Guest Reviews
- David (9/5): - Lovely hotel and friendly staff Room a little small but comfortable
- Annabel (7/5): Pleasant stay but a bit overpriced in my opinion. - The hotel is situated in a picturesque setting and the interior and exterior is really lovely. I was left delicious shortbread in the room and found it to be a fairly quiet location despite my room facing the road. The bed was very comfortable, especially the pillows and I loved the decor in the bathroom. I had beautifully soft towels to use and I requested an iron a few days prior which was there when I checked in, which I was grateful for. Although breakfast was a bit slow (it was very busy), I wasn’t in a rush so this was fine and the restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was really nice. Bar staff were also really warm and chatty when I had a drink in the garden with friends. Good location for a wedding I was attending nearby. When I arrived, there wasn’t anyone on reception so I had to go looking (overheard someone at breakfast say they hadn’t seen anyone on reception much). Unfortunately my key card didn’t work on the first go so I had to come back down to get this fixed. Neither of these things are a big deal, but I thought an apology and a warmer welcome would have helped as I’d just had a 7 hour journey to get there. I found this receptionist (think she was Aussie) to be quite frosty in general; I brushed it off initially until I had friends witness the same thing the next day and mention it to me despite me not bringing it up. Room was smaller than I was expecting which was ok as it was just me alone but feel it would have been cramped for two people. There was nowhere to hang the towels so it could do with a couple of hooks or a little shelf above the toilet to put things, as the surfaces were limited in both the bathroom and bedroom (coffee machine sits on a bedside table for example). Plugs by the desk can’t be used as they don’t fit, unless you’re just plugging in via a USB cable. I also didn’t find my room to be overly clean - dusty in places and needed another quick vacuum. Overall I had a fairly nice stay and the hotel is stylish, but felt it was overpriced.
- Martin (10/5): Excellent - Great staff and location
- Victoria (10/5): - This is the dream small Scottish hotel. Everything is done so well, the bed and linen are exceptional, bathroom with L'Occitane products is just perfect. Welcome home made shortbread, excellent Nespresso with lots of pods and milk supplies. The outdoor bar is just lovely and I spent lots of time there as we had gorgeous weather. Properly dog friendly too. Food standards really high with everything I had more than meeting high expectations. The team of staff are super friendly and helpful. I found this to be one of the best hotels I have stayed in Scotland :relaxed luxury done perfectly. Location is also superb with local bus service on the street for visiting nearby attractions. Cannot recommend highly enough! Nothing
- french (10/5): I come from a land down under! - The staff, especially the aussie girl she was really sweet
- french (10/5): I come from a land down under ! - The staff, especially the aussie girl she was really sweet

- Rachel (8/5): Nice stay. Very comfortable, great location - Everything was very good quality - lovely little touches of luxury. Nice atmosphere and very comfortable. Lovely location A bit disappointed with the service in the bar but generally staff very nice and friendly
- Ian (4/5): Clean, modern but overpriced hotel in a convenient part of Aberlady. - Location very convenient on the main street in town, yet rooms in the back were quiet. Fortunately we only stayed one night. No one at front desk for check in. Took me 20 minutes to hunt someone down. The tiny carpark was full, as was the street in front, so we had to park a few blocks away. Room, though clean and modern, was tiny and confining; more like a cell. Overpriced for what it provided.
- mark (10/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): Lovely hotel in ideallic location - Nice room.
Staff were very good.
Modern and clean.
Food very good.
Nice location. Room a bit small.
Lighting in room, not as good as it should be.
Hotel has a lot of golf parties, which clashes with couples perceptions.
- Viktorija (10/5): -
- Sam (8/5): Very comfortable but a little overpriced. - Beautifully furnished room, comfortable and very high quality amenities provided in the room. Warm welcome. Good selection of quality drinks at the bar, helpful and attentive staff. I thought the rate was a little high for bed & breakfast at this time of year.
- Nick (7/5): -
- Craig (10/5): Friendly staff amazing location - Gorgeous place Proximity to golf courses
- Andrew (9/5): -
- John (10/5): Great relaxing break - Very stylish decor, very friendly staff and a great location The car park needs white lines to mark out the parking bays
- Alison (10/5): Very nice stay, hotel lovely and room very nice. Staff were all very friendly. Lovely breakfast. - Hotel nicely decorated, very modern. No faults with hotel
- Alison (10/5): -
- Nicole (10/5): -
- Morag (8/5): Very pleasant stay, rooms were decorated lovely and all staff very friendly and helpful. - Very well presented rooms and staff were lovely. Bathroom was cold.
- Tom (10/5): - The hotel as a whole. Nothing
- Nicola (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel - The location was fabulous for walks. Especially along to the nature reserve and dunes. The hotel was immaculate with a lovely atmosphere. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We very much enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in the hotel. Excellent menu options and standard of food produced.
Would highly recommend.
- Jean (10/5): -
- Zoe (9/5): Very relaxing with a touch of luxury. - Beautiful hotel in pretty village close to the sea. Staff absolutely superb. Lovely public areas and very good meal (apart from cheeseboard!) Bedroom (Deluxe) was rather cramped especially as we’d chosen more expensive than Cosy or Comfort.)
- Linda (10/5): -
- Joanna (9/5): - Hotel was lovely, only thing that was needed was air con No A/C
- Elaine (9/5): - Beautifully decked out
- Carol (10/5): Very welcoming and comfortable - Everything, the staff were friendly and very helpful.
The bed was comfortable, the food and service excellent Not being on the trainline was difficult for me not having a car and not many facilities in the Villiage
- Paula (9/5): Perfect - Setting/ decor Nil
- Muir (8/5): - The Hotel Room. was beautiful. The bed was so Comfortabke . It was a lovely ambience muted colours and quality furnishings. The lighting in the Bar area did not reflect the rest of the dining room.
There was hardly anyone there so no atmosphere this is not a the fault if the Hotel
and I am, sure at a busy time a great place to go.
- Sandra (9/5): Very relaxing and comfortable - Stayed there before when it was Ducks and it has been totally transformed, beautiful and modern decor, very tastefully done Only thing that wasn’t good is the entrance to the carpark, it’s so narrow and my car sensors were going off so loudly I ended up parking on the main road which wasn’t a problem
- Andrew (10/5): Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and the hotel was comfortable and the food excellent - Everything Nothing
- Kerr (8/5): Staff were very welcoming - Breakfast was excellent
- Naomi (9/5): Great stay. Would highly recommend, food was outstanding. - Lovely decor throughout. Friendly atmosphere, brilliant rooms.
- Steven (8/5): -
- Caitlin (10/5): -
- Judy (8/5): Comfortable stay location ideal for us. - Character property. Ideal location for our stay. Helpful friendly staff. Lack of storage space in room. Breakfast a bit disappointing. Supermarket sliced bread for toast.
- Aimée (10/5): Excellent. - The Leddie has been beautifully renovated, the room and public spaces were clean and tidy. The overall vibe is relaxed and elegance without being stuffy or obnoxious. Great interiors, snuggly but fresh. The staff are excellent and go beyond to take care of the residents. It was our first night away with our baby and we were made to feel so welcome and cared for.
Also, little touches, like shortbread and personalised notes on arrival and a leaving pack of water and shortbread on departure was a really thoughtful and well received touch. n/a
- Verified traveler (10/5): Gem of a hotel - Fabulous stay. Comfortable bed. Great fluffy towels. Lovely staff. Great breakfast to set you up for the day. Restaurant food great too. Would recommend.
- Janet (8/5): -
- Graeme (9/5): Relaxing! - Quiet & relaxing, excellent breakfast and outstanding service from the very helpful staff
- Robert (9/5): Relaxing with pleasant staff - Location was very good. Did not have breakfast Ev charging for my electric car
- James (10/5): Exceptional venue in a lovely location. Brilliant for golf - Excellent hotel throughout.
Staff, setting and all of the rooms and communal areas are exquisite.
Food and drink was also top notch. Could do with some air con, admittedly we stayed on the hottest weekend of the year but it was sweltering.
Breakfast service was very steady, not quite enough team members to cover the volume of diners.
- Josephine (10/5): A restful couple of days in a delightful calm environment - felt cosy and safe. - Superb breakfast and excellent evening menu. Staff exceptionally welcoming, helpful and professional. Lovely calm ambience in a delightful town. Would have liked slightly larger room although room facilities and shower room were first class.
- Swinford (9/5): An amazing experience - It was my first time staying at a hotel ever and it was everything I imagined. Everyone made you feel so welcome and the room and food were incredible. Just that there wasn't much to do in Aberlady itself except the beach, absolutely nothing to do with the hotel!
- Susan (10/5): Excellent would revisit - Very comfortable rooms, great food and excellent service a very nice hotel .
- Pauline (10/5): lovely stay at the Leddie Aberlady - lovely clean friendly hotel in the lovely Village of Aberlady definitely recommend to anyone visiting North Berwick

- Tim (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Fantastic - Amazing experience from start to finish. Friendly staff, lovely room and fantastic food. Will be back for sure.
- Charlotte (10/5): - Fabulous refurb, stayed here about 12 years ago the transformation is absolutely lovely! Stayed in a standard room, which is on the small size but beautifully decorated with everything you need. Particularly liked the L'Occitane toiletries in the stylish bathrooms. The restaurant and casual areas are very stylish, the food, atmosphere and staff were great, and Aberlady is just an adorable quiet location on the doorstep of 22 golf courses, beaches and fabulous walks. What's not to love! Will definitely be back :-)
- Debra (10/5): Relaxing stay with great food ! - Lovely staff
Fantastic food
Coffee machine in room

- Linda (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (9/5): Staff very friendly good food and facilities - Very clean and newly refurbished
- Susan (4/5): Disappointing -
- Peter (7/5): OK for an overnight stay - Modern decor in a basic old building
Nice food
Positive and friendly staff Noisy road right outside room
Lack of noise insulation inside hotel and creaky floors
- David (7/5): Generally the room was just acceptable but the breakfasts were not acceptable. - The hotel had a nice appearace and ambience and was very clean.
The staff were pleasant and helpful.
The bed - once you negotiate your way into the room - was comfortable. The room was smaller than I expected particularly considering the price being charged for the room.
I had to jam my suitcase into a corner on top of the only stool in the room and even then there was not much room to get past the end of the bed. The suitcase could not be placed anywhere else without limiting access and causing a trip hazard.
The breakfasts were a disappointment - on the full scottish breakfast - the bacon was undercooked and on one day was actually cold - the poached eggs had been cooked in a very strong vinegar and were almost inedible - the haggis was dry and crumbly and did not have much flavour.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Mel (8/5): Comfortable stay, but somewhat pricey - Great location, personal welcome message from general manager, high standard of refurbishment.
Chelsea, at breakfast was super friendly and breakfast was lovely. Initially there was a fuss on arrival as receptionist insisted we had not paid, even though we had through booking.com. Despite showing the receipt she would not let it go.
The room was small.
- Claartje (6/5): Pleasant -
- Clare (9/5): Small and perfectly formed - Rooms were comfortable and well furnished with nice amenities
Bed comfortable
Coffee maker and welcome shortbread
Staff were lovely friendly and helpful
Food was good
Farewell pack was a nice touch Car park had very tight access way which meant we parked on the street
Nowhere to hang used towels in one of the shower rooms (room4)
Breakfast service was quite slow on the Sunday - but managed well by the staff
- Caroline (10/5): Relaxing and won - Everything. Wonderful decor, beautiful finishes and effortless chic. Delightful reception on arrival. All staff amazing and helpful. Room lovely. We had a junior suite. Wonderful visit. Dinner was amazing. Definitely be back. N/A

- Foster (10/5): Holiday. - Good food, comfortable room, great ambience in the dining room and beautiful decor. Breakfast selection could have included a cereal, pastries fruit, yogurt buffet.
- Derek (9/5): Superb - Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff.
- Jan (8/5): Really nice place to stay - Breakfast was lovely.
Room was small, but beautifully decorated with a lovely ensuite.
Close to the beach and sea
Live music on the Sunday afternoon in the dining room. Only a small thing, but I couldn't contact reception early evening from my room, so had to get dressed and go downstairs to find someone in the bar.
- David (10/5): Lovely place, but, above all, wonderful staff. - Clean, comfortable, freshly decorated (apparently only opened last summer); fixtures & fittings in excellent order & of the very highest quality; likewise things like linen, shower gel, coffee, home made shortbread in rooms etc. Dinner in restaurant excellent; service efficient, skilful and friendly. Front of house staff welcoming, efficient, friendly & above all, very kind when an older member of our party got into mobility difficulties. Had slightly feared we’d be told, “we’re not insured for this kind of thing” but the staff member (Siobhan) concerned could not have been kinder or more understanding & helpful. Breakfast excellent. The whole thing was a brilliant experience for us. Cannot rate the whole place highly enough. Absolutely nothing.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marguerite (9/5): Great place for a relaxed overnight stay. - Lovely food (both dinner and breakfast) and good service We thought the wine list was slightly overpriced. A bit more comfy seating in the bar area would have helped us relax even more.
- Peter (10/5): - Booked a last minute night away and couldnt fault this beautiful hotel, still very new, room was lovely, food amazing especially the breakfast and staff very helpful & friendly!
Will definitely be back!

- Rebecca (10/5): Excellent little gem - Everything. Excellent service, beautiful hotel, good location Nothing
- Alan (8/5): Only there for one night but well worth the visit. - Hotel only open seven weeks. Room spacious, bed very comfortable. Could do with full length mirror also a chair. safe deposit on ground level -- very difficult to operate if you are elderly.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Food high quality. Breakfast - full Scottish was excellent.
Must be a great asset to the area. Stated in previous answer.
