- Thusi (10/5): Exceptional - A Wonderful Stay at Stone Gate – More Than Just a Place to Stay! We had such a lovely experience at Stone Gate in Katugastota. It’s not a typical hotel – it’s part of the owners’ home, with the ground floor being their residence and the first floor prepared beautifully for guests. This made our stay feel very warm and homely. The owner and their entire family were incredibly welcoming and kind to us throughout our stay. They treated us like friends rather than just visitors. A special mention goes to their adorable husky, Chotto, who added so much joy to our time there! If you're looking for a peaceful, friendly place with genuine hospitality, I highly recommend Stone Gate. It's a place where you feel truly cared for.

- Kody (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the balcony and sitting outside listening to the birds. The area is far from downtown Kandy but I liked it because it was extra peaceful but still close to restaurants and anything I could need. They provided free tea and sugar and dishes to use. The bed was cozy, the room big, and they also had weights to work out with. The owners were also incredibly kind, helpful and hospitable. The electric tea kettle was broken and without hesitation they went out and bought a new one for me and I had it within the hour. I also wanted to do laundry and they offered to arrange it for me at 12:30 but I said I was hoping to have it finished by 12. Next thing I know they hooked up their washing machine just for me which they didn't have to do and would not let me pay extra for the service. I did anyway though because they deserve it. They were also extremely respectful of my personal space even when I was in the common area and when we did speak they were so kind and friendly. Honestly they were my favorite thing about staying here.

The owner was incredibly kind and supportive, making sure all of my needs were met,even going the extra mile to drive me off in kandy.The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The location was also perfect, close to local attractions and with easy access to transport. Overall, I highly recommend Stone Gate to anyone visiting the area. I will definitely be back!
