Guest Reviews
- Rebecca (9/5): -
- Mags (7/5): Convenient for a one night stop by the beach, less comfortable for a long visit. - The property is located on the main road through East Runton where there is a local shop, a pub and fish'n'chip takeaway. Bus stops for travel into Cromer or to Sheringham are very nearby. East Runton beach is a short walk away. Hosting staff were really helpful. Being located on the main road, the main windows look straight out onto passing traffic. A large, south-facing windows the property catches lots of sun, so it was very hot inside when we arrived. The springs in the bunk bed and sofa bed mattresses made them uncomfortable.
- Claire (4/5): Disappointed and not value for money - The location and facilities - particularly two ensuite bathrooms. We didn’t like the damp bedroom- the smell of which invaded the whole property. Really poor mattresses on the bunk bed. If you arrive at a property and find a dehumidifier then you know already that the owners know that the property is running at a sub standard- we’d like a nights payment back.
- Nia (10/5): Fabulous - Great location, clean t
- anniegracexxx (5/5): Nice location and decor, let down by comfort of beds... - The accommodation is in a lovely area and we had no worries with the noise from the road. It's well equipped in the kitchen and the space is nicely designed. Unfortunately all of the beds were really uncomfortable. The accommodation is of course an affordable option in the area, however it's a real shame to not invest in the quality of the mattresses. We did not feel the stay was worth the price we paid, considering how bad the beds were. We also had some issues with not having correct remotes for the TV. Owners were responsive but feel issues could have been dealt with more efficiently.
- Janet (5/5): Good accommodation Poor immediate surroundings - Bungalow clean and well equipped Bed comfy Pub next door very quiet Road noise. Very hot with windows closed but very noisy with them open. Fans good though No view as windows made opaque for privacy. Lack of or broken pavements.
- Andrew (1/5): It was awful! - Nothing It was dirty . There was no ventilation in the shower which caused a high humidity levels and permanent stale air in the bungalow. The place smells musty. Not enough opening windows . Rooms were dirty. Beds were dirty . The sofa bed was filthy and the mattress on this bed was so bad , the springs were only held by thin fabric resulting in a very uncomfortable sleep . Bedding was dirty . We had too. The purifier had not been cleaned out for a very long Tina
- Amy (8/5): Cute little place!! 😍 x - It was decorated beautifully and was a cute little place to stay.
Perfect location, close to amenities, the beach and Cromer. The sofa bed was a little uncomfortable. Perhaps a mattress topper could do the trick.
- Chris (8/5): Great location to get to surround places of interest, pubs, restaurants, beach etc - Good location, nice to have 2 x bathrooms plus a separate toilet extremely hot inside by midday.
Very narrow path to navigate along a very busy road.
- Carol (8/5): Good accommodation but a bit too close to a busy road, lack of parking an issue with little people. - Spacious, clean. Good room set up for our grandchildren. three toilets a bonus!
Nice welcome gift, especially as we only stayed one night.
Double bed very comfortable and great ensuite. The shower room next to the bunks was also excellent. Nice touch with a night light in the bunk room.
Good communications although I misunderstood the bins. I thought they had been collected on Thursday. It turned out we should have put one out for Friday collection. We were up early enough to ensure it was collected. Very bothered by the lack of bed and pillow protectors. Thin sheets straight onto a mattress, not in this day and age. Fortunately I brought waterproof bedding for our 3 and 5 year olds. Otherwise I would have worried silly about a possible rare accident even though my grandchildren don't usually wet the bed.
Cleaning was itemised at £132 so did not expect to have to strip the beds :-(
We do cook in holiday cottages and a couple more ovenproof dishes or trays would be nice. The grill pan looked clean but was very sticky and gunky.
- Sam (9/5): Very nice place and enjoyed it a lot - Very nice place close to the beach at not to far from places nearby Just no parking which can’t be helped so had to park at the beach car park which ended up being £11 for 14 hours
- Theboywatson (9/5): Superb -
- Dean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (8/5): Very good -
- Frances (10/5): I would recommend the property especially if disabled. - We found the property to be clean, modern and spacious. It was accessible and ideal for one of our relatives who is in a wheelchair. There is a handy grocery store nearby, a chip shop and pub and bus stops were very close. We liked the two
en suite bathrooms including a wet room. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits were much appreciated after a long journey. Easy access to Cromer by bus or car
- J (9/5): Superb -
- Barry (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was wonderful
- Anita (7/5): The property is lovely and we would stay again but I don't think we would use the sofa bed! - Although the property is on the High Street and with a pub next door there was no disturbance at night and we had a lovely stay. The decor is really lovely and homely and the bathrooms excellent. The Sofa Bed desperately needs a new mattress. The couple who stayed on this did not sleep due to the springs poking through (rather dangerous) and very uncomfortable. Other than that we had a very pleasant stay.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gina (7/5): Good -
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional - Just the comfort of the chairs was not great but everything else was fabulous.
- Christopher (8/5): Great. We would look at staying again. - It’s location in relation to the rest of the north coast of Norfolk. Situated on an excellent bus route. The heating did not seem adequate for the size of the property, probably due to the amount of glass at the front of the property. This did improve throughout our stay as the temperature warmed up outside.
- Ursula (10/5): Exceptional - The property is in a great location. It's just round the corner from the beach and a short walking distance into Cromer. Everything was spotless and the goodies provided by the host were very appreciated.
- Lisa (5/5): Was ok for just a couple of nights. - Location. Well equipped. Didn’t know how to work the heating. Rubbish under the bunk beds (biscuit wrappers). No mattress toppers on bunk beds so just a top sheet. Also both children said they didn’t sleep well as they could feel the springs.
Hard to reach cups and glasses as the cupboards are high.
Grubby armchairs
- Nick (8/5): Very good - How quirky it was and the location Just the parking. But it does say no parking to be fair
- Sylwester (7/5): All whats needed, worth to recommend. - All what’s needed, can get around the house, plus parking! As described… After summer season, few bits could be done around the house. Lights ceiling - little bulbs especially ( kitchen ones and double bed room, those little bulbs are flashing like mad for no reason). Few paint touches would do good impression.
- Sungjin (7/5): one of the worst - One of my worst stays
So I tried to check in around 5 PM when it was starting to get dark. We were having a bit of difficulty finding the property
When we managed to somehow arrive the door was locked. When I contacted the landlord, she had advised that everything is in the manual, instead of telling us where the door lock was right away.
The manual was on dropbox so I had to download the app, register user and get in (the signal near the property is not good and it was darn cold..) It was nice and warm inside the property, but the there were two flickering LED lights which was extremely annoying. I contacted the landlord, but she said she’d take care of it after we leave. I decided to take a shower, but found out that there was no shampoo nor soap, and not even a hairdryer after taking the shower. When I decided to have some food, I noticed there was no cooking oil nor rubbish bag…
When I was about to go to bed. There were cars driving by really fast so the noise was really bad(please note that the property is located on a high street), and when there wasn’t any car driving by, we heard some squeaking sounds, had difficulty going to bed…
All in all it wasn’t a pleasant experience, so much so that I would never stay there again. warm
- Liam (10/5): October beach weekend - The Kitbag is a clean and spacious house that provided an excellent environment for our family beach break. The spacious layout allows for plenty of room for kids to play and explore. It was a well-maintained and appointed space. The house is equipped with modern amenities that enhance the overall experience. The combination of cleanliness and spaciousness ensures that we could unwind after a day on the local beach. It’s located on a busy main road into Cromer.
- Gemma (9/5): Superb - Location very near the beach and local friendly pub.
- Jon (8/5): Very good -
- Elizabeth (10/5): It was a great holiday lovely place to stay - It was so convenient for every thing we wanted to do and so close to the beach It was just the right size for all of us too It was very hot in the front two rooms even with windows open and the mobile fans on
- Kirstin (10/5): Beautiful, cosy, well equipped home from home right near a beautiful beach - The hosts were really communicative and made everything really easy and comfortable. The house was beautiful, so well decorated and clean. Lots of lovely thoughtful touches - a real home from home. The location couldnt be better - 4 minutes walk to the beach and right near a little coffee shop and amazing pub with great food. Impressive how quiet it was given its location on a busy road. Great double glazing. Excellent stay all round - would go back in a heartbeat. The mattress on the bunk beds was a little less comfortable, but the king bed mattress was heavenly!
- Simon (9/5): Brilliant and very comfortable. Thanks - Great place to stay in a great location. Loved it. Parking waw easy and nearby. Wasn't too easy to load and unload the car as there was a lot of traffic.
- Naz (8/5): Very good -
- Pippa (4/5): Disappointing - especially as our emailed concerns were not addressed. - Good clean and well equipped kitchen.
Near to shop. Short walk to the beach.
Appreciated the welcome pack. Advertised as West Runton (our preferred location) - but it is in East Runton.
Bunk bed very uncomfortable as mattress springs could be felt.
Chairs in lounge grubby and one had a visible tear.
Outside seating area not as advertised in photos: furniture piled up, dirty, fishing nets strewn on ground which was unswept, therefore not able to sit outside at the back.
Two drawers in main bedroom had previous occupier's possessions in them.
Overhead shower in second bedroom spurted water out at a right angle.
We made contact via emails during our stay regarding our concerns, but to date (having departed 5 days ago) none these have been addressed.
- Sana (9/5): Superb -
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denise (7/5): Great as a base to explore - Great location and good that it was available when I was looking to book last minute. Lovely fish & chips near by. Great beach for dogs 5 minutes away and easy to walk to Cromer. Absolutely fine as a base to explore the area for a weekend away but the living room furniture is very uncomfortable and with close proximity to road and lack of outside space we would have found it difficult to stay any longer.
- Louise (9/5): Perfect for our group gathering by the sea. Loved and would come again - Location, facilities were great.
Communication leading up to our stay was helpful, clear and informative.
Would recommend WiFi was sometimes intermittent
- Pete (9/5): Superb - Decor was great
- Andrew (9/5): Great place to stay close to the beach - Great location, clean and has everything you need
- Richard (7/5): Good - Location for the beach was perfect No parking and wouldn't recommend staying with young children, especially with pram/pushchair.
- Holly (9/5): Superb -
- Natalie (9/5): Lovely home away from home. - The property is beautifully renovated and modern. The location is great for getting to the beach, the tiny shop across the road or the pub right next door. It is right on the main road, stepping out the gate make sure you have a hold of your pet or children as the road can get very busy.
- Jimi (8/5): Fab getaway - Accommodation is perfect nothing not to like home from home. Parking slight issue also accommodation on a busy road nightmare getting in/out with child & dog.
- Grant (9/5): Enjoyable stay in a great location - Location. Very modern and clean. Quieter than expected so close to the road. Sofa bed isn’t useable for children or adults. The mattress is completely finished.
- Janine (8/5): Very good - Storage heater in small bedroom didn’t work, very cold all night
- Dawn (9/5): Fantastic accommodation - Beautiful modern clean and well equipped and quiet Nothing not to like
- Susan (9/5): Superb - We loved the location, which was easy to get to and easy to get to other places
Only draw back it wasn't as disabled friendly as we had hoped, it was easy to get around but our disabled family member found it very difficult with the toilet as it was far to low for them to use
Other than that a very enjoyable stay The toilet was far too low for a disabled person and a raised seat had been requested
- Marie (8/5): A lovely stay close to everything! Perfect for a quick family holiday! - Loved the location so close to Cromer and the beach! The dogs loved it! It was very clean modern and beautifully decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed! Loved the welcome package Thankyou was very much appreciated and recommendations on were to go was a really nice touch. The bunk beds were great fun for the children. I got a lot of inspiration from your modern style Thankyou x Sofa bed was very uncomfortable for my daughter she could feel the springs in her back, the other beds were fine. The lamps outside were quite bright in the evening in the front bedroom- not sure how you could change this- blackout blinds maybe I’m not sure. The shower next to the bunk bed room sprayed outwards instead of downwards. I hope this doesn’t sound to negative just wanting to help you for the future please take this as helpful not grumpy lol- loved our stay and the kitbag is beautiful x
- Richard (9/5): All the family aging 5 to 75 loved it. - Perfect lay out. Kitchen was great. Comfort around was great. Very modern with everything you could possibly need. Info for the next people no need to worry about parking. All night car park 50 yards around the corner £8.50 a night. Nice area no issues what so ever. We can't think of anything. It was great.
- John (8/5): Lovely property good location. - Modern interior, immaculately clean, well presented and comfortable. Road proximity, nothing you can do about it but no vehicles respect the 20 mph speed limit !!
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (8/5): Very good - Modern decor, good bathrooms, kitchen and general internal presentation.Near beach and easy walk into Cromer. Shop across road. No outside space. Straight onto busy road with narrow pavements. Challenging for kids and pets.
- Christine (9/5): Perfect stay - Location was perfect and the bungalow was everything we needed. It was well equipped and comfy. Would definitely stay there again.
- Alison (8/5): Fun birthday treat! - Lovely and clean. Close to beach Sofa bed not fit for sleeping on. Very hot. Could do with a fan
- Gavin (8/5): Very good -
- Evelyn (5/5): Very enjoyable but beds very uncomfortable and a fan could have been provided - Beds uncomfortable
- Shaun (8/5): Very good -
- Abigail (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Nick (9/5): Excellent avmcconodation - highly recommended - Lovely spacious property immaculately decorated and spotless. High quality fixtures and fittings and utensils...2 en suites very high quality and another touket too....excellent communication from the owners and in a brilliant position between Cromwr and Sheringham and a very short walk to the lovely quiet and clean beach at East Runton . Close to pubs and an excellent small shop and chip shop..car park very close and reasonably priced. The property is close to the road but this doesn't matter as there is no road noise and it has a small but nicely appointed outside area.. highly recommended and will be back again Just a bit close to the road - but really not an issue
- Ccsims (10/5): Fab home to stay in, lovely interior - would recommend - great location, very well designed and had everything we needed. So close to the beach - perfect accommodation. Parking nearby was easy and cheap, and fish & chips literally a minute walk away. no parking outside the property - but wasn't really an issue.
- Benjamin (9/5): Great place to stay, would recommend. - Location good, well presented modern accommodation. Would suit a family, as there are three toilets, two showers and a bath. There is a well fitted kitchen with all the applications. Cottage on a very busy road with a narrow footpath outside, had to check gate was closed when the dog was outside.
- Kelly (10/5): Lovely stay at a central location close to everything -
- Eloise (7/5): beautifully furnished in a wonderful location for the north Norfolk coast - The property is beautifully furnished and the village is in a great location for the north Norfolk coast. it is well equipped for a small family and had everything we needed for a self catering stay. it’s a 5 minute walk from a lovely beach! it’s on a major road and is very noisy with little outdoor space. bring earplugs and eye masks!
the cleaning is a little slack, lights are dusty etc. when we arrived the main bed wasn’t made up and the housekeeper arrived well after check in to finish making the bed which was awkward. the handbook said we’d receive fresh coffee from next door but this wasn’t too be found.
there is very little outdoors space for outdoor dining and would be on a busy road.
we didn’t find the living room furniture particularly comfortable.
- Maria (10/5): overall super happy with our stay at The Kitbag. Alexandra was super helpful with any questions we had before and so inf - the property was stunning!! The kitchen and living room was exceptionally beautiful. Me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and said we would 100% book again!
- David (8/5): Different Property - with nice features - walking distance to beach and car park - Modern and nicely decorated / bathrooms etc.
Nice kitchen/ living area.
Comfy beds
Spacious
Designer bathrooms
location
handy for pub / shop/ take away
Would definitely return
Thoughtfully decorated for Christmas All good - just some constructive suggestions:
- better quality pillows would be good
- a little more attention to cleaning (dusty in places)
- curtain rails difficult to use
- more selection of drinking glasses
- we could not get terrestrial TV (?poor signal) but got most of what we wanted on steaming eg BBC i player
There is some road noise but quiet at night
- Lyn (8/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! - Beautifully designed accommodation with good facilities. Two en-suite bathrooms and extra cloakroom great! Heating easy to control in each room. Tricky to access property with a pram or load/unload car as direct onto road from frontage. No garden. This all made clear by hosts, however.
- Ilse (8/5): We enjoyed staying there, even with the few shortfalls. - The apartment was very well appointed, clean and tidy. The dishwasher was a bonus, but unfortunately not enough cutlery to fill it up. The bathrooms were very pretty and functional. The location had no a beach view, it overlooked the busy main road. It was not 150m from the beach, it was more about 400m. There was no hair dryer nor any shower gel. No wardrobe in any room. Nowhere to hang or put anything in the small bedroom just a bunkbed.
- Tinker (8/5): Handy location for exploring beautiful north Norfolk - A spacious and stylish property. Problems with keys at start quickly resolved. Bedroom curtains need help!
- Nicholas (9/5): Superb - Good location close to the sea and shops. Very nice accommodation Close to the road for my mother, curtains didn't fully shut in main bedroom.
- Deborah (7/5): fab relaxing weekend stay - clean, well equipped with all mod cons. Bed was lovely and comfy. bedroom curtains are too small as they don’t meet when drawn and there is a street light right outside which shines through
