MTOV (7/5): Cozy place with value for money stay - Location near lagoon and close proximity to town Bad odour from the lagoon and some amenities were not available
Tracey (7/5): We used this place as a pitstop between Haputale and Trincomalee. - We arrived very late (after midnight) and couldn’t get in initially but they were very kind and welcoming when we did. Also when we left they called the tuk tuk driver we went to bus station with and told him we had left a passport - above and beyond!! If staff hadn’t done this I wouldn’t have even realised until we reached Trincomalee. Thank you very much!!
Peter (6/5): An ok cheap stay if on a budget. - Right on the lagoon, decent view form shared terrace , near a couple of restaurants ( get take away) and a mini supermarket and beer shop. 25 minutes to Kallady beach which is nice , clean and ok fir a swim but deep very quickly and strong drag Room basic: beds , decent armchair and small table. Bathroom fine , water not too cold.. lighting is cell like , one very bright bare bulb and room during day quite dark as window is frosted glass. Shared terrace good enough but one family had the 3 other rooms and felt like i was in their terrace. Young man running it fine but speaks and understands no english, absolutely fine but you can’t ask anything. Also no bfast or drinks etc available. Advertised tv doesn’t work. No wifi.

Aaruthra (7/5): Perfect pitstop on our way to Jaffna - The staff is great! They accommodated us with an extra room for our driver. They were able to provide us with multiple recommendations in regards to food spots and special temples to visit during our stay. We even saw some fishermen during their early AM fishing expedition. The beds could have been a bit more comfortable.
Ice Man (6/5): - Lage war sehr gut. Schöner Ausblick von der Terrasse auf die Lagune. Keine Möglichkeit Moskitonetze anzubringen. Beim Auschecken hatte das Personal kein Wechselgeld, Kartenzahlung war aber auch nicht möglich. Zimmer war sehr basic. Internetverbindungen gab es zwei, die beide aber immer wieder keine Verbindung ins WWW hatten.

Brendan (6/5): Faded splendour in a lovely location - Tranquil wonderful view. Very pleasant staff. Okay they plan to do it up but at present there was a leaking ceiling in my bathroom, no hot water (evidently you have to ask for it) and exposed capped electrical wires. Also a brick sized void to the outside letting in mosquitoes which did attack me. Seems harsh but for all of that the location is so pleasant I would stay again (probably).

Kelly (9/5): Wonderful place to stay in Batticaloa! - We lead a wonderful experience at Lagoon Breeze. The terrace has the most beautiful view overlooking the lagoon. A lovely space to spend time and relax. We were worried prior to booking that there may be noise from the bridge, happily we couldn’t hear the traffic at all. Jana our host went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and helped us with everything we needed during our stay. Important to note that there were some negative reviews posted about Lagoon Breeze in the past. Management has changed since these reviews and the staff is working to continually improve and update the property (still in progress).

Dix (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful experience here. The host was very supportive and kind. He helped me locate a bicycle and personally drove me to the bus station in the early morning. The place is near a great cafe/restaurant and a luxury hotel is close by with a pool you can use. Top spot!

Johnportugal (10/5): Fantastic place to stay in Batticaloa directly on the lagoon - Resort was directly on the lagoon,and there was a beautiful cool breeze through the hot time of the day. Anything I needed was provided....I just asked. I was even able to use the fridge. Rooms are spacious and super clean.Resort is super safe and monitored by security cameras . I slept really well,there was no noise to disturb me. I highly recommend this property. It's fantastic value. Fishing and boating is possible also. I liked everything !
Pratiksha (8/5): Clean and good value for money. - Clean and ready for us - we booked last minute so having it available and ready for us was very much appreciated. Even put our driver up in a room too. Owner and very friendly and manager too. Directions to find the pave were dreadful and we waited up to an hour trying to locate it late at night. Also narrow lanes made it quite tight for the diver to get the van through.

Sandirabose (9/5): Superb - I was skeptical that they were new to Booking.com but it was worth the risk. Arul is a very friendly host together with other members of staff. One of them prepared us a typically SL coffee. Wake up in the morning and face the Batticaloa lagoon and the KALLADY BRIDGE. Lovely views. We asked for continental breakfast which was served by the friendly Arul himself. My wife a non-Srilankan loved this hotel. The place is clean and properly maintained. Good quality price value.
