.
If I could give 0 I would.
- Richard (1/5): Grotty and uncomfortable - Nothing Everything
- Paul Marshall (7/5): - The landlord was very nice even though he was a bit tight with the sachets of coffee, I had 1 in the room I asked for more, he gave me 1 sachet and said he'd bring more up later, never saw him again Even though the place was clean and comfortable it really needs an update as I don't think the windows have been changed for over 40yrs they may as well not be there for the amount of noise itera in, and it was darts night I could hear every thud of the darts hitting the 2 boards downstairs

- Maureen (7/5): Our stay was fine apart from the dirty bathroom - Location perfect for our needs bedroom was lovely and clean staff were very nice Bathroom was not fully clean used soap with hair on it in the shower and toilet was not flushed

- TRACEY (1/5): - Staff were very helpful. The free WiFi worked well and the bed was comfortable. I did not feel very safe as I was travelling alone. The owners shut the pub and lived elsewhere overnight and there were no contact details. My room was not too bad but the rest of the property felt like it needed a complete refit and redecoration.

- Tamsin (7/5): - Friendly helpful people. Facilitated an early check in
- Patrick (8/5): -
- Fred (9/5): - Rustic quiet ensuite room.
- Martin (8/5): All in all a nice stay with lovely hosts, nice comfortable bed., and a good location. - The owners who run the property were very nice and very helpful. Perhaps net curtains or blinds in the bedroom for some privacy from the street.
- Andy (3/5): The place was a bit shabby. It looks nothing like the website. If you just want a room for the night it’s ok. - The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The website said food was available but there wasn’t any. The was no breakfast, so I had to go into Truro to find some.

- Ciara (10/5): - Homely vibes, good value for money, comfy bed, nice bar below the room with plenty of entertainment and not to far to travel to Newquay
- Charlotte (5/5): All I needed was a clean safe stop over for a work trip to Cornwall. So wasn't expecting top class. - The bed was very comfortable. Sadly the bathroom wasn't good. The shower drain I think had some form of blockage so the tray filled up. I had to finish quickly so it didn't overflow onto the floor. The toilet didn't flush well. There was also someone's blood on the loo behind the seat.
The bedside lamp didn't work on one side however by morning none of the plugs worked so couldn't make a coffee, or dry my hair.
- Olivia (5/5): Comfortable stay in a family pub. Hosts were lovely. Just a few things which could easily be improved to make us want to - The location was good at the staff were lovely. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. There were some things missing from our room. No shampoo, tea spoons for tea/coffee, WiFi code in the room. We struggled to get into the building at one point. The window in our room also wouldn’t close. Karaoke until 1am on Saturday night kept us up too.
- Lucy (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely hosts. Comfy large room.
- Lamb (8/5): Very good -
- Jack (1/5): Bad - They shut earlier than they said on there website and no one answered the phone to us all night. Had to sleep on a sofa at the venue we went to. Absolutely shocking!!!
- Andre (3/5): Poor - Nothing
