Compare the photos the first three are the rooms we stayed in and the last one - I did not like staying at a different room than shown when booking. The property owner did not apologise for changing the rooms and he said that this is different Property in the same compound.. In the same compound, there are two properties we booked for Shon Villa, but we were given the room at Rico Hotel which had rooms different from the pictures and they were not as described.

• Rafał (6/5): Dobre towarzystwo które nam pozwoli stworzyć fajna atmosferę - Dobre towarzystwo. Pomocny menadżer obiektu. Jedzenie w porządku ale na zamawiane z karty trzeba było czekać około o czym byliśmy informowani. Obiekt ogólnie fajny, ma dwa baseny. Trzeba tylko trochę lepiej o niego zadbać. Nie ma plaży więc basen to największy atut, trzeba czystości . Czasem brudna woda w basenie (mogli też czasem po prostu wyszorować brzegi) słaba klima (lecz po zgłoszeniu problemu dano nam nowy pokój, kła została naprawiona, przeniesiono nas do innego pokoju w budynku w którym praktycznie w każdej łazience śmierdziało fekaliami. Brak sprzątania w pokojach przy dłuższym pobycie.

• Ada (6/5): - The place was nice, the location close by the beach was also nice, and the food was good.:) Room and the bathroom were big and clean. The swimming pool was a great plus. the room smelled of mold, and we couldn't open the windows, because of mosquitos. the location is nice but there are almost no restaurants close by so It was difficult to eat out, and prices at the hotel aren't the cheapest plus there's a service charge the WiFi didn't work almost at all

• Kevin (8/5): A good value, especially for those longing for the nearby beach. - The staff were friendly and attentive to my requests. Breakfast timing was flexible and I was served more food than I could eat. The open-air (but covered) patio provided a beautiful view of the ocean. My room was basic, but it was quite adequate for my needs. Unfortunately, I did not use the pool even though it looked quite inviting.
• Véronique Trafalski (7/5): The pool and the diner save the location - The pool is the main attraction and why we choose this villa for the last day in Sri Lanka We tried only the front one and it was perfect just missing some mattress for the sunbed ... We ordered food for the evening it was very good and very generous Gave us a box for breakfast because we were leaving early The room is very very basic so 1 night is ok but not more. The bed is not comfortable at all and only one pillow The AC is not working well The cleaning needs to be improved Only 1 big light on the room And it's the worst idea ever to put a glass door for a bedroom ... So all the lights are going inside of the room ... We didn't feel welcomed with the owner ? Manager ? First time in Sri Lanka we had this feeling in 26 days trip.

• Sven Tolksdorff (8/5): A decent choice for a night before or after a flight - The pool, the size of the room. The only aspect which was really disappointing was the food. It was the weakest dinner and breakfast we had on our five week trip on Sri Lanka.

Le petit-déjeuner est copieux et les deux piscines sont magnifiques. Merci encore à eux pour leur gentillesse et leur souplesse par rapport aux horaires, je recommande évidemment

• Nora (9/5): - Schöne Unterkunft mit tollem Pool zum Schwimmen und Toben für die Kinder. Der Ausblick von der Terrasse zum Frühstück ist super! Die Zimmer sind sauber, haben Klimaanlage und das Personal war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und sehr zuvorkommend! Ein perfekter Ort zum Ankommen oder auch für die letzten Tage, wie bei uns.

• Karolina (10/5): Exceptional - Service in Shon Villa was professional and very kind. We loved possibility to use the pool with a clean water and water massage. Location close to the beach, next to not so busy street. We do recommend this place.

• Karin (9/5): Perfect place to stay near airport - Near the airport. 2 pools. Near the sea. Comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Airport pick up was organized by hotel. Everything was fine.
• Maria (4/5): Breakfast will make you sick - The room was changed upon request, as the first one offered had a moldy smell to it. The new room was great and the swimming pool was nice to cool off from the heat. . Breakfast made me sick, so the hygiene of the kitchen staff is questionable. The location is remote, without any stores or restaurants in walkable distance. Some staff will stare at you, making use of the pool uncomfortable. Certain other staff have zero boundaries and will touch your kid to an inappropriate extent, needing to be told it's not ok. The beach nearby is dirty and impossible to swim in due to huge waves. Not a good value for your money and will not stay in again

• Linda (9/5): Great location for a few days with excellent food and pool. - The location was great with sea on one side and lagoon on the other. The pool was lovely as the sea not great for swimming. The food cooked fresh every day by the chef was excellent. The boat trip on the lagoon was lovely with lots of bird life and monkeys. TukTuk into Negombo was a great way to travel. It would be helpful to have pegs, or rack to hang clothes.

Good food in the roof top dining room. Nice and neat garden. Low water pressure and no hot water in the bathroom. Cleanliness needs to be improved (dust in rooms, shower tube etc.) Airt conditioning in one of the rooms covered only half of it and the other half was very hot.

• Luke (10/5): Absolutely fantastic. 5 star experience - It was Neil and his sister (NICKNAMED Florence, as she was fantastic, I cane to Shon Villa for peace, quiet and respite. They both are genuine, honest, respectful people/staff. As a business owner I would be privileged to have them run my business. Stay was sp good I postponed travelling and booked 2 extra nights. The food was the best I've tasted and I've been in Sri Lanka for 6 weeks. Definitely will come back The A/C, the food and definitely the flexibility in choice of food. The staffs helpfulness, generousidy and their genuine heart
