• Felicia (9/5): Superb - Rainbow has everything that you need. Great location at the beach front, restaurant, bar and craft Market on site Friendly and helpful staff. Great value for money. The busiest spot on Paradise beach. The rooms could do with some redecoration and the hot water was hit and miss.

• Linus (7/5): Good - The location right on a rather quiet beach and the presence of deckchairs on the beach that were free of charge was the best part of the stay. Fewer annoying beach vendors on this beach than in most beaches in The Gambia and Senegal. There was quite a lot of rubbish on the beach and the sea water was a bit muddy/dirty. There were ants in the sand. The wifi was very unstable and a bit slow when available. Many staff members spoke English quite poorly. The water pressure in the shower in the room was very low. There was no AC included in the price in the budget double room, just a fan. The mosquito nets in the windows of the room were not intact, although there was an intact mosquito net around the double bed.

• Sandra (9/5): Great beach location with clean rooms, and great food and staff! - All of the staff, save for one, were welcoming and helpful and wonderful. The rooms were tucked away and quiet, especially on the weekdays (there were fun, loud parties happening until late at neighboring properties on the weekend). They were clean and equipped with mosquito nets, soap, and hot water in the evenings. Also, watching the fishermen and watching the wrestling on Sunday were amazing experiences. The food was delicious and affordable, and the beach view and many available beach lounging chairs made it a very relaxing place to be. The rooms didn't have any lockable safes and the windows looked like they'd be easy to break in to. There was no running water in our rooms some of the mornings, but I don't know if I had any accommodation anywhere in Gambia that didn't have plumbing problems. Also, while most of the staff was excellent, the daytime security guy (Jawal?) was trying too hard to be too friendly. As a young woman, I was already dealing with a lot of unwanted male attention, and you'd think the security guards would help keep me safe, but the security guard kept trying to pressure me repeatedly to take gifts from him, even after I made it clear I was not interested. Who's supposed to keep me safe from creeps when the security guy is being a creep? I hope they can hire someone better for the job, because otherwise it was a great place to stay.
• Udo (3/5): One of the worst places we stayed so far. - I guess the beach was ok - if you like endless long ones, which we don’t, preferring small intimate coves. But the surrounding structures and huts were quite run down and decrepit. Also, guys came up to hassle us for business or make advances to my wife. The staff were joking about my name Udo, which to them sounds like “You do” or “don’t”, ha ha, not very professional. The room was very small, furniture basic and partly broken. Swarms of moscitos - to fight them there was a noisy fan with very high speed that gave a chill, so it stayed off. Luckily there was a moscito net. In the morning the water stopped running. The food in the evening was bland and overcooked (noodles). So we didn’t trust the breakfast, but left as early as we could at dawn.

• Dalia (10/5): Exceptional - I have to admit that I booked this place mainly because of the price (18€, as of January 2025) and location - beachfront. But my expectations were exceeded. The food was great, the staff - very friendly, facilities - simple but really comfortable. Loved it! I didn't like that on the second day my breakfast got clearly smaller, even though I chose the exact same option.

Enjoyed our weekend and surely will come back Ac in the room wasnt working. Asked about it and were told that you need to pay extra for ac. We manage without with the standing fan, but bit dissapointed that matter.

• Jasmiina (9/5): value for money for accommodation, eat elsewhere - central location, somewhat private beach, friendly staff, a few wifis around the property, some of the rooms quite big and roomy the ac was extra which is not mentioned well on their booking site, the restaurant wasn’t the best and meal portions were quite small knowing what they usually are like in the gambia (would 1000% recommend salim’s cafe for food!!), hope the staff would clean out the beach out of the plastic at least every now and then, breakfast deal for 300D was ridiculously small portion (again knowing what the portions are in the gambia)

They started to argue with us about booking even thou problem was between them and booking.com Asking more money from us etc. Not even apologized us even mistake was with them. Water was cut off all evening and next morning.
• Razvan (1/5): The Nightmare from Rainbow torture camp - Nothing A place that can make you sick. A disaster. I wouldn't let my dogs live in that place either. Full of lizards in the room that reach through the broken roof, countless mosquitoes. Conditions worthy of the Middle Ages. I would send the owner of that place to prison. Conditions like in a torture camp.
• Naomi (10/5): One Love ❤️ - The accommodation is great right on the beach. Nothing to dislike, WiFi was a little unreliable. A fridge in room would be wonderful to keep water cold.
• Livio (10/5): Beyond exceptional - I felt deeply in love in the place and as a full time Traveller this is something else to all the other accommodations I've stayed in so far. Let me tell you, we are talking about 36 countries over 4 years of constant travelling. Jawla the owner of the place is a special human being, great communicator, with solid values and humanity. I learned a lot from him and I definitely recommend you to check this place out ASAP. His staff is also lovely and they make sure to accommodate every guest's needs and expectations. I checked in for a couple of days and I ended up staying for an entire month and It was really difficult to leave! In conclusion, It felt home more than my actual home! A piece of my heart will be staying in this place! ❤️❤️

• Beata (8/5): Very good - Hotel right on the beach. In the morning you eat breakfast looking at the ocean waves. Simple but clean rooms. Excellent food in the restaurant - fish and seafood outstanding. On Sunday you can watch traditional Gambian wrestling. Very helpful and nice service. There is a Chinese fishmeal factory nearby. When there is a delivery of fish, thick smoke soon comes out of the factory, the air stinks, and production waste is released into the water. They catch several tons of fish every few days. Sometimes hundreds of dead fish are thrown into the ocean. Huge environmental devastation and loss for the area and its inhabitants. I feel very sorry for them. Fishermen have poor catches, tourism suffers, and residents endure periodic stench and pollution. I know the locals are trying to fight back. A few years ago they tried to burn down the factory. Many people were arrested. The Chinese factory is still operating - without filters, sewage treatment plants. The robbery economy continues.

• Petitstours (9/5): Good time on the beach - I liked that the hotel is directly on the beach and there is no unsolicited attention present on it.  We didn't see other resort so close to the ocean in the area, which is a very good value for the money. The staff is very friendly, helpful and available.  We felt important to them.  The room and resort area is kept very clean.   Improvements are made every day without causing trouble to the customers. The proximity of the fishing village provides visual entertainment without disturbing the peace.  Very friendly (and quiet) people there too. Since the resort is kept so clean, I was suprised that the beach is not. It is not that bad though and it's the global circonstances result.   Being so close to the fish factory can be a bummer too, for some people, when the wind is blowing on the wrong side. It doesn't happen often so this is not a reason to overlook all the positive aspect of the place.

I stay in the room all n - Staff are okay but the place is bad The place is very small and is very hot and I paid for full service’s which I don’t have lack of electricity can’t sleep all night

The chef is exceptional (thanks for the fish sandwiches). I'm not surprised by the level of service because the owner (Jawla) sets the standards. I was there for a ' working Holiday' but I'm honestly glad I stayed at Rainbow 🌈. Thank you guys for the wonderful memories! Definitely coming back. If you have reliable transportation, then this place is perfect.

• Watts1993uk (6/5): Would not go again - Most of the staff were very friendly. Nice Beach. They do not make it clear enough on booking.com that apparently it's an extra charge of D500 per night for air conditioning. Even so this should be mentioned when checking in. Not wait until you start to use it then demand more money. The air conditioning was not even very good. Certainly not worth an extra £6.50 per night. I feel this is a money making extra for them, which certainly is not worth it or up to standard. The shower has "hot water" function, but never had any warm water.
• Peter (8/5): Enjoyed stay, would stay again - Good English breakfast for 350 dalassi, right on the beach, happy staff, long beach, watch the boats going out and coming in with their catch. Good size room with hot water shower. Cheer full staff. Room has no security, you can lock the door but there are about 2 or three windows that just slide open, no locking on them. There are security people who do walk about.

• Czdana (7/5): Great stay next to the beach - The location is wonderful. Right on the beach and the workers are nice. Sang was very attentive, polite, friendly and kind. He always wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. He answered questions I had about the area and was the perfect worker. I hope to see him working there in the future when we return. The value for what we paid for was good. It was so nice to have air conditioning and a fan in the room. The bathroom door in our room could not close, it always wanted to stay open. It's nice to have privacy when you go to the toilet and it was very hard to do so when the door would not shut. We always had to put something heavy behind the door to close it. We could not get wifi in our room, which was really annoying. We had to stand outside in 1 area to get it and often would get bit by mosquitoes while catching the wifi. Also the ants made such a mess every morning next to the door.
