• Peter (10/5): We were able to relax and recharge here. - The home is spacious and beautifully designed. The grounds are tranquil and bountiful with flowers and natural beauty. The garden tomatoes were outstanding as well as the oven warm bread crafted by Alexis. Loved seeing the Blue Heron perch by the pond, the turtles and frogs, the birds, hummingbirds and butterflies. Resident Great Danes Leah and Atlas were lovely co-hosts. Sitting furniture was not super comfy. Intense presence of mosquitoes

We loved the stylish finishings, the spotless cleanliness, and especially the outdoor fire pit area. Alexis and Hamish are wonderful hosts who clearly take pride in making this place special. Thistle Pond is a hidden gem in coastal Maine—quaint, quiet, and peaceful with a lovely outdoor pond and even fresh veggies from the garden. The location is perfect, just 4 minutes from the beach. The thoughtful touches really stood out: local treats and fresh bread on arrival, plus a chalkboard full of excellent recommendations (even tide times!). The owners have truly thought of everything to make guests feel welcome. We can’t wait to come back! NA
• Charles (10/5): Outstanding - It was an absolute pleasure staying at Thistle Pond Cottage in Biddeford, Maine, for our daughter’s graduation from UNE. From the moment we arrived, Alexis and Hamish made us feel incredibly welcome. Their hospitality went above and beyond—Alexis’ homemade bread and the thoughtfully curated welcome basket were such warm, personal touches. The cottage itself was immaculate, beautifully designed, and tastefully decorated. We especially appreciated the personalized chalkboard greeting our group and offering helpful insights about the surrounding area—it made settling in so easy. And we can’t forget the joy of playing with their 8-month-old Great Dane! Watching a dog that size get the zoomies was an unforgettable highlight—pure joy in motion. Thank you, Alexis and Hamish, for creating such a memorable and heartwarming stay. We’ll cherish the experience and hope to return someday! If only the weather were better, but that's Maine in May.
• Sandra (10/5): Lovely cottage away from the hustle and bustle of Kennebunkport yet close enough! - We enjoyed our two-night stay at Thistle Pond Cottage. The cottage was very tastefully appointed and comfortable, great shower, comfortable beds, and a well-stocked kitchen. We ate lobsters in one night and the hosts were helpful in suggesting where to get them. The welcome book was very informative and offered many suggestions on dining and local activities. Being pet friendly was helpful to us and the dogs enjoyed their stay as well! More seating in the living room area would be helpful as the couch only seats three comfortably. Since the cottage is pretty new I presume they are still working on this!
