• Stefanie (10/5): A real Kanada experience - We stayed in the tent and it was one of the best accommodations we booked! It feels like a little adventure and a real Kanada experience. There is a grill where you can cook your own food and a little fireplace. At night you can see a sky full of stars. Next to the tents is the river and the view is amazing! The tent is equipped with everything you need and you can see that everything was set up with love :) Ron is very friendly, he showed us around and we instantly felt welcomed! We would definitely come again and can totally recommend it!! Nothing :)
• Maartje (10/5): Heerlijk! - Het bed sliep erg lekker. Het was een gezellig huisje. De omgeving was fijn en lekker rustig. Er zijn reviews dat er muggen zouden zitten. Dit was bij ons absoluut niet het geval, en verder is er alles in huis gehaald om je hiertegen te beschermen (klamboe, muggenspray etc.). Ron is een super vriendelijke man. Gezellig om mee te kletsen en hij heeft ons gebracht en opgehaald naar de woning met onze bagage. Het was leuk om hem te leren kennen! We hebben een fijne tijd gehad hier. -

• Ines (10/5): - Wir waren nur eine Nacht hier was wir im Nachhinein wirklich traurig fanden. Ein so schöner ruhiger Ort direkt am Fluss. Das Holzhäuschen war super schön und das Bett war wunderbar bequem. Auch das rauschen des Wassers war Nachts zu hören, was etwas beruhigende hatte. Das Frühstück, dass man dazu buchen konnte war auch sehr lecker. Die Frischen noch warmen Backwaren, die frisch zu uns geliefert wurden waren ein guter Start in den Tag.

• Noémie (9/5): Un bon séjour à l’air frais ! - Les propriétaires sont très accueillant et sympathique ! Le cadre est très dépaysant et relaxant. Les bruits des trains qui passent toute la nuit peuvent être un peu ennuyant, mais c’est aussi le charme de la région !
• Linda (10/5): Super Unterkunft - Die Lage war super. Wir konnten sehr angenehm am Fluss entspannen und abends grillen. Die Betten waren sehr bequem und man hört zwar die Züge, aber es wurde an alles gedacht (Es gibt Ohrstöpsel). Wir haben auch ein Upgrade auf ein größeres Zelt bekommen. So konnten wir alle in einem Zelt übernachten. Super gastfreundlich. Wir haben ein paar Eier und Tipps für die Umgebung und unsere weitere Reise mitgenommen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
• Nina (9/5): Abenteuer mitten in der Natur. Ohne Internet einfach mal ein paar Tage entschleunigen. - Wir wurden sehr herzlich von unserem Gastgeber Ron empfangen und mit dem Pick-Up Truck zu unserer Hütte mitten im Wald gebracht. In der Hütte gibt es keinen Strom aber jede Menge romantische Led-Lichterketten. Kühlschrank und Wasserpumpe wurden mit Gas betrieben. Hat alles wunderbar funktioniert. Zum Kochen gab es außerhalb der Hütte eine Gas-Kochstelle, die wir sogar bei Regen genutzt haben. Leben Mitten in der Natur. Die Kinder liebten das Holzhacken im Wald nahe der Hütte. Ron brachte uns trockenes Brennholz für das Lagerfeuer. Auf Bestellung bekamen wir morgens frische Eier von Rons Hühnern vor die Tür gebracht. Ein besonderes Highlight waren die Hummingbirds. Diese kann man tatsächlich in diesem Wald in ihrem natürlichen Lebensraum beobachten. Nett waren auch die Gespräche mit Ron, in denen wir viel über das Leben auf der Farm und die Umgebung erfahren haben. Da ich immer kalte Füße habe, hat mir Ron sogar ein paar warme Wollsocken vorbeigebracht, damit ich nicht frieren musste. Danke dafür! Die Moskitos waren schon sehr unangenehm. Weite Kleidung, Insektenspray und Lagerfeuer helfen! Wenn man in der Natur wohnt, dann muss man mit so etwas rechnen.
• Kerry (10/5): Luxury camping that’s back to nature - Remote, clean with home comforts. Fire pit and BBQ allowed us to get back to nature and enjoy some time off grid. Hammock, book and the sound of the river was blissful. Owner was super accommodating and kind, dropped us some freshly laid eggs and gave us a tour of his new hives. Would definitely recommend and great for star gazing

• Fabrice (10/5): Bon séjour en nature - La propreté, le chalet très joli. L’accueil du propriétaire et sa disponibilité, merci à lui c’est un lieu atypique. Il n’est pas assez mis en avant le fait qu’il n’y a pas de réseau sur place, ni d’électricité et qu’il y a des toilettes sèches ainsi qu’une cuve pour l’eau (eau pour la douche et l’évier non potable, de l’eau potable est mise à disposition tout de même).

The host was super accommodating and I loved that he needed to be a few minutes late because he was needed for fire rescue or to save a beehive. It felt like a different world and genuinely authentic. The shower was ridiculously cold. Where you meet the host is quite messy, would’ve liked that to be tidied up.

• Jens (9/5): Back to basic with everything you need - De gastheer Ron is super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het huisje heeft alles je nodig hebt en is ruimer dan je verwacht. Buiten koken is ook erg leuk! In de avond een lekker kampvuurtje maken. Er zijn 3 tenten, 1 kleine blokhut en 1 grote blokhut. Wij zaten met ons gezin in de grote blokhut voor 3 nachten, heerlijk! Niets alles is aanwezig.

• Cécilia (10/5): - Nous avons passé un merveilleux moment au Blue Stone acres farm. Tout d'abord un grand merci à Ron qui est extrêmement accueillant et chaleureux. Toujours présent et prêt à aider pour toute demande. Il donne également de bons conseils sur les endroits à visiter aux alentours. Petit plus il fait de magnifiques feux de camp le soir et cela permet aussi de discuter. En ce qui concerne la tente : bien aménagée, équipée et confortable. Vous avez un espace extérieur avec une table et un barbecue, de quoi vraiment profiter du plein air avec tout le nécessaire à disposition (couverts, assiettes, verres, ustensiles pour le barbecue, sopalin, tasse, liquide vaisselle, lave main, eau potable et non potable pour la vaisselle). Bref un endroit que nous recommandons vivement pour déconnecter et apprécier la nature :)

• Stefanie (9/5): - Ron war ein toller Gastgeber und hat alles getan, damit wir uns wohlfühlen!! Das Zelt war recht groß und gut ausgestattet. Man ist mitten in der Natur. Die Toilette hätte was größer sein können und ein Spiegel wäre gut gewesen.
• Gabrielle (8/5): Un séjour "roots" que nous avons adoré - Le cadre incroyable de cette cabane au bord de l'eau, le retour à la nature, les équipements mis à disposition, la sympathie de l'hôte Ron, le calme. Il n'était pas vraiment spécifié qu'il s'agit d'une petite poche à eau froide pour la douche par exemple dans la description, mais pour notre part nous avons adoré l'expérience "roots"! La contrainte restrictive des feux n'était pas encore en rigueur donc nous avons pu profiter du feu, du barbecue, c'était incroyable. Un moment gravé à jamais dans nos têtes ! Peut-être que certains pourraient être un peu apeuré par le côté sauvage (la douche dans une petite tente à l'eau froide, les toilettes sèches communes). Il y a énormément de moustique, il faut le savoir mais honnêtement ils mettent à disposition plein de produits ! Il faut pouvoir marcher convenablement car il y a une bonne remontée pour retourner à la voiture pour aller manger ailleurs par exemple. La cabane était super, j'ai suggéré à l'hôte la mise en place de rideau afin de pouvoir obscurcir la cabane car avec le toit transparent, on est réveillé dès le levé du jour.
• Janine (10/5): Natur pur! - Es war alles super. Eine sehr niedliche Hütte mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail und zur Natur. Es war alles sehr sauber und es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Sehr bequemes Bett und die Aussicht durchs Schlafzimmerfenster auf den Wald und den Fluss bildeten den perfekten Start in den Tag. Die Außenküche mit Gaskocher und Grill war auch sehr sauber und hat perfekt funktioniert. Wir bekamen einen riesigen Trinkwasserkanister und Gastgeber Ron hat uns alle Funktionen der Hütte sehr gut erklärt. Mit Gepäckshuttle, Lagerfeuer entzünden und Reise-Tipps fühlten wir uns bestens betreut. Es war ein naturnahes Erlebnis, das sehr auf Nachhaltigkeit ausgerichtet ist und dennoch viele Annehmlichkeiten zu bieten hat und auch zeigt "wie es gehen kann". Im Ort gibt es einen kleinen Gemischtwarenladen, in dem man alles Notwendige erwerben kann. Die Nähe zu Clearwater und dem Wells Grey Provincial Park mit seinen vielen beeindruckenden Wasserfällen machen diese Unterkunft zu einem echten Schatz. An der Vogeltränke auf der Veranda konnten wir Kolibris beim Trinken beobachten. Auch die Zelte, in denen unser "Mitreisender" übernachtet hat, waren echt super. Es gab leider sehr viele Stechmücken im Juli, aber so ist das mit der Natur. Hütte und Zelt waren übrigens super mit Fliegengittern geschützt. Das Stechmückenproblem hatten wir anderswo auch und dafür können die Gastgeber nichts. Lange, weite Kleidung und Lagerfeuer helfen. Man muss ausreichend mobil sein für das Wohnen in der Hütte, da die Treppe hoch zum Schlafzimmer schon sehr steil ist. Wer nach Komfort sucht, sollte besser woanders übernachten. Wir hatten 2 Nächte gebucht und wären gerne noch eine weitere Nacht geblieben, da die Umgebung neben Wandern und dem Wells Grey auch noch tolle Erlebnisse wie Reiten oder Rafting zu bieten hat. Dafür war unser Aufenthalt leider zu kurz.
• Laura (8/5): - The tent and amenities matched the description perfectly. Ron was very welcoming and responsive to any requests. It rained the night we stayed, and Ron kindly provided us with a thicker blanket. The tent was clean and well set up, and the air mattress was comfortable. A train line runs close to the property (we were informed in advance). The first two trains can be a bit disturbing, but after that they blend into the background like white noise. There are quite a lot of mosquitoes, but Ron provides spray cans for the tent. Make sure to bring a good repellent for your body as well.

Il y a de quoi faire un feu et un barbecue à gaz La douche et les toilettes sont très sommaires. Douche sous 1 petite tente à l eau froide et toilette sèche dans un petit cabanon. La proximité du train est à connaître même si cela ne nous à pas gêné pour dormir.
• Julian (8/5): - Es ist eine sehr schöne Unterkunft, in welcher man die kanadische Natur hautnah erlebt. Der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es gab leider sehr viele Moskitos, welche das Draußen-Sitzen erschwerten. Zudem führt eine Bahnlinie relativ nah am Camp vorbei. Als Abenteuer ist es super, als Erholung nach beispielsweise Wanderungen, eher ungeeignet.

• Jan Halvor (8/5): Great place to stop for a night or two but bring warm clothes and earplugs - Great secluded location by the river. Barbecue and fire pit and cooking utensils available. Beautiful nature with lots of birds. Nice clamping tent. I didn’t like the inflatable mattress and it got quite cold at night, partially because of the cold air in the mattress. The trains passing by all night were loud and annoying even though they were on the other side of the river.
• Maria (10/5): Great stay close to Wells Gray! - I stayed in the Thor tent right next to the river in between tree and shrubbery. Amazing! The bed was comfy and the tent spacious. Lots of amenities were provided (potable and non-potable water, a BBQ + utensils, bug spray, etc). Shared bathroom facilities were only a very short walk away. I also got a tour of the apiary and veggie garden. Both hosts are super nice and communication was great. Will definitely stay here again!

• Henriette (10/5): Geweldig natuur huisje - Een heerlijk huisje middenin de natuur. Mooi uitzicht op groen en van alle gemakken voorzien. Leuk dat je boven vanuit je bed een mooi uitzicht hebt op het groen. Heerlijk bed en de bank zat ook goed. Buiten keuken is ook leuk en indien gewenst maakt de eigenaar Ron een kampvuur voor je. De verse eitjes waren ook goed! Het enige dingetje is de trein die af en toe de fijne rust verstoort. Maar dan besef je pas hoe rustig en fijn het er is!

• Shalini (7/5): - Ron was very kind and friendly, and even gave us a report on the road conditions the morning we left The location close to Wells Gray Provincial Park was excellent. The tent was well equipped, right down to bug spray, cooking utensils and anti-itch cream. I admire what Kaare and Ron are trying to set up on their property. It was very cold the night we stayed, and I really wish that I had insisted on extra blankets! Also the air mattress was quite uncomfortable (not sure if it wasn't blown up enough...) - because there was a significant weight difference between my mother and I most of the night I was rolling off the mattress towards the floor and she was rolling towards me. If two people were the same weight it likely wouldn't be a problem. It said in both the pre-arrival message and on booking.com that there is a shower available but in actual fact there was not one when we were there... And finally (this is nit-picking I admit :-) ) the property really isn't a farm... It is what we in Australia would call a bush block, with some chickens and bees thrown in.

Very ‘picky’ details (because mostly everything was great) proper mugs with handles would be nice for coffee/tea instead of plastic beakers, and seats to sit on deck (out of rain) would be great. But honestly- it was a great stay

Il nous a même mis des couvertures en plus sur demande. Il prend le temps de tout nous expliquer et de parler avec nous. Sur ses conseils, on a même vu des aurores boréales ! Tente spacieuse. On peut faire un feu. Matelas pas très confortable pour deux. Nous avons peu dormi car les températures étaient descendu à 5 degrés la nuit. Je recommande la tente avec des températures plus agréables.

• Florian (9/5): - Diese Unterkunft war die perfekte Möglichkeit für einen Zwischenstopp zwischen Vancouver und Jasper. Ich hatte nach etwas außergewöhnlichen geschaut und genau das bei dieser Unterkunft gefunden. Alles war super sauber und ordentlich, sodass man sich direkt wohl gefühlt hat. Für die Zukunft wäre eventuell eine Heizmöglichkeit super, sodass man auch bei kälteren Temperaturen diese tolle Unterkunft nutzen kann. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen und freue mich jetzt schon auf den nächsten Besuch.

• Tim (10/5): Inspiring and relaxing cabin in the woods - This place is a little gem! The surroundings are wonderful, we had so much fun enjoying the nature outside, cooking up a couple of local steaks that Ron got for us, and sitting round an open fire. We were even treated to the Northern Lights during our stay. The cabin itself is really well equipped, cosy but with plenty of space. Ron was such a kind and attentive host. Such a great stay! I wish I'd booked a longer stay!
• Andrew (10/5): Exceptional stay, would highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable outdoor stay in the forest - The whole experience was brilliant from start to finish. The hosts made us feel very welcome, had lots of time for us to get us settled, and even helped to set up our fire and cooking stove. The cottage was exceptional, very comfortable and cosy. We sat by the fire in the evening, got amazing night sky views, and watched the sun rise from the loft bed window.

• Demi (10/5): Unieke plek in de Canadese natuur - Hier verblijven was een heel goede keuze! Middenin de natuur helemaal tot rust komen, met een fantastische host die altijd voor ons klaar stond. Back to basics, maar dan net wat luxer. Wat een topplek. Een echte aanrader voor je trip door Canada!
• Maximilian (9/5): Zwei Nächte in der Natur in einem nach Holz duftenden Häuschen. - Eine liebevoll eingerichtete kleine Holzhütte in Mitten von Natur. Der Gastgeber hat uns mit unserem Gepäck zum/vom Quartier transportiert, alles genau erklärt und war sehr hilfsbereit. Eine Übernachtung hier ist ‚mal was anderes‘ und sehr zu empfehlen! Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Alles super, denn wir wussten Bescheid, dass es keinen Strom und Trinkwasser gibt.

• lucia (10/5): Meraviglioso - l'abitazione è bellissima ed in condizione perfette, estremamente pulita e dotata di tutto. è in posizione meravigliosa in mezzo al bosco e nei pressi del fiume. il proprietario super accogliente ed estremamente disponibile, una permanenza bellissima! nulla
• Gabriel (10/5): Lovely nature retreat - This place was lovely. We enjoyed it very much. Ron, our host, was super welcoming. If you're looking for something secluded and in the middle of nature, you're in for a treat!

• Anette (8/5): Fantastisk sted, væk fra byen tæt på naturen - Suuuper hyggeligt og godt sted lige ned til floden. Tæt på rigtig mange vandfald og vandaktiviteter i nærmeste by Clearwater. Vi var der midt sommer, så det var en del myg. Vi brugte mygge spray som var tilgængelig, virkede perfekt.

• RainerSchwarz (7/5): EIne sehr naturnahe Übernachtung. - Die Zelte bzw. Hütten liegen unten direkt am Thompson River inmitten von Wald. Man hört das Rauschen des Flusses. Mal was ganz anderes. Es gibt dort ein saubere Toilette, aber keine Duschen. Ein gefüllter Kanister mit Wasser wird bereitgestellt. Es ist auch eine Feuerstelle mit etwas Holz vorhanden. Alles ist absolut sauber und liebevoll hergrichtet. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Wir wohnten in der Hütte. Es gibt aber auch ein Zelt mit wohl ähnlichem Komfort. Man kann leider nicht mit dem eigenen Wagen zur Unterkunft fahren, da der Weg am Hang zu steil ist. Der Besitzer bringt einen mit dem Gepäck in seinem 4-Wheel-Drive Auto runter und wieder hoch. Also muss man sich vorher überlegen was man alles mit nimmt.
• Adrian (9/5): Fantástica cabaña en el bosque - La localización en la naturaleza, justo al lado de un rio, encender el fuego y ver las estrellas por la noche si el tiempo acompaña, fue una experiencia fantástica. Ofreze una verdadera experiencia en la naturaleza con los compromisos que eso conlleva. Pero es verdaderamente recomendable para urbanitas que quieren aprender algo de la vida bajo las estrellas.
