• Emma Ramos (8/5): Muy tranquilo, perfecto para desconectarse - Bañarse era casi imposible, el sistema de regadera es algo que definitivamente tienen que arreglar porque para que saliera un poqutio de agua tocaba hacer un gran esfuerzo.

• ANNA (7/5): Si buscas relajarte y no hacer nada es tu lugar - Estuvimos en la habitación privada, la cama era cómoda y las vistas al mar son muy buenas. Se fue la luz en varias ocasiones, por lo que los ventiladores dejaban de funcionar y hacía muchísimo calor. No incluyen desayuno y teniendo en cuenta el precio que pagas debería incluir algo más El baño es compartido con el resto de huéspedes Supuestamente tenía actividades de yoga y otras, las cuales no tenían. Si te gusta el surf es tu lugar, sino te gusta no hay más que hacer.

• Hisham (9/5): great stay, I would stay again and recommend it to friends - The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was directly on the beach, and the vibe was chill. not sure
• Katie (10/5): Slice of heaven. - My favourite place to stay in Colombia. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, especially Joyanita. The surf instructor Christian was amazing, knew the spot really well and was very helpful with picking the waves. The dorms were comfortable and clean. 10/10 place, vibe was unmatched, would come back here in a heartbeat.
• Maya (8/5): Very good - Dorms were a good size, bed super comfy and the mosquito nets gave a bit of privacy. Each bed had a locker, there were fans in the room and never got too hot as the big bay windows were always open. Good selection and quality of boards from the surf school at a decent price. Selection in the cafe was pretty limited, and it shuts at 1pm. Also wasn’t the most social, but might’ve just been when we were there!

• Samantha (10/5): Amazing place to stay! - Beautiful place to stay! All the dorm rooms are super comfortable and have amazing views. The surf lessons were super fun and all the staff are very helpful. I only booked 1 night and ended up staying for 2 weeks 😂

The location is unbeatable, right in front of a stunning beach where you can enjoy views and relax to the sound of the waves. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, thanks to the friendly staff and volunteers who are always ready to help with a smile. If you're into surfing, you'll love that they have surfboards available so you can make the most of the waves. The beds are super comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep after a day full of adventure. All in all, this is a place that perfectly combines natural beauty with top-notch service—I highly recommend staying here!

• Esteban (8/5): Very good - Right in front of the sea in a small surf enclave with a lot of tiny restaurants Im not much of a hostel fellow. The room was too small. Didnt have AC. And it could be cleaner. The thing is that its right on the beach so its hard for it to be neat and tidy
• Priska (7/5): I propably would choose another stay next time. - Directly at the beach with see view. No kitchen no fridge to use, the bed was not very comfortable but was alright. The camp is not very social. I heard that it is quite difficult to do some activities because the chef has many thought why it is not possible to do, but a salsa class doesn’t need much in my opinion or some drinking games. Besides that is the hostel not save. You have a small locker but everyone can walk in and out of your dorm. When you let something around it gets stolen. I let my shampoo in the shower and it got stolen. The boss was not very polite when I said that and said it is my fault because I let it there. Not very costumer friendly.

The beach is beautiful and great for some time off the big cities🌞The hostel is super clean and has a great common area to meet people! And especially the staff from both the hostel and the surf school are amazing! would definitely recommend staying here!!
• Brogan (10/5): The ideal - The location is amazing, right in front of the beach with the balcony opening out onto the ocean. Great place to unwind, surf and recharge. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I was injured by a rogue surfer on my lesson and they could not be more caring and helpful to ensure I was okay. Highly recommend if you’re considering passing through Mendihuaca. The shower pressure wasn’t great but nothing that can’t be overlooked for a relaxing beach stay.

• Allison (7/5): Everything was great besides Cynthia. - Cynthia was so rude. The day after my stay she would not allow me to buy water and then proceeded to ask me to leave the premises. Not very social and definitely dont try and go back there if you’d checked out because you will endure the wrath of Cynthia. The most strict and stingy hostel Ive stayed at in South America.

• Silvana (8/5): Great place to stay and would recommend it. - Loved the location and the view from your balcony. You literally get to see the beach right in front of you, and listen to the waves at night. Very grateful for the mosquito net as well. The staff also very friendly and they all speak english, which is a plus. The private room doesn’t have a private bathroom. The shared bathroom was fine, clean and spacious… Is just that I assumed we will have a private bathroom, so it was a bit disappointing. However, seeing the beach from your balcony was worth it.

• Hannah (8/5): I kept extending my stay as it was a great place to relax - Mendihuaca is a special place which still feels quite hidden. The location on the beach was wonderful, particularly dorms at the front looking out to sea. Everything felt new. Mosquito nets were good, relaxed atmosphere, nice to have surf school linked. Compost loos are a good idea! The roof terrace could be a great feature with furniture. The main seating area downstairs is very basic, not very cosy/welcoming. Should link with a local restaurant/cafe for breakfast deals. Guests to be able to use the kitchen. Reception volunteers need more training to answer questions about local area to guide guests - very friendly but they didn’t know much. Need to sort the low number of toilets and showers which are functional.

• Mariana (7/5): Not a surfcamp - Reception staff was really nice 🫶🏽 I believe her name was Cynthia from Argentina and she was extremely nice. View was great and it was always clean. As the name is “Mendihuaca Surfcamp” I was expecting a surfcamp but it was merely a hostel with a surfing school downstairs. To my point of view, it was quite expensive for what they offer. The hostel didn’t have a kitchen so we had to eat out everyday, also, there’s no place to chill and relax or meet people, so it was hard to meet the other guests. None the less, the main problem is that my expectations were too high and not that the hostel is bad or staff was rude, they were very kind.

• Millard (10/5): Picture perfect paradise! - Mendihuaca is such a beautiful hostel! It is in the perfect location, right on the beach with the surf school attached and delicious restaurants next door. The staff are lovely and made me feel at home, and everything is cleaned to perfection! I booked for 2 nights and stayed for 5!

The hostel has a super chill vibe, the dorms are very functional and my favorite part was the rooftop to read and relax. the surf classes are really nice and the teacher absolutely lovely, kudos to Joel ! it would have been great to have some sunbeds to be able to relax outside
• Ailish (10/5): Peaceful beachside accommodation. - Lovely relaxed setting in an area of the beach that is still pretty undiscovered by many tourists. We felt like we had found a hidden gem. The local bars & restaurants nearby are very reasonably priced and we felt we had everything we needed for our few beach days.

• Divya (10/5): cute place - new hostel, very clean and eco friendly. loved the aesthetic. staff is very helpful and you can’t really complain when you wake up to the sound of crashing waves :) no complaints about the property at all. 10/10 experience w the staff too! but the beach strip it is located on seems artificial and unauthentic so didn’t love the overall vibe of the area.
