• Anne (9/5): Ideal after a day at whitby - Friendly staff, ideal location. Spotlessly clean. Well decorated. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Good sized tv. Good biscuits, tea and coffee supplied. Lovely toilteries and good sized bathroom. Heating not sufficient. My partner felt cold a lot of the time. No hot meal available on the evening. Bar not open till 6. No chair in room, or lounge for me to sit and read while my partner was still sleeping.

The room was spotless with a very comfy bed, large tv and plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast was amazing and once again the service was brilliant. I’d highly recommend staying here. A perfect location for visiting Whitby and the North Yorkshire moors and lots of parking!!!
• Carol (10/5): 5***** is not enough for this lovely small hotel! - This small hotel was ideally situated for our short stay, to visit one of the local agricultural shows in North Yorkshire. Everything about Ugthorpe Lodge was perfect - comfort, cleanliness, facilities, parking, freshly cooked breakfast, evening bar on site and especially the really friendly and helpful attitude of Steven and Julie. So much thought has been put into the decoration and organisation of relatively small spaces in the bedrooms and ensuites, to ensure comfort and convenience. Congratulations on providing first class service in every respect - 5***** . With our sincere thanks and warmest wishes, Carol and John Shield. 🤗 Everything was perfect.

• PATRICIA (5/5): Lovely place but no evening meals - It was a lovely place with a small bar which actually caters for the caravan site it is next to. Advertising as a hotel but do not serve evening meals . With it being in a rural position it is hard to find a restaurant.

• Vanessa (9/5): Comfortable stay - The small double room was very clean and well decorated. Overall, the whole property i would say looks very pretty. It was quite tricky to find the location especially at night. During our 1st stay sat nav took us to residential farm area. Probably, during winter time it would be handy if more sign post and entrance area is well lit up.

Very welcoming host and a wonderful full English breakfast. Good location, easy to access the area. The location wasn't as marked on Google maps, so we took a little while to find it. Turned out to be close by, just a little unnerving to begin with.

• Bwen (9/5): Overall, this was a very satisfying experience - The room had a crisp, clean impression on entering and everything I needed was to hand. I appreciated having good quality, freedom of use, hangers in the wardrobe. Mostly hotels now have these attached to the rail as a result of hangers being taken by the clientele. Although situated at the end of a long, quiet driveway, it was well lit and welcoming at night. There could have been a suitcase stand, or simply a thick cover at the end of the bed for the suitcase.

Our room was perfect, I have never stayed in a bed as comfortable as what is in room 1. Julie and Steve were so welcoming and made us feel straight at home, they both do a brilliant job at running the place. We will definitely be back again xXx

• Samantha (8/5): lovely place. excellent service and would definitely return. - the owner was very amenable. nothing was too much trouble. it was obvious that a lot of love and hard work has gone into the property. it wasn’t obvious in booking that they were closed for the winter so we were the only guests and were looking forward to sitting by log fires and enjoying a drink. I feel booking.com should have notified us as it was obvious on the hotel website and on arrival that they are currently closed. that said, we were still made to feel so very welcome by the owner which made it a great stay.
