• Saz (9/5): Lovely stay in a fabulous flat - Fantastic flat in a brilliant location for walking into the town centre. So clean, comfortable and well equipped. Would definitely stay here again. The road outside can be noisy, but the amazing flat and location more than make up for it.

• Jen (9/5): - Wonderful! Only stayed for two nights and wish it had been longer. Will definitely come back. The flat is in a fantastic location for the town centre and is extremely comfortable and surprisingly spacious for its size. The bed and sofa are ridiculous comfortable. Useful to have a Premier shop so close. Only two small gripes (and I mean small, I would still visit again and highly recommend this property to anyone). 1) The television was a bit awkward, there’s no aerial connected so the normal Freeview channels aren’t available which we didn’t care about but a message constantly popped up asking us to tune the channels even when we were trying to use one of the apps instead, and the Firestick disconnected a few times saying no internet connection so had to wait a while for it to reconnect. 2) the bathroom did smell a bit of sewage after flushing the loo as has been mentioned in another review, but keeping the door shut with the extractor fan on cleared it fairly quickly and there is air freshener provided.
• Robert (10/5): Lovely flat in central Kendal - Lovely flat in a nice central location. Easy walking distance to all the shops, bars and restaurants of which Kendal has many. The flat was spotless and very well equipped. Owner was very helpful and responsive. Nothing to dislike. Parking was tricky. We parked in the Riverside hotel car park but were told by reception that the hotel was full and parking was for guests only tonight so had to move the car. Fortunately we found a space outside with no apparent restrictions so saved ourselves £10.
• Keith (8/5): - The flat was clean and had everything we needed. The parking was a challenge if you came back early. Only 1 hour in the street if you found a parking. Having said that we managed just fine.

• Elsden (9/5): We would 100% love to stay again, maybe in the summer when the weather is better for walking. - We had a lovely stay. Everything from arrival to departure was brilliant, amazing facilities, very clean and so much space for two people. Only negatives we wasn't sure if we where staying in 1 or 2 also the fan for the bathroom takes about 30 minutes to go off after the light is switched off.
• richard (10/5): - Lovely apartment on the edge of town. Has everything you need for a great stay. Car parking could be an issue but we got lucky with a small car park a few minutes walk away. There is parking opposite in a hotel but this was full. Not a problem for us.

• Simon (9/5): My stay - Good facilities and well looked after flat. Ideal for short break. Ww both felt like bed needs a new mattress to be comfy. Even though windows double glazed lots of road noise till quite late.

• Bent (10/5): - The home was so comfy and made us feel at peace. The hosts were extremely understanding and quick to reply if we had any queries. Cannot recommend this spot highly enough. They equipped the property with lots of hiking trail guides and guide books. Very helpful as we went on a hike ourselves.

I arrived when it was dark after a long day, so a bit more light in the lane before getting to front door would have been helpful, but not a massive problem really.

Would maybe have liked to have had an oven and hob as felt there was room to extend the kitchen to allow for one but had an electric hob and air fryer so was still able to cook

• Steve (10/5): - Location is 2 mins from the main shopping street, the flat was impeccably clean, it had everything you could need. Lovely and cosy, we really can't find a bad thing to say. Highly recommend to anyone , U won't be disappointed. Nothing, really couldn't fault it.
• IAN (8/5): Better than a hotel in my view. - Good sized 1 bed flat. Cheaper than a hotel & much comfier. Good central location. Auto lights on the way in. Bed is rather short for tall people. No proper stove, just air fryer and hot plate (probably in the details though). Struggled to work the telly properly. A bit of road noise due to the 1 way system.

• John (6/5): Wel placed property - Very well placed in-between train station and bus station 5 mins walking into Kendal town centre with lots of pubs and restaurants tea and coffee provided but you will have to get milk there is a store underneath the flat Place is okay for couples TV had Amazon but not terrestrial channels Very clean apartment On a very busy road if you are a lite sleeper you may need something to cut out noise there is no washing machine so if you get clothes muddy while out walking in the hills as we did it can be a problem if you have no spare clothing Main gate getting into the back of the property doesn't close properly you have to mind your fingers! Could not see any free parking near property

Great coffee provided for the machine. The instructions for the appliances were in such tiny print that we couldn't read them - "old" people and technology!

Road traffic quite noisy, radio blasting out from neighbour below most of the day and evening, bathroom smelt a bit unpleasant. Appreciate not much to be done on these matters it's a town location.

• Schott (7/5): Wouldn’t book again sorry. Didn’t take any pics - Difficult to find in general landing light timer was very difficult to push down so I had to use my iPhone light in the end. Didn’t like the amount of awful air fresheners used in the corridor. Made the whole place smell awful. Made me feel sick. We left after 1 night sorry. The apartment was in general kitted out lovely.

Easy to access the property with clear instructions and plenty of places to park nearby. TV was a bit tricky to work and no sponge for washing dishes

• Adrian Dennis (10/5): A reasonably priced place to stay in Kendal. - The flat was compact, comfortable, and clean . It was close to all town amenities. The upstairs landing light switch was not working. Not that it bothered me, but some people may think otherwise. Parking might be a problem for some people. Personally, I managed to find free parking ,but onthe last night I had to pay the extortionate rate of £1.70 for over night. 🤣

• Veronica (9/5): We had an excellent stay at Doodle Den and would not hesitate to recommend it to others - The apartment was self contained,excellent facilities.It was as described on the website and it was immaculately cleaned.The furnishings were very tasteful and comfortable. The heating worked perfectly, which was appreciated as it was very cold when we visited. Great location and it was only a 20 min drive into Windermere. The key to open the apartment was a a bit tricky but Vickie had advised us to try a couple of times,which we did and I was able to open it. The good thing is Vickie is aware of the problem and I’m sure will resolve the problem . We had an excellent stay at Doodle Den and would recommend it to others

The apartment is really pretty and was super clean. The kitchen was well equipped with coffee machine, air fryer and hot plate. There was plenty of tea bags & coffee capsules. The living room has been thoughtfully decorated with a lovely sofa and chair. It was a great Smart TV. The bed was comfortable with good quality bedding. The heating is also good and the apartment warmed up quickly. The location is perfect, very central. Great apartment and would definitely return. We liked everything

It was lovely to come back after a day's walking to a lovely,comfy and homely space.Our host Vicki, was very helpful with any queries and informationand ver accommodating. She always replied to our messages. Doodle Den is spotless ,well laid out and lovely decor. Location is brilliant. Its only a few mins walk from the train station, bus station and Kendal town centre. It's a little gem in the middle of Kendal. It certainly added to our holiday experience. Would definitely stay again. 10/10
