Guest Reviews
- Ruby (1/5): -
- Pimentel (4/5): It was rough. - Location was great No aircon made it unbearable, the fan just wasn't enough. Had to leave the door open which resulted in mosquitos eating us alive. The shower was blocked for the first day but the host quickly fixed it which was nice. The bathroom floor was always wet because there was no proper divider. It was hotter inside the room than out and was a small room.
- Florian (9/5): Relaxed hostel very close to the beach - Great cozy room in a calm street in Mazunte. Central location to food spots and very close to the beach (2min walk). Friendly host and good communication. There were some problems with the toilet refilling it's water, but the host immediately called someone and it was fixed within an hour. So not really negative.
- Miguel (8/5): Very good -
- Creina (7/5): Good - The location was central and easy to locate. Host provided clear and concise information on accessing property
- Birgit (7/5): Good -
- Benedetta (8/5): Very good - The room is small but cute and there is everything you need. The location is perfect: close to everything but very quiet. The bathroom could be a little improved
- Ivory (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scott (8/5): Very good -
- Noel (6/5): Pleasant - Great location Smelled of mold
- Luc (8/5): Very good -
- Ingrid (8/5): Very good - This a very nice and quiet place. The balcony was a big plus. Communication with the host was excellent and responded to all my needs.
- Gabrielle (8/5): Nice place to stay in Mazunte between beach and main street - Location, ventilation, flexible host Space in room
- Lucie (9/5): Cosy stay in Mazunte - A nice cosy spot in Mazunte ! The room was very clean. The fan was enough for me in June. Mosquito screens on all windows. Location is great, close to restaurants and the beach. It would be nice to have a garafon of water available, as only a small bottle was provided and you'd have to ask to get it refilled. The host was hard to get in contact with when I wanted to extend my stay, but he was very nice nonetheless :)
- Dan (9/5): Superb - Had a great stay at casa samay extending my trip in Mazunte, the room was clean and amazingly close to the beach. Casa samay also went out of there way to facilitate me checking in early and out late which was a massive help! Some construction noise but this looks to be temporary and music noise from bars at night but that's expected given the location
- Yessica (10/5): Exceptional - Our room was cosy and very clean. You can see that they thought of how to use the space the room offers efficiently. The staff is very attentive and kind and gave us good recommendations for our stay. As we arrived early they even hurried with the cleaning so we could enter my room before oficial checkin time. The location is perfect and the wifi works fast! You can hear the restaurant while it's open, but as we wanted to stay in the center of mazunte close to the beach, we were aware that it won't be 100% quiet. In the end it didn't bother us too much and they're only open for 4 hours.
- Joanne (7/5): Good value for money and good location - This place is in an excellent spot close to everything and 2 min walk to the beach and cafes etc
Nice shower, fan worked well. Yessi the host is super friendly and very helpful :) Our room smelt very damp and on the last few days the bathroom started smelling really bad too. Headboard very creaky every time you move.
- Lincoln (8/5): Very good -
- Juliette (7/5): Good place, Great location, Overall good place, just a bit loud. - We really liked that the location was great, close to the beach, right next door a cute vegan ice cream spot and the wifi was fast.
The managers of the property are very kind and always are looking for ways to help us. I think the things we didn't like was that it was very loud, Mazunte has a ton of construction going on, and sleeping with a floor fan was something to get used to, a cealing fan would make it so much nicer. I think for the room, we didn't expect to only have cold water in the shower, but that is I believe the water situation in Mazunte.
- Bliss (9/5): Clean, simple room in great location. - Great location in the heart of Mazunte well still being off the beaten path. The room had plenty of airflow and was fresh and clean. The host communicated well and the key hand off was easy. My room backed up to the restaurant on site and was loud at night.
- James (3/5): Smelly, loud, tiny. Overall not a good experience and for the price really bad. - I am really having a hard zime to imagine something nice about the room. I quess there was, oh no, even no hot water...
The staff seemed nice.
The location is great, if you forget the noise. 1) first thing to realize during entering is the musty/mouldy smell of the whole room that was there all the time no matter opening the window and having the fan of fullspeel. It just smells awfull. With the heat it is just an unpleasant stay in generell as the fan is just now enough, an AC would be really nice. To summarise in here already: for the money we paid, we are staying now in Puerto Escondido for nearly half the money in a 3 times bigger private room, A/C and overall amazing, clean and on top nice smelling room .
2) there is a chinese restaurant right out the door, you are basically looking in the kitchen and this gets very very loud. It says it closes at 10 pm. But they kept cleaning and having fun sometimes until 11:30 pm. That is ok if you also party late. And the cooking wok sounds like a Boeing Yet. In the morning you will here motorbikes passing and also stopping right under your bed starting from 7-8 am. So, not a lot of sleeping time.
3) the room is tinyer than we imagined, but we did not have a great look before. There is not a lot to put your things, or in the wrong place. The bathroom has no board or anything to put the soap during showering, so it lands on the toilet seat. Also there is no boarder between the shower and the rest of the toilet so the whole bathroom was wet and sandy during our whole stay.
4) all (2) of the windows do not close completely. There is a big gap in the frame, so the mosquito net on the windows are basically useless. We were surpeised by a big bug at night and some mosquitos.
5) overall I expected a much better stay for the price.
- Kelly (8/5): Excellent, would stay again - Location was great as was value. They were super kind and allowed me to drop my bags off early which I really appreciated. Room was clean! Wish there was a bit more shelving or area to store things but it doesn't change my opinion of the place.
- Lewih86 (9/5): Superb - Great location. Rooms were very clean and tidy, looked like it had just been built! For the price-point AC or a balcony would have been nice.
- Rohrmoser (10/5): Clean, safe, very-well located & super nice owners - Very nice location! Just a few minutes to the beach. On top very clean & super nice owners that gave us plenty of tips & even picked us up with their car. Thank you very much.
- Sina (8/5): Very good -
- Alexis (10/5): Great stay - would come back - Everything was really good - also good value for money, and owners really reactive to our questions and gave very good recommendations. Only a fan, can get very hot in the rooms. But I guess its everywhere the same in Mazunte.
- Sina (8/5): I would definitely stay here again! :) - The managers were very friendly and on top of everything. The location was excellent. The room was very nice and clean. I liked the cute finishing touches. There's no place to hang out. A couple hammocks in the common area would be nice.
