Guest Reviews
- Douglas (8/5): Very comfortable accommodation. - Everything that you need for a short break and very clean and well prepared. Shower room, toilet is a combination facility set up for wheelchair access which won’t be for everybody’s taste.
- Margaret (8/5): - Peaceful Unfortunately no one's fault, but really missed the clear sky.
- Kristin (10/5): Great cabin in Galloway - An amazing cabin in a gorgeous village. The kitchen was very well equipped, comfy bed, great lounge area and lovely setting on the village green. Due to a big storm in the area we were also given an emergency kit and flasks of boiling water in case of a blackout - we didn’t need to use it but appreciated the gesture.
- Helena (10/5): - Nestled in the heart of a community green. It was really quiet. The place is beautifully looked after.
- Przemyslaw (10/5): - Accomodation equipped very well including unusual items like thermos / head torches / binoculars, absolutely everything what you need includes spare duvets/ pillows. A coffee table in a living room would be a benefit,
- Dean (1/5): . - When my partner myself and 2 daughterrs arrived on Friday afternoon after a 4 hour drive. When we got to the disability friendly accommodation, we were greeted with a big mound of bird poo on the handrail leading up to the property door. Unlocked the door and went in to be greeted with the stench of bleach. My partner, who is allergic to bleach, could only be in the property for a few minutes before getting headaches and coughing due to the bleach getting on her chest. Spoke to the owner on the phone. She sent someone round to try to help, but they were unable to. I had already opened all the doors and windows, and the stench was still as strong through the property. I advised that we weren't able to stay there with and the lady agreed . Said we would be refunded and compensated as it was unacceptable. A gentleman came in and agreed it wasn't acceptable and shouldn't have happened. It was as though the cleaners used a full bottle of bleach. There were no other properties in the area for us to stay at. The food we had picked up from sainsburys in Newton Stewart had to be thrown away as it was chilled and wouldn't last the journey home. Have been refunded but no sign of any compensation and almost impossible to get hold of the owner to deal with this even 2 weeks later. My partner was unwell for the next week due to her reaction to the bleach
- Karen (7/5): Gorgeous location and clean roomy property - We absolutely loved this location, so peaceful and quiet. The property was very roomy and was one of the best we’ve stayed in.
The parking space outside the door was fantastically convenient. The property was spotlessly clean.
We really enjoyed being in the property. Every seat in lounge was low. Property was excellent for disabled apart from this omission, had to sit on a dining chair because couldn’t get off the couch and freestanding chairs were even lower.
only other thing was the amount of emails I got from Discover Scotland, non-stop emails from the moment I booked. Got one saying hope you enjoyed your stay, please check out at 10.. when we hadn’t even arrived yet, (made us panic think we’d booked the wrong date!)
- Kcorv (9/5): Superb - Clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. Communication excellent.
- Peter (7/5): Good - Front door not possible to lock from inside. Sofa bed uncomfortable.
- K (9/5): Superb -
- Jane (10/5): Would recommend, and we will be back to explore the wonderful surroundings again. - Location wonderful - in the middle of an arts and crafts purpose-built circular village constructed in the early part of the last century for foresters. A few steps outside the front door and you're in the sensual forrest.
Wonderfully equipped and warm. You'll need to use the kitchen, as there are no shops and the only pub (about a mile away) was closed when we visited. This isn't a hardship, though - it adds to the wonderful feeling of seclusion and isolation. No oven gloves provided, so had to use a hand towel :)
- Colin (9/5): Superb -
- Martha (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice apartment, clean and quiet, had everything we needed for the night
- Morag (10/5): Perfect, my sister and I took our parents who are both disabled, it was the ideal for us all - The cottage was beautiful- the surroundings were beautiful and the community were very friendly and welcoming There was nothing that we didn’t like- it was just great for us.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Graeme (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aisha (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. Cleanliness, facilities, comfort.would definitely recommend Nothing
- Mabel (7/5): Good - Sofa bed wasn't very comfy
- Russell (10/5): i travelled alone to ride my ebike from Glentrool, the Coorie was perfect for this trip - easy access, parking, comfort and cleanliness
- Helen (10/5): Magic Hideaway - Magic hideaway with everything needed! Nothing to not like!
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pauline (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely spacious cottage in a lovely wee quiet village.
Great parking No complaints
- Amy (8/5): Very good - Location lovely. Property was very clean, well equipped and ideal for our needs. Easy walk to pub in the village along the Glentrool kindness path. Only thing that could have been improved was to have a clothes airer in the property after using the washing machine. There is a washing line outside if the weather is fair.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Loved the location and being able to stay with our dog. The place was comfy and immaculate. Full disabled access throughout which is great. Great communication for check in.
