• Elisabeth (7/5): Good resort but little privacy - Nice facility at the beach. Great outdoor pools and atmosphere I had a suite with private pool, however there’s not much privacy. People cross in front of the window, trying to engage in conversations, security guards are sitting directly at the pool. It’s not for someone who wants quiet and privacy. But for someone who wants to socialize it’s a good place.

• Chris (5/5): - Schöne Anlage. Man gibt sich Mühe sie zu pflegen. Personal freundlich. Die Möbel etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Leider fehlen teilweise hier und da Lichtquellen 🫤🤷🏼‍♀️ . Es wurde täglich das Zimmer gefegt und gewischt. Die Pools wurden täglich gesäubert. Wenn man einen Wunsch hatte wurden der umgehend erfüllt 🙂 Wir würden das Hotel weitere Empfehlen. Was ich noch empfehle Ist die Poco Loko Bar in der Nähe ( mal auf Google Maps schauen) Tolle Musik. 👍🏼😊 Zu wenig Licht besonders im Badezimmer. Der Strand leider teilweise nicht sauber. Tonscherben und Glas-Scherben. Hier und dort war Müll 🙁 die Sonnenliegen waren leider auch teilweise schmutzig.. Die männlichen Bedienungen waren auf Zack 👍🏼 die weiblichen leider etwas unmotiviert 🤷🏼‍♀️🫤 Das Essen im Hotel war okay !
• Marc (8/5): Vakantie Balafon mei 2026 - Rustig gelegen, aangepast voor rolstoelen. 1 personeelslid (Muymanu)van het restaurant was zeer brutaal, onvriendelijk en zeker niet behulpzaam. Speciale verdiensten voor Yusupha, Lamin oude en Lamin grote. Alledrie werkzaam in het restaurant. Zij waren zeer behulpzaam. Ook speciale verdienste voor Sainey, housekeeping.

Il personale è fantastico: gentilezza, disponibilita’ empatia e cura del cliente sono la norma. Il ristorante fornisce un menu’ vasto accurato e a prezzi contenuti, tutti gli ambienti sono puliti, ben arredati e accoglienti. Questo è per me uno dei migliori hotel in cui abbia soggiornato, il rapporto tra la qualita’ dei servizi offerti e il prezzo pagato è molto conveniente. Consiglio vivamente questo hotel a chiunque.

The view is priceless. - A beautiful, quiet hotel by African standards, with a beautiful beach, the sound of the ocean, and a beautiful view. Breakfast was good, and the menu was delicious. We debated for a long time between the Senegambia, Balafon, and Tamala hotels. We don't regret our choice. We highly recommend them. The water in the pool could be warmer.

• Binu (4/5): The room is too expensive for the quality provided. - The total ambience and food is really nice The rooms are below average, there is no door for the toilet, and a bad odor is coming from it. The rooms also look very poor, especially the floor.
• Jean-Mi66 (8/5): - La situation sur la plage, l'ambiance calme et reposante de l'hôtel, la chambre spacieuse avec un balcon donnant sur la piscine, le petit restaurant. L'hôtel est un peu défraîchi, l'entrée et une partie des logements devraient être rénovées car la première impression en arrivant n'est pas favorable. L'éclairage de la salle de bain est beaucoup trop faible (manque de lumière).
• Rick van Kempen (8/5): Geweldig verblijf met super personeel en top locatie! - Zeer net resort, personeel is geweldig! Vooral de schoonmaak (Badou!) en horeca staff. Dat hebben ze ook gedaan. Ontbijt is top! En de huisjes naast het zwembad zijn heel net, mooi gelegen, dichtbij het strand. Kamers kunnen best verschillen, hebben voor een kamer gevraagd of we konden switchen omdat die echt stuk minder netjes was. Soms wat lastig communiceren met de receptie.

• Karin (8/5): Friendly staff, nice hotel, and great location — just a shame about the overbooking incident. - What we did like about the hotel was the property itself and especially the friendliness of the service staff, who were always very kind and helpful. The bungalows around the pool area and by the beach are very spacious, clean, and nicely designed. We also appreciated that security was always present at the beach, which made us feel safe. The Wi-Fi worked reasonably well throughout our stay, and the breakfast buffet offered a good variety of choices. The location is also very convenient, within walking distance of the Serrekunda/Senegambia area, many local restaurants, and the craft market, which made it easy to explore the area without constantly needing a taxi. We had booked two oceanfront bungalows with private pools through Booking.com. When we arrived at 2:30 a.m., we were told the hotel had been overbooked and that only one bungalow in that category was available. I was initially told I could move into the room I had booked after two days, but the next morning reception informed me this would not be possible until a later date, so I was given a bungalow a bit further back without pool instead. In the end, the bungalow itself turned out to be perfectly fine, and we realised that a private pool was not really necessary. Still, what was frustrating was that there seemed to be a constant change of guests in the oceanfront private pool bungalows during our stay, including the one next to my friends. Since we stayed for two weeks, it was difficult to understand why no solution could have been found. I understand that overbookings can happen, but unfortunately I did not feel the situation was handled honestly. The airport transfer was also overpriced. We paid €40 expecting a private transfer, but another couple from our flight was sharing the ride, meaning the hotel received €80 for one short transfer. Had we known it was shared, charging each couple half would have been fairer. For comparison, on our return we arranged our own private late-night transfer and paid 2000 Dalasi including a tip.

Las tortillas del desayuno, muy ricas y el pollo al curry también, aunque el arroz un poco duro y muy difícil separar algunos trozos.. El bisab de bienvenida se agradece mucho. Muy bueno. Había veces que el agua no salía y teníamos que esperar un rato (15') a qué saliese el agua de la ducha. La comida, había que muy bien y había que muy mal, langosta muy hecha, seca, una carne dura de cortar y por supuesto de masticar. El buffet libre del desayuno bien, aunque sin opciones libres de gluten, no había café descafeinado.

• Magali (6/5): - De locatie, zicht op zee. Goed onderhouden zwembad. De foto tijdens het boeken kwam totaal niet overeen met de eigenlijke accomodatie waar we verbleven. Bij hierover aanspreken, ging men hier niet op in. Gevraagde 3e bed was een pover 'reisbedje' waar de metalen veringen duidelijk voelbaar waren, na veel aandringen werd een 2e matras opgelegd. Geen muskietennet voorzien. De kamer was vuil, vooral de badkamer!

• Valentin (5/5): Décevant pour un resort. - - La proximité avec la plage. - Le WI-FI médiocre, - La sympathie du personnel, - Piscine de notre chambre inutilisable car, à l’ombre et donc l’eau froide, - La sonorisation des chambres et l’occultation des tentures, - La pression de la douche était honteusement faible, - Pas de porte pour les toilettes, merci les odeurs.., Pour conclure, le rapport/qualité prix est fortement à revoir.

Store rom med havutsikt og egen pool. Veldig hyggelig personale i restauranten, strandgutta og de som stelte rommene. Shabby og dårlig vedlikeholdt! Dette hotellet kunne vært en perle dersom eier hadde investert i oppgradering av stedet!Veldig dårlig trykk i dusjen, nesten umulig å få skylt ut sjampo av håret. Sette inn dør mellom badet og rommet, det er lite hyggelig å høre romkameraten sitte på wc….

Das Zimmer war TOP und jeder Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich (ausser der Manager, der stand über allen). Kann das Hotel nur empfehlen. Gute Lage am.Strand lang geht es zum Touri Zentrum. Man ist schnell überall. Der shuttle Service ist mit 40€ zu teuer! Sonst hat alles gepasst!

• Marit (7/5): Tilbakemekding på Belafon hotell - Perfekt beliggenhet ved stranden, god frokost. Fint uteomeråde rundt bassenget. De fleste av betjeningen var imøtekommende og blide. Mindre pent inngansparti og resepsjon. Slitte rom, behov for oppgradering. Dårlig trykk med vann i dusjen, noen ganger var det ikke vann i det hele tatt, verken dusj, toalett eller vasken.

• Gerard (4/5): décevant! ne correspond à un standard minimum. je changerai d'hôtel au prochain voyage - Petit déjeuner et jolie cadre au bord de mer Tout le reste: hôtel vieillissant, équipements (TV clim...) anciens ne marchant pas, eau au compte goutte, fenêtre et porte fenêtre avec serrures rouillées, ne fermant pas ou mal, tout est vieux dans la chambre, peu de lumière, personnel pas toujours attentif à la demande, 30 minutes pour avoir un plat au restaurant.....rapport qualité prix pas bon Les photos sur booking sont loin de la réalité

• olivier (8/5): il y a du potentiel, mais il y a du boulot..... - hôtel un peu Veillot mais plutôt joli. très belles piscines bien entretenues, même les petites. plage très belle. organisation sur la plage un peu difficile. chambres spacieuses mais non entretenues sérieusement, wifi , télé. Partie plomberie parfaite, partie électrique à revoir, câblages, prises de courant, éclairages... Salle de repas, mal éclairées ( certaines tables sont presque dans le noir )et bâches noires , sales et déchirées pour protéger du vent ( a revoir ). bar et resto , personnels très gentils mais un peu chaotiques , dans l'organisation du service. petit déjeuner très bien. menus repas simplistes et minimalistes. apéros ok sauf que pas de cacahuètes ( niama niama) Vins, moyens en qualité et très chers . Dans les restos d'a coté, moitié prix. musique d'ambiance trop forte... Réception très sympa, et disponible. voir ci dessus. Evitez d'arriver un dimanche...

Beach and swimming pool furniture generally available, despite the atavistic custom of some northern-European customers of using their towels to reserve at 08:00 sun chairs that they do not intend to use until 12:00 or later... Very good size of the room, in my case with fantastic direct views of the beach. Very nice balcony with deck chairs. Personnel in general courteous, but in some cases attention to customers can be improved (for instance, restaurant staff at dinner time). Expensive airport transfers. Room furnishings lacking, eg a luggage rack, drawers for clothing, a chair for working at the desk, towel hangers. Lighting insufficient. Breakfast quality could be improved (for instance, variety of fresh fruit). And, above all, room rate too high for the quality. Cleanliness of the beach OK but can be improved with little effort. No gluten-free options at restaurant.

• Hannah0781 (10/5): Our 3 day perfect stay at BALYON HOTEL - So we had the room which had its own private pool with our next door neighbour. The room was even better in real life than the pictures on Booking.Com,the bed was really big as I'm from the UK so I don't have a queen size bed at home. It was so comfortable lovely and clean extra pillows that I asked for and you get a mosquito net all tied round the four poster for night times. The bathroom was lovely and clean with a good sized shower and a large rainfall shower head, only thing I would say is it would have been nice to have a smaller shower head as well that was movable so I didn't have to get my hair wet and to also clean myself in places alot easier. The air-conditioning was working and there was also a large fan above the bed for good circulation of the air round the room. We did try to use the t.v once but that was so much harder than we thought it would be so we ended up turning it off. All the staff were very helpful, happy and knew if you wanted something it would be handled. It could be a little chilly at night not too much but we were literally next to the beach and we went Jan 2nd - 4th 2026 but I would definitely love to return to this relaxing tranquil setting. There was a lovely mixture of foods for breakfast such as toast, porridge, fresh fruit, small selection of pastries and then a chef who could cook you omelette, pancakes and I suppose any other little hot breakfast items you would request. The only problem we did have and so did many other taxis and friends we had that collected us for days or nights out, was that the sign for the hotel was so so small and yet there is plenty of space at the front of the hotel to get a sign saying the BALYON HOTEL. Trying to find the hotel due to the small sign post at waist height saying BALYON HOTEL. Only having a rainfall shower head needs another shower attachment to clean my hair and body properly. The water pressure is not great but it's not like a massive problem. It would have been nice to have extra soap by the sink as I like to clean my hands regularly. The curtain to the bathroom could be changed maybe to like some wooden shutters it just ruins the look because the curtain is not put up properly and can fall down easily, but again it's not a massive problem but some people prefer to have privacy when going to the toilet.
• Michelle (8/5): Top verblijf in een heerlijk knus hotel - Fijne knusse accommodatie met zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Eten super, airco werkte heel goed, stroom viel nauwelijks uit, wifi goed. Echt Afrikaans hotel en dus het onderhoud in de kamer is niet zoals we in Europa zijn gewend. Dit is echter in geheel Gambia zo. Waterdruk is wel echt heel laag waardoor je lange haren wassen echt en uitdaging is.
• Milena (7/5): Comfortable Beachfront Stay with a Few Minor Inconveniences - The hotel is comfortable, good value, and right on the beach, perfect for relaxing. Our room was spacious, very clean, quiet, with air conditioning, a mosquito net, and a nice balcony. The location is peaceful, away from traffic, yet within walking distance of several restaurants. Breakfast was included and decent. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool is pleasant (not heated), Wi-Fi worked well, and hawkers didn’t disturb too much. Running water was unavailable in the room at least once daily, and no hand soap was provided. On one night, very loud music from a nearby wedding at Djembe Hotel continued until around 2 am without prior notice. We had an early-morning activity planned and would have appreciated advance warning, as we could have rescheduled if we had known in advance.

• andreas (5/5): Muss man nicht machen für das Geld - Lage Das Personal an der Rezeption war überfordert mit unserer Bitte um Verlängerung,wir mussten 4 x zur Rezeption,vorher hiess es alles muß über Booking laufen. Hier wurde nicht gelächelt. Dreckige Handtücher werden mitgenommen,es gab aber keine neuen,Badezimmer-Mülleimer mit Toilettenpapier wurden nicht entleert, nicht geputzt, nur Bett gemacht(echt unwichtig)
• Meike (10/5): - Wunderschöne Anlage mit traumhaftem Strand. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit eigenem Pool und direktem Strandzugang. Ein Traum! Auch das Essen war super und Abends gab es sogar tolles Programm mit Musik und Tanz. Rundherum ein toller Aufenthalt!

• ester (4/5): AGRIDULCE - Lo hermoso que es el hotel, que se puede accedir a la playa a través de el, la amabilidad de todos los que trabajan allí menos el responsable y gerente del hotel que es un maleducado de manual, las habitaciones son preciosas y las que dan a la playa con piscina mucho más. reservé una habitación con piscina privada la cuál estaba sucia y tuvimos que movernos a otra habitación ya que tiraron productos para intentarla limpiar i obviamente no se podía hacer uso de la misma durante 24 horas. a todo este el responsable del hotel fué muy maleducado a la hora de devolvernos la diferencia de precio de lo que habíamos pagado. La mayoría de las noches en el restaurantes del hotel no había ni pescado ni ternera...

• Concorde (5/5): - The hotel is nicely located and the beachside is very quiet and enjoyable. Few things that need improvement: - For the price being charged, TV and phone should work. I also thought the AC didn’t fully work since however low you put it and leave it on for hours the room temperature is never fresh enough, you really have to be where it’s pointing to fill it. - mosquitoes and spiders in the room, repellents can be used - there could be umbrellas available so we can easily move from room, restaurant or reception as it’s the rainy season. Also there was about $50 difference between the amount charged to my card and the amount deducted from my account! They may be using a payment gateway that takes a high percentage!? They failed to explain and referred me to my bank. However no such big difference was reflected on other payments using the same card in Gambia.

Bâtiments délabrés, Réceptionniste pas du tout accueillant, Femme de ménage qui vient nous interpeller pour savoir à quelle heure nous devons libérer la chambre.....

• Matthew (7/5): Make sure to get a room facing the beach - I had a 2nd floor room facing the beach and ocean so that was a big plus. I definitely wouldn’t have liked my room as much if I didn’t. The rooms are big and spacious, the main pool and beach is nice, and the staff is friendly. It’s a little bit out of the crazy zone of Senegambia, which I liked. A 15min walk gets you there when you want that. With some modern updates this place could be a really nice property. It’s outdated and could use some work. Especially the front desk and reception area. I thought my counters were dirty upon arriving, but it was just bubbled up and stained. All not a big deal for a single guy like me, but…

• Uta (8/5): Aber ein tolles Hotel mit einem sehr guten Frühstücksbuffet und tolles Abendessen zur Auswahl. - Ferienhäuser mit den Zimmern waren außergewöhnlich. Innenausstattung sehr schön. Pool nicht weit weg und sehr schön. Lage sehr schön und der Strand war toll. Zimmer OG mit Meerblick sehr zu empfehlen, allerdings natürlich keinen eigenen Pool . Zimmer UG haben einen eigenen Pool. Pool war abends ab 19 Uhr zu, was sehr schade war. Wir waren im August dort und mein Mann bzw erwachsener Sohn wären auch gerne mal abends oder spätabends rein gegangen.

• Lyazidi Hicham (2/5): Un vrai cauchemar - La plage et la sympathie de Aziz à la réception Chambre vue sur mer avec un grand Cocotier devant le balcon qui cache toute la perspective, eau de la douche et toilettes souvent en arrêt! Télévision ne marche pas pendant les 3 jours de notre séjour, internet souvent en panne, personnel pas du tout professionnel et agressif, notamment la fille de la réception très hautaine et mal polie, le petit déjeuner est déplorable, bouteilles d'eau distribuées que le 1er jour, pas d'entretien journalier des transat de plage, les ouvriers que font que discuter et jouer sur leur téléphones pendant toutes la journée: on sent une vraie absence de rigueur et du sens de management chez l'ensemble du personnel. J'ai donné les 2 points pour le potentiel du Resort qui peut mieux être géré et exploité! Malheuresement ce n'est pas le cas aujourd'hui; Et c est dommage, car nous sommes venus de loin éblouit par les photos sur booking, mais la réalité est blessante!!!!

• Pierre-Alain (8/5): Je garderai de la Gambie un bon souvenir. Je pourrais y retourner mais sans passer par le Sénégal. - Le petit-déjeuner était très bien. La plage est très belle et l'emplacement est vraiment bien, c'est-à-dire au calme mais assez proche des distractions nocturnes. La piscine liée à la chambre et la vue mer était bien. J'ai beaucoup aimé les alentours. Pas très de l'hôtel, il y a même un casino. Le personnel n'est pas très réactif mais bon, on est en vacances. Le personnel a tendance a maltraité les pauvres cahts errants qui viennent demandé un peu de nourriture aux moments des repas. L'hôtel, comme toute la Gambie et le Sénégal, feraient bien de s'inspirer de la politique adoptée dans les hôtels turcs avec les chats sans maître (ils leur offrent gîte et nourriture) et c'est top. Ceci dit, la clientèle d'origine d'Afrique de l'ouest et subsaharienne que j'ai pu observer dans l'hôtel n'a aucune empathie pour les animaux. C'est très dérangeant ! J'aurais aimé pouvoir bénéficier d'une pension complète et pas seulement d'une 1/2 pension et même pourquoi pas d'un tout inclus. Bien que cela n'ait rien à voir avec l'hôtel, les nombreux checkpoint de police dès qu'on sort de l'hôtel assez souvent pénibles, car il faut non seulement chaque fois s'arrêter avec le véhicule et payer discrètement la liberté. Même si ça n'est pas très cher, la démarche est "pénible". J'ai vu pas mal de jeune fille le soir essayer de se vendre: pas top du coup !
