Guest Reviews
- Elton-walters (10/5): Exceptional - A warm welcome from Rebecca, who was also very helpfu with suggestions of where to eat. The garden suite was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also very nice with choice of cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt, fresh orange juice, bread, butter, jam, tea, coffee and milk. Nil
- Hicks (10/5): Used for an overnight whilst going to the theatre, 2 mins drive from the car park ideal. - Very well appointed, the breakfast was especially good included in the price Nothing
- Gillian (9/5): Very peaceful and relaxing stay in a great location. Would thoroughly recommend. - Clean, spacious rooms backing onto a lovely garden.
- Francisco (10/5): Exceptional - The room was very spacious and confortable. The host was very friendly and welcoming. It was a very pleasant stay
- Kimberly (10/5): Our visit during the Goodwood Festival of Speed Week - Our stay was nothing short of amazingly impeccable and the hosts Rebecca & Greg are just exceptional. They helped us in every way possible and even went out of their way to accommodate us. Everything in the suite is spotlessly clean and equipped with everything needed such as WiFi and TV. Everything was gorgeous & exceeded our expectations and so much more, too bad we didn't get to spend much time in the suite since we had a busy pre-planned holiday.
This accommodation is everything one could ever hope for and so much more :))
Hopefully we'll get to cross paths with you in the near future as you've made us feel like family and so at ease when we were away from home ♡ There is nothing to complain about
- Kellie (1/5): Be aware - Location There was no bath mat in the shower, considering she knew I was disabled. The breakfast wasn't plentiful and only allowed 2 cups of coffee. She came and went into the accommodation. The reason we chose this accommodation was that it was close to the hospital with parking, so I could wait close by to visit my wife who was having major surgery, of which she knew. Everything was fine on the first day, however she decided it was unacceptable for me to stay in the accommodation on the second day and told me I had to leave. Therefore, on the day my wife was discharged from the hospital, instead of resting and relaxing for her close to the hospital, we packed our belongings and drove home. It was not made clear at any point of the booking online or in person when we arrived that we were expected to vacate the accommodation during the day. She told me that if I wanted that kind of accommodation, i should have booked somewhere else. I am very dissatisfied with the unfair treatment I received.
- Paul (10/5): Fabulous host - informative- lovely surroundings - highly recommend - Lovely setting - spacious - had everything we needed for short stay N/A
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (10/5): Lovely short stay for us. Loved the garden area , so relaxing to sit outside and enjoy the peace - Very well presented, beautiful furnishings. Spacious bathroom . Amazing garden and outdoor area
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cheryl (10/5): Really nice and comfortable - The property was clean and well organised. Really simply to check-in and stay.
Extra quiet and overall everything is as described. Nothing.
- Nancy (10/5): We had a wonderful stay and a good breakfast. - Nice, clean and quite place, still close to the city centre with great parking options and restaurants. We had a lovely diner at the restaurant that was recommended.
- Laura (9/5): Superb - Very light, lots of space, very comfortable, easy walking distance from town, easy parking N/a
- Fabio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Glyn (9/5): Superb - Lovely little annexe in a quiet area close enough to the centre to walk into town. Very nice breakfast. Would have liked a hairdryer in the room.
- Stephen (9/5): Short stay - You’re not just getting a bedroom for the night, there is a cosy conservatory looking out onto a pleasant garden with more seating.
The inside area was clean, comfortable and spacious and we loved the breakfast (tea/coffee/muesli / cereal / toast / fresh milk and yoghurt / a few strawberries/raspberries/blueberries to add to it. Just what we needed !
The property is ideally located for both Chichester theatre (15 minute stroll and the Weald and Downland museum 10 minute drive) All good
- Nazia (10/5): Gorgeous stay in a beautiful part of Chichester - Such a gorgeous space: very spacious, light and bright. My miniature schnauzer and I loved that the conservatory dining area opened out onto the beautiful walled secluded garden. It’s very peaceful and we both enjoyed a very restful sleep. The bathroom is gorgeous too.
Rebecca was incredibly welcoming and provided tasty gluten free oats and fresh berries for my breakfast.
It’s a short cab ride or 20 min walk from Chichester centre.
I have already recommended to friends. I would love to stay again.
Many thanks Rebecca.
- Barry (8/5): Very good - tranquil and clean, nice secluded area.ideal for events at Goodwood
- Lesley (9/5): Really enjoyable. Would definitely stay again!!! - The secluded court/garden area was really lovely. After our meal out in town, we were able to come back and have a lovely evening enjoying the sunshine. Bed was really comfy and the garden suite was very clean. Rebecca was a lovely host and really helpful. Having her meet us on arrival was a really nice touch. Thank you. We couldn’t get the tv to work.
There was an issue with the toilet flush. It didn’t flush the waste away.
Plug behind the left bedside table is coming loose from the wall.
No bread for toast.
- Stephen (7/5): OK bt the host could have been a bit more welcoming - Breakfast was OK. No cooked option. Unless you drink black coffee, the Nespresso machine was a waste of time as when you added the milk from the fridge it was tepid, at best. Very quiet and peaceful. Not really convenient to town. Only saw the the host briefly. Initially she seemed a bit flustered that I had arrived slightly earlier than I anticipated ( not unsurprising really as I had never been there before). She had an annoying rule about having to take your shoes off when entering the bedroom area. She seemed a bit put out when I later on had to ask her how the too clever TV worked, as though I was a bit dim. You couldn't get normal channels just streaming services. No tissues were provided and the bathroom is in desperate need of an extractor fan. And the overly thick duvet, but that's par for the course for most UK accommodation.
- David (10/5): Cosy place for a short place, happily recommend to others. - It was a cute place, very cosy and comfortable for a short stay.
Host was very welcoming and polite, highly recommend.
- Claire (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): Excellent… - Well presented with quality items, mattress excellent, lovely hostess, nothing to fault… Ideal position for us as visiting family, near to excellent bus routes, will re book first our next get together… plenty of parking on the road outside the property. Nothing
- Susan (9/5): We enjoyed our stay, good to be able to bring our dog with us and our host was most welcoming. - The location was great, we have a dog and our host recommended a nearby park we could take her for a run, which also had a good cafe. Our bed was lovely and comfortable and the decor was nice and clean. We were provided with a lemon cake and breakfast which consisted of cereals, toast, fruit, fruit juice, yogurt, tea and coffee was replenished every day for the next morning. We also had the use of the garden which was great for our dog and for us to look out on. If the weather had been a bit warmer we may have made more use of it as there is a table with seating. We probably would have liked a bit more room at the breakfast table as it felt a little restricted but there's very little could be done about that, given the space available.
- Sarah (9/5): Excellent 5 star service and v comfy bed! - Fabulous location for Goodwood.Host very accommodating and helpful.Nothing too much trouble.Would highly recommend!
- Ourtwocents (10/5): Perfect bolthole near Goodwood - Great communication from a generous host: everything was thoughtfully prepared and very cosy.
- Linda (10/5): Don't even consider staying anywhere else! You'll be sorry if you do! - Our host was most welcoming, with a lovely and bright smile.
She took us through to the property, first impression? WOW, WOW, WOW, we were speechless, looking around the beautiful garden and surroundings including a lovely Rattan set.
We were welcomed into a very bright and airy garden room, which included a comfortable sofa, rugs, dining table for two.
A small fridge which contained a bottle of freshly produced orange juice, a bottle of scrumptious milk fresh fruit and yogurt. Along 4 slices of beautiful bread and butter, not forgetting the jam
Coffee maker with pods, tea bags and coffee.
The bedroom was spacious, as the first entrance, bright and welcoming. Furnished to a high standard.
Very comfortable bed with lovely pillows.
The bathroom was also very spacious, shower and basin with towels provided.
Rebecca couldn't do anything more to make our stay anymore comfortable.
Vere, very highly recommended. Just one tinny thing, the radio has quite a bit of dust and cobwebs behind it.
- Nicola (8/5): Very good -
- Angela (10/5): Everything was as described and of a very high standard. Our second visit - would stay again. - Continental breakfast provided was first rate. Lovely property - delightful garden
- Jane (9/5): Great property in a quiet location - Really lovely place to stay, so peaceful to look out on the beautiful garden and fabulous to have so much space to enjoy. I was there for work and great spot to sit and write emails. Looked close and an easy walk to the centre. Nothing
- Glen (9/5): Superb - Quiet, beautiful garden.
- David (9/5): Great! - Excellent breakfast and excellent location within easy walk into town through park, bus stop nearby and corner shop with post office . Bright attractive beautifully equipped suite with attractive garden for relaxing Any extras we needed were promptly supplied. Our only concern was that we are both in our nineties so were a bit nervous of the loose rugs on the floors - as recovering from dire effects of a rug trip. We never did quite master the TV or coffee machine so we were maybe a bit ambitious in thinking we could cope , but we did very much enjoy staying here and the friendly welcome
- Antony (9/5): A lovely space in a great position for Chichester - The breakfast was great. The room spacious with a lovely view of the garden. The hosts were really friendly and helpful.
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (8/5): Home from home - highly recommended - A most comfortable quiet and nicely appointed room with adjoining conservatory and own spacious shower room. Lovely simple breakfast that we helped ourselves to. They went the extra mile to help us celebrate a special night away! Walkable easily to theatre and town which are lovely. OLIVER was incredible! On til Sep 24 Google maps wee man initially showed the house on the corner - good job they weren’t in when we tried them first !
- Jonthan (2/5): Over priced - The bed was the smallest possible and calling it a spacious garden suite is just a joke if it was £120 for the night would be fair but £220 sorry over priced
I doubt this will be used !!
- Keith (9/5): A great break away in a lovely location on the edge of the South Downs. - Continental style topped up on second day. Fitted in well with our plans and timings. Great location for town centre as well as surrounding countryside and start location for Race to the King. Nothing in particular.
- Jeff (8/5): A really pleasant stay and I would highly recommend it. - Great location and a short walk to town.
Clean, bright accommodation with a good selection for breakfast. I wouldn’t say I didn’t like anything but little things would have earned it a top score.
Only the portions of butter so half the bread could not be eaten. TV had no terrestrial channels.
Maybe a few more coffee pods, there were two but lots of T Bags.
- Patricia (9/5): As promised - quiet, private and comfortable -
- Adele (8/5): Unfortunately cut short for personal reasons but great location. - Conservatory was lovely to eat breakfast in and relax in a real sun trap. Mattress was too soft.
- Alexandra (7/5): Good -
- Steven (8/5): Perfect accomodation for 1 or 2 people looking for a few nights away. - Very nice hosts, quiet location, thoughtful breakfast setup, comfy bed and cozy room.
Loved the garden access also and travelled with a small dog so it was so helpful to have some space.
- Jaymie (9/5): Superb -
- Dora (10/5): A wonderful place to stay, very clean, comfortable, and gorgeous to have our own private garden . - Breakfast was lovely and fresh, host made sure we had everything we needed. Location was near the centre on a lovely quiet road with ample parkin. Having our own private garden was wonderful for us and our dog, would definitely stay here again🥰 Everything was perfect.
- Amanda (10/5): So very welcoming, nice accommodating people, Rebecca just wanted you to be happy. Nice. - Comfortable, lovely setting and lovely hosts Cooked breakfast daily would be nice
- Nick (10/5): Enjoyed our short stay. Good value. - We took our dog and the garden was perfectly secure so had no worries about our dog escaping.
All the facilities were great as was the breakfast.
Would recommend staying here.
- Roger (10/5): Very enjoyable. Would use again. - Warm welcome. Very quiet, private and well equipped for a short stay. Comfortable and a good breakfast with ample cereal, fruit, yoghurt and toast etc
- Amanda (10/5): Lovely Retreat - It was lovely and private and very close to Goodwood. Rebecca was very helpful and plenty to eat for breakfast. Back next month!
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional - Extremely pleased with accommodation and host was very helpful.
Would not hesitate to recommend. Nothing
- Susie (1/5): Less than 1 hour, by which time my feet were very cold! - We left as soon as we were able to secure more suitable accomodation. The host was very full of herself and proud that a previous elderly guest had felt cold!
The property which was cold, cheaply furnished with soft uncomfortable bed and sofa, kitchenette did not exist, a toaster does not make a kitchenette! Not even a sink, water was a jug in the fridge. Only 1 hand towel supplied for 2 people. Access down a dark side walk, very poor value for money. It was however clean.
- Katie (10/5): Perfect hosts, location and place to stay would def come back in the summer. Rebecca was a star! - A nice little selection for breakfast with fresh juice, fruit, toast, cereal and yogurt. Location was fine for me and my mum as 5 min drive into centre but you could also walk it in 20mins The bedroom area could have been abit warmer but appreciate we did stay when wasnt summer so probably just our preference
- Helen (10/5): lovely stay, friendly owner facilities very comfortable - spacious , clean & comfortable nothing all was very good
- Ivana (10/5): Quiet and cosy - The owner Rebecca made us feel welcome. The place was cosy and had a home like feel to it. Quiet location and the gated private garden was great for our dog. The breakfast was just what we needed. Would be good to have a bigger TV.
- Jennyp677 (8/5): Comfortable, charming accomodation. Thoughtful helpful host. - Access to garden as travelled with family.dog.
- Janet (9/5): We had a very enjoyable stay here. Good accommodation, location and perfect with our dog. - Good continental breakfast provided.
Direct access to garden and quiet residential area very dog friendly.
- Sílvio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (9/5): We enjoyed so much we are going to try and go before Christmas - Breakfast was very nice and healthy nice touches It was ideal for us just what we wanted
- Christopher (7/5): Good -
- Shaun (8/5): wonderful stay - friendly well welcomed. went out the way to make our stay wonderful television very small and no live programmes
- Davina (9/5): Excellent - Everything Nothing
- Nigel (8/5): A lovely place, with good facilities. Clean and tidy, in a good location. - We loved the property. It was clean, tidy, well decorated and equiped, and very tastefully furnished. The breakfast was just right. Rebecca was very attentive. We couldn't get a wifi connection during our stay, which was disappointing. I believe there engineers working on this in the area.
- Clive (8/5): Very good -
- Bev (9/5): Comfortable and well catered for. - Hosts were very welcoming (and the lovely dog) Very spacious and comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent and the lemon cake was delicious. Wi-Fi didn’t have a good signal.
- John (6/5): OK but wouldn’t recommend it. Room for improvement and attention to detail - Spacious.
Light. Good location for Goodwood. Ok fir Chichester town Previous occupiers dirty and damp towels left in bathroom. Previous guests / day’s croissant left in breakfast area. On complaint we were given pain au chocolat bought and left by the previous guests ungraciously. Poor Wi-Fi reception. Wall TV non functioning
- Elizabeth (9/5): Welcoming, comfortable and relaxing - A beautiful place, impeccably clean and with lovely views of the garden. Close enough to the town centre to walk in for dinner and easy to get to Goodwood. Th host Rebecca was really helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. There were lots of kind little touches too - like homemade cake! Nothing I didn’t really like.
- Darren (10/5): Really enjoyable comfortable spotless accommodation. - Fantastic hosts .Definitely return again.
- Leah (10/5): Amazing hosts and lovely stay - The place: Beautifully decorated, incredibly comfortable, it felt very spacious and clean. Looks as it does in the photos
The hosts: absolutely lovely; any small inconvenience they were dead set to amend. Very accommodating and gave a homely feel to the stay. We were lucky enough to meet their gorgeous dog who is also lovely (on requests)
The amenities: nespresso maker and tea at the ready, fresh orange juice in the fridge each morning, the breakfast was well enough. The connector door to the main house doesn’t feel hugely separate. You can hear their voices when they’re in the kitchen and you can see their shadows move across. This didn’t really bother us tbh but it also didn’t feel 10/10 private if that’s something you’re looking for.
There wasn’t any soap or shampoo in the shower either (but again this didn’t bother us as we’d brought our own)
- Jacqui (10/5): A hidden gem. Beautiful accommodation with comfortable bed. Ideal continental breakfast in fridge ready for the morning. - Such a beautiful place. All self contained. Everything you could want for a weekend away. Lovely continental breakfast. Best nights sleep on a comfortable bed. A hidden gem. Only 20 minutes from the coast. Host was amazing, with advise on places to eat and places to visit. Would definitely go back again. Nothing there to dislike
- Sanet (10/5): Lovely stay - Definitely got the wow factor. - Amazing B&B in Chichester.Fab room had everything you needed and very private with a lovely breakfast in the conservatory every morning, great hospitality form Rebecca. Definitely coming back, just loved staying here.
- Janet (10/5): Lovely self-contained unit, convenient for leisure & business trips to Chichester - Very well appointed, self contained unit in a quiet, residential street with its own entrance. The suite is recently redecorated and spotlessly clean. Rebecca, the extremely helpful and friendly owner, was in touch beforehand to explain arrival arrangements, and was on hand when I checked in to show where everything was. Breakfast is spot on - a continental selection, which you can fix for yourself. Location was perfect for me, as I was attending an event literally just round the corner.
- Chris (9/5): Super relaxing stay - Good location. Quiet, relaxing environment. Easy parking, comfy bed, lovely breakfast. N/a
- Lisa (9/5): Lovely place, very helpful host - We loved our stay, beautiful Accomodation & the host was extremely helpful We would have benefited from being able to check in a little earlier as we were here for a wedding
- Gillian (9/5): Wonderful stay and would definitely stay again. - The breakfast was thoughtfully and healthily prepared.
Location was very good. Easy to access the best bits of Chichester. To improve the very nice seclusion aspect, the interconnecting door could be a little more robust. We were surprised at how much noise & light came through.
- Caroline (10/5): We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this - A very friendly welcome. The facilities were excellent and spotlessly clean. We had a sun lounge and the use of their garden. We enjoyed everything!
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely comfortable bedroom with separate living area overlooking gardens. Large shower room.
Becky was very helpful with directions for walking into the thriving town and the Ivy in Chichester did not disappoint. Free parking in the street outside was helpful 😊
- Gail (10/5): Exceptional - Really friendly host and went above and beyond for us.
- Nehagorania (10/5): Fantastic stay, would 100% recommend - I loved the independent breakfast provided along with having access to the garden which is essential for dog owners
- Lara (8/5): Very good -
- Mckevitt (10/5): Upon arrival Becky gave us the warmest welcome we have probably ever had. - We loved everything, especially coming back from our days out and sitting in the beautiful garden. There was nothing to dislike
- Heather (10/5): Comfortable and restful - Excellent location, not too far from the centre of Winchester but in a quiet area. Lovely bedroom, comfortable and beautifully decorated and furnished. Good to have so much extra space in the conservatory (comfy sofa) and in the secluded garden (very generous of the host to turn this over to us for our stay). Just the place to relax after a busy day in Chichester; we hope to stay again.
- Dimitri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Witham (9/5): Lovely stay away from home. - The host (Rebecca) was very friendly and informative. The bed was very comfortable, amenities were acceptable and the area was quiet. Not too far to town. Nothing we didn't like. There was everything you'd need for a night away.
- Tom (10/5): Lovely place to stay with use if the garden as well - Last minute booking, Despite the host not knowing about us coming, they still accommodated us while it was not convenient for them.
- Denise (9/5): Perfect for an overnight stay. Has everything you need - Very peaceful. Perfect little oasis away from the hustle & bustle Nothing really.
- Karen (10/5): A spacious, quiet retreat, close to the heart of Chichester - Location is 20 minute walk from Chichester City Centre Nothing, all was excellent
- Patricia (8/5): Nice set up quite pricey for outer city centre - spacious ,lovely decor, access to garden which was very private. whilst you had code for access/security it was tricky to use, because it wasn't a memorable code so you had to hold phone to read code and turn 2 handles and the same procedure to close gate and the same from inside to get back out , very tedious process especially with luggage. chiller was noisy all night, being very hot at the time of our visit. we had to close doors to the conservatory area, which we would sooner not of had too. The shower only trickled water due to unsuitable square shower head installed. It took forever to rinse yourself impossible to wash hair, installed but clearly not checked from the installed position. Very disappointed. I know because i tried the exact same head at home. Checking in time varies, so it's best to check with the host around that. Everywhere was clean except 1 set of cutlery was dirty and mould on lid of milk,we used our own and decided not to have the breakfast 😑 .All fixable.
- Christopher (9/5): we will be back - lovely welcoming hosts, quiet secluded location - the dogs loved it too! the shower - while perfectly functional - it a bit flimsy and I was reluctant to adjust it for height (I’m 6’5”)
- Todd (8/5): very lovely host and really keen to make sure everything was ok. Bonnie the Retriever is a lovely dog. - it was perfect for a hot summers day, bedroom cool and outside area lovely to sit in.
- Kim (10/5): The perfect stay! - Becky our host was absolutely amazing! From helping my friend and I out of a sticky travel situation to a lovely breakfast in the morning. I can only hope more people stay with Becky to experience her lovely hospitality! I would happily stay again. Thank you again!! I can't fault our stay! It was perfect!
- Chamupathi (10/5): Exceptional - Large toilet, nice decor, closeness to the town and cleanliness
- Matt (10/5): A perfectly relaxing stay in a beautiful space , hope to return one day soon - We had an amazing stay in this beautiful space . Everything was spotlessly clean and newly refurbished , lots of attention to detail with furnishings. It’s honestly like a private oasis looking out onto the beautiful garden , we ate our breakfast under the grape covered pergola . The host was very welcoming but also respectful of our privacy and allowed us to have sole use of the garden to enjoy the sun beds and drink wine in the warm sunshine yesterday evening. We will definitely be returning to this little gem as it’s so close to Goodwood and West Wittering beach . Our feedback to the host was they should include photos of their beautiful garden on their listing as it’s a stunning space / outlook .
- Margaret (5/5): This property was not as expected. - The property was modern and nicely decorated with plenty of storage in the bedroom. The comfortable lounge area makes for a very nice B and B stay. The description of this property is very misleading. This is a bedroom with a lounge area, it is not an apartment. In an apartment one would expect to find cooking and washing up facilities - a toaster, kettle and coffee machine do not constitute a kitchenette! We expected there to be a television in the lounge, not just a tiny one in the bedroom. Breakfast was adequate but I would not expect to see individual marmalade pots being refilled!
