- Janet (9/5): - Location
Comfortable bed (firm)
Extra long check out (11 am) meant less rush in the morning. Traffic noise in the evening made TV viewing difficult. It was fine at night and didn't disturb our sleep.
- Carole (9/5): Cosy, beautifully decorated cottage we didn’t want to leave. - Wonderful cosy little cottage in the middle of Clitheroe. Provided everything we needed and more. We would love to return. Nothing

- George (10/5): A wonderful place for a great holiday - Perfect location in Clitheroe. It is tidy , offers all amenities needed and is no more than couple of minutes walk to any attraction in the city.
Owner's creativity really brought that "hygge" to this wonderful cottage and i wouldn't think of any other place to stay when i'm in Clitheroe.

- Marsters (9/5): Peter and Maggie give a big thumbs up. - Very clean, very cosy and comfortable. Close to town centre and all amenities. Road noise, though ok after late. Parking costs, but not a deal breaker by any means.

- Nick (10/5): A great little cottage in Clitheroe, ideal for a short break. - This is a great little cottage right in the middle of Clitheroe. It was very clean and comfortable with a nice welcome package from the owner. The cottage has great facilities, is nicely set up with a nice sized living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom - everything you need. It's right in town so handy for exploring the town, with loads of nice pubs and restaurants nearby. There is a pay and display car park just over the road, but you can also get free on-street parking just around the corner on Highfield Road too if you can squeeze in (we did no problem). Would definitely stay again.
- caron (10/5): Perfect - The location was perfect and the cottage was clean and comfy
- Carl (10/5): Great stay perfect spot! - A little Gem!! Perfect for Clitheroe & surrounding area park the car up and forget it.
Everything in easy walking distance.
Accommodation spotlessly clear with lovely personal touches to make you feel welcome. Nothing
- Robert (8/5): Loved our stay. Great cottage in a wonderful location. - Lovely, homely cottage. Very well furnished and had everything that we would want for our stay. The radiator in the kitchen wouldn't turn on, so we struggled to warm up the downstairs area.

- amanda (10/5): Beautiful cottage - Beautiful cottage right in the middle of all the shops and bars, location excellent. The cottage is spotlessly clean and very comfortable, has everything you need. The little extras are a lovely touch too, the host left us wine, cookies and popcorn, how fab is that. We parked at Sainsbury's for the weekend which is a 2 minute walk from the cottage, cost us £7 through Just Parks, highly recommend everything, it was perfect Sorry can't think of anything!

- evie07 (8/5): Relaxing time in cosy cottage - The cottage is cosy and as it rained quite a bit over my stay. So it was nice that there was a dryer, as well as a washing machine. Parking was the only real issue. I currently have mobility issues, so the lack of parking outside of the property was a bit challenging.
- Karen (9/5): Perfect short break - Lovely compact cottage. Everything you need for a short trip. Good communication from the owner. Perfectly central for exploring Clitheroe. Car park nearly opposite the property. Castle very near. Nothing would stay again
- Myall (9/5): - Beautifully decorated. Spotlessly clean.
Great facilities. Wine, and snacks were a lovely touch. Very comfortable bed.
Great location. Road, and pub a couple of doors away, can be a bit noisy. Grateful for the supply of earplugs!
- Laura (8/5): Ideal for central Clitheroe, lovely small home well kept and welcoming. - Lovely and clean and welcoming. Great location lovely welcome pack. Close to the road so some road noise noted.
- Aldridge (10/5): Lovely, well appointed cottage. - Amazing interior, great location, well equipped with a lovely back yard too. Nothing
- Turner (9/5): - Great location, clean and cosy with lovely quirky touches. Just needed darker curtains in the bedroom to cut the early morning light out.Just a personal preference🙂
- Nicola (10/5): Excellent stay - Beautiful No fault
- Jennifer (10/5): Great for an overnight - Excellent location and cottage. Arrival details shared and good communication throughout. Clean, tidy and a lovely few touches on arrival including chocolates and milk. Car park over the road (payable). A little noisy especially with open windows - not the host fault.
- Janet (10/5): - The location, the facilities and the comfort. I found my feet got dirty when walking around barefoot. This doesn't happen at home.
- Wood (10/5): Charming cottage in the heart of town ❤️ - We absolutely loved our stay at Church Mouse Cottage in Clitheroe. The location couldn't have been better—tucked just off the high street, making everything easily walkable yet still peaceful and quiet. The cottage itself is beautiful, full of character and lovely little touches, including charming artwork throughout.
The beds were super comfy, and the shower was perfection—great water pressure and spotlessly clean. We also really appreciated the sweet little garden, perfect for a morning coffee.
Our host was fantastic—friendly, responsive, and even left us a thoughtful welcome gift on arrival, which was such a lovely surprise. Communication was quick and easy from start to finish.
We only wish we could’ve stayed longer, but we were just in town for a wedding. We’ll definitely be back if we’re ever in the area again! Not really a dislike, but worth noting that there’s no parking directly outside the cottage and overnight parking isn’t allowed in the nearby car park. That said, the host helpfully suggested a nearby street just a short walk away where parking is free, and I left my car there with no issues at all.
- Kerrie (10/5): Love it 💕 - Stunning place, everything you could possibly need was there including a complete wallpaper map of the town, brilliant detail.
- Kathleen (9/5): Loved it. Central for Clitheroe. We just stepped out of the door and explored. - Location. The property was very quirky and interesting The stairs were too steep for us , made us nervous. We are in our late 70s. Every other part of the cottage was comfortable.
- Debbie (9/5): Lovely stay in a gorgeous cottage in a brilliant location- highly recommended! Thank you Christine! - Gorgeous quirky cosy cottage, great location for the centre of Clitheroe- spotlessly clean, lovely welcome gift of wine and other goodies, comfy bed, loved the Clitheroe wallpaper on the stairs with all the landmarks shown! Lovely outside space perfect for a brew or a glass of wine. Loved it! Parking was a little tricky but we managed it no problem in the end after unloading our stuff at the front and then didn’t move the car for two days while we were there, otherwise there was nothing not to like!
- Deborah (8/5): Good for a short break - Clean Car parking
- Carol (9/5): Great cottage to stay in to explore Clitheroe.. - Loved the little cottage, tastefully decorated, very clean.Had everything you would need for a long weekend away.
Great shower with toiletries.
TV with Netflix.
Goodies + wine for your arrival.
Good location for restaurants, shops.
Overall we had a good time.
We actually did the Clitheroe pub walk 2025 for charity + highly recommend both. Ear plugs supplied but I am a light sleeper. Road outside loud at times in the evening.
Didn't bother my husband though.
- Hooper (10/5): A great place for a short holiday in Clitheroe. - The imaginative and creative decor. Steep stairs and limited room.
- Sue (9/5): Great little cottage - perfect for a single traveller or a couple. - Excellent location, close to the centre of town. Clitheroe is a vibrant market town, with lots of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and wine bars as well as a historic Norman castle - so a great base for exploring the Ribble Valley. The house is lovely and quirky, with a very well-equipped kitchen and stylish bathroom. There's a lovely little courtyard garden - perfect for enjoying a glass of wine at the end of the day. A beautiful hand-drawn 'map' of Clitheroe on the staircase provides lots of ideas for shopping and places to explore. Wi-fi was great. The property is close to the road, so you do get some traffic noise.
- Terry (10/5): Lovely little cottage - Lovely cottage, decor was great lots of nice touches. And a lovely welcome pack.
Even had a little yard which was also lovely.

- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nadine (8/5): Very good - Parking was an issue
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Hilary (9/5): Very clean and comfortable, bed was exceptionally comfy . The - Excellent location. As it was particularly cold it may have been advisable to have had the heating on all day for a day or two before our arrival. It took two of our three day stay to really warm through downstairs as the living room radiator wasn’t fully functioning. To be very fair our hosts did pop down on the Saturday to take a look and adjusted the boiler. However, the living room radiator didn’t improve much.
- John (10/5): Great time at Church Mouse Cottage, Clitheroe - Decor in the cottage was brilliant. It felt really cozy.
- Julie (9/5): Superb -
- Jo-anne (10/5): We had a lovely stay with our two little dogs and it was very hard to leave! - It was very comfortable, tastefully decorated, a nice surprise to have Christmas decorations and a very nice selection of food and wine. We loved the location as well. Nothing
- Vikki (10/5): Amazing little quirky Gem - My partner and I stayed at Church Mouse Cottage in Clitheroe from 31st December 2024 to 2nd January 2025, and it was absolutely perfect. The cottage is beautifully decorated with thoughtful personal touches, like a welcome pack with wine and sweets. Its amazing location made exploring Clitheroe Castle, local shops, and the Ribble Valley so convenient. Every detail, from the cozy atmosphere to the provided amenities, made it feel like a true home away from home. A real gem—we’d love to stay again! Ps even had our own Christmas tree !
- Imogen (7/5): Delightful place to stay, cozy home-from-home feel, and a fantastic location close to town. - We loved the cozy, home-from-home feel of this self-catering house. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and the thoughtful food and drink gifts left by the host were a lovely touch. Its location was ideal, just a quick walk into town, making it perfect for exploring. All of this, combined with the reasonable price, made it fantastic value for money. While the house had many positives, it could have been cleaner—there were a few cobwebs, and some dishes weren’t properly washed. The lack of parking was a bit inconvenient, although understandable given the central location. Additionally, the proximity to the town centre meant some outside noise from traffic and passersby, which might bother light sleepers.
- Jordymark (10/5): Stunning little cottage - This gorgeous little cottage is superb.
Soo beautifully decorated with stunning artworks and quirky furnishings.
Welcome treats and a bottle of wine was a lovely surprise.
Central to town and with parking nearby.
Perfect.

- Joanne (9/5): Had a lovely weekend, hopefully will be back - Beautiful cottage, gorgeous deco with little quirky features, lovely welcome pack, fab location, well equipped kitchen. Loved it!! Nothing
- Paula (9/5): A home from home - So many bits included, like coffee and a sweet little welcome box with cake etc - really great It was a little bit noisy at times, but you don't get such a great position and it be quiet and it always was quiet by 11.30 so that is v good.
- Gary (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (10/5): When in this part of the world will definitely stay again if it is available. - Location excellent for our requirements and host performed well above expectations in dealing with our additional requests. We will be passing this gem onto others.
- Kath (9/5): Superb -

- Andrea (9/5): Pleasant stay in a charming little house. - Great location. Lovely decor lots of thoughtful touches There are blinds not curtains. Was woken up with the sun -early - not great after a night at a wedding. Some people may like that I wish I had brought a sleep mask.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (10/5): Fabulous cottage. - Everything! Small cosy cottage. It had everything you need for a weekend away and more. Lovely touches with wine, snacks, and chocolate. Great to have all toiletries provided.

- Kate (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (9/5): Lovely spot, - Cosy, clean and very comfortable Nothing
- Hanna (10/5): A great choice of accommodation for a short stay in Clitheroe and ideally situated for Holmes Mill - Really good location and although small the accommodation has everything we needed for a short stay. We ate at the French restaurant across the road and also used the bakery nearby for breakfast. Everything was clean. Not noticeable at all during the day but at night we found the neighbours across the road to be extremely noisey. Their music (although across the road) was louder than the Tv. We only stayed in one of the evenings so it wasn’t a major issue and we actually found it quite amusing. It would probably be an issue for a longer stay
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good - Location, comfortable. Noisy traffic, no TV in bedroom
- Timothy (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic Little place
- Amy (10/5): Great stay, would recommend - Great location and cosy cottage. Lack of curtains but didn't really disturb our sleep as we were warm and cosy.

- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allison (10/5): A real gem in a great location - Lovely little cottage in a great location. Blown away with the little extra touches provided by the host. Not only tea, coffee, and fresh milk, but also wine, chocolate, cake!
Beautifully decorated with original quirky artwork.
- Kay (10/5): Lovely, cosy, didn’t want to leave. - Thank you! Was a wonderful relief to step into a warm cosy cottage. Small but perfectly formed - every item has been chosen to create a comfortable, relaxing space. Spotlessly clean in every nook and cranny, so important to comfort and relaxation. Comfortable mattress, quality bedding and thick fluffy towels. Ideal for exploring Clitheroe from the door. Free parking between the B6478 and Queensway. Loved staying in Church cottage. You can go in short stay car park opposite and pay by card, to load/unload. Parking can be found in nearby streets. It was not a problem.
