Guest Reviews
- Penny (10/5): Stunning - Wow - beautiful location. The views looking over the bay were lovely.
- stella (9/5): - Location, ease of parking Bathroom could be better
- Shelagh (9/5): Great, cosy dog-friendly flat for a short/long stay. - Good location. Cosy flat which was beautifully done inside. Everything that you needed was there, right down to the milk in the fridge which I hadn't noticed at first so that was my breakfast sorted. Great WiFi and comprehensive welcome booklet giving all info needed. Lovely view out the bedroom/living room. Plenty of takeaway shops, cafes. Excellent bus service which covers the whole island taking you to some lovely beaches. Shower powerful and hot. Only one very minor point I would mention (which I've informed the owner of and she is going to take a look at.) The key to the flat is in a key safe which I found tricky to open on the day. I did manage eventually but I also couldn't get it back open on the day of leaving to leave the key in it. I had to phone the flat owner who advised me to leave it on the table inside so all was good in the end.
- Gills (10/5): Small but perfectly formed - Great location. Catered for everything Nothing.
- Jayne May (7/5): - Easy parking, access the Isle and had some lovely views over the port. The outside of the building.
- William (10/5): - Took my wife for her 60th birthday and the owner of the flat Sheena organised a cake, flowers, balloons and banners for her birthday, made an old lady very happy. The flat is very comfortable and beautiful views. Highly recommended. Not a thing
- Laura (8/5): We enjoyed it and helped we had the car for what we wanted to do. - Great view. Clean, and very comfortable bed. It was a bit small for us but it’s cosy.
- claire (10/5): Lovely wee flat that is a perfect base to see the island - Great location, super easy to get to, check in (LOVE a key safe) easy to find, easy to park. (I did go in April so not sure what the parking situation is high season)
everything about it is extremely welcoming. The information pack is full of local insights and useful things like a list of dog friendly restaurants, and local activities in the pub a few doors down. it was my first trip away with my year old puppy and having the extra bowls, blankets and toys made us feel really welcome. Having the beach a 2 second walk made his morning and evening bathroom trips so easy too despite it being a flat with no garden. Nothing really, it was perfect for us. A tiny thing is the stovetop situation with there being no extractor fan. My first morning I set the fire alarm off cooking bacon 🤦♀️ but the second morning I cooked low and slow and opened the window and it was fine 🤷♀️😅
- Danay (10/5): - Really nice flat with wonderful views of the port. Was really easy to communicate with Sheena and the flat was really clean and well equipped - had everything we needed for a few days stay. It was also extremely pet friendly, which made our stay very stress free. We had a wonderful time and would definitely come back! We had no issues!

- Carolyn (10/5): Lovely flat with the most amazing views over the harbour. - The location and view are awesome, right on the harbour. Comfortable bed and couch, great atmosphere and handy kitchen. It was easy to find with great communication from the owner. As you walk in, you are met with a beautiful, clean flat with tasteful decor.
The bathroom, although small, is immaculate as is the rest of the flat.
It’s the attention to detail & thoughtfulness that was lovely from hand written island guides to a bits n bobs box. The view is breathtaking & always changing.
The locals were friendly & inviting.
We cannot praise it enough & shall definitely return. We didn’t like that we had to leave! There is nothing we could fault.

- Simon (4/5): Enjoyed Bute but would stay elsewhere if we visit again. Good for one night. - View of the harbour and the location. The property feels a little tired and in need of some TLC. The apartment was quiet at night
Good views across the bay
The bed was very comfortable and linen provided good
WiFi worked well The next door building is having significant renovations carried out, which the builders start at 8am and end at 5pm, with constant drilling and hammering on external walls all day !

I pan with lid, 1 wonky omelette pan. 2 hob electric plate. Kitchen sink with no plug or washing up bowl.

- Luke (10/5): Perfect, highly recommend staying here - Great property, great view. Caroline was lovely and very helpful. My fiancé and I stayed here with our 2 dogs and there were dog bowls left out with some treats too which was very nice. Would highly recommend staying at An Cuilidh!
- Kay (8/5): Great views , good value, great location - Great views & very cosy Just a little dark in the kitchen area & needed a wooden spoon!
- Lorna (4/5): Dirty property - The furniture was comfortable and the location was good. It was shabby and dirty. Chipped paint on the doors. The drain on the bathroom sink was gross, the grout on the shower tiles was dirty, the skirting boards were dirty. There is plain glass above the front door and anyone walking down the stairs can see right into the bedroom.
- Shaz1493 (8/5): Very good - It had a great view from bedroom and living room area. Toilet very small and smelly, think drainage needs looked at. Bed was very comfortable had a great sleep. Would stay again. May weekend stay.

- Claire (8/5): Very good - The peacefulness
- Caitlin (9/5): Superb - Wonderful views. Quiet area. The kitchen didn’t work well for our purposes, and as a self-catered accommodation, it put a spanner in the works.

Easy check in and out, place is spotless and welcoming with everything you could possible need. The bed is about 10x comfier than my bed at home and there are plenty of pillows and blankets to make sure you’re comfortable.
The view is everything. I’ve always loved the Port and the view js just perfect Absolutely nothing, couldn’t have asked for more
- Jeremy (10/5): Relaxing place to stay. - Ideal for a couple and a dog. The view from the window is a beaut Friendly dog friendly pub The Anchor within easy reach. On the main road but so quiet. Didn't affect us but there is no disabled access.
- Anonymous (10/5): Great Accommodation - Our 3 night at the flat were great.
Really comfortable
Great location
Will book again The only thing was my cat decided to have a little play in the chimney in the bedroom. Ha ha..
- Lekhakm (7/5): Autumn break - We really enjoyed the view from the flat and the quietness in general. It was just right for a family of three. I assumed there would be a microwave for easy meal preparations especially when traveling with a toddler but was a bit surprised not to see one. Would recommend you to have one if possible as it will be more convenient for people who come on a holiday. Also did see few hairs on our fitted sheet, pillow cover which we had to clear before using. Apart from that everything else was clean. These are our honest feedbacks and hope you will take it in the right sense because we really did enjoy our stay in the island and at An Cuilidh. It would be great if you could pay attention to the above mentioned. Thank you and all the best.
- Anna (9/5): Lovely little place, great hosts - The flat was so lovely & clean. Very well set up with everything you could need. Location is quiet- I think I would have enjoyed staying in Rothesay slightly more to be able to walk to more attractions etc. but it's only 5 minute down the road so fine either way.
The hosts were great about communication & everything was as they said. Everything was great! The place is very small though- ideal for couple but would be a squeeze for anything else.
- Chris (8/5): Very good - Lovely views, beautiful island
- Clare (9/5): Great location easy access lovely view - Sea view + dog friendly
- Catherine (7/5): Luvly at port bannatyne - Luvly location.
Compact with a great view.
Luvly bed linen really clean , great towels . Good size bedroom .
Local community run pub fantastic made us welcome . Bathroom small and needs renovation.
No microwave.
Oven but only 2 small rings for hot plate that plugged in , hence we didn’t cook ate out , disappointing . Furniture and linen was all clean but kitchen surfaces and front of oven could have been cleaner , some tea stains on door.
