• Rita (8/5): Beautiful property at a nice stretch of the beach - Beautiful property. Excellent breakfast is included in the room rate, which is reasonable. Towels provided free of charge. Location is great, at a pretty and quiet stretch of the beach. Room is comfortable with mosquito nets, even if a bit warm with fans, but not AC. Restaurant/bar on site is very convenient. Shower head missing in the shower I used. Bathroom sink and toilet were not cleaned often enough. AC in the room would be nice, but it’s not common in Rincon Del Mar.
• Pedro (1/5): Geen aanrader. - De locatie. Het hele gebouw is opgebouwd met dunne houten platen. Geluidslast! Eerst verbleven we 1n in kamer « eskurana », deze is helemaal een ramp! Daarna verbleven we 3 nachten in een 2persoonskamer met eigen badkamer (niet in de kamer, wel via een buitentrap onder de kamer).« amalaya » De douche is een buisje waar water uit stroomt. In het dorp zijn zeker betere verblijven. Het personeel spreekt geen Engels en ze doen geen moeite om verstaanbaar traag Spaans te spreken. Meer nog, ze lachen ons uit als we iets in het Spaans willen proberen te zeggen. Heel onprofessioneel! We kregen geen uitleg over de mogelijke activiteiten en moesten zelf nog de wificode vragen. Op dag 3 kregen we plots een sapje bij het ontbijt, leuk maar blijkbaar hoorde dit bij het ontbijt en hadden we dat de eerste 2 dagen dus niet gekregen.

Wij verbleven eerst in een 3persoonskamer « eskurana » met een gedeelde badkamer. De kamer is klein en de matras is slecht en vies. De badkamer is ook vies. De douche is een buisje waar water uit stroomt. Daarna verbleven we 3 nachten in een 2persoonskamer met eigen badkamer (niet in de kamer, wel via een buitentrap onder de kamer). Deze kamer was iets beter, maar in het dorp zijn zeker betere verblijven. Het personeel spreekt geen Engels en ze doen geen moeite om verstaanbaar traag Spaans te spreken. • Pauline (8/5): - Palenque is absoluut de mooiste en leukste plek om te verblijven als je naar Rincon komt. Aan het einde van het strand maar daardoor rustig en schoon, met vrij uitzicht over zee en strand. Door de last minute deal was de kamer ook goed betaalbaar, waardoor het echt goede waarde voor je geld is, zeker door het lekkere ontbijt. Een speciaal compliment naar de koks want al het eten was heerlijk en we hebben veel van de kaart geprobeerd. Het is een fijne plek om tot rust te komen en dagenlang niks doen, want los van de tours is er in Rincon weinig te beleven. Al met al, een aanrader wie een budget friendly tropische vakantie zoekt! Hoewel de bediening niet onaardig was waren ze ook niet echt welcoming en vriendelijk, ik heb niemand van hen zien lachen en elk verzoek voelde te veel gevraagd. Dit was jammer, want de service was wel goed. Dit was overigens in het hele dorp, wat een wat gekke sfeer gaf en we liever in het hotel bleven. Er zijn weinig fijne (lig)plekken in de schaduw, en alles wat in de schaduw is is dicht bij de boxen dus de hele dag harde muziek. Verwacht geen enorme luxe want je bent toch in de tropische natuur, bereidt je voor op hitte en insecten, ook in de kamer. Maar je kan niet alles hebben :)

• travelluci (9/5): Best choice in Rincon del Mar - We had a wonderful 10 days at the beach house. The young and friendly team was spoiling us from breakfast to after dinner with good food and drinks. It's mostly quiet, very relaxed atmosphere, the days on the beach are lovely. It's definitely the best spot on the beach along the village. The place is kept clean inside and outside. It was an excellent idea to come here for a time out. They charge 5% for foreign credit card payments, but that happened to us many times during our journey through Colombia

Le petit est tres bon. le personnel peut vous aider pour visiter les îles. Les derniers 100 mètres pour se rendre a l’hôtel se font a pied en longeant la plage, mais l’hôtel vous envoie une personne pour aider a porter vos valises. c'est un bon hôtel pour la famille

• Sophie (9/5): Séjour hors du temps dans un petit coin de paradis des caraibes colombiennes - L'endroit est juste incroyable. L'hôtel se situe au bout de la plage de Rincon del mar, isolé de la grande plage avec tous les hôtels et les restaurants. L'hôtel est décoré avec goût, le personnel est adorable, à notre service. Les repas sont de très bonne qualité. L'arrivée est par la plage, mais si vos valises sont lourdes, pas de souci, les locaux sont là pour vous aider. Il y a de grands espaces dans tout le complexe et sur la plage pour flaner dans les hamacs, être autour d'une table avec les amis, ou encore télétravailler face à la mer. C'est très bien ventilé, on y a jamais chaud même lorsque la chaleur brûle les pieds sur la plage. L'espace plage est aussi incroyable : hamac dans la mer, transatsn matelas... Depuis l'hôtel, les excursions vers les ilets ou la mangrove sont possible.
• Mónica Riv.Con (10/5): Un paraíso colombiano - Todo nos gusto de este hospedaje, las instalaciones, la comodidad, el relajo, el desayuno, los espacios comunes, etc. Fue una experiencia increíble, un paraíso colombiano sin duda. Pero sobre todas las cosas, nos gusto la amabilidad y las atenciones del personal. Son duda ellos son el corazón de este lugar y quienes le dan vida y hacen todo lo posible por qué te sientas agusto.

• Isabelle (7/5): Pretty but not worth this price - The hostel looks pretty, it‘s directly next to the beach, they offer drinks and food and breakfast so you can directly drink and eat at the beach, there are some cute cats, the bed was comfortable, it had all the furniture it needed, the breakfast was tasty, they played calm music which I enjoyed instead of champeta that makes your ears explode in other parts of the city. Staff is really friendly There is zero privacy due to the style of building. You can hear absolutely everything and even look into the other rooms if you stand on the bed. We were woken up before 6am because of the neighbor talking loudly. This was not visible during the booking. Neither was it visible that the „private“ bathroom is not even connected to your room. You have to leave your room and walk downstairs to get into your bathroom which was annoying at night. The shower has little water which comes out far away from the shower, so you have to squeeze yourself next to the shower curtain to shower. The toilet clogs super fast. Neither is it mentioned that the hostel is not even reachable by car or motorcycle. You have to park somewhere and walk quite some time over the beach. At night it‘s completely dark. Glad we didn‘t have any big suitcases but for people that do this would be really hard. In my opinion charging 63€ for night in this hotel is absolutely crazy. There are cheaper, better rooms in better areas.

• Frederic (8/5): - L'hôtel est situé au bout de la plage de Rincon, c'est donc paisible et les passages sont limités. Le personnel est super sympa, le patron aux petits soins : n'hésitez pas à lui demander des conseils, il appellera ses contacts pour des tours ou des lanchas. Les lieux communs de l'hôtel sont hyper agréables avec pleins de coins pour se poser, des tables, chaises, hamacs dans l'hôtel ou sur la plage..la chambre familiale était un peu exiguë mais franchement ça allait. Les lits sont tous équipés de moustiquaires. Nous n'avons pas du tout été embêtés par les moustiques. Les sanitaires communs sont biens, propres. Le petit dej est correct avec des fruits, café et Plat salé ou pancakes. Ils prêtent des masques pour faire du snorkling. Le prix est bien et il prennent la carte. Il faut savoir qu'il n'y a pas de clim mais des ventilateurs dans la chambre et cela est normal puisqu' il n'y a pas de fenêtres mais des toiles pour éviter les moustiques.

Ideal para descansar y disfrutar la playa. La comida deliciosa y accesible. También la música brinda una experiencia muy relajada y tranquila.

• Erika Yulieth (8/5): Un lugar acogedor y tranquilo para volver - La ubicación nos encantó, está en la parte retirada del centro del pueblo, por lo que es silencioso y poco transitado, además está cerca a la zona inhabitada de la playa, lo que nos permitió caminar en la mañana y a mi mamá meditar. Las habitaciones aunque pequeñas son cómodas, justo lo que necesitas para llegar a dormir después de un día en el mar o haciendo tours. El personal siempre fue muy atento y en general atendieron todas las preguntas. Estuvieron atentos a nuestra llegada, a pesar de que llegamos casi a las 10pm, y nos ayudaron para tener cena a esa hora. Volveríamos a hospedarnos allí. Los baños que son privados por fuera de la habitación tienen chapas de seguridad que no funcionan, por lo que a veces resulta siendo igual que un baño compartido. Incluso alguien utilizó el baño que nos asignaron y lo dejó sucio. La habitación tampoco tenía mucha seguridad, pues se podía abrir fácilmente sin llave.

Au calme car au nord du village (accès à pied uniquement en parcourant 300m sur la plage) Restaurant les pieds dans le sable. Bons petits déjeuners inclus et bon repas Chouette atmosphère Plage généralement propre. Un bon endroit pour déconnecter quelques jours Les chambres les moins chères sont minuscules et il n’y a absolument aucun rangement ni table de nuit, même pas un clou au mur pour pendre un habit. Préférez les chambres plus chères au deuxième étage (avec salle de bain dans la chambre), plus spacieuses et plus tranquilles aussi.

• Madeleine (8/5): Lovely place to stay - Staff were delightful, breakfast was delicious and very generous portions. Really lovely place and despite being at the end of the beach, we felt it was bar far the nicest bit of beach on the whole strip. Mostly very clean but the fan was very dusty and towels and shower curtain need replacing ASAP.

• Andrea (10/5): The best place in Ricon del Mar! - I LOVED IT HERE SO MUCH! If I could rate Palenque 100/10 I would. Everything exceeded my expectations. The Staff is so kind and helpful that it felt like we were old friends. the food was delicious, the drinks were good, and the location is the BEST ONE in Ricon del Mar; it feels like a private beach. I recommend Palenque and will come back!
• Maria (4/5): Disappointment - The location is good in front of the beach, the hotel is equipped with lots of outdoor space, coffee and tea, board games, even a SUP you can take for free. But we have to leave 1 star. We knew it was a simple accommodation, but for the price asked, we expected at least decency. The room was super basic, and so was the bathroom, without a single hook and hand soap. Dirty towels. Missing mosquito net. The floor was dirty with sand when we came, very unconfortable. No window blinds. Additionally some bananas we left in the room got eaten by some bug or mice. The food is pricier than other local restaurants, wich is fine, but then put the prices on a menu and be transparent. Some of the staff is unpleasant and unaccommodating. They hang out only with guests who buy food and drinks there. We asked 3 times for a punctual breakfast because we had to catch a bus and they were late and did not care at all about it.
• Deniz (4/5): Nice location but horrible place - Location We are travelling since 6 weeks in Colombia, but we have never ever experienced something worse like this before! Actually to much happend to explain in detail but let‘s sum up: • Pillow with black mold (got changed after the 3rd time we asked them to change it) • No cleaning service for room and bath (had to ask 3 times to get the bin changed in the bath) • The towels are dirty as hell ( sorry to say so) • And the best of all: bed bugs - we got bitten several times. Seems like it is common there as they told us that they just had an infestation 2 months ago, when we informed them… • The price they are asking for is leading you to expect at least a clean place as it was pretty expensive, compared to other accomodatations in Rincon. • Asked if they could provide us with some fruits or similar for breakfast as we went diving early in the morning before the breakfast-service started. Got told that they will check it. Never came back to us nor provided something. • Probably we have a wrong understanding of the meaning of“eco“, could not find anything sustainable there. Staff was friendly but this does not really matter as long as all of the above mentioned is not getting improved.

• Catherine (9/5): Relaxing beach holiday! - We loved the location—away from the crowding closer to the town, it has one of the quietest beaches. The beach is clean and with fine sand. You can walk a long way on undeveloped beach heading north. Also, we had a great rustic open air room overlooking the beach. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed the food. And if you want to dive, there’s a dive centre right next door.

• Luke (8/5): Great stay - get a water filter - Great location lovely rooms, employees went above and beyond No water filter despite being a eco hostel so we had to buy repeated bottles of water, also they don’t tell you that they serve dinner
• Caitlin (9/5): Superb - We loved our stay here at Palenque Beach House. The location is amazing, it’s literally on the beach and not only that, but it’s right at the end of the beach which meant it was much more peaceful. We were recommended a taxi driver (Wilson) by the property who picked us up from San Onofre bus station for 45000. You get dropped off about a 5 minute walk from the beach house, we did this ourselves with our backpacks, but you can pay a voluntary amount to a local to carry your bags if you need. We used the same driver for our return journey and he even helped us get our bus back to Cartagena. Our room was fine, pretty basic but the weather was good so we only spent time in there to sleep. There are lots of areas to relax within the property and they also have chairs (some in the shade) and hammocks to use on the beach. Breakfast is good and plentiful, always fruit, yoghurt and a hot drink and then an option of arepas or pancakes. We ate a couple of times in the evening, one night the food was amazing and the second time, it wasn’t quite as good. The bar does good cocktails and has a pretty good happy hour. We loved hanging out with their lovely dogs during our stay, would definitely recommend staying here. As other people have also mentioned, they need to have some sort of menu. The food options are just listed verbally in the evening but it’s not clear and there are no prices. Even a chalkboard with options for that particular evening would be good. There are also no prices for the drinks. They only have small bottles of water available and these are expensive (5000 per bottle). Would be good (for the planet and the bank balance) if they sold bigger bottles, or had a water fountain available. We noticed people from Palenque eating in nearby restaurants each evening (where the food wasn’t as good), probably because there was more clarity around the options and the prices.
• Kamila (10/5): Perfect! - The most perfect spot to enjoy the Caribbean coast. So perfect I came back twice! The staff are beyond amazing, the food is the best in the town (in my opinion), the rooms are really lovely, the whole place is immaculate, the beach is literally at the doorstep and it’s on the quietest, best part of the beach. Scarily easy to be at Palenque and not leave for your whole stay! Huge thanks to the whole team ❤️ It would be so great if there was a food and drinks menu.
• Kamila (8/5): Perfect place for a beachside chill :-) - The beachfront location was amazing, the town super authentic, the staff were so helpful and really great all-round, everything was clean and well-looked-after, the food was fantastic, there was ample space for all guests on the beach, it was just wonderful. They didn’t have menus or price lists for food or drink and the room was very hot (although they kindly gave us a fan for the room!).
• Al (9/5): Superb - The food is exquisite. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They were in constant communication with me using WhatsApp. The location is divine. Make your life easy and understand that you're staying at a beachfront cabana/beach house. Everything is walked in (no road, ATV, truck, etc.). Bring a small styrofoam cooler with ice and bottled water; pack light and bring bug spray. If you're in your room beyond sleep or a siesta, something is wrong with you, not this place. Another beach house is being built next door. Occasional hammer and saw took away from the ambience of the location, but I'll still be returning.

• Nadja (9/5): We spent three days that felt like three weeks, enjoyed the food, interactions with staff and guests and the most amazin - The location at the edge of the village is awesome, also we really enjoyed the good vibes and the excellent service at the hotel. Also, the food is outstanding! Some constructive feedback for an already amazing place: The comfort of the seating areas could be improved. Also we recommend setting up more shaded areas. And considering the heat at Rincón Del Mar we would have appreciated the availability of a free water fountain which would also be more sustainable than offering only bottled water.
• James (10/5): Exceptional - This place was fantastic what a location rincon del mar is a perfect chilled out tropical getaway with some adventure if you like. The hotel was incredible definitely exceeded our expectations and the staff super kind and friendly, everything about our stay was superb also food and drink was top notch 👌 great cocktails made by Azul.
• Vikki (10/5): Exceptional - The dream-like experience! Patricia, Rey and the team made this moment for us! Breakfast was stunning (all the food is next level) and was taken anywhere on the beach! Falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the sea....... ✨ Safe, sound and everything you need! We couldn't stay longer
• Maria (4/5): Good location, it was not what i was expecting - The location. The breakfast The room was really small. The description of it said that it has a private bathroom, but it did not clarify that it was outside of the room. We needed to take the stairs to go to the bathroom. The room had no space at all, no windows. Staff was a little everweling on our check inn . It was late and after 12 hs of travelling we definetly did not want to answer what we wanted for breakfast the next day , or listening to the options of excursions or menu. This can be fixed just by putting this info on an accesible place for the guest to consult ( activities and menu)
• Adele (10/5): Amazing value for money in a little paradise - Amazing value for money. We enjoyed everything about this place: the location that make you feel like you are the only ones in the world, the really good Homemade food, the amazing view on the sea… a real paradise !
