Guest Reviews
- Vicki (3/5): No hot water, super disappointed. Glad we’d only booked one night. - Location was great, and although a bit tired - it was a nice looking property. We wanted to love this property, but when we arrived there was a cockroach on our bedroom ceiling. The staff member that came to move it just hit it with a brush and then it ran away to another spot in the room and it wasn’t found. We also had NO hot water at all during our stay, and when we let the front desk know that didn’t really seem to care. No urgency to get it fixed, said a plumber would be out the next day…. had to have freezing showers and bath the babies in the kitchen sink, after boiling water on the stove to get some hot water. The bath also did not drain water.
We were told we wound get a refund, but are still yet to receive this!

- Laureen (8/5): Close to everything. Quite. - Cozy cute place.
Small pool. BBQ, washer & dryer.
The Staff. The staff is amazing! EVERYONE of them.

- James (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable room. Great location. Great staff.
- Dylan (8/5): - El Cordova hotel Coronado CA April 2026
♿ Room suite #36
I was a solo disabled traveler and the hotel assigned me an ADA suite which was very spacious but maybe has a few quirks imperfect for everyone. Chiefly the main queensized bed was very high, close to 29". There was a sofa bed, and I chose to sleep on that at ~19" high. Additionally the spacious roll in shower had a distinctly sloped floor for drainage. That made navigating your own chair exactly as you wish for transfers, a little challenging or unstable. Lastly the bathroom sink was lacking adjacent counter space.
Pluses were the full kitchen with a low (lower than the masterbed 😂) countertop and ♿ room under the sink, stove, and prep area. The roomy separate room with the toilet and small sink was a luxury.
Cheers.
- Analilia (10/5): It was the perfect size suite - Loved the Spanish style of the building The parking. We had to park on the street. It wasn’t bad because it was on a weekday but I don’t think I would have the same luck on a weekend.
- Ekaterina (9/5): - Отель удобно расположен, все близко, а главное океан, в Сан Диего нужно ездить на такси Неприятный запах
- Le Thao Nguyen (10/5): -

- Adrian (8/5): -
- Crystal (10/5): Cute close to the Del! - Location Nothing
- Véronique (7/5): - Emplacement de rêve Hôtel dans son jus.
Cuisine vide
Parking payant et impossible de trouver une place une fois qu’on.a payé
- SF (7/5): The El Cordova is a unique space in a great location but it is quirky with many updates needed. The staff is from but ge - I like the location and the unique nature of the hotel. Some rooms need updating.
Room maintenance is sporadic even if asked for.
- Ibe (8/5): -
- Heather (8/5): Overall great cute place, handy for everywhere plus beach, across street from the Del - Pretty, sweet flower tiles in bathroom and kitchen, spacious, airy Steep stairs (16 or so) to our suite. Tricky lugging our stuff up and down!
- Holly (10/5): Super cute hotel, we extended our stay - It’s very cute and comfortable and is walkable to everything
- yungplex (7/5): - Location, location, location which is coupled with a good sized suite. Some portions of room provided in poor repair. Room in need of pest control.
- Lori (6/5): We liked the location - Loved the location. We walked to several great restaurants and shopping The hotel is aged. Rooms were ok, but stairs to rooms were dirty carpet . Needs more maintenance in main and outside areas for cleanliness
- Jeffrey (9/5): -
- Connelly (5/5): - Location My room.the stairs were so steep very difficult to go in and out

- Alex (8/5): - Loved the tiles in the bathroom and loved the location, great area!
- Ricci (8/5): All in all we loved the property and would absolutely stay again. - Location was perfect for all the surrounding areas. Pull out couch was broke, we had a third guest who had to sleep on top of the couch.
- Ana Gabriela (5/5): Is affordable but not worth saving the money for it. Go stay somewhere else. - Location was near everything and close to the beach. Smells like a Mexican restaurant plus all the rooms are turned towards an alley that have noise all night long. The property is very rundown. No parking.
- Joshua (9/5): -
- Tomas (4/5): Nice location in a worn out room - A very good location in Coronado. Room needs an update. Gave the impression of a worn out room. Flakes of paint missing on doors, loose shower controller, not fresh carpets, a lamp not working etc.
- Elizabeth (9/5): -
- John (10/5): -
- Blanca (7/5): - The location is perfect. Our key didn't work at times.Shower head didn't work properly.
The shower strainer was bent and would hurt our feet when we would shower.
- JULIANA (10/5): Nos encantó y volveremos - Todo súper
- Roland (10/5): -
- Donna (7/5): The room was clean and bed was comfortable. This is a huge plus for us. Perfect location. Only two big negatives. 1. Not - Perfect location. Rooms were nice. Trying to find staff. Not enough hotel parking. We had to park on the street and move our car all the time. The spa was cold and no one could find where to turn up the heat. We couldn't find any staff to help. We did find a note that said they'd be back the next day.
- janelle (10/5): A beautiful hotel, great location, comfortable accommodations and affordable rates. - The property is beautiful. The location is perfect… walking distance to the beach and also the shopping area. The onsite restaurant is also very convenient. Nothing. This is my second stay here. I specifically chose this hotel due to the above reasons.
- John (9/5): Location and staff was great! Update a few things and this is even a better properly. Overall, we had a very nice time! - Fantastic location and great staff! Suite bathroom was alittle small and shower did clog but overall it was a nice room.
- Carli (10/5): Clean, convenient with a cool vintage vibe. - Clean, convenient with a cool vintage vibe Would definitely stay again, nothing to complain about.
- Joy (10/5): - Perfectly located by the beach and shops. Nothing.
- Marc (5/5): Location and Miguel’s Cocina are the only saving graces of this property. - Great location near the Del Coronado and the beach and downtown stores. Really run down. Tub and sinks drains barely drained. Pool was closed. Rude staff. Desk clerk went on a half-hour lunch break in the office behind the desk and wouldn’t come out to check us in for 30 minutes! We had 7 adults and a tired 9-month old and we couldn’t get into our rooms and it was 7:00pm.
- Austrebertha (4/5): -
- Carina (10/5): - Super nice accommodation, sweet boutique hotel ! We loved it!
- Ruxandra (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Convenient location on Coronado Island. - We like the location and the look of the hotel, and have stayed there several times before. Our bathroom had a small shower enclosure. More space or a shelf would have been preferable. Otherwise, I like this hotel a lot.
- Karen (8/5): Fabulous location. Walkable to everything. Quiet and calming older inn. Charming! - Perfectly located. Very helpful staff. Clean room. Nice heated pool. Very quiet.Lovely small inn. Would appreciate hot water and tea in lobby. Fresh carpet in the room would be a plus.
- Jonas (10/5): Quaint and relaxing. - The location is perfect. Walkable to restaurants, bars, shopping and the beach.
- White (4/5): -
- Sara (9/5): -
- Kimberly (7/5): - The staff were friendly and the location is perfect. The hotel was incredibly loud. My room was room #20 and was just upstairs from the restaurant and the walls are very thin. I could hear the people in the room next to me at 6:40am talking like they were in the room with me. The noise from the restaurant started in the morning and went till 9:30 or 10pm. The hotel is dated but the bed was comfortable.
- Eve (10/5): - Great location, friendly helpful staff and amazing Mexican restaurant attached
- Christie (6/5): - Location The heater was broken and I pre reserved a roll away which they forgot, but by the 2nd night we had heat and the roll away.
- Linda (10/5): Excellent place and great value. Would highly recommend - The location was excellent! Right across from the beach. Coronado is beautiful. We had a very spacious 2 bedroom suite with a Kitchen. The whole property is super nice and staff was so friendly and accommodating.
- Chelsea (8/5): - Great location. Very charming. Hot tub didn’t get hot.
- Melissa (4/5): It was okay. Wasn’t pleasant to be in the room though - Location, right by the del and the shops. The restaurant downstairs was nice to have They told me it would be $1644 at arrival and then told me it was $2500. They would not honor what they told me and just told me the guy must have said the wrong thing. Not ok, now I am out almost $1000
Also we were supposed to have two rooms and instead we shared a kitchen. It was more like one room. Things were not communicated well to me
The plugs didn’t work half the time
The kitchen was so small it almost started a gas leak because the oven accidentally got turned on
My elderly dad slipped and fell on the rug at bottom of steps
It was dirty. Windows and floors. Bugs in the corner of the room.
I’m so disappointed because we didn’t get what we were supposed to get and I have stayed here for years. I feel like it is so unfair and I wish someone would do something to make it right, or I won’t be back. They also need to work on cleaning and upgrading.

- Carli (10/5): Vibrant Vintage Vibes - Loved the historic, vintage feel of our King Suite. It’s hard to keep old feeling new and they do a great job with that. The room was clean, comfortable and even the shampoo and conditioner was nice. Lots of little extras for toiletries. Great vibe and very friendly staff. Food, shopping, coffee & beach were all right out your door or a 5 minute walk. It’s about a 15-20 minute uber ride to San Diego. We had a picture perfect family vacation during our time in Coronado and at the El Cordova. Nothing to really complain about. A had a little trouble getting ahold of the front desk at times but as soon as I did they jumped right into action. Our room seemed to struggle to stay cold a few nights but it never got uncomfortable.
- Donald (3/5): Will never stay at this property again. Just too old and outdated - extreme vertical stairs to room
- Hilary (8/5): - Location was amazing! There was an older building smell.
- Timothy (8/5): Great location and very reasonable - Excellent location and great Mexican restaurant
- Malena (9/5): - The quaint atmosphere. Being there reminded me of being in a small villa in Italy. The window lock was broken, and the front door did not automatically lock so the door was open the whole time we were out.
- Niki (9/5): -
- Susan (9/5): Historic hotel - very quiet. Easy walking to everything Room was very small
- Kent (7/5): -
- Tama (5/5): - Location was nice First off, the AC was leaking water all over the floor, I was told to shut it off, mind you this was a during an heatwave when it was over 90 degrees outside. The room also didn’t feel clean. Overall I wish we had stayed saved money and stayed somewhere else. Not worth the price at all.
- Jacob (6/5): It was nice but wish accommodations could have been better - Proximity to the beach The place was very outdated and a lot of things were falling apart. Had to request to have the tub drain since the tub kept filling up while taking a shower.
- Dan (8/5): -
- Lisa (9/5): El Cordova Hotel is charming and the staff are excellent. - This hotel is very convenient to the beach, shopping and restaurants. The rooms are sizable and nicely decorated. It felt like a home away from home.
- Candice (5/5): - Stayed here for one night in February 2026, but will not return. The front desk staff and location are both fantastic; A+ for those; in particular, the front desk clerk when we checked in went above and beyond to help us find parking. The room, however, was well below our expectations. We were expecting quaint and reasonably vintage (such as the decades-old window AC unit), but the room was tiny, water pressure in the shower was the lowest ever experienced, shower rod was badly rusted, and the bedding, although clean and comfortable, had a strong, very odd detergent/bleach smell. Courtyard was not wellmaintained and there were piles of rock hard sandbags that interfered with moving luggage. Even by Coronado standards, we considered the room overpriced for what it delivers. They do provide nice toiletries in the bathroom, including a disposable loofah and a Beekman 1810 soap bar.
- Amy (9/5): - Loved the feel of the place. Nice and quiet Nothing
- John (7/5): -
- Hyeseung (8/5): -
- Lanchester (10/5): - The location was amazing. The bed was very comfortable and the decor was beautiful. Love the restaurant.
- Tiffany (10/5): -
- Jacque (8/5): -
- Cynthia (6/5): Pleasant but would ask for a non adjoining room. - Location is excellent. If you have an adjoining room door be aware you can hear the guests in the other room. Street noise isn't too bad at night, everything closes around 9pm. I could smell the popcorn and hear the other room's music.
- Jesica (9/5): -
- West (10/5): -
Keine Entschuldigung. Zimmer sehr einfach, ohne Charme.
- Robert (9/5): -
- Christine (7/5): -
- Mike (10/5): The hotel met all of our expectations - Hotel accommodations were fine. Clean, comfortable, conveniently located All was ok
- Aleksandra (10/5): -
- christian (10/5): - Location, hotel centrality located to all attractions. Cozy villa Parking, very difficult to find parking and hotel parking structures was a few blocks away
- Constance (5/5): - Location No heat in afternoon and night and no plan to fix it until late morning.
- Sabrina (9/5): -
- Willshire (8/5): - Great location. Quirky boutique style made for a unique experience. Free coffee and water available in the lobby. Friendly, cooperative staff. Limited parking. There are only a few hotel spots and we were reluctant to take our rental car anywhere for fear of not finding parking upon our return. We returned our car early and used ride sharing instead. Our room was a little cramped. No place to sit except the bed and on the safe in the closet. Water flow from shower very limited although the hot water temperature was great. Our shower drain cover was bent so afraid to step in it for fear of injury.
- Michelle (9/5): -
- Sabrina (10/5): I was very satisfied with my stay - Location, the restaurants and room accommodations and size of the room Parking
- Solmaz (10/5): -
- Lee (7/5): - We love the location and the style of the hotel. We have stayed here many times and have always been satisfied with our one bedroom. However, this time we were given a small semi one bedroom ( no bedroom door) on the first floor that was apparently for handicapped people, We did not request that and in retrospect should probably asked for a different room immediately. Also, we seemed to be next to a storage area that was used many times, assumably by the restaurant people.
- Gilbert (10/5): Wonderful weather and a 5 min walk to the beaches - Spacious and clean Everything was serviceable
- Omar (9/5): -
- Lorrie (7/5): - The location is awesome. Toliet water ran our entire stay. We had to place the plunger in place to flush toliet. Complained to front desk 3 times . They weren't concerned and made no effort to fix it.
- Kevin (6/5): Confusing layout for room access - Location Parking is a block away
- Sergey (7/5): Great location, dated facilities, good place for a short stay if you just need a place to sleep. - Location was amazing - in the middle of everything, all major restaurants and the beach are within 2 blocks. The property is dated and requires TLS. We stayed in a 2br apartment above the restaurant kitchen, and it had a vibe and smell of an old California apartment which wasn't been renovated in decades. We didn't spend much time inside as there was so much to do in Coronado, so it worked out fine for us, but the place is not nearly as charming as it may appear from the photos.
- Debbi (7/5): Very cute area but not very helpful staff - Location and charm No parking, no assistance with baggage offered
